The *New* Fassbender Psychopath Scale 😈
I wanted to expand on the one introduced on the Kelly Clarkson show, below are the Fassy movies I've seen, my general "psychopath" rating for each character and reason why
Disclaimers:
For context I am essentially swapping "psychopath" with "evil," I am in no way trying to tie this to any psychological disorders or do a deep dive into any characters. Just a very surface-level "how nefariously evil is this character?"
These are my opinions, I encourage you to share, comment and make your own ratings. I will also be updating as I watch more of his films.
There *will* be spoilers so if you haven't seen these movies/shows, consider yourself warned!
The scale will also be a 0-5. I'm using 👿 and a zero will be a 👍
Let's go! 🦈
Goes undercover to help defeat the n*zis (and technically helps get a few killed, even though he dies in the process)
Inglourious Basterds: Lt. Hicox 👍
Centurion: Quintus Dias 👿
Just a soldier, trying to survive but I'm going to give him something for killing some people
Jane Eyre: Mr. Rochester 👿👿👿
Keeps his wife, suffering from mental illness, *locked in the walls* and keeps it a secret so he doesn't scare off another woman he's trying to marry. Dude...
X-Men: Erik Lehnsherr/Magneto 👿👿
Erik's anger comes from a place of trauma and his worst fears keep coming to fruition. That being said, he does blindly distrust all humans, betrays Charles multiple times and causes so much unnecessary destruction.
Shame: Brandon Sullivan 👍
A man suffering with addiction and trauma, plus added stress and guilt when his sister stays over. Wish I could give him a hug.
Haywire: Paul 👿👿
Honestly he's not in it for that long and I wasn't paying attention but I guess he double crossed the main character and shot someone?
Prometheus/Alien Covenant: David 8 👿👿👿
I will defend David with my dying breath but I'll be honest he does some horrendous things. Intentionally infecting humans with alien parasites, massacring an entire planet, killing and experimenting on someone he loved? But the humans were mean to him...
12 Years a Slave: Edwin Epps 👿👿👿👿👿
Sadistic slave owner and r*pist, yep about as evil as it gets
Frank: Frank 👍
Poor Frank has done no wrong, just wants to make music and wear mask
Slow West: Silas Selleck 👿
Starts out tricking the main character so he can find a bounty but has a change of heart
Macbeth: Macbeth 👿👿👿👿
M*rders the king in his sleep so he can become king, orders Banquo and his son killed (although the son does escape) and burns Macduff's wife and children at the stake. One evil dude.
Steve Jobs: Steve Jobs 👿👿
Forget being a greedy businessman, a neglectful father and stealing credit from his friend and business partner, his cardinal sin was dipping his feet in a fucking public toilet
The Light Between Oceans: Tom Sherbourne 👿
Yes, he and his wife were heartbroken after their miscarriages but he does technically kidnap a child, keeping her from her grieving mother. His guilt starts eating at him and he desperately tries to keep his wife from getting prosecuted
Assassin's Creed: Cal/Aguilar 👿
I don't remember what or if there was a plot for this movie but I remember he was arrested for killing someone and then also kills some more people so I'll give him something.
Alien Covenant: Walter 1 👍
Don't really think Walter can be evil, he doesn't have the capacity that David does
Next Goal Wins: Thomas Rongen 👿
Verbally abusive and throws things. Also intentionally misgenders and deadnames a character because he's upset at her, all for the sake of character development!?
A Bear Named Winnie: Lt. Coleburn 👿
He brings a bear to a military camp, A BEAR. Also leaves the bear at a zoo instead of releasing her back to the wild
Sherlock Holmes & The Case of the Silk Stocking: Charles Allen 👿👿👿👿
Even though it's two characters, I'm rating them the same. One's a child m*lester and murder and one knew about it and did nothing
The Agency: Martian 👿
Hmm he is knowingly putting himself, his daughter, the cia AND his girlfriend at risk because he can't let his relationship go? (Show is ongoing so we'll see if this changes)
Let me know what you think!
Share any suggestions of what movie I should watch next.

Been getting a bit back into Invincible stuff lately, especially what with Season 2 coming, and I remembered Nikki - the homeless girl whom Martian Man was friends with (and possibly living with?). And I still feel really bad about her honestly.
She's a pretty minor question but her role is both very tragic and also kinda raises several questions.
