Okay my running theory is that Lucy got ragemage'd (hence the crystallised blood in her that the cast speculated comes from a red crystal making someone rage to death) and that the attack wounds on her were because the rat grinders did in fact have to kill her out of self defence. They started using Devil's nectar so that they could lie about the incident, and in the process they've lost their memories to varying degrees. Oisin could even have forgotten entirely, and that's why Kipperlily (maybe out of sympathy) wants to keep him out of it.

I reckon that they aren't actually working in service of Ankarna, but that the members who still remember what happened are investigating the god just like the bad kids, and any traces of them being involved in the revival have come from accidents like Adaine saying the name.

It could also be interesting if they maybe were previously involved with Ankarna and that's what got Lucy ragemage'd in the first place, but through their use of Devil's nectar they don't even remember it anymore. They just know this god possessed Lucy, with no idea how or why thanks to the holes in their memories.

see i still have questions about the existence of mcr and fob in the fantasy high universe.

fall out boy exists. canonically, pete wentz is 17 years old, making andy hurley 16, and joe trohman + patrick stump 12. so the earliest album they could have out is eowyg, or tttyg at the LATEST. (bc clearly, they’re popular enough to have made an impact in the emo/pop punk/alternative scene, so much so that fig brings up pete’s name as an attempt to show ruben how #cool and #emo wanda childa is)

what does this say about mcr? its unclear if my clerical gnomance is (in universe) directly copying mcr, or if they (ruben + his band) came up with the name. if it’s the latter, that means that we’re looking at a world where mcr doesn’t exist, but fob does.

i’m somehow more confused if it’s the former. mcr existing means that 9/11 happened (or an equivalently traumatic event happened in Solace), but also. the logo used for Ruben’s band is the one mcr used for the black parade. so does that mean that mcr is 3 years ahead of fob? how old would they be then? when did they start their career? who is letting all these teenagers start bands and have nation wide tours????

does this mean that fig & the cig figs potentially toured alongside mcr/fob? (or. ok. ik F&tCF is a heavy metal band. mcr and fob both lean more towards pop-punk/rock but. surely they’d both be AWARE of each other?)

these could all be called plot holes, sure, if this was anything other than a role-playing dnd comedy campaign. so you know. maybe i’m the one who’s putting too much thought into a few off-hand comments.

Heading to sleep again soon, but just wanted to still say thanks to those who stuck around despite my sudden spouts of public anger/saltiness, and even more thanks to those who gave support.

Some of the most tragic homes I've seen were merely a shelter, something to fend against the elements, and nothing more. It leads me to wonder which is the real tragedy? Is it being forced to abandon what we could've been, our morals, or whatever It may be to simply survive? Is it a tragedy when it is no longer an option to live but a choice to not die? Is that the real tragedy? The loss of desire? The lack of want? The right to live being taxed? In which all that remains is need? Though there isn't a loss or lack of desire, is there? It is surely there but neglected out of necessity; all that remains is unfulfilled longing. The tragedy, which is our system that ensures we no longer need to be animals, we no longer need to survive and hunt and defend, that we can be civilized, continues to fail? And oftentimes on purpose. What is wrong? What is wrong with this system? What is wrong with those who made it? Is that not a question we often find ourselves asking? What is wrong?

What is wrong with the brain? The body? The systems and the histories and the children and the economy and environment! What is wrong with it all! With me! With them! Is that not why we create science and philosophy and religion? to figure out what is wrong with it all? And do we not categorize to determine what is right? Maybe not; I am not a scientist, nor am I a philosopher, and I'm certainly not religious. I think. It's surface leveled of me to simply say it is about the wrong with our world. I know better, I know that it is also about our curiosity, our seemingly never-ending hunger for understanding. But bear with me. Isn't it something we often find ourselves asking? What is sin? What is immoral? What is the issue, the problem, what is wrong? And we have a variety of answers to choose from. We've had a millennium to decide for ourselves, to pose the question. I sometimes wonder if we are what's wrong? Is the common denominator simply us? Humans? Are we always trying to discover what is wrong because we know intuitively that we are simply wrong as a species? Humans were never meant to exist. We Were a 1 in a million chance. Is that perhaps the problem? Is it simply that nothing we do or think or feel will ever be right because our mere existence was wrong, and flawed and parasitic to begin with? Are humans just inherently wrong? But wait--my mother told me that by saying we were "never meant to exist" would imply there is an order, that there is some code, something that predetermines existence. Life, What is meant to be, and what is right. That statement would imply something fateful. If we were never "meant" to exist, then why do we? If there is some divine set of rules and codes determining the privilege and curse of existence, why did it mess up? Am I wrong? Perhaps I'll never be right if this is the case.

The Hot Cat seemed to have done the trick as Frisk is able to move around again, they manage to dodge the ice attack just in time.

Flowey, who has become too drowsy from the cold, is too sluggish to dodge it too, gets hit.

The duo spends their turn recuperating, with Flowey getting into Frisk's jacket and eating a snack, it seems to do the trick, for now at least, the jacket won't keep them completely warm forever if it keeps getting colder.
