Updates!
Hi all!!!
Sorry for the absence. I just got done with 10 weeks of counseling a summer camp and it was...sure something this year. Anyways, I'm back to a normal (less physically exhausting) schedule now so I want to refocus on this!
I adore Plagueclan and they are my silly little kitties I think about when I have nothing to do. I also recently gifted myself a new tablet, this time a screen display one! That being said, I've been drawing a lot, and I KNOW I just changed the style of the comic and all butttttt I found a much more comfortable way to draw it, and I think the style will change once more. My bad.
Story wise, we are going to change to a more comic-like format! Similar to the intro comic! Instead of a diary-esque story direction I'm going for full scenes with talking and the like. I'm hoping this will make the story more eventful and dramatic, as it should be. So, starting from the top, I've already got a prologue chapter in the works and scripted out so we will be restarting. The story won't change overall, but we may hit some different beats on the way to set up for future events.
Finally, schedule! I will go back to once a week on Sundays starting next week. This will be page one of chapter one, so it will not be the next moon based on what we have! Just so we're all on the same page :)
Finally, finally I also have a headworld that I'm working on about a Skyclan AU called Return of the Clans, a story where the journeying cats from the New Prophecy never return and the forest clans disband, and many seasons later Skyclan must be the ones to bring them back. The old switcharoo. This is not a comic or even fanfiction yet but more a collection of ideas and clips. However, I do have the allegiances written out and some character designs so I'm thinking I'll make a blog for it as it develops. I'll promote that blog in the case it is made, but for now here's some pretty kitties from Skyclan for you to look at until next Sunday. Thank you all for your continued support and I apologize it took me so long to return.

Happy Webcomic Day! My webcomic White Noise is a labor of love--according to Procreate, this page took me 15.5 hours to complete.* Here's a look into that process!
Some other notes:
The thumbnails are done on graph paper and I script while I do them--there is no separate written script for White Noise. I usually spent a couple hours on weekends as needed thumbnailing, sometimes at a coffee shop or at home listening to records.
I then set up the file in Photoshop, so I can lay in the text and use the template I have with bleeds already set up. The text is rasterized and I shuttle the file over to my iPad via Airdrop.
The bulk of the actual work is done in Procreate, which records timelapses that I sometimes share to my Patreon. I usually spend a couple hours most nights after my day job or on the bus commuting doing this.
Once everything art-wise is done, I shuttle the file back over to my desktop to re-set in the text, add a stroke around the speech bubbles (Procreate doesn't have that took fsr) and do the resizing/exporting for web.
On Sunday mornings I get up, queue the page and write the page descriptions. I don't spend any time on the page descriptions outside of that.
Also, this process goes for the whole first arc of White Noise. I'm done with that arc (which means you can binge the whole thing I'm js!!) and am experimenting with some different methods these days, but my workflow is still generally the same.
*Some more talk about the labor (and burnout) involved below the cut:
This particular page (and most of the pages I did in 2023) took a lot longer than normal because I was heading into a burnout period that I'm still lowkey in/recovering from. It's obvious to me now in retrospect watching the timelapse here and seeing how much noodling I'm doing and how much I'm struggling with the process, but at the time I was just very frustrated generally. When I'm not burned tf out pages take maybe 10 hours max.
2023 was a pretty stressful year--lots of big life changes, uncertainty, pet death, health issues--so it's no wonder it propelled me into burnout, but it just goes to show that even the slowest and steadiest pace is not sustainable forever. I've been doing one page a week following this general process for over a decade! And I stuck to that pace because I knew it was one I could maintain. But even so, by the end of this arc I found myself working more and more slowly, not really looking forward to the work, feeling anxious about being behind, unhappy with the finished work, and extremely annoyed with myself for not being able to give it my all right there at the finish line.
I did stop for a while after the epilogue and took a more or less complete break from drawing for about a month--the longest I have EVER gone without drawing, much less working on White Noise--which did help, but these days my ability to work is...inconsistent. I should probably take another total break, but I'm reluctant. What if my passion never comes back? What if people forget about WN? It's already pretty obscure, and with the general social media collapse, it's harder than ever to get people to read my work. Now that I've left Hiveworks, WN doesn't even get the benefit of being linked to other comics (although objectively very, very few readers actually got referred to my comic that way.) And frankly, I'm also just too proud to go too long without comic updates. I've always told myself, I might not be the best artist or the fastest worker or make a popular comic, but I'm consistent. Difficult to let that go.
