Prompt 271
“Grandmother is visiting,” Damian suddenly said with no warning and with his usual not-quite demanding tone.
“Who?” Tim wasn’t the only one to startle, seeing as Bruce had practically froze, a downturn to his lips in a silent show of confusion.
Damian scowled. “Are you deaf Drake? Grandmother is coming to Gotham to, quote, make sure I am being properly cared for.” None of them had known that Ras was with anyone actually. At least Tim was pretty sure that would have been in the files.
“Oh?” Dick didn’t quite crouch to Damian’s height but it was a near thing. “She-” “He,” Damian corrected, interrupting him. They all exchanged a glance before Dick continued.
“Is he coming to the Manor or…”
Damian scoffed again, a tiny bit of a flush against his face. “No, Grandmother will most likely be staying with Akhi-”
Now wait one moment-
“YOU HAVE ANOTHER BROTHER?!”

I'm not even a horror person but the new season of Dimension 20 is so damn good! The art of Gerard shows him with fully a frog's head but tbh the concept of the halfway point is so much more disturbing for me... big ol' eyes...
edit: I forgot the Gander's bonnet OOPS mea culpa

im kind of a mom against weed i dont think its good for your mental health i think thats a big cope. getting so high you're dissociating through and emotionally numbing yourself isn't treating your mental illness, its abusing drugs. nobody says this about alcohol curing their depression even though it's used in the same way to cope and has (overall ) the same negative effects

