There was no way Indi was dressing up as anything but Poison Ivy from the DC Comics — yes, she liked comic books and Ivy was a character she resonated with. Not only was Ivy queen of nature but she was so out of love as respect. Not to mention she was hot. So was Indi when she let herself be and what better time than Halloween to indulge?

As she strutted down the street in the barely there costume that she grew herself, Indi was on top of the world. She could feel eyes scanning her and children’s eyes being covered by their parents. The smile covering the witch’s face was so big she hardly had eyes. The costume was having its intended effect.

She spotted Regulus dressed in flames with Loki sadly beside him. She wondered if he even realized how sad the cat looked with three heads. She and Regulus had been great, long time friends so she had to immediately go over and give him hell.

“Hades?” Indi glanced down at Loki. “What are you doing to that poor cat?” She leaned over and patted each head softly. “Couldn’t you do better than all this mythological …stuff going on around here?”

Sometimes, James is afraid all of this might be a dream.

He’s always lived a pretty happy life. He grew up in a warm, loving home with parents who were well-off. He had the best of friends back at Hogwarts and keeps in touch with many of them even now. He likes his job, married the love of his life and they moved into the cosiest of homes a few years ago.

He truly hadn’t believed he could become any happier. And then Harry was born.

James can’t put into words how overwhelmed he feels with love and affection as he watches Regulus feed their boy spoonfuls of the baby food he prepared earlier.

Harry’s chubby cheeks are covered in the green sludge, and his husband has seemingly given up on cleaning them in between bites. James can’t blame him. It’s a rather useless undertaking.

Regulus hums interestedly as Harry babbles nonsensically, and all James can do is watch him in silence. His lover is tired, he can tell, but being the amazing father he is, he puts in unshakable effort when it comes to caring for their son.

It’s inspiring. James finds himself falling in love all over again as he watches him flourish in his role as a parent.

Once the bowl of food has been emptied, Regulus wipes a satisfied Harry’s cheeks one last time and then lifts him out of his seat.

“Let’s go pick out an outfit for Teddy’s birthday party, huh?” He says, smiling at their son as he leans against his chest. “Oh, Jamie, let’s put him in those little overalls we got him, Sirius is going to lose his mi— Are you crying?”

James blinks rapidly in an attempt to get rid of the tears that have started to form in the corners of his eyes. He knows it’s silly, but it’s almost like becoming a dad has made him so much more emotional.

Regulus walks up to him, and when he comes to a stop next to his chair, James wraps an arm around him and allows Harry to reach for his glasses.

“I’m just really happy…” He whispers.

Regulus huffs and looks rather amused by his explanation. “You’re a huge sap, Potter.” He says, but he does lean in to press a comforting kiss to his forehead.

This time around, James is one hundred percent certain; this is what peak happiness feels like.

Aphrodite's Fool and the Deadman's Husband

Barty has become accustomed to the glint in Regulus' eyes when he gets up the no good. Years of being friends and boyfriends do that to you. When a plain grey turns into a shiny silver from the light of mischief becoming prominent.

It had been the first thing that made him as pathetically in love as he is now. When Regulus' eyes shined with the idea of an escape plan out of detention, one that would leave a mess that could not be pinned to the group of Slytherins and their token Ravenclaw back in their 3rd year, Barty was a goner since.

He stops seeing the beautiful silver when Regulus gets the dark mark. The other was always seemingly in his head or in his music sheets.

"The way his love was like water, Flowing freely through the bed."

Barty gets dreams of Regulus when his disappearance is marked as death. They are all the same visions of a contorting body, his ears filled with moans and screams so loud that he can't tell if they are hurting his ears or throat.

"I was a thirsty boy then,  and now I am a dying man. I beg in front of Aphrodite, pleading for water."

He doesn't want to count how many days it's been. But his mind continuously does so. It's been 14 years. All 5,110 days he recounts with the vivid memories of no Regulus around. Barty fears he might be forgetting how his lover's eyes would be a light grey when he's feeling mischievous, the long painted nails with black polish, and the original soft black of Regulus' eyes. He feels he's forgetting but he doesn't know what, nor does he want to know what. Fearing it would confirm his fading memory.

