Empathy is in short supply
It's funny to me that online leftists seem to have all this empathy for Palestinians (rightfully so, mind you) but have no empathy enough for their fellow Americans to try and keep Trump out of the office. They'd rather sit at home or vote for known MAGA shills like Stein, West, and RFK jr (prior to him finally revealing himself a trumpy).
I don't know if they think that Trump won't do what he says he's going to do by rolling back LGBTQ AND minorities rights, branding immigrants and then deporting them, jailing trans people, making women second class citizens, destroying the climate, lock up political rivals, allowing Putin to destroy Ukraine and the most boggling thing, allowing Netanyahu to glass Palestine to allow Jared Kushner to turn Gaza into a beach front property.
That last point absolutely burns me because how can these "protesters" allow Trump to get closer to his goal by hindering the one person who can stop him in an attempt to help Palestinians, but then forget that he's not even hiding his Zionist nature by wanting Netanyahu to win?
Truthfully, I believe real protestors understand the risk a Trump presidency will have on their home and their goal and it's just these grandstanding, hot-dogging, "I can't vote for Kamala vause she's just as bad" to keep their hands all nice and clean.
Like, I have to think they are either trolls, acceleration nuts, Putin/Netanyahu lovers in disguise or they are truly idiotic because they'd rather fuck over Palestinians faster with a Trump win? Make it make sense to me.
And its these people that let me know that they don't talk to actual Palestinians because the last thing they want is a Trump presidency nor do they read editorials or articles from respected Palestinian journalists.
It also shows me that these people have no empathy for anyone. Not those in the US, not those in the Ukraine and ESPECIALLY those in Palestine. They just want the optics of not making the hard choice and remaining pure by saying "I'm willing to burn it all down for Palestine, even the Palestinians!"

I hope leftists who think they’re above voting for president or are voting for Jill Stein or whoever because it’s their stupid way of protesting the system feel good about themselves, especially if Trump wins partly because of your negligence 😍 I know you’re not doing shit to plan the proletarian revolution, especially before January, so none of you better complain if life gets a lot worse for you
#if you have the option to help make change and do nothing then that’s your fault#ah yes! taking absolutely no action! that'll show the corrupt two-party system!#I’m literally a leftist too I don’t like aligning with the democrat party either but like… what other choice do we have right now#why not just vote for the one who sucks less#also you do know Jill Stein and Rudolph Ware don’t give a fuck about you or any leftist issues right#like they’re literally just there to get in the way for people who are too dumb to realize they’re basically just handing a vote to Trump#sorry for my raging here we see that I am very nervous for this election lol#and i know i'm being dramatic i don't actually want life to get worse for anyone but like... if you're anti-trump but don't vote for kamala#you're basically just getting what you asked for#american politics#vote blue#us politics#i know trump supporters are the ones to be angrier with ofc but this type of people are really irritating too#breaking: 20-year-old chronically online tumblr user changes the minds of thousands last-minute by ranting (/s)

I feel like it's important to point out that the Ukrainian rhythmic gymnastics team leader has talked about how it was difficult for the team to train because they couldn't hear the music over the sounds of Russian shelling, and they weren't always sure they'd survive long enough to make it to the Olympics at all. Hundreds of Ukrainian athletes died before their chance to compete arose.
I don't say this to put a damper on things, but if you want to see Taisiia Onofriichuk or any other Ukrainian athletes in any future Olympic games, keep putting pressure on your government to give Ukraine the support they need to actually end this war (not to mention permission to use weaponry where it needs to be used).
