Amel is the CEO of Loustat Inc. He did NOT force Les to Beat/Drop Lou in 1x5. Stop it, y'all.
I was scrolling the main tag & saw the most desperate copium from anons in this braindead fandom.
Grown frikkin adults want SO dang bad for AMC to baby everyone by using premises from CHILDHOOD shows, and treat the fandom like we're too effing stupid & immature to handle the realities of toxic and abusive relationships explicitly shown on screen for 2 whole seasons; to instead put ALL of the onus of Lestat's pisspoor decisions & actions on an effing spiritual possession.
The same folk who were so gung-ho that the fight/drop never happened & that the Trial would revisit everything & prove Louis AND Claudia were evil liars are back at it again, hoping the Drop will be revisited AGAIN in S3; but that this time AMEL will be shown possessing/influencing Lestat during the Ep5 fight to explain why Les was an abusive a-hole who dropped Lou & broke all his bones.
People are still convinced that AMC's gonna retcon S1 AND S2--EFF agency/autonomy/ADULT accountability, EFF Lestat's abandonment issues stemming from his traumatic past laying at the heart of his paranoia & oppressive behavior in the present cuz cycles are cycling--all to say:
See!? It wasn't your sweet innocent blorbo's fault at all~! It was that naughty scamp AMEL, the spirit in Akasha that powers all vampires, that made this grown effing man Lestat so wildly insecure about the "fragility of their union" & his own child possibly taking his grown husband away from him; that it made him chokeslam his child and throw her across the room so he could go back to punching the living daylights out of Louis and bite all over his face/cheeks and crack the bridge of his nose and blind him in one eye and even though he's clearly LUCID when he asks Louis if he's leaving & trying to restrain HIMSELF he simply MUST be possessed to smash Lou through a wall and drag him out of the courtyard by his effing jaw and tell their terrified traumatized sobbing daughter to her face as he clutched Louis' battered bloody face IDGAF about YOU and fly into the effing Oort Cloud draining Louis dry to beg him to say "Lestat I'm never going to love you, it would help ME a great deal to hear it from your lips, your quivering hateful lips" and say "anything for you" when Louis demanded Les "let go of me!" to watch as Louis fell 2km from the effing sky and NOT dive down to catch him before he smashed back down to earth "LIKE AN EGG FROM AN AIRPLANE" in a broken effing heap as their daughter cried her eyes out and he floated gracefully down to watch with a YEAH I DID IT TRY ME AGAIN look of resolute coldness on his face before he effed off to Algiers for 6 effing years to bone his mistress.
And they KNOW they sound wild as all hell, cuz they put in the I'm not a p.o.s. I promise! disclaimer; anyone who doesn't agree just isn't Intelligent(TM):
Even though abuse apologia is EXACTLY what you're doing. It wasn't possession or protection or a "a mistake, an accident" or any other BS--it is what Lestat outright SAID it was:
And ofc they focus on the Drop being the moment Amel steps in, cuz it uses the exact same footage from Ep5, confirming that Louis was HONEST about his eye being busted (which the bedroom revisits don't show, meaning his eye got effed up by whatever else Les did after smashing Lou thru the wall, cuz it's already swollen when Lou's being dragged by the jaw). The Drop is the most horrific aspect of Ep5 & the culmination of everything that happened, that even made the sadistic AF audience at the Theatre gasp in shock while Santiago tried to DOWNPLAY the Drop & Lestat's fault in it--"teased until you toppled" my arse. As always, ANY excuse to absolve him. 🙄😒
WHO THE HELL IS #THEM!?! Too effing late!
See how people spread hatred, ignorance, & bigotry through shady AF microaggression? This Us vs Them jargon is so racially charged it's not even funny, cuz it's been about black!Louis & white!Lestat ever since Jacob's casting was announced, and ESPECIALLY ever since Ep5 put everything that was already sus about Lestat on the show AND in the books in 4K HD resolution and AMC STILL hasn't walked it back.