This is all to say that webcomics are hard. We do them because we love them, we have stories to tell, we are seized with the human compulsion to create. We spend hours of our time, almost always on top of the paying work that allows us to eat, to make something that we then give away for free. It has consequences on us that the reader doesn't often see, no matter how careful we are about it. If you ask me, webcomics deserve to be valued more.
Happy Webcomic Day! Read webcomics!

Making a comic...
For a while now I've been uploading pages of my Heavy Rain comic to ComicFury, Facebook and Deviantart on Sundays. I figured most webcomic creators have a dedicated schedule. But for the second week now I'm finding myself having trouble keeping up with it.
I've been feeling really dissatisfied with how the Heavy Rain pages I'm working on now are going leading up to this Sunday. Between that and a previous incident where I missed a week, I'm considering taking a longer time away from updates to work on these pages.
I'm also wondering if I should have a schedule at all. On the one hand, not being beholden to specific times would mean more time to make the pages better and to upload pages together in chunks based on scenes, or sequences. On the other hand, I feel on some level that having a strict deadline and not being too worried about perfection in order to get pages out is keeping me making pages at a more or less steady rate.
In any case, I'm once again not sure I'll be able to have anything out this week. I know this doesnt really affect Tumblr, since I havent uploaded anything here yet, but What do you guys think about all of this? I'd really really appreciate some advice or feedback on this.

Weekly Update January 12, 2024
I’m exhausted and still packing for the move tomorrow. I don’t know what’s going to happen this semester but I’m hoping I can stay kinda productive, since I should get weekends entirely off save for homework. Car ride up tomorrow, planning to do either epithet TTRPG work or thumbnailing or both.
TRGA: 1-5 Jon is done and 1-5 Emile is like half done, need cleanup and face. The more smoothly things go the more I’m worried about having to redo the old shots, but for now I think I can get away with touch ups on 1-3 and leaving 1-1 as is. 1-5 is going nice and quick so I’m hoping I can get the whole thing done by the end of the semester, but no promises.
Comic thumbnailing stuff going well, only 2 scenes away from getting through ‘act 1’ (the first third-ish of it). If I’m ambitious I might get going on writing a second issue soon too, because I have it kinda sorta outlined, and I found what is basically an outline for a third issue done as well (or a first draft of it anyway). Still gonna focus on the pitch/pilot/w.e issue for now. But because it’s been going so well I’m feeling optimistic.
I did no music stuff this week so once I’m back on campus I’m going to try to get going on one. Maybe will be a character theme, maybe will be something else. Not sure. *Really* want to get going on something animatable, but not sure how long it’ll take. Also I’ll go through that giant plug-in pack I got with the auto volume stuff to see what else it can do.
Also after racking my brain around music I listen to I think I have a basic idea of lyric whatever’s I was worried about last week. I’m going to fuck it we ball it because I think I do have a subconscious enough understanding. I’ll try to budget time to rewatching vocaloid tutorials so I can start messing with it.
Also haven’t really done a ton of Epithet TTRPG stuff other than sporadic general planning. I have a general outline for a first chapter/session/batch of sessions, I just need to plan out the details of the encounters, and trajectory for the rest of the campaign. I want to kinda combine it with another RPG I found at the store, ‘Urban Decay’, so I’ll need to throw together a document of that and any other house rules, and set up a session zero for character creation. Unsure if I want to d with friends in person, people found online, both, or a combination.
I have a big stretch of free time tomorrow, I’m going to try to actually schedule myself for that, spend X amount of time on comic thumbnailing, X on TTRPG, and X on watching Vocaloid and other music tutorials. Hoping my mood will be stable enough to maintain that schedule. From there, I’ll try to do a song on Sunday (and time myself so I can add music to my commsheet), and try another bite of animation and another thumbnail, plus maybe a drawing if I have time. Weird that drawings are such a low priority right now but it’s because the other stuff I’m working on is just that much more exciting!

Welcome to Sneg!
Laura is just a little girl who lives with her older brother, Chase. She goes to school and has a lot to say, but she also has a big problem going on. Her best friend is an alien robot named Sneg, who comes to study humans from far away. Follow their goofy little adventures starting now!