It had been two weeks since it was all over. They’d spent the majority of their time in Kakariko Village. Impa had been gentle and fastidious in her care of the princess, and Link felt a little out of place at the sight of it – the two remembered each other, remembered everything of the past. Impa could tell Zelda of what had happened since, and Zelda could be nostalgic with Impa. Link could really offer neither, he supposed, though he’d seen more of Hyrule nowadays than Impa had.
Despite all of this, though, both Link and Zelda struggled. Link spent his spare time sparring or traveling the area, resting in Hateno, helping the villagers in both places. Zelda just… rested. After two weeks, even Impa was showing signs of uncertainty and worry. Link didn’t know what to do.
The swordsman sighed as he kicked a pebble into a pond, watching a frog hop away. He had so little understanding of the past, he felt useless to help. But at the same time, he just felt useless, period. His entire purpose and life mission when he’d woken up, the main goal he’d built his entire identity around, was over. Zelda spent a hundred years holding the Calamity at bay and now it was over.
It was over.
And they were both left with… they didn’t even know.
Maybe that was the issue, then. Neither knew what to do now. Neither knew how to move forward after they’d spent so long being stuck in the past.
Well, Link wasn’t quite stuck in the past. He couldn’t remember it. Maybe that was why it still seemed to hold him hostage. Either way, the wounds of the Calamity were everywhere, whether it was remembered or not.
Link stared at his reflection in the water. Now what?
He sighed, falling into a seated position in front of the pond. The frog from earlier landed on a lily pad. He watched it aimlessly, mind restless and heart hurting. As he watched it, the world seemed to fade around him, his body growing light, and he recognized the feeling, the sensation, and his eyes widened a hair – he… hadn’t had new memories trying to resurface since the Calamity had been defeated.
Link took a small, shaky breath, letting his mind go where it wanted to, drifting into the past.
He’s home. The lighting is a little dim since it’s raining. There are sniffles by the stairway, and he feels the need to go to them, but whispers to his left catch his attention.
“Til, this is ridiculous. A funeral for a frog? Really?”
“Honey, she loved that frog!”
“She saw it for maybe a few weeks, didn’t she?”
“Yes, and she loved it! She even named it.”
His father sighs heavily, pinching the bridge of his nose. “You’re proposing we hold a funeral. For a frog that lived by the pond for a few weeks. Because Lyra is upset that it died.”
“That’s exactly what I’m proposing,” his mother replies.
“Til, everything dies, if we held a funeral for every single thing we’d be mourning our entire lives.”
“This isn’t about mourning, Abel,” his mother argues. “It’s about learning to close a chapter of your life and move forward. She’s young, this is a good way for her to learn this.”
His father watches her skeptically and then sighs again. “Very well.”
His mother smiles and nods, heading towards the stairs and kneeling, blocking someone from view as she speaks softly. His father approaches him, and he stands a little straighter, eyes watching him with unspoken curiosity.
“Well,” his father huffs. “I suppose we should put on our formal attire for this, seeing as it’s an important affair.”
He catches himself midway into smiling, unsure if this is an actual joke or a grumble, but the wink he gets from his father make shim relax. He nods and the pair go their separate ways, and the world fades and spins dizzyingly for a moment before he finds himself standing outside. He and his father are dressed in colorful regalia, a hat keeping his head warm in the damp air. His mother is wearing dark, somber clothes, and he sees a little girl—his sister—holding a candle in front of the pond. He can’t hear the words being spoken, or even tell if there are words being spoken, but somehow, he feels… at peace.
Link gasped, startled as he opened his eyes, cheeks chilled by tear tracks that had half dried. For a moment he just sat there, processing what he’d just seen. That was—he’d seen his—
He shook his head. Somehow… that felt…
He glanced up at the sky and looked beyond it, his heart racing, and he struggled to catch his breath before looking back down at the pond.
Grief over a family he didn’t know anymore welled up inside him, but the lesson they’d taught him burned even more. He rose, taking a steadying breath, clenching his fists and closing his eyes as the tears fell.
He knew what they needed to do.
The next day, Link and Zelda stood at Fort Hateno, flowers in the princess’ hands, Link dressed in his freshly cleaned champion garb. The pair looked out over the field and all its wreckage.
Zelda took a shaky breath, and stepped forward, as if she were getting ready to address a crowd of people, as if the dead were all standing there waiting. Link felt as if they were, he felt the gravity of the situation sitting heavily on his shoulders.
At the same time, though, he felt… good. This felt right. And he…
The images of his memory came unbidden, of faces he barely knew in his mind but knew in his heart.
They’d lost so many.
“Calamity Ganon… is gone,” Zelda said, her voice thick but growing stronger. “The plague that destroyed our land is no more. So you… you all can rest. We thank you for your sacrifices, we mourn you for your loss, we beg for forgiveness that it… that it took this long.”
Link stepped forward, his shoulder brushing hers. When she glanced at him, he offered a smile. No more regrets, Zelda. This isn’t about that.
Zelda seemed to read that in his expression, and she nodded, closing her eyes.
“It’s over,” she whispered, kneeling and placing flowers by a stone they’d found and decided to use for the occasion. “It’s over.”
And for the first time in two weeks, Zelda cried. And for the first time in his living memory, Link cried.
And as the sun set and their tears dried, they smiled, and moved on together.