You can also donate to support Ukraine here:
United 24
Hospitallers
Come Back Alive
Prytula foundation
Dzyga’s Paw
Taisiia Onofriichuk from Ukraine performs her hoop routine to the sound of "Thriller" by Michael Jackson at the 2024 Paris Olympics Rhythmic Gymnastics Individual Qualifiers

The weird radical/revolutionary politic larpers on this site are so allergic to political pragmatism I swear lmao. I am definitely left of the Democratic Party and I am certainly voting for Joe Biden in November. Not because I like him (I don’t). He is absolutely horrific on Gaza and that’s only the top (and priority considering there is a genocide going on there) of a list of complaints I have about him. I even voted uncommitted in my state’s presidential primary (the Pennsylvania one; I had to write it in) to protest. However, I’m still thinking pragmatically. Trump has said things that make me credibly think he will be worse on Gaza (insane that being worse on Gaza than Biden is possible but it is unfortunately), and that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Project 2025, the potential for him to appoint more deeply conservative justices, more of his aggressively screwing over poor and middle class people with his tax policies. And does anyone else remember the spike in hate crimes after the race was called for him in 2016? Before he was even inaugurated? Whether people vote or not in November we will still have to deal with one of these two men in office come January unless all of the internet ancom larpers overthrow the government by then (doubt), so I’d rather deal with the one who will be marginally less bad and who didn’t try to overthrow the government. Can’t have your revolution if nobody’s alive cause you kept pushing off politically participating because there was no perfect option. 👍
Political pragmatist anon, sorry for ranting in your askbox but I feel like I lose brain cells watching these people talk. The other day I saw someone say Biden is bad because Roe v. Wade fell under his administration… even though the reason for that was Trump appointed justices. 💀 (2/2)
Fucking insane. Sincerely.
It's a completely, flatly binary choice for anyone with a brain stem and sincerity. It's distilled into the two below images:
Where all major third party candidates are even on the ballot
How many electoral votes the largest of those (green party, a.k.a. Jill Stein) would win if they won every single state they're on the ballot for.
They are literally, legally, incapable of winning the election. They are not on enough state ballots to win and Jill Stein would need to somehow win California and Texas to even "win" all the states they're on the ballot for. Which, again, would still not be enough to win the presidency and throw it to the currently existing Republican House of Representatives. Which would put Trump in office.
It's that straightforward. That simple. That BLARINGLY obvious to literally everyone except these people.
On the one hand you have:
Significant and continuous support for Israel and it's genocide
Record levels of pardons for low-level drug offenses
the gearing up of the strongest anti-trust regime since the early 20th century
the most aggressive NLRB I've seen in my lifetime, with massive wins and institutional changes to help workers
Including getting Rail strike workers a week of sick-leave that gets paid out at the end of the year, which is better than NYC and LA sick leave laws
Millions of people (not enough) getting student debt forgiveness
Some trillion dollars (not enough)of investment in renewable resources and infrastructure
Proposed taxes on unrealized capital gains (a.k.a. how billionaires never have any money but can still buy Kentucky, Iowa, and Twitter)
Effectively an end to overdraft fees
The explicit support of leftist world leaders like Lula de Silva. Who he has explicitly worked with to expand worker rights in South America.
Has capped (some, not enough, only a tiny amount really but it's something) some drug prices, including Insulin.
Reduced disability discrimination in medical treatment
Billions in additional national pre-k funding
Ending federal use of private prisons
Pushing bills to raise Social Security tax thresholds higher to help secure the General Fund
Increasing SSI benefits
and more
vs
Said Israel should just nuke Gaza and "get it over with"
Personally takes pride in and credit for getting Roe v Wade overturned
Is arguing in court that the President should be allowed to assassinate political rivals
Muslim Ban Bullshit, insistently
Actively damages our global standing and diplomatic efforts just by getting obsessed with having a Big Button
Implemented massive tax cuts on ich people, tax hikes on middle class and poor people, and actively wants to do it again
"Only wants to be a dictator for a little bit, guys, what's the big deal"
Is loudly publicly arguing that the US shouldn't honor its military alliances after-the-fact
Tore up an effective and substantial anti-nuclear-proliferation treaty with Iran
Had a DoEd that actively just refused to process student debt forgiveness applications that have been the law of the land for decades now
Has a long record of actively curtailing and weakening the NLRB and labor movement, including allowing managers to retaliate against workers, weakened workplace accommodation requirements for disabled people, and more
Rubber stamped a number of massive mergers building larger, more powerful top companies and increasing monopolistic practices
Fucking COVID Bullshit and hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths
Openly supporting fascists and wannabe-bootlicks ("Very fine people" being only the beginning of it
It's really not fucking close.