Written by @pandrena , this comic was started a few years ago, and will upload old pages prior to uploading new ones. Updates will be at least once a week in black and white but also occasionally colored, longer pages akin to Sunday strips. There is clear Calvin and Hobbes inspiration, but the comic focuses on its own characters more than anything.
Read on Comicfury!

This is a really difficult announcement to make for me. TL;DR, the process for making the comic has become a lot more complicated due to some changes in my style, and therefore the uploads will have to be set for every other week, rather than every week. Trust me, saying that hurts me a lot more than it hurts you.
Dread Not is, not just the largest project I’ve ever worked on, but also the most consistent. The goal to upload every week was set specifically to keep me motivated and give me just enough room to make something worthwhile. I’ve never regularly released content before, so it was kind of a huge deal for me, even though I never liked the deadline because I felt I wasn’t uploading ENOUGH. The comic is, for all intents and purposes, meant to be read all at once, or over the course of a few days, and short of not releasing anything for years on end and uploading around 100 pages at once, there’s no way to upload it in the same way it was meant to be consumed.
So, for a while, one week was enough to finish an entire page and upload it in a timely manner, or with minor issue (like staying up late to finish the page on the day it’s being uploaded, effectively forcing myself to crunch instead of just releasing it on Sunday instead). The trouble is, though, the pages are getting more and more complicated, and my style and workflow are becoming a lot more time consuming, which is technically a good thing. The quality of the early pages and the newer pages is a stark contrast, and if I want to keep improving my skills, I need to give myself a bit of wiggle room (especially keeping in mind I start college this September, and it’s all gonna be chaos from there). This is half the reason why I decided to upload pages every other week.
The other half is that I miss when this used to be fun for me. If you would allow me a bit of melodrama for a moment, I miss when Dread Not was a passion project that brought me joy, not stress. Nowadays, I find myself thinking about doing literally ANYTHING but work on the comic, but I always force myself to work on it anyway, dwelling on how little time I have until the upload day. I’ve shelfed videos, fics, drawing ideas, and my social life, trying to pour as much into this comic as possible and, honestly, the payoff isn’t worth the price. I have a lot of things I want to do, I have a lot of ideas I want to share, and not all of them are in Dread Not.
What’s especially heartbreaking to me about all this is that I’m forced to make this announcement in the middle of the Fusion’s introductory pages, because these are the pages I was THE most excited for, yet whenever I work on them I feel my soul slowly leaving my body. The Fusion is, unironically, the origin of this comic. A dumb idea I had to mesh my two favourite characters together, which I ended up making a whole world around. I workshopped the story, the idea reached Meowchela, and the rest is history. This dumbass, cat-looking-ass, shambling man stumbling around in the woods is what I have been THE most excited for and now that it’s time to actually show him off, I find myself demotivated, stressed, and depressed. I shot for the moon and crash landed so hard my skull split in half.
Alright, melodrama over.
For future acts of Dread Not, I’ll try to structure my time and work a little more effectively. I’m writing out all the dialogue for act 2, and will hopefully be able to release it in a healthier way, maybe a few pages at a time with bigger breaks of time in between, but we’ll have to see. It’s all up in the air and heavily depends on what my workflow for college will look like.
Again, it pains me to have to switch to this kind of upload schedule. I keep having to remind myself that it’s actually Not Normal for a fully coloured comic to be made by one person and released as weekly updates. Maybe one day I’ll be able to make quality pages in short bursts of time, but that day is not today. Or any time soon for that matter. I feel half dead writing this and it’s literally just the announcement post.
There are exactly 26 pages to go until the end of act 1. That’s around 52 weeks, an entire year. I unspeakably hate that the comic has to be released this slowly, but it’s for my own good. To say I’ve bitten off more than I could chew would be an understatement. I’m trying to swallow the entire Eifel tower whole here.
I hope you all stick around until the end, and I hope it’ll all be worth it. Thank you for being invested in the first place.