THE MUPPET SERIES (2015) IS AN AMAZING HIDDEN GEM OF A SHOW THAT EVERYONE NEEDS TO WATCH.
Tumblr media
Hello! If you don't know, the muppets had a mockumentary style TV show that aired on ABC in 2015. I watched it, and boy did I love it. The premise of the show is simple. The Muppets have moved on from the classic Muppet Telethon that we all know and love. They now run a late night talk show with Ms Piggy as the host, Kermit as the producer, Fozzie Bear as the warm up comedian before the show, and Rizzo, Pepe, and Gonzo as the writers. All other Muppets have office jobs around the studio. The show wastes no time letting us know that Ms Piggy and Kermit have (somewhat recently) broken up, and seem to be over each other. Piggy is focused on her show while Kermit is focused on running the show and his new girlfriend. (Who is also a pig, funnily enough.) The mockumentary style of the show allows for us to explore the characters and how they really feel about the people around them and the situations they find themselves in, which is VERY important because this show dives deep into Piggy and Kermit's relationship.
Now, this show has more mature humor. A lot of the jokes aren't really meant for kids. They don't go so far as to cuss, but you get the point. That's important for this show because it really helps the muppets feel like actual adults. They have jobs, relationships, cars, taxes, the issue of deciding where to go for lunch, etc. At some points you forget that they're muppets until you get to a scene where Fozzie Bear is driving a car and you realize how ridiculous it looks. Seeing the muppets in these very real and relatable situations makes for good humor that genuinely made me laugh many times. None of it felt too cheesy or corny. Mostly because it really does feel like a group of coworkers becoming friends, who are trying to fulfill their dreams, relationships, and selves all at the same time. It's just… so much fun. Their the muppets… what more can I say?
Aside from humor, the friendships and relationship dynamics are another highlight of this show. There are just SO MANY that the writers did right. Deadly and Piggy's relationship was especially funny and sweet to me. They both compliment each other extremely well. While Deadly is the realistic, dramatic and brutally honest type, Piggy is the flamboyant, dramatic, and over the top celebrity that Deadly constantly has to watch over and take care of. However, he doesn't always seem to hate it. Deadly has a genuine love and care for Piggy that he won't always admit to. He constantly has her back and is taking care of her every need. It's his job, but I don't think he'd ever want to do it for any other celebrity. Piggy doesn't always see how much he does for her, but when she does, she appreciates it and returns the favor when she can. I'd go more into it but then this post would be too long. There's also Kermit and Piggy, whose relationship is the focus of the show. They both start the show off as their worst selves. Kermit is hyper focused on the show and often disregards his coworkers and his own needs. He's a lot more focused on the job than even his own girlfriend at times. He's not super egotistical or rude, but he could stand to think more of others and their feelings sometimes. Piggy is even more egotistical and self absorbed though. She throws huge fits, is rude to every single coworker, yells at everyone, and is only nice when things are going her way. As the show goes on however, they both start to open up to those around them, realizing that if they prioritize those who are truly important to them and try to work better as a team, their coworkers and their show will be better for it.
Eventually, we get around to Piggy and Kermit reevaluating their own relationship and the way they feel about each other. I won't spoil how that goes for them but the drama between them is really good. If you, dear reader, only knew how emotionally invested I got in a pig and frog getting romantically together, you might be concerned.
I don't want to make too long of a post. Everything you've read so far was a huge impulse to write down some of my thoughts on this show. It may have come off as a shock to some people since I usually just post about gacha games, but this is me letting you know that this show captivated my heart so much that I had to write about it. Anywhere. I lay in my bed, typing away on my phone, thinking about the Muppets, and listening to The Rainbow Connection while imploring you to watch this show because it made me feel the way art is supposed to make you feel. You don't usually expect to find so much value in a dramatic story about love and relationships in a show about anthropomorphic puppets running a late night talk show, but it just might happen to you if you watch it. I hope I was able to articulate myself in a way that showed how strongly I feel about this show. This really is just a bunch of word vomit that hasn't been edited or proofread. If you did read all of it though, thank you. Hope you give the show a chance one day. It is 12:02am, so I'm going to go to sleep. I'll leave you with a clip from the show that showcases the humor, and the way the characters interact all in one.

If you happen to be a Disney executive reading this, by all means, bring this post up to your coworkers and higher ups. Let them know that at least one person somewhere out in the world, loved your show about silly little Muppets so much, that they would like a renewal even 6-8 years later. However, if you do, let them know that this person doesn't want ANYTHING like 'Muppets NOW!' I specifically want The Muppets (The Series 2015) renewed for a second season. Late night talk shows are still relevant and the muppets can still host one. Get Bill Prady and his team back. I want the same heart and passion that went into that first season. While you're at it, get a good voice actor for Kermit. I'm sure the Muppets Now VA was doing his best but you guys can hire someone with a better Kermit voice. If you can't do this, don't bother. The show didn't have too bad of an ending anyways.
If you happen to be Bill Prady, thank you for this show. It was a fun and awesome time. If you ever do anything with the muppets again, I'd be excited to see it.

How many people would I have to bribe to get official English print releases of Tai Sui and/or No Pollution, No Public Harm?
Ten? Dozens? Hundreds?
I don't even want retranslations. The fan translations are good. I just want to goggle at pretty cover art and hold them in my hands physically.