Im so tired of radical leftist (almost exclusively white women) trying to target Black Women to get them to throw away their vote to support a candidate (Jill Stein) who is quite frankly a piece of shit so that they get to feel moral superiority for not having “blood on their hands”
I was at the farmers market this morning and they are targeting a group of people who would be the first to have their rights stripped away under a Trump presidency because they know that ultimately their whiteness offered them protection. Because that’s what happens when you encourage people to vote 3rd party. We get another 4 years (a lifetime?) of Donald Trump.
Seriously if you claim to care about marginalized groups and are voting for anyone but Kamala Harris. Fuck You.
I’m so done with the bullshit and playing nice.
Vote Blue. 💙

Just a reminder if you are apart of the “abandon Harris” movement and have changed to vote for Jill Stein.. you are a fucking privileged idiot who cares about no one but themselves and chooses to vote from their ass instead of facts and reality.
Don’t claim to care about what’s going on in Gaza because your vote will ensure that Trump gets into office and I can tell you right now - he doesn’t care about them.
No one from Gaza is going to thank you if Trump gets elected and if you can’t see that then you can’t be helped.
If you truly cared about literally anyone else in this world you would vote for Harris to make sure that Trump doesn’t get into office.
Don’t be the reason we get a dictator.
As much as I’d revel in you all finally have a god damn reality check, I don’t want to live it and I sure as hell don’t want anyone else to have to go through it.
So I beg you to use what little common sense I know you have to not vote for Jill Stein.

a reminder that Russia is a huge problem still. they want trump back in charge. Michael Flynn was found guilty about his contacts in Russia & trump pardoned him.
jill stein is not a savior. she's a putin puppet. she has never attempted to get any position in local or state level. she's there to incite discord & division especially in key swing states. she's only there to make you feel good about yourselves meanwhile she gets money from Lockheed Martin. wtf.
then this horseshit? look at the nonsense in Georgia, Arizona, & other counties in swing states. they're obvious pro trump shenanigans. it's the GOP who are willing to cheat & will do so publicly & proudly. she's fucking lying here.
look, there are many who support freeing Palestine. it's understandable to want to speak up & hope for change. but to those who aren't voting at all, telling everyone who is truly vulnerable in THIS country that they can fuck off & that they're pro-genocide for preferring to have Kamala Harris as president, you're actually awful. truly. this little tweet collection from stein is a load of bullshit. why aren't you angry about this set of lies? are you gonna use this as some kind of messed up "proof" that you claiming both parties are the same, especially in this election, is true?
you solve nothing by wasting your votes on someone like this who is also a traitor. Project 2025 will make this place hell for everyone, including you, holier-than-thou protestors. mass deportations. no reproductive rights at all. no contraception. no Medicare or social security. NOAA will be disbanded because climate change "isn't real" (are you just as angry about this??? well why the fuck not????). anyone trump doesn't like will be sent to prison or deported like a good dictator would.
you say you don't want trump in office. well, voting for stein will help him get there. but hey, at least your conscience will be clear.

the "vote blue no matter who" crowd really needs to start actually looking at articles and new pieces in real time before they start clubbing people over the head with guilt trips about
"don't vote green party, you can vote green party another year, we all need to get together and vote for Biden"
I don't know how to tell you this, Blue Maga, but Biden has a snowball's chance in hell of winning this election.
He is loathed by 70% of the country for his genocide, and the other 30% loves Trump.
Biden is losing almost every single poll that comes out, and the one's he's winning are usually by just a single percentage point.
Democrats high up the food chain and in his own office are pleading with him to step down and let someone else run for President.
And he refuses to step down.
This man is gleefully committing genocide, circumventing the law to avoid telling the public and congress exactly how many billions in weapons he's sending to Israel to continue the genocide, and is deliberately spreading disinformation that his own aids have to debunk as soon as he speaks.