#dreadnot#dread not#dread not au#dreadnotau#not comic#schedule update#posting this on saturday is just compounding how dead inside i feel about all this#i am genuinely thankful for the support the comic has recieved and i will keep working my hardest to make something worthwhile#but again for my own sanity i need to give myself more time#a fully coloured comic page on an a4 format is a lot harder to make when youre not just doing the bare minimum#that is shade at no one but my past self who was too fucking lazy to find a good way to shade the fucking pages#kooki is fucking dying hours

Delicate (Request)
Marvel Cast x gn!teen!co-star!reader
Genre: fluff
Request Description: Hey I have a request. People think because I'm a small(5'3") girl I'm a "Delicate flower" and I'm really the complete opposite. So Marvel Cast x Teen!Reader. Reader was a hardcore stunt double(jumping off buildings,in simulated car accidents, fight scenes, ect.)before she got into acting, but because she's so young they try to prevent her from doing her job. (I'm evil so have her do one of the most risky stunts and nail it)
Warnings: stunt, violence (kind of), language, concerned costars :)
(A/N): hey yall im gonna update hopefully twice today or twice tomorrow? it’s because im going to BERLIN with my SCHOOL on sunday, so i dont expect to be able to write a lot. i already feel kind of guilty, since i havent even written that much this week? it can just be really exhausting you know? anyway i know none of you guys mind, its just what i keep worrying about, but anyway hope you all enjoy this :D
“Y/n, can’t you please reconsider this?”
“No, I’m doing the stunt!”
It was getting annoying at this point. You and the cast had been filming the newest Marvel movie for the past 4 months, and finally came the day, where your stunts were filmed. You only had this one scene (and one or two others with a bit of action) in the entire movie that included stunts, and you, being an experienced stunt double before turning into an actor, were excited. In fact, you were pretty sure that your experience as a stunt double, was what had gotten you the job in the first place.
You expected that your co-stars would know this, but none of them did, and you found it hard to bring it up, without feeling like you were bragging or something, so you just didn’t tell them. But that was turning out to be a bad idea, as they were getting increasingly worried.
During the first couple of months, it was mostly light chuckles and small remarks.
“That’s gonna be tough, huh?”
But as the set was built and the day came closer, the remarks turned into a worried demands.
“Y/n, that is way too dangerous! Tell the director that you want a stunt double!” Anthony had told you firmly and worryingly, as you came onto the set, wearing your costume. You furrowed your brows and tilted your head up to look at him.
“No, Anthony. I already told you,” you mumbled. Sebastian, Chris (Evans), Scarlett, and Tom (Hiddleston) looked over and a flurry of sighs came. The argument was starting again.
“Look, maybe you should just listen to us - that stuff is really dangerous, and you’re just too young,” Chris told you, giving you those worried blue eyes.
“I mean, look at you! You’re.. You know!” Sebastian knew immediately he shouldn’t have begun that sentence when he saw the narrow-eyed glare you sent his way.
“I’m what?”
“You know... Delicate..”
You rolled your eyes, intending to walk to a different part of set, where you wouldn’t be ridiculed, but Scarlett’s voice interrupted you. “Alright,” she said, “I’m gonna go ask Joe to give you a stunt double-”
Just before you could retort, because, boy, was it annoying, a set worker yelled across set, running busily across set. “Guys! You’re on now!”
You smirked cartoonishly, knowing you’d get to do the stunt, and set off to your starting position. Your coworkers watched you triumphantly getting ready, and exchanged deflated glances. They, reluctantly, got into position as well.
“Action!”
You felt a power surge as you started, almost immediately jumping into the action. You did it just as it was written in the script, ducking beneath flying fists, taking fake punches, delivering soft blows and jumping and flipping in the air like it was nothing.
As you dashed across the set, you glanced at Tom and Sebastian. They were both doing their own thing, but you found that their attention had been drifted slightly from the fight and onto you. Their mouths stood slightly agape.
You suppressed your grin, and climbed to the area of which you’d be jumping into a fairly narrow safety pad. You glance down and felt both anxiety and excitement tingling in your stomach. God, you’d really missed being a stunt double.
You saw Anthony and Scarlett frowning, and then Chris glancing at the director, probably to signal yo get you down from there, but both directors were looking solely at you.
The ground crunched beneath you, as you turned, pretending to look at approaching enemies coming up to the ledge from behind you. Then you looked down the jump and bit your lip, acting scared.
“Welp, I guess I’m doing this,” you said as scripted, and then let yourself fall. Just as your body fell between the gap, you grabbed onto a small branch, placed there very purposefully. Your body bounced violently at the motion, and your arm tugged at the weight of your own body.