Barty just wants Regulus again, to touch him, to hold him, to talk to him. He wants Regulus again. He needs him. Just once more. Just to hear him as well, the way he would chuckle in amusement, the hushed whispers where he would pour his heart out to Barty, and just the way he would call him, "My love."

It becomes more unbearable when Barty finds himself on his knees, praying to the muggles' god with a cheap and worn-down plastic cross he found on the ground clasped so tightly in his hand until his palms and knees are red and blue, bruised and rendering him in pain the next morning. Pleading for a chance to see or hear his lover once more. Pleading for Regulus to just show up and take him away from this imperious hell of the same walls he had always felt so alone in.

He can only beg.

Fortnight (feat Post Malone): This song is so Jegulus coded. Regulus as Taylor and James as Post Malone. The first lines are so Regulus. “I was supposed to be sent away but they forgot to come and get me/ I was a functioning alcoholic/ ‘til nobody noticed my new aesthetic.” The people that forgot to come and get him are his parents and the functioning alcoholic but us after him and James breaking up being self destructive.

The chorus is James and Regulus interacting “And for a fortnight there, we were forever/ Run into you sometimes, ask about the weather/ Now you're in my backyard, turned into good neighbors/ Your wife waters flowers, I wanna kill her.” Regulus is jealous of Lily and bringing up him and James’s past.

“I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary/ And I love you, it's ruining my life” The miracle move on drug is a rebound like Barty but Barty is cheating with Evan which ties into the later line “my husband is cheating, I wanna kill him.” “I love you it’s ruining my life” is because all he can think about is James and their past. James repeats it because he’s still in love with Regulus even though he is with Lily.

The last couple of lines “Thought of callin' ya, but you won't pick up/ 'Nother fortnight lost in America/ Move to Florida, buy the car you want/ But it won't start up 'til you touch, touch, touch me” is James talking to Regulus. He wants to rekindle their relationship but he doesn’t know if Regulus is interested. America is representing Lily. The last two lines are saying that he can do what he wants but not to do it without James by his side.

I don’t really know if this makes sense but ever since I heard this song, this is all I can think about. Please someone tell me i’m not crazy lol.

The problem of positivity

An angsty jegulus microfic ft. Bartylus

The thing with James Potter is that, sometimes, his endless positivity can blind him.

His mother has warned him, Sirius has warned him, everyone that he is close and comfortable with has warned him. Nevertheless, James has never seen his positivity as a flaw before.

Not until now.

Now, James knew well that developing a massive crush in Regulus Black a the tender age of 12 might not have been the best idea on the world, but his endless positivity made it almost impossible to not at least try to make Regulus to like him, and after a couple of years, he got to be one of the people Regulus considered as a 'friend'.

For a while that was nice, awesome even, but James sometimes got greedy, and awesome was not enough then.

It started with the light touches of shoulder against shoulder, a soft touch of hands that could pass as an accident or the press of thighs when they seated besides one another in the library.

Then, the little details James had with Reg like buying him broom polish when he knew he was running out or new rings he knew Regulus would love, giving him little trinkets he found in the forest that he knew Regulus would like or giving him little flowers that grew around all the castle.

It was also the light flirting that James could pass as his personality all the time, complimenting Regulus until he could see the almost imperceptible brush of color in his cheeks. James did everything he could so Regulus could even notice him in other way that wasn't friendship, and until before the Summer, James thought he was managing that, he was positive that he was in the good road to win Regulus affections.

They even sent letters to each other over the summer, and Regulus replies always sounded so fond that it gave James heart way too much hope.

As he was walking excitedly towards the Hogwarts Express, James got a surge of courage that flowed intensely inside if him. He was as sure as one could be in this type of situation, he was a Gryffindor for Merlin's sake! He should just go and confess right now while he had the courage to do so, so he did just that.

The train was overflowing with students, new and old alike, but as he and his friends always used the same cabin, he knew Regulus and his friends did the same, so he went straight to it.