For one thing; why didn't Martian Man seemingly do anything for her? At least get her to social services or try to arrange some proper housing for her other than a condemned building. Is it due to lack of understanding of earth/humans due to being Martian? Or did he try but wasn't able to do anything?
There is probably an argument to be made that pulling strings for Nikki's sake would be too attention-drawing. People might notice this random homeless girl has some important connections and so keep an eye on her and might connect her to Martian Man.
She at least seemed to be still alive and getting food from the soup kitchen last she appeared. But still... given several other Guardians were shown with loved ones in the montage, it does give the implication that they were quite close, possibly even some kind of parental figure.
Given she's still homeless after his death and is never mentioned by others and also didn't appear to attend the funeral, it does give the impression as well that others are unaware of all. Although even if Martian Man did mention he was friends with a homeless kid; that's probably a fairly vague statement to go on and it'd probably be difficult tracking her down specifically.
But this means that while the families of the other guardians at least got to attend the funeral as a potential form of closure, and also could even possibly use one another for emotion support or appeal to the GDA for assistance... Nikki got none of those options or possibilities.
She's lost someone close to her and she doesn't appear to even have anyone to confide in or watch out for her; few would believe her if she tried discussing her feelings about Martian Man's death and even if they did it would only bring dangerous attention onto her.
Just a shitty situation all round for her and I kind of hope Season 2 shows she's continuing to at least do okay. Haven't read the comic (although I might) but from what I've seen it doesn't appear she was a comic character so I guess her fate's up to the show writers (assuming they choose to show her again anyway).

OPEN STARTER|THE AGENCY RP
This is an open starter with my OC, from the new showtime series, The Agency. Looking for someone open to playing Michael Fassbender’s character, Martian!
If interested in RP, just leave a reply or PM me!
The sound of rain droplets against the windows of the apartment filled the air, as a thunderstorm rolled over London. A deep breath escaped 24 year old Sarah Anderson’s lips, as she leaned back in her seat on the couch slightly. Her fingers wrapped tightly around a cup of tea, as her gaze never left that of the person sitting opposite of her. Martian, a highly skilled member of The Agency. Her father. “I fly thousands of miles across the world. Not to mention risk being tagged by god knows who to be here. “ Are you gonna at least tell me what the fuck The Agency has you doing back here after six years of being off the grid?”

The Space, Astronomy & Science Podcast. SpaceTime Series 27 Episode 36 *Mars Unveils a Colossal Volcanic Secret Astronomers have discovered a massive ancient volcano on Mars, hidden beneath an ice sheet in the planet's Tharsus volcanic province. This behemoth, which has eluded detection by orbiting spacecraft since 1971, could offer new insights into the Red Planet's geologic past and potential for life. The structure, tentatively named Noctus Volcano, stands over 29,600 feet tall and spans about 280 miles across. Its discovery near the labyrinthine Noctus Labyrinthus and the colossal Valles Marineris suggests a long history of volcanic activity and hints at the presence of glacial ice beneath its surface. *Europe's New Radar Mission to Monitor Climate Change The European Space Agency is gearing up for ROSAL, a cutting-edge Earth observation mission set to scrutinize the planet's oceans, land, and ice. With the largest deployable planar antenna array ever built, ROSAL will complement existing Copernicus Sentinel missions by using L-band radar to penetrate vegetation and ice, providing invaluable data for climate change research, agriculture, and geohazard monitoring. *International Space Station's Revolving Door It's been a bustling period aboard the ISS with multiple crew rotations. Axiom Space's third private mission has concluded, paving the way for their fourth venture and future space station modules. The arrival of NASA's SpaceX Crew-8 promises six months of groundbreaking experiments, including 3D organoid growth to study diseases. Meanwhile, SpaceX Crew-7's departure marks the end of a mission filled with over 250 experiments, ranging from immune cell behavior in microgravity to artificial retina production. *AI Robot Chemist Could Pave the Way for Martian Oxygen Production Scientists have developed an AI-powered robot chemist capable of extracting oxygen from Martian meteorites. This breakthrough suggests that future Mars missions might sustain human life and fuel rockets using the Red Planet's own resources. The AI robot's ability to identify and react chemicals to produce oxygen could revolutionize space exploration logistics and support long-term colonization efforts. What We Learned from Flying a Helicopter on Mars
The Ingenuity Mars Helicopter made history – not only as the first aircraft to perform powered, controlled flight on another world – but also for exceeding expectations, pushing the limits, and setting the stage for future NASA aerial exploration of other worlds.