This man is not going to win the election, and you're not going to convince anyone who's voting Third Party (such as for Jill Stein) to vote for a genocidal fucking racist piece of shit by exclaiming "but what about white queer and women's rights in america?" As though they haven't reached the state they have under Biden's direct reign as President when he can use an executive order any time he wants to enshrine those rights.
But if he did that now, he wouldn't be able to hold your loyalties hostage for the upcoming election, now would he?
2024 is not the election to "just vote blue".
2024 is the election where you tell these genocidal fuckwads they're never going to get another vote in their life until they stop committing genocide and step down so someone who actually cares about humanity can take the reigns.
Anyways, if you're unsure what you can do this election year, please take a moment to read Jill Stein's platform, and be prepared to have your socks blown off. Because yeah, it is in fact possible for politicians to actually stand for the things the people they're supposed to represent want, and that doesn't happen when the people representing you only have to hold your liberties hostage to get your vote, like the Democrats.
"Joe Biden is the most progressive President we've had in American History [if you only care about white americans and ignore the funding of militarized police and extreme police brutality and the goddamn fucking genocide he is committing with our tax dollars]"
Foreign Policy & Demilitarization
The bipartisan endless war machine enriches military contractors, lobbyists, and politicians, while it fuels devastation around the world and impoverishes our own people. The Pentagon budget consumes over half of the discretionary federal budget, and real US military spending is over $1 trillion dollars per year. The military-industrial complex, aided by its accomplices in both war parties, media, intelligence agencies, and beyond, has become a global empire that is profoundly destructive around the world and here at home. Everyone has a human right to live in peace and dignity, free from violence and oppression. We must end the endless wars and create a new foreign policy based on diplomacy, international law, and human rights to lead the way to a new era of peace and cooperation.
A Jill Stein administration will:
Establish a foreign policy based on diplomacy, international law, and human rights
End existing wars, military actions, proxy wars and secret wars
Cut military spending by 50-75% and ensure a just transition that replaces military jobs with Green New Deal jobs
Invest the peace dividend in a Global Green New Deal to prevent climate collapse, and build toward universal access to basic human needs for food, clean water and sanitation, education, and health care for every human being on Earth
Close the vast majority of the 700+ foreign US military bases
Stop U.S. support and arms sales to human rights abusers
Lead on global nuclear disarmament
End unilateral economic sanctions that primarily harm civilian populations
Remove war powers from the president and restore Congress’ sole power to declare war
Disband NATO and replace it with a modern, inclusive security framework that respects the security interests of all nations and people
Demand an immediate ceasefire in Israel and Palestine, an end to the blockade of Gaza, immediate humanitarian and medical relief, and release of hostages and political prisoners
Immediately end all military aid to Israel and adopt sanctions until Israel complies with international law to put an end to decades of violence, illegal occupation, displacement, dispossession, apartheid, and ethnic cleansing
End the longstanding US practice of vetoing UN Security Council resolutions to hold Israel accountable to international law
Move to end the UN Security Council to ensure the UN is a true democratic body
Remove U.S. troops from Iraq and Syria
Stop fueling the war between Russia and Ukraine and lead on negotiating a peaceful end
End the embargo of Cuba and normalize relations
End sanctions on Cuba, Nicaragua and Venezuela that amount to collective punishment of civilian populations
End US interventionist policies that drive people to become migrant refugees
End the failed drug wars and stop regime change attempts against foreign governments
Ban the use of killer drones, robots, and artificial intelligence
Close the Guantanamo Bay detention camp
Ensure family-supporting wages and benefits for military service members
Fully fund veterans’ programs and benefits, including healthcare, mental health, housing, and job training, for a transition to civilian life
Protect the rights of service members, including conscientious objectors
“A nation that continues year after year to spend more money on military defense than on programs of social uplift is approaching spiritual death.” -Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Other people with more followers than I've got have said this more eloquently, but I just saw a post from February encouraging Americans to throw the system by not voting in November.
The fact is, 18-45 year old voters are going to hand republicans the biggest wins in history by not showing up on election day because of "genocide Joe".
