A year ago, on this day, Nex Benedict passed away.

Nex was a Two-Spirit non-binary sophomore who attended Owasso High School. The day before his death, he was attacked by students who were making rude comments about him and his friend. When Nex retaliated by pouring water on them, the students physically assaulted him, beating Nex until they lost consciousness. Nex had scrapes and bruises following the fight and went to sleep that night with a sore head.

The next day, Nex collapsed in their living room, with their eyes rolled back and struggling to breathe.

Nex's death was declared a suicide by an overdose on Prozac and Benadryl, in spite of the fact that taking those medications rarely ever lead to death.

The actual cause of Nex's death remains up in the air; some people believe it was really suicide, others believe it was from the injuries sustained from the fight the day before.

And may i say; if it was a suicide, it was committed DUE to the bullying he suffered. Blood remains on the school's hands for doing nothing.

Their death remains nothing short of a tragedy, regardless of the cause. Nex was only 16 years old. He loved reading, nature, drawing, Minecraft, and their cat Zeus. They were a strong and tough person who hid behind those walls to earn respect, but deep down, he was a truly compassionate, sweet, and thoughtful person. They'd cook pancakes and chicken wings with mixed-up spice for their friend/ex-partner. Nex was deeply brave and extremely intelligent; lit up a room just from entering.

So much potential for an incredible life. Such a beautiful, deeply incredible and wonderful person. Someone who reminds me so much of so many of my friends.

And now he's gone.

He should have turned 17 on January 12th this year.

Their death has been mocked by people online, the Oklahoma superintendent himself, Ryan Walters, even went as far to insult and misgender Nex.

The Oklahoma governor even stated the following: "We are a Republican state - supermajority - in the House and Senate. I represent a constituency that doesn't want that filth in Oklahoma." What a monster.

But in spite of how deeply gut-wrenching and horrible this all is, we must continue to move forward and stay strong. With a racist, facist, sexist idiot currently in the oval office, and a Nazi essentially acting as right-hand man, now more than ever, queer people and queer allies must fight back. Let themselves be known. Not feel an ounce of regret or embarrassment for who they are. As hackneyed and trite of a statement it is, be yourself. Don't let any person stop you from being the beautiful individual you are.

It seems hopeless but that's what they WANT. They WANT you to give up hope and conform. But millions of our queer ancestors did not fight like hell for our rights, just so we could throw in the towel. They fought and they conquered. So can we.

Be brave. Be intelligent. Be a fighter. Be a conqueror. Be you. Nex was. So can you.

I love you, Nex.

I love you all.

So for me, and for him, say his name. And say it proud.

And say it LOUD.

I wanted to expand on the one introduced on the Kelly Clarkson show, below are the Fassy movies I've seen, my general "psychopath" rating for each character and reason why

Disclaimers:

For context I am essentially swapping "psychopath" with "evil," I am in no way trying to tie this to any psychological disorders or do a deep dive into any characters. Just a very surface-level "how nefariously evil is this character?"

These are my opinions, I encourage you to share, comment and make your own ratings. I will also be updating as I watch more of his films.

There *will* be spoilers so if you haven't seen these movies/shows, consider yourself warned!

The scale will also be a 0-5. I'm using 👿 and a zero will be a 👍

Inglourious Basterds: Lt. Hicox 👍

Eden Lake: Steve 👍

Guy and his girlfriend just trying to escape and survive the greatest terror of all, teenagers (was considering giving him one 👿 for accidentally killing a dog but it's 100% not his fault that it happens)

Goes undercover to help defeat the n*zis (and technically helps get a few killed, even though he dies in the process)

Centurion: Quintus Dias 👿

Just a soldier, trying to survive but I'm going to give him something for killing some people

Jane Eyre: Mr. Rochester 👿👿👿

Keeps his wife, suffering from mental illness, *locked in the walls* and keeps it a secret so he doesn't scare off another woman he's trying to marry. Dude...

X-Men: Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto 👿👿

Erik's anger comes from a place of trauma and his worst fears keep coming to fruition. That being said, he does blindly distrust all humans, betrays Charles multiple times and causes so much unnecessary destruction.

A Dangerous Method: Carl Jung 👿👿

Doctor cheats on his wife with his patients, twice. Also, probably not a good idea to have your patient be your employee.

A man suffering with addiction and trauma, plus added stress and guilt when his sister stays over. Wish I could give him a hug.

Haywire: Paul 👿👿

Honestly he's not in it for that long and I wasn't paying attention but I guess he double crossed the main character and shot someone?

Prometheus/Alien Covenant: David 8 👿👿👿

I will defend David with my dying breath but I'll be honest he does some horrendous things. Intentionally infecting humans with alien parasites, massacring an entire planet, killing and experimenting on someone he loved? But the humans were mean to him...