You heard the actors playing the villains trample above you in confusion.
“They probably jumped over! Let’s go!” they hissed, and the ledge thundered and small stones fell, as they all left you in the gap. You looked, once more just like in the script, at the ledge, the branch, and then beneath you.
“God, bad day..” you mumbled, and comically you let yourself fall. You landed, rather gracefully in your opinion, on the pad, and fell onto safety.
The set exploded in applause. The directors, set workers, actors and actresses, everyone was seemingly impressed, and you smiled with pride.
“Woah, holy shit, holy fucking shit, Y/n! When’d you learn to do that?!” Chris asked excitedly, everyone running over as you stood up.
“I was a stunt double for years. I love this kind of stuff,” you explained and watched them roll their eyes and smile in disbelief.
“Why didn’t you say so, you dumbass?” Anthony tried to be angry, but he couldn’t hide how impressed he was. “But, for real, damn that was cool.”
“I don’t know, I didn’t know how to bring it up. Anyway-”
“STOP CELEBRATING, WE’RE NOT DONE!” One of the directors had a megaphone and he made big eyes, as he fussed you all along. The cast laughed at him.
“Alright, but, uh- Next time, just tell us, Y/n. You gave me a fucking heart attack.” Scarlett cursed at you, booped your nose, and then jogged back to her place. You laughed and nodded.
“Tell me too!” Tom hissed, glancing at everyone waiting for the cast to stop fooling around, booped your nose once more (a very boopable surface, if you will), and ran to his position as well.
Everyone traveled back to their places, and then you would work the scene over and over, and at the end of the day, you all went out to celebrate because, as the cast liked to phrase it, you were ‘inexplicably cool’.
You enjoyed the food and the glory, and all was good. Looks like you weren’t so delicate after all.

Final thoughts from Elvenwhovian
So here we are at the end. The last panel. There were a lot of times that I thought I wouldn’t make it to this point. It’s been an incredible and long journey, and finishing a project like this is satisfying beyond words. I know that many of you were not here from the start, so I just wanted to share the story of how this 930 panel monster of a project came to be and thank a few people who helped along the way.
Really it all started in March of 2014. My roommate had taken a trip to New Zealand to visit family and I was having a pity party at home alone (It’s always been a dream of mine to go to New Zealand). I was window shopping online on Thinkgeek (RIP Thinkgeek) and I was seeing all this merch for a game called Portal. This led me to Steam, which led to finishing the first Portal in about a day, then Portal2 in about 2 weeks.
Of course this led me to begin looking up fan art which led me to discover the fanfiction “Blue Sky”. I read the whole thing in about 4 days. I was so engrossed in the story, I ate, slept, went to work, and read Blue Sky and nothing else. I vividly remember sitting at my kitchen table, ipad in hand, as I read the last lines of the story. I sat back, let out a long breath and said, “Wow. That was one of the best stories I’ve ever read.”
The fan art came next. Being relatively new to tumblr, I was used to getting 3-6 notes on a post. Suddenly, people were coming out of the woodwork liking and reblogging. My mind was blown and it made me want to make more fan art. Then I met @starry-nightengale who became one of my best friends on this site. We fangirled over “Blue Sky” and Portal over the next year which led to us co-writing “The Trial of the Bow” trilogy, a medieval/fairytale retelling of Portal, Portal 2, Blue Sky, and Portal Stories: Mel.
It was on Labor day weekend of 2015 when my internet went down inexplicably. My roommate who had the internet in her name was out of town yet again and I conceded that I would have to wait until she got back to get the issue resolved. The Trial of the Bow Trilogy was finished and I had just co-written with @the-royal-sketchbook a Half-life Medival/fairytale fanfic “The Legend of the Freeman.” However, my passion for Half-life was not as strong as it was for Blue Sky and I longed to do something else involving Wheatley, Chell, and the citizens of Eaden.
Most of the people that I encouraged to read Blue Sky did not have the time to invest into a novel length book. I longed to create something more accessible. A comic book/graphic novel of the story had been in the back of my mind for a long time, but when the desire rose up in me, the thought of “but you would have to do backgrounds and you suck at backgrounds” reared its ugly head.