Fine. And while you're making your asinine and wholly futile political statements, the Heritage Foundation is going to install Donald Trump as dictator, kneecap the right to privacy, and kill anyone on the LGBT spectrum.
I'm sorry that "guy who's going to kill palestinians and other people he doesn't like" and "guy who's only going to kill palestinians" are our only two choices here. But, they ARE our only two choices. This is a deeply corrupt system, but withholding your vote is not the answer.
"Well, I'M better because I'm going to vote for a third party, so fuck you." Third parties are decoys that republicans use to split liberal voters from the democrats. In 2000, people said "Oh, I can't vote for Al Gore in good concience," voted for Nader, and Bush won. In 2016, people said, "Oh, I can't vote for Hilary Clinton in good concience", voted for Jill Stein, and Trump won. 2024, people are going to say, "Oh, I can't vote for Joe Biden in good concience", vote for whoever the fuck is the third party candidate, and hand Trump a second presidency.
I cannot stress this enough: if Trump wins again, there will NEVER be another free election held in this country again.
We don't have the luxury of staying home on election day and hoping Joe and Donald both die of COVID-19. Vote for Biden, then hit yourself or whatever it is you do. Because there is quite literally no other way.

While everyone who is refusing to vote for Biden because of Gaza and his poor debate, Trump is calling people Palestinian as a slur.
Like...Everyone is fair to judge Biden on his lackluster response to Gaza (as I do), but look at this! All undecided and "Vote Third party because of 'Genocide Joe'" Trump has actively told Israel to "finish the job" while also doing this and talking about how Russia, North Korea, and China (something he accused Biden of being a puppet of) are our allies! Why aren't people talking about this? Why are people so willing to let this monster get away with lying and being racist and supporting other regimes to the point that they will throw away their vote by voting third party or not voting at all?!
Aren't they seeing what they are potentially letting back into the White House all because Biden is not the perfect guy? I get that Democrats are a mish-mash of ideologies but look at what we're doing being at each other's throat over someone who is at least trying to help us.
Trump is not going to help Gaza. He's going to destroy it while also destroying America with Project 2025, which may I add, is already getting the show on the road by gutting a ton of stuff yesterday.
AND DO I NEED TO TALK ABOUT ROE VS WADE?
And don't give me that "Biden needs to step down" because how the hell can that be pulled off in 4 months without pissing off the delegates that wanted him while trying to swiftly bring the mish-mash of Dems to try and vote for them in 4 MONTHS? Not only that, no one is credible at the moment.
Sanders is older than Biden and Orange Man.
Newsom is disliked in Cali.
Whitmer (who I would vote for in a heartbeat) is an unknown to the country and a woman
No one likes Harris not only due to her policies with the police but we all know she has a uphill battle because she is a POC and a woman.
AOC (who I would vote for in a heartbeat) also has the same issue as Harris being a POC and a woman.
Crockett (who I would also vote for in a heartbeat) is both an unknown, a POC and a woman.
And do I even need to bring up Hillary and the demonization she's STILL going through even after being vindicated.
And I bring this up for third parties as well. Who do we have in that list?
Jill Stein is actively a shill for Putin and was seen dining with him.
Cornell West has been on his bullshit for years now.
And RFK Jr? Someone I've seen people asking to vote for. The man who is anti-vax, anti-science, someone who his family isn't rooting for, and had a worm in his brain. And keep in mind, I left out some stuff.
So third party voters, how will you rally around one of these three or someone else in 4 MONTHS?!
We don't have time for all this division. We need to band together to defeat Trump and give America a fighting chance because if we don't, POCs, LGBTQ+, the Disabled, women, the homeless, anyone who cares about climate change, and fucking everyone that isn't rich, white, Christian males will be in danger by this wanna-be dictator.
In order to help Gaza, we need to be able to help ourselves and stop the fascism breathing down our neck.