He was a knit of nerves even before seeing Regulus, and at some point he even felt some strange goosebumps when he was just 2 cabins away, but honestly James just thought the nerves were getting the best of him, so he should do this quick before he lost his bravery. Regulus was probably just relaxing in his seat with a book while he waited for his other friends to come (he always got to the station early), and the mental image of that made James want to melt.

When he opened the cabin's door, he did not find Regulus reading a book beside the window seat.

What he found instead, was Regulus kissing Barty Crouch Jr.

"Oh."

Oh.

He was such a fool, wasn't he?

Everything shattered around him, his vision clouded a little with an accumulation of tears and heartbreak that burned his eyes. His heart was throbbing so painfully James just wanted to take it out of his ribcage and throw it out of the window.

That would have hurt less than what he was seeing right now.

His little 'oh' apparently alerted the two boys in front of him that they weren't alone anymore, so they stopped kissing almost inmediately, but sadly James could not erase that image out of his mind.

Regulus eyes bulged out of his sockets when he saw James, and even in his heartbreak, James knew he should make sure Regulus was not afraid.

"Im sorry" James croaked, willing his eyes not to spill the tears that were building and commanding his voice to not sound so broken "I'll leave you two right now. Happy for you guys"

"James-" Regulus called, but the walls he hazphardly builded were started to crumbling down, so he just shut the door hard and tightly closed his eyes and started to (try to) breath.

And there James stood, a lovesick idiot who was foolish enough to think he got Regulus Black's heart, already grieving his loss.

'That could have been me' James thought miserably, as he started to run in the opposite direction of the cabin

'No, don't fool yourself, he was never yours, not really' That was the truth, Regulus never really wanted James, not in the way James wanted him.

And isn't that the most pathetic part of it all? To miss something that has never really happened, to mourn something he never truly had?

'You were wrong. You are stupid. You were wrong. You are stupid. You were wrong. You are stupid. You were wrong, You were wrong, You were wrong, YouwerewrongYouwerewrongYouwerewrongYouwerewrongYouwere-' James found an empty cabin at the end of the train, so he just shut himself in there. Finally, in the privacy of the cabin, all the walls crumbled down like castles of sand, all the breath he was forcefully trying to keep in his chest flowed out in a heartbroken cry.

No one was able to find James for the rest of the ride to Hogwarts, but if he had looked at Regulus one last time before bolting out of the cabin, he would have seen Regulus' heartbroken eyes.

he clenches his jaw when he sees some random guy from slytherin come up to you as you're studying with your friends and just.. stand there, next to you

he hasn't done anything yet but ron knows better. harry notices how tense and agitated his bestfriend is and follows his eyes and that's when he saw a guy from slytherin talking to you, staring down at you in awe .

oh, oh. harry knows what's up now. he nudges hermione who was writing down notes from their previous lesson. she looks annoyed at first but after looking at ron before looking at you, she understands what's happening and smirks.

"ron, don't you think you should grab y/n now? you wouldn't want him to snatch them up do you, now?"

he only grunts in response and grumbles angrily before (after harry cheered him on with a grin) standing up and stomping towards you, well, more like the boy really.

while the boy is walking away you could see ron smiling proudly. "yeah that's right, im her boyfriend, skedaddle you git"

while you two are walking through the hall (hip to hip) and he *can just* sense that there's a person right behind you who has their eye on you, he slowly turns his head around but not enough for you to notice and just side eyes them like damn

𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗴𝗲𝘁𝘀 𝗷𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗲'𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹! he has quite an ego but not an abnormally large one. he knows he's not ugly and never doubts himself.

(and he makes sure that you aren't doubting yourself!!)

so he never gets reaaally jealous or doubts himself when he sees someone eyeing you suspiciously.

he can control his temper but sometimes he lets some actions slip. for example: clenching his jaws and eyeing the soon-to-be-hexed-victim and not taking his eyes off of them.

cedric is pretty popular in hogwarts so that mean that everybody knows that you're his lover (unless you or he wants to keep it a secret but why would he?? he would be proud to have someone like you!)

but when cedric does get jealous... it's not so bad actually!!! he's never that jealous. well not jealous to the point where he despises them for his whole life and give them death glares, good god, never.

but when he sees a guy that he doesn't really like talking to you and leans too close to you, it pulls on his heartstrings and he hates it.

inside he's thinking "now why would you do that?! you have the AUDACITY to talk to my one and only!!!"

but after seeing you hang out with that guy he makes sure to subtly let them know that you're already taken (shouldn't he already know??)

swapping scarves, making sure to be by your side all the time, his hand on your waist, giving you his fragrance so that you could use it all the time (and then the guy sniffs the air and he's like "why do you smell like cedric?")