12 Years a Slave: Edwin Epps 👿👿👿👿👿

Sadistic slave owner and r*pist, yep about as evil as it gets

Frank: Frank 👍

Poor Frank has done no wrong, just wants to make music and wear mask

Slow West: Silas Selleck 👿

Starts out tricking the main character so he can find a bounty but has a change of heart

M*rders the king in his sleep so he can become king, orders Banquo and his son killed (although the son does escape) and burns Macduff's wife and children at the stake. One evil dude.

Steve Jobs: Steve Jobs 👿👿

Forget being a greedy businessman, a neglectful father and stealing credit from his friend and business partner, his cardinal sin was dipping his feet in a fucking public toilet

The Light Between Oceans: Tom Sherbourne 👿

Yes, he and his wife were heartbroken after their miscarriages but he does technically kidnap a child, keeping her from her grieving mother. His guilt starts eating at him and he desperately tries to keep his wife from getting prosecuted

Assassin's Creed: Cal/Aguilar 👿

I don't remember what or if there was a plot for this movie but I remember he was arrested for killing someone and then also kills some more people so I'll give him something.

Song to Song: Cook 👿👿

This movie was hard to follow but I'm giving him a two because he might be a groomer (he met the main character, who he later sleeps with, at 16) and he cheated Ryan Gosling's character out of the copyright on his songs.

Alien Covenant: Walter 1 👍

Don't really think Walter can be evil, he doesn't have the capacity that David does

Next Goal Wins: Thomas Rongen 👿

Verbally abusive and throws things. Also intentionally misgenders and deadnames a character because he's upset at her, all for the sake of character development!?

A Bear Named Winnie: Lt. Coleburn 👿

He brings a bear to a military camp, A BEAR. Also leaves the bear at a zoo, letting her live out her life in a small cage instead of releasing her back to the wild when he had the chance

William & Mary: Lukasz 👿👿👿

Jumped through the episode to watch the Fassy bits but ew I hate this one. Guy m*lests the midwife that just delivered he and his girlfriend's baby

Sherlock Holmes & The Case of the Silk Stocking: Charles Allen 👿👿👿👿

Even though it's two characters, I'm rating them the same. One's a child m*lester and murder and one knew about it and did nothing

The Agency: Martian 👿

Hmm he is knowingly putting himself, his daughter, the cia AND his girlfriend at risk because he can't let his relationship go? (Show is ongoing so we'll see if this changes)

I'd like to introduce you to an Poppy Playtime oc of mine, Cerise Ludwig-Mayors. For some reason the tumblr links weren't working, so I'm putting her image and bio here if that's all right.

Cerise Ludwig-Mayors was the daughter of Agatha Ludwig-Mayors (maiden name Ludwig) and Ryan Ludwig-Mayors. Both of which worked in Playtime Co, Agatha at the tour guides and Ryan a teacher in Playcare. Agatha being the 4 cousin of Elliot Ludwig and knowing quite a bit of his history with the company, using it to keep herself and her husband away from danger most part at the time. But one day, Ryan came across something for the BBI on paper. Furious, he went to confront the heads about it...and naturally, the good hearted man vanished. Around the time of his disappearance, a new critter was added to Playcare...Dogday. As Agatha worried and tried looking behind the scenes of what happened to her husband, she left Cerise in the care of Playcare and the Smiling Critters meantime. Cerise got along well with the consolers and orphans, but especially got along with two people; Theodore Grambell, a boy two years younger than her at the time (she nine, he seven) and Dogday, who acted rather parental toward her and seemed to know a lot of her and even her mother (yes in this AU Ryan was turned to Dogday...shocking). Dogday accidentally commenting on Agatha's necklace being an anniversry gift when one of the Critters asked on it was the key for Agatha knowing what happened to him.

After the two spoke, Dogday talked Agatha into quitting and getting her and their daughter away somewhere safe. Cerise could only apologize to Theodore for leaving but promised him she and her mama would visit him and the others someday. Shortly after Agatha quit and her and Cerise left, Theodore was approached and befriended by the Prototype, leading on to many events that happened then.

On August 8 1995, when Cerise was 14, her mother got a call telling her everyone at Playtime co. mysteriously vanished, leaving her puzzled and worried. After all she still had friends and allies sending her secret info of how to help the kids and those lost souls in there...worried she sent her daughter to her mother and father Walter and Lucille despite their pleas not to go as she headed there...only to return in a bloodied, mangled, near comatose state, muttering about 'monsters' 'demons' and '1006.' No one knowing what it meant as Cerise could only watch the one parent she hide fade from her original personality; loving, sweet, kind, now reduced to a mere muttering comatose husk.

Cerise spent a lot of her teenhood with school and helping her grandparents look after her mother. During this time she took up studying to be a medical doctor to learn how to make others like her mother better, as well as try to bury what had happened with her mother. However, she couldn't...as she always felt something was off about the whole situation.

Ten years later when Cerise was 24, a letter sent to Agatha came to the door. "Everyone thinks we're gone but we're still here; FIND THE FLOWER." Knowing her mother was in no shape to go whatsoever, Cerise made the call to go herself to the factory. Not knowing what horrors awaited...or whom she'd reunite after so, so long ago.