Give us a fighting chance, please, and vote pure blue

Reading the detailed, evidence-based, popular-support policy platforms that Cornell West and Jill Stein have posted and feeling the kind of deep soul crushing grief that comes with having spent the last like 30 years watching these two people offer genuinely solid, middle of the road center-left policies that literally every opinion poll suggests the whole country likes regardless of party affiliation, and all they get for it is being treated like laughing stocks by all sides of the political spectrum as if that isn't LITERALLY the fucking problem we are having politically
Like. We just insist that 3rd parties could never win but these are literally the policies we keep begging the major dual party system to support so like. Why the fuck would they support things WE THE VOTERS keep reinforcing as "unelectable"
Like
We could all just vote for the policies we believe in even if we think it won't win because god what a nightmare that basic humanity is considered unwinnable. We could just reward the politicians who actually HAVE the policies we want.
This too is purity politics, the idea that there's no point voting what you believe because it's not popular enough even though we all know it is.
Honestly, this, more than any other year, is a time to challenge this. A time to say "you do not get to be president if you were in political power during a genocide" by rejecting BOTH PARTIES on the premise that will force us to accept the genocide as inevitable. We can tell them that, no, in fact, it isn't, and anyone who claims otherwise is barred from power.
I wish I believed that when I tell people to "vote their conscience" in the ballot box, they actually did that on the basis of the candidates policy platforms, not on the basis of who they're "supposed" to vote for.
Anyway, here are some people running for president who AREN'T either Trump or Harris, and specifically, links to their policy platforms/proposals. I no longer give a fuck what anyone does with their vote this year because I cannot have an opinion and remain sane in this fucking world, but I **can** say that if you vote for a candidate without comparing their policies to their opponents in the race, then I would genuinely rather you have chosen not to vote at all. To walk into the polling station and vote based on social pressure or vibes or feelings or threat without having done a single goddamn mote of research into who in the race is offering what is just.
It's an abdication of responsibility.
Don't care if you read them all and decide your favorite one is different from mine. I don't care if you read them all and prefer the same one but won't be voting for them. I don't even care if you read them all and don't understand what any of them are saying and go with your social-pressure/vibe/external pressure candidate from before you looked into it! But for the love of god, at least pretend to give a fuck what you are voting against let alone what you're voting for.
There will be policies on these lists that make you as afraid as Trump's will, and policies on these lists that are probably exactly what you've wished a president would run on for years. I don't actually expect to mobilize a real 3rd party movement on Tumblr of all places, but seriously, why aren't we asking more questions about what "is and isn't" possible in a USA political election? Why aren't we challenging the manufactured consent when we know full well from decades of polls that policies like medicare for all aren't only GENUINELY uncontroversial and near universally supported once you take people's political trigger words out of the proposal, but also about what a fucking laughing stock it makes us as a nation that seeks to beat and bully and control around the globe thinks one of the mosy globally popular, generally centrist, and effective to implement human wellfare policies in goddamn history?
How much longer are we going to let our politicians lie to us that it's too dramatic an ask for us even though 80% of the goddamn world has already been managing it for years or decades or generations??? How much longer are we willing to knowingly vote for people who don't support our interests "because they'll win" as if we've ever actually given ourselves a fair shake election for such a thing to be inherent truth rather than inflicted oppressive reality.
I dunno. If you're going to vote for someone who's going to sell you out in 2 years or less, at least give yourself the chance to see it coming and plan ahead, goddamn.

I find it frustrating that you assume I’m seeking attention and refuse to earnestly engage with my feelings when I say I don’t wanna vote for the guy who is actively helping Israel commit genocide. Also, as a disabled person like me, why aren’t you mad at him for pretending the pandemic is over and removing all covid mitigations and making society unsafe for us?
if you're voting for Cornel West, you're voting for whoever Harlan Crow wants you to vote for. If you're voting for Jill Stein, you're voting for whoever Vladimir Putin wants you to vote for. Either way, it's nonsensical and useless. My first election was 2000, go read the wikipedia article about Florida and Ralph Nader, it's not my fucking job to educate you on the meaning of a third party candidate in an electoral system that is a Single Member District Plurality.