𝗰𝗲𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗯𝘃𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗧𝗢𝗚𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗢𝗚𝗘𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥 but somehow the boy just doesn't get it!!

when he asks you for help in potions class cedric butts in and offers to help him instead of you, and you don't miss the pout on his face as he turns away.

he tries to show off his skills in quidditch to which you only smile at before cedric shows up and proceeds to just make the guy look like he was a joke.

and everybody including cedric and you notices how red and angry he looks like.. calm down

𝗵𝗲'𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝘁𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝘁, 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀, 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼 𝗼𝗻. for the other boys it may take them forever to talk to you about it, but cedric? only takes about a day or so, depending on how much the boy is bothering you.

when you're away from the pestering boy and your friends he pulls you aside and talks to you about what he thinks about the guy and how he's feeling.

you understand his words and nod along, agreeing with what he said. "i'll keep your words in mind, if it makes you more comfortable i could maybe talk to him about it? maybe ignore him?"

cedric is more than happy when you do ignore him/talk to him about it.

and at the end of the day and from that very day he walks by you and cedric with a scowl and a red face.

𝗝𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀, 𝗷𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀, 𝗷𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗯𝗼𝘆

regulus a. black

𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. regulus always had to give everybody death stares, even if it wasn't intentional. but to you? his gaze softens, his face seems to rest, his body relaxes and his heart starts to beat fast.

so there is, without a doubt that he will give everybody death stares and dirties except you.

and it didn't change when you two got into a relationship.. like at all... so when he sees somebody stare at you for too long (over 8 seconds) he walks over to you, passing the person and giving the most death glariest of them all.

and of course they turn their head around and pretend to focus on their work.

"mm oh yes.. this and that..." and then they stop muttering once they feel that regulus is away but when they turn to look at you once more they see regulus sitting right beside you, and even though his head is turned to face you, with a soft smile on his face, they can see that regulus is glaring at them at the same time.

scary.

𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗔𝗫, the bar is FILLED.

before you two started to date he would always be within you vicinity, some may say that it was creepy or stalker behaviour but he really just didn't want you to be bullied by his fellow slytherin so called "friends"

and the first time he saw them bully you he immediately decided, right there and then, to ignore them for the rest of his life, never help them with their homework or even interact with them. not when they hurt and outright said many hurtful things to your face.

he would be sitting beside a large tree, pretending to do his work in his book while watching you like a hawk

and when regulus sees his ex-friends or somebody/a group of people walking up to you that he deems suspicious he's quick to mutter a jinx and watch the scene unfold

many people that were around that area burst out laughing from seeing someone with jelly-like legs, and best of all, you were laughing as well!!

so you can best believe that regulus will always be there for you, jinxing whoever dares to mess with you and making sure no teachers can do a counter-curse.

𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘁𝘆. just a little bit...

but he won't ignore you on purpose forever you know, he's not that mean and petty. but when he's feeling VERY jealous then he may just give you the cold shoulder, for 10 seconds aprox, or less.

𝗮𝗵 𝘆𝗲𝘀, 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀. "i will jinx you. don't make me." "come near y/n ever again and my wand might just be in my hand and i may just accidentally flick my wand, that is coincidentally pointed at you, and 'accidentally' jinx you! or worse, hex."

he even uses his house as a threat.

"as you know.. my house is slytherin, and if you didn't know, most slytherins as the people say, are death eaters. so watch yourself now. come close to y/n and don't be surprised if the dark lord appears in your room."

he's not the type to overload you with hugs and pda, unless you like it, but when he knows and SEES that somebody is trying to flirt with you he is a whole different person.