Built as a technology demonstration designed to perform up to five experimental test flights over 30 days, Ingenuity performed flight operations from the Martian surface for almost three years. The helicopter ended its mission on Jan. 25, 2024, after sustaining damage to its rotor blades during its 72nd flight.
So, what did we learn from this small but mighty helicopter?
We can fly rotorcraft in the thin atmosphere of other planets.
Ingenuity proved that powered, controlled flight is possible on other worlds when it took to the Martian skies for the first time on April 19, 2021.
Flying on planets like Mars is no easy feat: The Red Planet has a significantly lower gravity – one-third that of Earth’s – and an extremely thin atmosphere, with only 1% the pressure at the surface compared to our planet. This means there are relatively few air molecules with which Ingenuity’s two 4-foot-wide (1.2-meter-wide) rotor blades can interact to achieve flight.
Ingenuity performed several flights dedicated to understanding key aerodynamic effects and how they interact with the structure and control system of the helicopter, providing us with a treasure-trove of data on how aircraft fly in the Martian atmosphere.
Now, we can use this knowledge to directly improve performance and reduce risk on future planetary aerial vehicles.
Creative solutions and “ingenuity” kept the helicopter flying longer than expected.
Over an extended mission that lasted for almost 1,000 Martian days (more than 33 times longer than originally planned), Ingenuity was upgraded with the ability to autonomously choose landing sites in treacherous terrain, dealt with a dead sensor, dusted itself off after dust storms, operated from 48 different airfields, performed three emergency landings, and survived a frigid Martian winter.
Fun fact: To keep costs low, the helicopter contained many off-the-shelf-commercial parts from the smartphone industry - parts that had never been tested in deep space. Those parts also surpassed expectations, proving durable throughout Ingenuity’s extended mission, and can inform future budget-conscious hardware solutions.
There is value in adding an aerial dimension to interplanetary surface missions.
Ingenuity traveled to Mars on the belly of the Perseverance rover, which served as the communications relay for Ingenuity and, therefore, was its constant companion. The helicopter also proved itself a helpful scout to the rover.
After its initial five flights in 2021, Ingenuity transitioned to an “operations demonstration,” serving as Perseverance’s eyes in the sky as it scouted science targets, potential rover routes, and inaccessible features, while also capturing stereo images for digital elevation maps.
Airborne assets like Ingenuity unlock a new dimension of exploration on Mars that we did not yet have – providing more pixels per meter of resolution for imaging than an orbiter and exploring locations a rover cannot reach.
Tech demos can pay off big time.
Ingenuity was flown as a technology demonstration payload on the Mars 2020 mission, and was a high risk, high reward, low-cost endeavor that paid off big. The data collected by the helicopter will be analyzed for years to come and will benefit future Mars and other planetary missions.
Just as the Sojourner rover led to the MER-class (Spirit and Opportunity) rovers, and the MSL-class (Curiosity and Perseverance) rovers, the team believes Ingenuity’s success will lead to future fleets of aircraft at Mars.
In general, NASA’s Technology Demonstration Missions test and advance new technologies, and then transition those capabilities to NASA missions, industry, and other government agencies. Chosen technologies are thoroughly ground- and flight-tested in relevant operating environments — reducing risks to future flight missions, gaining operational heritage and continuing NASA’s long history as a technological leader.

You can fall in love with robots on another planet.
Following in the tracks of beloved Martian rovers, the Ingenuity Mars Helicopter built up a worldwide fanbase. The Ingenuity team and public awaited every single flight with anticipation, awe, humor, and hope.

dp x dc Chronos part 5
Part 1 - Previous - Master list
Diana was furious.
She’d known her young uncle for only a handful of hours but here she was, ready to go to war for him. Perhaps that was what her grandfather had meant earlier, his words still ringing in her ears.
I have a task for you, Diana. One i do not think you will turn now but i’ll give you the illusion of choice.
Perhaps it was less an illusion and more her grandfather merely knowing ahead of time how she would react. If Danny was to be believed – and he did seem such a trustworthy boy – his Clockwork knew every path one could take.
She knew there were still questions to be asked, but Danny had been able to tell her a great deal before his eyes began to droop and she insisted he try to sleep. The curtains to the room had been left open and she watched as his eyes happily glazed over at the sight of open space before him. It had only taken minutes for him to fall asleep.