But on that Labor day weekend, a thought occurred to me. “What if I did it as a comic? Very loose and simple. Something that I could do for fun without any heavy commitment.” So that weekend, I did a quick pencil drawing of the scene when Wheatley and Chell argue from Chapter 5. I threw some color on it and put it on tumblr and it got a great response. Then I did the scene when Chell transfers Wheatley into the hardlight avatar from Chapter 3. Another great response. It was simple and loose but people seemed to like it. I asked Starry what she thought about doing the whole story in such a way. If memory serves, she was for it but warned me not to get too far ahead of myself. If I did this, it would be a huge project and would take a lot of planning and forethought. BTW, good advice Starry ;)
After completing all of Chapter 1, I made the announcement, created the page, and the Blue Sky Web comic was born.
One of the things that helps me to recharge each week is drawing/working on art on Sunday afternoons. In the past, I had struggled to find things to work on, but no more. Sunday was now Blue Sky Comic day. I would post 2 panels and create 4 more. If I had extra time on holidays or days off I would get extra done. This system allowed me to consistently add to the project without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. I was able to get ahead so that I could take breaks for holidays, trips, computer problems, and eventually planning my wedding and getting married. The Blue Sky Web Comic became a constant in my life. Whenever I needed to decompress and just draw or color in panels, it was there.
In late summer of 2019, my Father was diagnosed with cancer. If any of you have walked through cancer with someone, you know how difficult and painful it can be. My husband and I took a trip to see my parents about once a month for the next 8 months. The drive was fairly long and was the perfect opportunity to work on what I called “pencil work” for the comic (sketching out the layout of each panel, a process that took the most concentration and time). Working on the comic helped to keep my mind off of things. Each time we visited my Dad his condition declined and being able to focus on something like the “pencil work” helped to make the trips better.
In spring of 2020, right before the COVID-19 lockdown, my Father passed away. It was right before that final trip that I finished the “Pencil work”. By then I had also made a lot of headway on the comic itself, with only a few chapters left to ink and color. I remember reading stories and blogs about how people made it through difficult times by focusing on a hobby, tv show, book, or music; not living in denial of the bad things, but just having something to help them take a break from it all. That was what the Blue Sky Comic was for me in those final days and I will always cherish how it was one of the things that helped me to make it through that difficult period in my life.
With the COVID-19 lockdown, I had some extra time to work on the comic and by late spring of 2020, I finished the last panel. It still kind of blows my mind. From 2015 to 2020 was how long it took to complete.
____________
To the 2000+ followers and those who replied, liked, reblogged, and sent messages, your words helped me to keep going when I wondered if it was worth it. Your kind thoughts helped me to know that this story is still enjoyed by people and Portal fans alike.
To @starry-nightengale, thank you for your advice at the beginning and your support and friendship along the way. Here’s to many more ^w^
And to @wafflebloggies, thank you for writing Blue Sky. It may seem overdramatic, but when I found this fic back in 2014, I was in a dark place and your story helped me hold onto the light. Even years later when faced with new trials, it helped me to focus on what was ahead. I truly believe that this story resonates with so many people because it taps into the most simple and profound truth: the most powerful love is selfless. And selfless love can conquer any difficulty. Also your support of the comic over the years made me smile with delight. I’m so glad you liked it :)
So that’s the story. I plan to do more audiobooks of the rest of the Trial of the Bow trilogy, but after that I’m going to be taking a nice long break from Blue Sky and Portal. I have a personal passion project that I am in the initial stages on. It's another web comic that I actually couldn’t have even considered doing if not for the experience I gained over the past 5 years. I’ll have updates on my personal tumblr for that project and the audiobooks, but for this page, The Blue Sky Web comic, this will be one of my final posts (aside from responding to any messages from you guys). Thank you all again for following. What an incredible journey this has been! This fandom is so amazing and I love you all. Take care and God bless. - Elvy

Tippen’s work in progress fic updates! (April 2021)
It's time once again my friends for an update on all my works in progress!
The TL;DR is that I am writing a lot of stuff to prepare for Seamista and Glimbow Weeks so I didn’t post as many things this month in exchange for post A TON next month.
The big news is that I am
participating in Seamista Week in May @cephalopod-literary-society
modding / participating in Glimbow Week a week after that @glimbowweek
doing Camp NaNoWriMo
Which means I am writing a TON this month but just not stuff I could post yet.
