You know what has really grind my gears about this whole united health CEO thing? The commentary coming from the upper upper class. Like it is so beyond ironic I feel like they’re calling the average person stupid for possibly not sensing it. I don’t know why these political commentary channels feel they have authority over us. Like I completely get why they do, it’s the money that makes them feel morally and ethically superior to us but as someone who isn’t blinded by money I DONT GET WHY????

Not only that but to throw in politics and years of turmoil on top of it, and you know they’re just doing that because they do not understand the feeling of being so desperate for help and having to beg for supplies and being denied over and over.

“We’re gonna lose our humanity” the fact you come from a place where your humanity can be peak discourse rather than focusing on your basic needs such as LIVING is peak privilege. Sure you can think about how your words have an effect and other philosophical issues but ummmm when you can’t get your insulin and your neighbor can’t get their chemo treatment then the thoughts of words and how they bring humanity is OUT THE WINDOW.

And who do you think you are to be telling any one person how to react to a siduation ever? Isn’t that part of being human? To come to your own conclusions and, as American culture loves to highlights, be an individual? What happened to we shouldn’t blindly follow each other’s opinions? I'm sure this has been posted somewhere already, but I just wanted to make sure it's out there - There was a GoFundMe that a lot of people had donated to, which was then taken down with claims that Briana Boston was released, and all charges were dropped. THIS IS NOT TRUE.

In this official GoFundMe organized by Briana's husband, he states there have been no changes to her legal situation - She's out on bail ($100k), and is currently on house arrest. She faces up to 15 YEARS in prison for the "deny, delay, depose" statement she made to an Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield representative over the phone after her claim was denied.

Please consider donating to this GoFundMe, if you're able to. I can't imagine how frustrating it must be for them to get all of that support on a fundraiser that wasn't officially associated with them and is now issuing refunds and spreading misinformation, be it intentional or not. (But I have no idea what the situation is; Daniel states in his post that he doesn't believe there were any bad intentions and to not try to contact the person who organized the original fundraiser.)

Develop a wound on a couple fingers, wound doesn’t get better in two months

multiple doctor visits

finally have to take sudden medical leave because one finger hurts really bad every time I touch something, my fingers are constantly cold and white, and they just hurt all the time

referral to dermatology because my doctor thinks it’s eczema

it’s hand ischemia, an unhealing sore caused by raynaud’s

get medication to help the raynaud’s by improving bloodflow (see tags) and a referral to rheumatology and bloodwork ordered

rheumatology gives me another medication to improve bloodflow to help with the raynaud’s, concludes that I have an autoimmune disorder

hand sores are getting better?! now only one finger looks like there's anything wrong, and it barely hurts to touch things anymore!

dermatologist wants to try botox shots, which is a new application that has seen some very promising results

I think there's something to be said that saying the words "Deny, Defend, Depose, you're next" to an insurance sales rep can get you arrested for 'threats of mass homicide' or whatever with a threat of 15 years in prison

But when I was a manager in a fast food restaurant I've had customers throw food at me, demand for my personal phone number with an added threat of "Well I'll just have to FIND it", customers charging past the front counter to physically intimidate me and my coworkers, screaming and swearing, demands to know what time I get out of work, demands to know when my manager would be at work as a threat, people sitting in their car waiting for me to finish closing because they were angry at me, causing me to stay in the office watching the camera waiting for them to drive away...

But none of those incidents are arrest-able offenses, not one, any time I called the cops on any customer I would just hear excuses like " "there isn't anything illegal about calling a restaurant", that nothing physical happened and therefore there's nothing they could do, to call back and let them know if anything else happens