Now she had a lot of work to do and she planned to get as much done while Danny slept as she could.
She entered the conference room with a quick stride, many members already present for the meeting she had ordered via text. They’d learned that some equipment didn’t work well around Danny. Visuals were blurry at best and audio crackled into something indistinguishable. Diana had instead been texting information to Bruce and Kal to look into while she focused on the boy.
“Were you able to find anything?” She asked immediately, not elaborating on which fact she was talking about. She’d sent them so many little snippets that she didn’t really care where they started.
Batman just grunted, and despite wearing his cowl, she could see just how unhappy he was.
“You’re not going to like it, but you expected that.” Superman said, papers laid out in front of him. He wasn’t the only one doing his research.
Green Lantern and Flash were still there, the latter looking like he was having an existential crisis over the topic of ghosts.
Martian Manhunter had also arrived, his frown informing her that the others had caught him up on what had been happening.
“Can we confirm the truth as Danny has laid it out for us?” She asked, taking a seat.
“Oh, yeah.” Hal muttered, rubbing a hand down his face. “Constantine will arrive later, but he could confirm the new High King of the Infinite Realm went by Phantom. Never heard him sound so horrified as him learning that someone had punched a hole into another realm in their house though. Inter-dimensional war crimes on our end are stacking up.”
“Our end?” She asked.
“The GIW…” Bruce began, sounding a mixture of exhausted and livid. “Are completely out of their depth and did not have the authority to just name a species unidentified to the rest of us as non-sentient. If the Infinite Realm retaliates, and John thinks it’s a possibility, it won’t just be aimed at the GIW alone but the entire dimension. That makes this more of a mess for us to clean up than it already was.”
They’d already decided to help, that was what they did. But there was a difference in lending a hand and righting a wrong and taking responsibility for someone else’s fuck ups because they had to.
“Can we prove it?” Diana asked.
“Absolutely.” Kal nodded. “Honestly, for a government agency, their security is a joke. There was a backdoor already in place. We can ask Danny about that later.”
Diana nodded, certain the information would be good in his hands. She turned her attention back to Bruce. “The Fentons?”
There was a certain level of disgust that tried to choke her out in that situation. Danny had been so hesitant, the betrayal fresh and painful. She had lived in the World of Men for a long time now and it had as many delights as it did drawbacks, but to learn what Danny’s parents had attempted to do to him left her burning to seek them out herself.
His mother had lost her privilege to refer to herself as such.
She didn’t care what the circumstances were. Capture and torture with the intentions of vivisection was inexcusable. The target being a child made it all the more heinous. Diana knew Batman would understand without her saying a word.
“Run of the mill mad scientists. They might have been onto something once when it came to energy but their bias took over. Even if they had been correct about ecto-entities, their language is incredibly inappropriate. No licenced and competent science journal would be associated with that.” He stared at her unhappily. “They’re lunatics. The fact that their children grew up in their home is outrageous.” He hit a button on the remote and a location appeared on the computer screens.
A bricked house on a street corner, enormous Fenton Works sign taking up most of the front. It was an eyesore, but not as much as the sci-fi looking shuttle sticking out of the roof. The OHSA violations alone should have had the building condemned and there was no way permits had been granted for any of that construction.
It was a supervillain's dream and not the least bit subtle. It should have been a crime in itself for the town to allow it to remain in a residential area and was shocking that no calls to Child Protective Services had been made.
Yes, Danny was an exceptional being, but Diana understood now all the likely scenarios where he could have died in that house. Danny had called his death an accident, but she wasn’t so certain about that. “They were the ones to hurt him.” Diana said, hating how her throat was tight. She was already emotionally compromised.
“Yes, i know.”
Diana’s attention snapped back to him. “How?”
“Simple reasoning. They are unstable ghost hunters with questionable science. Danny was removed from his home for his safety. Chronos said he needed a guardian. That doesn’t paint a pretty picture.” Bruce muttered. “Either his guardians couldn’t care for him, or shouldn’t care for him.”
She felt her shoulders relax somewhat, knowing that such a logical conclusion should have occurred to her too. She really was worried about Danny’s recovery. “We can add it to the file i know you’ve created, but i’d prefer if no one asked him about that at this time. This last attack only happened several days ago and it is still fresh on his mind.”
Bruce’s eyes narrowed, always a hound when it came to sniffing out abused kids. “This last attack?”