What about your ongoing fics? I hoped to finish Glowing Up and The B Team before April and I... totally failed at that. But The B Team WILL be updating every Sunday like clockwork until it’s done in an unprecedented bout of consistency. At the time of posting, there are two chapters left and they are both ready to roll.
In the meantime, there aren't too many chapters left of Glowing Up and most of them are already written, it's just a matter of finding time between other things to clean them and get them posted. Hopefully once Glimbow Week is over I can get that one completed.
As for Prince Bow and Archer Glimmer and Going There, both of them are both my mental fallback projects in the sense that whenever I don't particularly feel like working on anything specific I always return to them so I'm fine with just working on them in the background whenever in between other things. You’ll get those when you get them, basically, and likely not until after Glimbow Week.
That said, I do plan going forward to always have one fic that is getting consistently updated weekly, like I am doing now with The B Team and then just do other updates as I can.
What are you working on for Camp NaNoWriMo?
For NaNo, I didn't set a numeric goal. I am just trying to get everything written and ready to go for Seamista and Glimbow weeks. I'm also writing as far ahead in all my multi-chapter fics as I can this month so there should be less posting delays in the future.
What's coming up?
If anyone cares, here's a little teaser of exactly what I'm working on (with the disclaimer that this is always subject to change as my whims and sudden and capricious).
Seamista Week
As of now, I am planning on writing four things for sure Seamista Week and then maybe doing more if I have extra time. These are...
a double date between Seamista and Entrapdak (Yeah, you read that right, baby!)
a long post explaining a treasured headcanon of mine about Seamista in Season Five that I am too lazy to make into a full fic
The Sea Gate from Swapped Seamista's POV set in the world of my Glimbow Swap (aka Prince Bow and Archer Glimmer)
a fun modern AU of Sea Hawk failing (... or is he?) to pick up Mermista at a bar
if I have extra time I will write a song parody (steeples chin mysteriously)
Glimbow Week
As for Glimbow Week, my intention right now is to participate every single day. I am going to try to NOT stress myself by doing two prompts for every day but if I do get extra fics written, I’ll throw em up too!
Here are some of the things I have for you...
Outlaws of the Whispering Woods! Multi-chapter Robin Hood inspired / dystopian spin on the events of Season 5 for Catradora and Glimbow but focusing on the friendships between Adora & Bow and Catra & Glimmer that I am so so excited for you to read!!
a cute high school AU
a funny college AU
a post-canon multi-chapter fic where Glimmer accidentally teleports herself... into a modern AU! Comic antics and also feelings may ensue!
something kind of different from me, my angsty as HELL (literally) take on the popular Celestial AU but focused on Glimbow of course bc it's their week
something people have been asking me for for a while... a sequel to my fic Paperworks and Proposals fic!
Yes, they are almost all AUs. Let me live.
I also wrote..
a PJO mythology inspired fic (that I planned for Glimbow Week but got too long so I’ll save it for another time so I don't have too many fics in progress at once)
a Medieval AU one-shot I wrote for my own amusement with princess / royal guard dynamics (can’t post for Glimbow Week bc TOO SEXY OH NO!)
another too hot for Glimbow Week post set in the world of Prince Bow and Archer Glimmer
a bunch of self-indulgent gift fics for all my Glimbow buddies that I meant to have done for Glimbow week but will probably instead roll out randomly as I get them finished
What about...?
The two things people ask me about the most are when am I going to continue my Horde Glimmer and when will I post the next part of Beasts AU?
The answer to that is I planned to start posting them for Glimbow Week but then I realized I didn't want to have too many fics in progress at once. So they are both partially and I will start posting them eventually but first I have to finish some other ongoing stuff.
And, I’m telling you right now, if they announce more She-Ra I’m going to start posting the sequel to Going There, Coming Home, even if GT isn’t done yet because I’d rather have it posted before post-canon changes and I would have to rewrite it.
Once Glimbow Week is over, I will have five multi-chapter fics in progress 😫 which is too many so I’ll be working on getting those up and completed for the foreseeable future!
And that’s what I’ve got coming up! Sorry this is the longest post on earth! As always, feel free to send me asks about any of my fics or works in progress, I would LOVE to talk about them!

Weekly Update August 9, 2024
I’m still tired, still recovering. I’ll probably go a bit easy next week too because even though I kept trying to get sleep this week my luck wasn’t having it. I’m still making good work on art stuffs too, though.