As a disabled person on Social Security and living in the bottom quintile of this economy, the Biden Administration has made my life MARKEDLY better. Medicare improvements alone have been a revelation. I now have so much more money in my pocket, no copays on my medications or any of my doctor visits ever, my food stamps have gone up. We are the only major economy in the west that is experiencing economy growth.
Biden has been dealing with a 50-50 Senate and has accomplished more than Obama did with a Supermajority in 8 years. I'm sorry that you probably learned about foreign policy three months ago, but if you think literally anyone else who has a snowball's chance in fucking hell will be better for Palestine, you are delulu as all fuck. Biden is not helping commit genocide, you are spouting internet catchphrases. Biden is not even on speaking terms with Netanyahu at the moment. Blinken has been repeatedly pressuring Israel to pause the fighting because Americans are being held hostage in Gaza. You speak like someone who learns literally all of their information from social media.
You're disabled like me, why are you giving away your country to fascism for one foreign policy issue you probably barely understand and literally no other viable candidate will be to the left of Biden on? Do you think Trump, who your vote will actively assist, will be any better? The guy who literally moved the American embassy in Israel to Palestine in a move designed to be deliberately provocative to Palestine? That Donald Trump?
Assume Biden literally told Netanyahu to stop. Netanyahu would not stop. It would not happen. We have not approved any aid to Israel, even, because guess what: Congress hasn't approved anything whatsoever.
And that is more words than I have been willing to give to anyone who responds to this post because in 2016 I gave a lot of words to people who ended up being Russian psyops agents, and I am tired.
But hey, vote for Jill Stein. Women dying in Texas of miscarriages going septic clearly mean fucking nothing to you, as long as you can keep your Internet Moral Purity Fad Of The Moment.
edit: re Covid that was a global loss and it sucks and I have no Immune B cells and I don't go out anymore but that is hardly uniquely American. Everywhere is pretending it's over. no one cares about sick people anywhere. anyway grow up and realize the world is complicated and if you're a single issue voter like this you are cutting off your nose to spite your face
#christ why do i bother#i have compassion for the palestinians but guess what?#the political realities are what they are#and no joe biden isn't doing shit#except repeatedly pressuring Bibi to fucking cool it#i know this because I READ THE NEWS BEYOND SOCIAL FUCKING MEDIA

The Republicans and the Democrats are the two hands of the neoliberal and neoconservative US Empire. If you believe that voting for Harris will "save democracy/freedom," you have fallen for their lie.
A free country has universal healthcare because it is a human right. In the US, people die because they can't afford insulin.
A free country has public and social housing, because housing is a human right. In the US, unhoused people exist, and they are treated as criminals. The Democrat governor of California gleefully destroys their belongings.
A free country has fully funded public schools, not Cop Cities.
Decent people do not support genocide. Fuck anyone who says "I stand with Israel."
Vote for Jill Stein/Butch Ware, and support both the Green Party and the PSL.

With 2016, people just don’t understand how everything works. Getting the popular vote isn’t how the game is played, getting the electoral vote is. The popular vote doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things because candidate’s strategies would completely change if they were trying to get the popular vote rather than win individual states. Did I vote for Hillary? Yes. Do I still think she didn’t approach the vote with the right strategy and played it for the popular vote rather than the electoral vote and lost as a result? Also yes.