“They’ve been after him for a while.” Diana hummed, though she’d only had a vague example or two since Danny hadn’t wanted to get into it. She couldn’t imagine how he’d just returned home every day to parents who tried to capture his other persona.
“We must factor in his identity.” Martian Manhunter approached them, having been listening. J’onn had been doing his own research the last several hours. He laid down a startlingly clear picture of Danny in his white haired ghost form. A print out of an Amity Park newspaper article.
“What is that?” Bruce frowned, sliding it closer to read.
“The hero of Amity Park. Phantom. The articles are biased and unfavorable, but that is not the current accepted public opinion. Phantom protects the living from ghosts. He also protects the ghosts from the ghost hunters.” J’onn explained, voice carefully neutral. “Phantom appearing other places, perhaps shouldn’t coincide with where Daniel Fenton ends up.”
“A name change could be warranted. If that’s what he wants.” Bruce adds.
J’onn gave a single nod. “It’s a great deal of pressure on one teenager's shoulders. Being a king of a realm on top of that…”
It was silently agreed upon that Danny deserved this break and Diana was going to get it for him.
“It was only a matter of time before something had to give.” Diana said, turning enough to speak to everyone in the room. “Well he won’t be dealing with all of that alone now. We start with dismantling the GIW, appealing the Anti-Ecto Acts, and smoothing over our relations with the Infinite Realm.”
“Only that much, huh?” Flash muttered, trying to wrap his head around the science of ghost hunting.
“Why not get some of the kids involved. Young Justice, maybe?” Hal was rubbing his eyes, not looking forward to the consequences of this mess. “Once he heals it might do him some good to be around others closer to his own age. People he wouldn’t need to hide half of himself from.”
When put like that, Diana could only agree.
“I’ll mention it to him.” “I’ll get the information i have to Lois.” Clark said, sliding his papers into a binder. “If public opinion of Phantom is already decent in Amity Park, then we’ll up the exposure to put pressure on our oblivious government.”
“I’ll take a few of the GIW facilities.” Bruce muttered, but he had that familiar tone that said he was about to let his children go buck wild. “A little recon…” he added vaguely.
Before anyone else could put in their own two cents, the sensors went off, exactly how they had before Chronos had arrived. A paranormal knock of sorts before the very air seemed to split in two, a glowing green portal building around it.
“Here we go again.” Barry muttered, each of them surrounding the portal as they’d done early for safety’s sake but they were less inclined to fight immediately.
As J’onn was seeing it for the first time, he remained near Diana, keenly watching the portal manifest. It wasn’t Chronos who stepped out though, it wasn’t human at all.
From the portal stepped a creature that Diana didn’t have the name for. Bipedal, humanoid, but beast like in appearance. Horns on his head and spikes from his tail made of ice were noticed secondary to his arm of ice that still encased his bones inside. His fur was white, his claws could easily kill and he was covered by a kilt and cape.
What gave Diana pause as the bag slung over one shoulder, the tell tale signs of a medical cross across the front.
“Who are you?” Superman asked, more polite than their earlier run in with her grandfather.
The creature, a ghost presumably, held himself rigid. He was doing a great deal to make himself appear smaller then he was but his gaze was assessing. He was ready to fight if necessary.
“I am here for His Majesty, the Great One.” Was his response.
Diana stepped forward, deciding this was exactly what she suspected. “I am Diana. Granddaughter of Chronos who Danny fondly calls Clockwork. You are Frostbite, come to check on Danny, yes?”
All of his attention was on her now, but he seemed to see what he wanted in her after locking eyes. “I am. Frostbite, Ruler of the Infinite Realm’s Far Frozen. I have come to see Our Savior the King, as his primary physician.”
“He’s a doctor.” Flash whispered.
“Fascinating.” J’onn muttered, sounding a little winded by whatever he was sensing. “He is who he claims.”
“I’m relieved.” Diana muttered, approaching him with a smile this time. “Please come with me and i will take you to Danny. I’m afraid we did what we could but his unique biology left us questioning our choices. He is resting in a private room.”
“Did something happen to setback his recovery?” Frostbite asked, serious over the care of his charge as he followed Wonder Woman out of the conference room without so much as a glance back at the other heros.
“Excitement, i believe.” Diana offered. “He may have been a little too excited to show off his alternate, living form and seemed to forget his condition.”
Frostbite actually snorted. “Sounds like him.”