Main thing was music: RR is almost completely tuned, I just need to fiddle with some external plugins and add some harmonies. Also pretty much started and almost finished another song, for that Newgrounds contest. I played my dumpster guitar a bit for that and god do I suck but it’s fine I’m doing what I can. I’ve gotten a bit better at chopping up and splicing wav files so I can still make it sound decent. I just need to record a couple more chords and that song should be good. Also doing vocals for that one because I realize they’re so much faster once you have a midi and know what you’re doing with it. Not sure which voice I’m going to use but probably one of the ZOLAs. Also found out that apparently the vocaloid mobile version is *not* discontinued (only region locked), there’s a way to get around the region lock, and apparently it’s only like $30? $20 per voicebank? That’s so much cheaper than the pc version! The trial has been tiding me over for now but I might grab that version and the ZOLAs (assuming they’re still a bundle), since that’ll be easier than having to send the vpr and wait for it to get exported and sent back to me. I’m not 100% sure yet though. Anyway bottom line is music is going great.
Comic has been lower priority this week since I was *supposed* to be taking a break. I got the lines for page 8 done before my ‘break’ so I got the page partially colored this week. Maybe I’ll finish that up this weekend and get page 9 in a line, but I want to finish up that song first.
I did get a good chunk of Epithet Erased TTRPG statblocks done, so now the thing that’s bottlenecking me from running that is maps and tokens (and balance testing but thats not essential I can change statblocks mid fight if I need). That’s a little bit of a bummer since I won’t be able to post any of those but oh well that’s how it goes I guess.
Tonight I’m planning to record the last of those guitar parts for that song, tomorrow I’ll try to tune and mix the vocals, and I’ll try to get a drawing to go with it done Sunday, then back to resting for a while. I’ll try to get that comic page finished and the OEB puppet as well on whatever night I decide I’ve had enough rest. While I’m resting next week will be finishing up the last parts on the songs that need it plus importing OEB storyboards.

Today is my one-year lockdowniversary. To "celebrate", I present you with a paragraph from my journal from February 2020 in which I mention covid for the first time.
Last year I was in Changshu, China, staying at home during Spring Festival because I'd already traveled during Christmas break. Most of my friends were back in their hometowns or traveling for fun during that time, so life was mostly uneventful until I started hearing about the mysterious disease in Wuhan.
I remember using bleach to sterilize everything that entered and left my apartment, because at the time nobody knew that the virus was primarily airborn. I lived and worked on school campus, along with a few others who didn't leave for vacation, and the administration kindly delivered bags of food each Sunday. It was very unpredictable what we got. One day we recieved two kg of fresh spinach. I had to put aside the rest of my day to wash and cook it, otherwise it would have gone off and I'd have had nothing else to eat that week.
After I started to feel like my routine was keeping me relatively safe from covid, I started to worry about being sent to Changshu #1 People's Hospital, infamous around town for its terrible treatment, for failing the temperature check for being hot, or for being seen coughing, or something else innocuous. In hindsight, I never needed to worry because campus security used only the cheapest thermometers and they struggled to read my body temperature at all.
Then, as now, boredom and isolation was major problem. Outsiders were not permitted to visit campus, and as I mentioned, bars and restaurants were closed. After a month, many of my friends realized they wouldn't be re-entering the country any time soon, and gave me permission to raid their kitchens for food. More than just a nice gesture, because imports weren't arriving at that time, and many taobao shops weren't fulfilling orders.
At the time I wrote this, I really didn't believe the virus would leave China. Quite a few very kind people (including some of you guys!) messaged me to see if I was ok. And I will never forget that. Now I can look back and see that I had it pretty good compared to the hell that my poor home country is suffering. I hope everyone who was reading last January is still here today, and I hope will be here next January.
May we all live to experience precidented times once more.

It’s done! Get it here:

I’ve been working on this story arc since early 2017. It’s become longer than 14 Nights, better written than 14 Nights, and better drawn. I didn’t tackle all the philosophical questions that I’d hoped to with regard to the effect that fiction has on us and my own ambivalent relationship to fiction, but I think that was an impossible goal. I’m extremely proud of this story arc, maybe the proudest I’ve ever been of anything in my life. I hope the ending will satisfy you.