Okay, but you do get how that's a flawed metric for an argument, right? Hillary DID win the popular vote by three million plus, and in any sane system, that would have been enough to net her the presidency. "Hillary ran a flawed campaign" is to some extent, a true statement, as is "Hillary didn't focus enough on Michigan/Wisconsin/Pennsylvania because the Democrats assumed she had them on lockdown and didn't take into account the amount of Midwestern white people voting for Trump because of white backlash against Obama." But that is something that a) only became clear in hindsight and b) yet again, in any sane universe, should not have decided the election. Because:
Hillary was, and is, possibly the single most qualified presidential candidate the Democrats have ever had;
Voters were predisposed to hate her not because she "wasn't likable" or was "too corporate," but because the Republicans had been running literal decades of virulent smear campaigns against her to poison the well for this very eventuality;
The media almost never bothered to point this out at all and spent endless airtime on BUT HER EEEEEEEMAILS and doing sympathetic pieces about Trump voters, implying that their vote for Trump was a justified or moral protest against Both Sides Badism, and this was even the so-called "mainstream" media;
Fox News, of course, pumped out endless hit pieces and then some, all of which was echoed in some degree by those outlets;
James Comey announced TEN DAYS BEFORE THE ELECTION that suddenly oops, he was investigating her emails again;
Even though there was nothing there and it is absolutely small potatoes compared to the much worse things Republicans are doing on the regular, because SELLING NUCLEAR SECRETS TO FOREIGN ENEMIES is okay as long as it is Trump doing it;
America is still so fucking racist and misogynistic that even after Trump spewed off terrible things about every non-white group, scapegoated Mexicans and Muslims and black people, and was caught on tape bragging about grabbing women by the pussy, this didn't actually make much of an impact on people planning to vote for him, because they evidently figured it "wasn't real" or "he would change" once he became president, while for others, the open hatred was the main attraction;
Bernie refused to concede until the actual convention, implied that if you couldn't vote for him, you shouldn't vote for anyone, and generally fanned the kind of I'll Take My Pony and Go Home rhetoric that is a poison in "progressive" online circles today;
Almost 10% of Bernie voters voted for Trump instead of Clinton;
Gary Johnson and Jill Fucking "Russian Asset" Stein were somehow treated as valid "protest vote" options, even while Hillary was warning everyone left and right about how much Trump sucked, how much SCOTUS (AND SPECIFICALLY ROE) was at risk, and how much democracy would be damaged if he won, which -- GUESS WHAT -- happened exactly as she predicted;
Speaking of the Russians, they were interfering the hell out of it, whether through Wikileaks/the DNC email hack, social media psyops, organized troll farms, or anything else they could think of;
And on and on. Against the backdrop of sheer and unmitigated fuckery that was the 2016 election, and the fact that so many people couldn't be bothered to vote for Hillary because she was a Smart Woman who was Too Corporate when the alternative was literally Trump, "Hillary didn't campaign enough in MI/WI/PA" is.... hardly a valid way to explain or excuse the many, many bad-faith actors, bad choices, and general lethargy, misinformation, deliberate destruction of faith in democracy, racism, Russian interference, misogyny, and white fragility that fucked us over and continues to do so.

That second to the last one…I’m an atheist but it sure is weird and uncanny that Trump fits the role in Revelations better than anyone else has since…yeah, that guy. The other bunker bitch.
Trump is a racist, pedophile, sexist, misogynist, greedy, dishonest to the Nth power, rapist, convicted felon dictator wannabe. He’s a goddamn scumbag! If you think what Netanyahu is doing in Gaza is bad now, wait until Trump gets reelected cuz you throw your vote away on a 3rd party candidate who will be bound by the same treaties Biden and every president back to Reagan have been bound. And you’d start calling Jill Stein genocidal too. Or whatever throwaway party you vote for. Of the two candidates, Trump is far more dangerous to Muslims. The motherfucker banned Muslims. Kamala said on Monday our treaties with Israel will be reevaluated and revised and she is doubling down on the cease fire which probably won’t happen because Israel assassinated the Hamas negotiator. Netanyahu is a war criminal trying to goad Iran into war, one Trump will only be too happy to support. Kamala won’t be.
And if you protest with Trump as president, they will shoot you dead. He wanted to shoot BLM protesters but his defense secretary wouldn’t let him. But this time he will have sycophants in cabinet positions who will say yes to everything, so you better bet he’ll shoot you dead when you protest. Kamala won’t shoot you and she’ll have the same immunity Trump will have.
So if you find yourself in a detention camp because of something you said online about Trump (because you will) remember that you are complicit in your own demise while your captors are bombing the fuck out of the Middle East cuz WWIII, baby!
The christofascists vs Muslim fundamentalists