“I did not realize how badly wounded he was. We had been talking about our arrangements and he was answering my questions about ghosts. He appeared sore, but fairly pleased to speak with me. Given what he had just been through…”
Frostbite grunted his agreement. “His heart is soft, but his will is unlike anything i have ever known. Many of us saw this tragedy coming, but he insisted on seeing it out for himself, hoping for a favorable ending.”
Diana cracked her knuckles out of habit, that anger still simmering. “He will be safe in my care, i assure you.”
“The Great One is the rightful King to our realm, but many forget he is still just a child.” Frostbite said, eyeing her even as she led him through the Watchtower.
“It is not something i am likely to forget.” Not after she’d seen how small he was in their medbay bed. “He’s resting but weak, you can help?”
“As long as he has not taken more damage, i’m sure i can.” Frostbite said, a gentleness to his voice as they stopped at Danny’s room. Diana went in first to prove the area was a safe one but that may not have mattered given how quickly Frostbite followed her.
He was at Danny’s bedside in an instant, having somehow moved passed her without knocking into her. He could have gone through her for all she knew. For all he seemed to be a hulking beast, Frostbite was nothing but gentle as he examined Danny. He looked over any and all work that had been done to Danny since his arrival, and checked the bandages across his torso. He went as far as to grab the clipboard on the foot of Danny’s bed to read, having no trouble understanding the medical jargon.
From his medical bag, he pulled out several small bottles, all of them growing a toxic green. Injections were given to the teenager, and it didn’t seem to matter that he was in his living, dark haired form.
“Has he explained to you what it means to be a halfa?” Frostbite finally asked, breaking the silence.
“Only in vague, teenager terms.” Diana said. She’d been quite sure that Danny’s flippant attitude was more a coping mechanism than anything.
Frostbite just hummed. “Then i will have to fill you in.”

Is there an age limit chapter 3 - Christmas edition
Wrapped in a straitjacket, his utility belt and every gadget stripped away, Batman pulled himself up to a sitting position and scanned the room.
Across the room, Superman was sweating bullets — his face as green as the kryptonite handcuffs that chained him to the wall.
Wonder Woman, in the WayneTech Virtual Reality suit, was in her own world, fighting imaginary battles, unaware of their plight.
Green Lantern was trapped in a yellow cube.
In the agency cage of fire, Martian Manhatter had lost his humanoid form — incapacitated by terror.
Green Arrow without his arrows. Black Canary was gagged and had a metapower inhibiter collar around her neck. Both of them were in straitjackets, unable to escape.
Flash was trapped in a containment field which severed his connection to the Speed Force.
A bald man in a lab coat, calling himself the Master of the World, taunted the Dark Knight with empty boxes that once contained Batman’s contingency plans and resources he had prepared to take down each and every member of the Justice League, should the need arise.
Checking his watch, he announced. “It’s 3pm. Time for Captain Marvel to show up to save his friends.”
He loaded a gun with bullets from the box with Captain Marvel’s lightning on it. These bullets were made of pure lead — deadly to Daxamites.
“Why put one into his shoulder when I can shoot all of them into his heart?” The villain cackled.
Batman’s contingency plans were never meant to kill. They were to neutralise members of the Justice League when they are under mind control or go rogue, or otherwise become a threat to humanity.
Captain Marvel crashed to the roof, landing in front of the villain.
“Release them,” said the Big Red Cheese.
Click
“Duck,” Batman growled. “Pure lead bullets!”
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Bang!
Captain Marvel didn’t flinch as the flurry of bullets struck his chest, bouncing off without leaving a scratch.
“My turn,” he tapped the villain’s shiny head, knocking him unconscious.
He looked at the boxes with their insignias and stared at Batman. His eyes blazed with anger while his smile dropped as he scrutinised Batman.
“Is this what I think it is?” Disappointment coloured his voice.
“Hm.” Batman glared back.
“Then you’ll know how to free them,” Captain Marvel’s brilliant smile returned as he ripped open the straitjacket, releasing Batman.
So he’s not Kryptonian. He’s not Daxamite.
What was he?
*
Back in the Watchtower, the atmosphere turned chilly. Every hero gave him the cold shoulder. They should. In their line of work, it was unwise to trust so easily. A certain level of paranoia was essential for survival.
Martian Manhunter sat in the break room, still shaken by his exposure to fire. He refused to look at Batman.
