This is Eman Zaqout, from Occupied Gaza, Palestine. I am a Biotechnologist ,🩸💉 and scientific researcher contacting you at a really desperate moment.

Just like any motivated and loving life woman, and for years, I poured my heart and soul into my work at Al-Shifa Hospital and Turkish Palestinian Friendship Hospital, as Biotechnology Specialist serving cancer patients with compassion and skill.💪🤍

I also gave medical lectures to students at different universities and training centers in Gaza👇☑

As a result of my outstanding grades in my study and the excellent performance in my job, I have been a holder of different scholarship and I am active participant in many research visits and scientific missions. 👩‍🔬The last scholarship as at McGill University in Canada three months ago before the starting of the genocide in Gaza.😥

However,😥

My life changed dramatically when Israeli military launched a sweeping war against Gaza. My home and our neighborhood in the North have been destroyed along with our belongings and precious memories early in this crisis.😭💔

My job and my husband's job are gone. Israeli military forced us to evacuate from the north Gaza to the south where they claimed it would be the safe zone but it is not at all. Our sweet home and neighborhood have been destroyed.

Forced to flee with nothing but the clothes on our backs, today, we find ourselves sheltering in a displacement camp lacking access to sanitation, medical supplies, food and drinkable water. I will not talk a lot about the dire and unbearable life we have to go through, as no word can express it fairly😔

The good news in the midst of this tragedy, that I am one of the 22 women from the developing world who have been awarded OWSD- PhD fellowship to pursue my PhD study in Malaysia🍉💪. But now I am stuck in Gaza unable to achieve my dream because Israeli army has occupied and closed all the border crossings 😭💔

This genocide has been more than a year of hell and horror. We have reached a point where there is no hope left for us here in Gaza, where we are unfortunately just waiting for our turn to die.

Day 414 From the war on Gaza

Three women were killed in front of a bakery in Deir al-Balah today, and the reasons were conflicting.

Some said they were shot dead by thugs, and others said they were killed in the scramble (rush) in front of the bakery.

The exact reason and the only truth is that they were killed while finding some bread!

I have previously shared Suad's campaign, and I have talked to her a bit in direct messages. She asked me to make an original post for her campaign, in hopes that more people will see it.

Suad Ahmad is a young woman from Gaza. She is an engineer, a wife, and a mother. She and her family have been displaced many times, and have been living in tents. Her baby son Khaled has been suffering from health issues due to the horrible conditions that Gazans are forced to live in. This is only a very brief description of everything that Suad and her family have endured; you can read more of her story on the gofundme page and Suad's blog @suad-khaled.

They are in desperate need of donations for necessities like food, shelter, clothes, diapers, and medical care. Please donate if you are able to, even if you can only spare a small amount. Every donation matters, and even a seemingly small donation can be the difference between life and death. Whether or not you can donate, please share the campaign so that it will reach more people who can help.

I’m so so glad that we were able to meet the goal for Ranin’s evacuation. She leaves tomorrow! Of course, this meant spending every dollar she had on escaping. I appreciate every contribution we received toward helping her get out of Gaza, but she will still need funds for food and supplies, especially milk and diapers for her young son who is still recovering from surgery. Additionally, the continued medical care that they are leaving Gaza to seek out will be expensive as well, so I’ll still be pushing Ranin’s campaign. Today, she paid in full to leave Gaza, but she has nothing left over and needs milk and diapers urgently. he's only fifteen years old. younger than my youngest sibling. and he's responsible for saving the lives of his family. can you imagine having to grapple with that at 15? would you be able to handle the pressure?

every day he messages me, full of anxiety when my responses lapse, and when i share his posts or tell him what i can do to help he tells me he loves me.

today he told me that his uncle was martyred just hours earlier.

Bisan is calling for another global strike!

I saw some posts just outlining Jan 21st, and wanted to clarify that Bisan has called for a full seven days of action.

What a global strike would look like is:

calling in sick to work

purchasing bare essentials ahead of the week so you can observe the general boycott of goods / buying as little as you genuinely can

putting in a concerted effort to elevate Palestinian voices and make it clear that this strike is in support of a permanent ceasefire!

For those who will have to purchase necessary goods during this time, please observe the brands that the BDS movement is asking us to boycott!

CareforGaza is an organisation that does verifiably good work, distributing supplies directly to Palestinian families.

They have a Gofundme set up at the moment, but because of Gofundme’s poor track record regarding refusing to transfer funds to Palestinians, I’d recommend continuing to donate directly to their PayPal here.
