May 25: Happy 42nd Birthday to Voice Actress Fryda Wolff, who provided the voice of the celestial being who was the antagonist of the series (secondary in Season 2 and one of the two central antagonists in Season 3) who previously teamed up with Belos before being deceived as The Owl House character of The Collector.

Ik I said mini things about him on my other post but oh well. Here's some random thingies.

- Despite being Mr. Dark's henchmen/helper, he looks up to Rayman at times, even though he is always the main target for Joxster's pranks. It's a bit of a strange admiration. He likes to prank the thingamajig and try to take down Rayman for his boss, but finds him cool and entertaining.

- He tends to wear a hoodie that strikes resemblance to Rayman's, besides color, which he got from The Legend.

- He is impatient, mischievous, childish in nature, and quite emotional.

- He tends to call everyone his friend and sees them as just objects.

- He likes to shape-shift too, either to mess with people or to just show off (despite how his colors give him away. Again ik I said these in the last post but I have a doodles for them now shh).

- He likes to follow Mr. Dark around all the time and talk his head off.

- Regularly goes to The Glade of Dreams just to stir up trouble

- Likes to collect bones and rocks

Avi Roque sheer fury when Raine shouts, “I said GET OUT!”

Sarah-Nicole Robles’s little whimpers of pain and fear as the Belos rot took over  Luz’s body.

Wendie Malick’s gravelly grief/rage when Eda says, “I don’t think I can control myself right now”

Or Fryda Wolff’s multiple voice breaks when the Collector was trying to figure out what happened to Luz, notable “why won’t it stop” in response to his tears

Contextual Lore:

The song is a sea shanty most likely sung by inhabitants of the Barren Seas, a desert wasteland that used to be the Aldern sea, home to the archipelago islands where the pirates of alders once sailed. My theory is that the lead vocal is Talia Stareyes herself, the last of the pirate queens of Alders and the leader of the mage hunters.

The islands of Alders were once a powerful nation, but were punished by the godwizards after severely wronging them. The punishment was having their islands near completely destroyed, and their home was turned into a cluster of smaller archipelagos. Afterwards they became of nation of pirates and pirate queens that ruled the seas.

Centuries later when the shatter happened and broke the world, the oceans drained into the vast abyss below and the Aldern sea was reduced to a barren, boiling desert, rife with fauna mutated by the raw magic left behind from the event. Now, the people of the Barren Seas now hold an intense grudge and resentment of magic for all the destruction it has caused to their world.