“Have some milk and cookies,” Captain Marvel walked in with a tray. It held a plate piled high with an assortment of chocolate cookies with cream centres, and two glasses of milk. “This really helps after a tough day.”
The alarm went off.
There was yet another alien invasion.
Did the various alien races have some kind of time table to invade the earth on a monthly basis?
The screen showed an armada of fiery spaceships that covered all visible space. His sensors showed each ship exuded flames with heat that rivalled the sun’s core.
“Hold this," he handed the tray to Batman.
Captain Marvel beamed, “I call dibs on this invasion.”
A blur of red cleared the sky of the fiery orbs in a blink of an eye.
The Captain was back in the room, with another mug of milk in hand. “Join us for milk and cookies?” He beamed at Batman.
*
It was the night before Christmas. Batman hadn’t a clue who or what Captain Marvel really was. He was only available outside elementary school hours, so he had to be an elementary school teacher, but the bat computer scanned the photos of every elementary school teacher in the country but couldn’t match any of them with the elusive Captain.
As he retired for the night, he noticed milk and cookies laid out near the entrance of each home. Even his own children would set out milk and cookies for Santa Claus before they go to bed on Christmas Eve.
He looked at the chimneys. Santa was known to enter homes through chimneys. Some fireplaces were still burning, so Santa had to be flame proof.
In one single night, Santa visits every home in the entire world, delivering presents to those who have been good, and coal to those who have been naughty. Bruce knew. Ever since he started those contingency plans to take down every one of his team mates, he had been getting a coal in his stocking every Christmas.
The clues fell in place.
Captain Marvel loves milk and cookies.
He’s great with the kids.
He’s flame proof, which meant, going down the chimney while the fire is still burning wouldn’t bother him.
He moves so fast, he could visit every home in the world in one night.
The way he looked at Batman after seeing the contingency boxes in use, reminded him of how his dad would look at Bruce when he was naughty.
That bright red suit and white cape - same red as Santa's suit. Same white as the trimmings.
The perpetual smile.
The Captain’s favourite catchphrase — “Holy Moley” — “Ho Ho Ho.”
Of course.
He knew Captain Marvel’s real identity.
Captain Marvel is Santa Claus!

Potential DPxDC prompt The Justice League investigates the detonation of a covert government laboratory that whistleblowers warned officials about, speaking of human experiments and the torture and execution of nonhuman entities. Thanks to Superman, they discover some lower levels aren't completely caved in. With Martian Manhunter, they could begin to investigate in person if there were any survivors as they worked on creating a physical passageway for everyone else. J'onn discovers room after room of executed subjects and puddled remains of likely were former subjects. All except one room. In that room remained some creature that seemed partly human, but left partly liquid by whatever they injected into the subject that killed the rest. The subject was alive, but only just. With the one confirmed survivor, the tunnel into the facility sped up and information on how to stabilize the subject found in one of the intact computers. The government agency, thankfully, trusted in the explosion to destroy this information rather than a proper data wipe. The fact that the drug needed was named "Ecto-Dejecto" was disturbing, but it did work to cause the half human, half unknown entity to stabilize into something beyond a non-Newtonian liquid. Now the question was if they'd manage to wake up and inform them of just what this "G.I.W." were about.

hello i just watched Desd Boy Detectives (and LOVE IT) but there is something that has been eating away at me and i must ask (though i suspect the answer is no)
so it’s seen that the new DBD takes place in the same universe as the Sandman show, and of course as you are well aware both come from DC properties. in HBO’s Doom Patrol season 3 episode 3 titled “Dead Patrol” we meet the Dead Boy Detective Agency. Doom Patrol takes place in the same universe as another DC show called Titans, which follows Dick Grayson and depicts classic DC characters such as Batman and suchlike. so. i’m sure you can see what i’m getting at here:
Does Batman/Superman/etc. exist in the universe of the Sandman netflix show and has Dream met Batman? thank you for your time
When I was writing Sandman people would ask similar questions, and I would explain that the Sandman universe and the DC universe were contiguous, but it was a very long bus journey from one to the other, and you have to change buses several times.
For the Netflix Sandman question, perhaps the DC Comics multiverse idea is the best. There's a universe in which the Dead Boy Detectives exist and met the Doom Patrol and were younger and Edwin was blond. And that's the universe where Dream has met Batman, and the Martian Manhunter as well. And it has a John Constantine in it. And then there's the universe on Netflix with Joanna Constantine in it.