What Bipoc Louis fans/stans H A T E & get offended by is racist AF gaslighting that villainizes the Black MC (& his fanbase) into believing that Black voices can't be trusted or respected without some white person's confirmation (Daniel & Lestat); and that mistreatment & abuse & outright assault at the hands of white people can't happen without y'all bringing up an abuser's tragic backstory or concocting a whole effing paranormal entity to excuse the evil actions privileged people inflict against those with less power than they have.
Believe it or not, not ALL Louistans hate Lestans, or Lestat, or Loustat being together. Ofc I can't speak for anyone else, but I for one love Lestat, and Loustat's my IWTV 2022 OTP, and I have Lestan mutuals (who aren't racist p.o.s.).
Not ALL Louistans are offended by or even GAF about DM--who weren't even MENTIONED in this convo; why even bring that up or drag them into this????
Not ALL Louistans hate Ep5 & the implications of the fight & the nuance of toxic relationships. I for one effing LOVE how real it all is. And actually, it was mostly LESTANS who were crying about Ep5 not having trigger warnings, pissed AF about Ep5 making Lestat look like the abusive villain, spinning their tops tryna figure out a way to excuse/explain it all away for the past 2 years--case in point from this desperate anon's message!
But why am I even blaming the anon, when apparently it's Lestat's superfans like Nalyra who made these wack ideas in the first place!?
And yet people swear that we--#them--are LYING (like Louis & Claudia) when we talk about the insidious problems in this fandom being funneled through superfans who actively create this BS that their followers then spread like radioactive waste all over the fandom; then they wanna wring their hands as if they're not the problem & that #those people are bullying them!?
Sure, walk it back NOW that AMC's definitively confirmed that the Drop/fight/abuse really happened & that LESTAT was at fault for choking out Claudia first. But y'all are SO determined to make sure to victim blame & cast fault at Louis' feet for DEFENDING his child--
--as superfans fake neutrality while ignoring the FACT that Lestat attacked CLAUDIA & started the fight between them by attacking Louis' DAUGHTER; encouraging people to read ill intent in everything Louis does & wish ill upon him by every effing character--
This isn't fanfiction they're writing for the lolz, this is what they literally want to see AMC make canon to shut #them up about abuse. Like, it's not even BOOK canon that Amel would EVER feel that way about Louis! I wonder how much of the books Nonny even bothered to read to think AMC would even come up with this plotline, when not even RHOSHAMANDES was that evil & mean-spirited when he kidnapped Louis & Gabrielle & Marius.
Nevermind that Amel canonically COULDN'T compel strong vampires to do EFF ALL so long as he was trapped in Akasha's body while she was asleep & there were too many vamps sucking his core dry--hence Akasha's purges once she woke up.
Nevermind that it's only been AFTER Akasha died (in the 1980s) that Amel had gotten stronger, so by the 20teens he was able to commune with Lestat, the (chosen) one he'd wanted all along--not Rhoshamandes or Mekare.
Nevermind that when Amel DID start communicating/compelling vampires (AFTER Akasha was finally dead), he wasn't interested in making vampires kill each other over petty/toxic/jealous effing squabbles--he was busy making moves so someone could get rid of The Twins & give him (the Sacred Core) a better host, cuz he was TIRED of being TRAPPED as a prisoner in another vegetable. He was driving vampires crazy with bloodlust so that THOUSANDS of vamps around the world would die & he could be free; NOT because he hated them personally & thought "Dropping you was exquisite."
Nevermind that when Amel FINALLY got Lestat to accept him inside his body and be Amel's new host, Lestat AND Louis were skeeved out by how hard Amel SHIPPED Loustat! XD I explained this ages ago:
Amel never touched Louis during the vampire massacres. Heck, even Akasha knew that harming Lou & Gabs would be THE dealbreaker on Les ever working with her; which is why the most epic scene in QotD happens when Akasha used her Fire Gift to SAVE Gabs & Lou & Les while they're escaping the concert.
Istg y'all.
I'm convinced y'all read the books with both eyes closed.
That must be it, cuz this is too easy.
Amel felt a connection with Louis not only cuz he loved Lestat & Lestat loved Louis, but also (less importantly?) for the simple/vain fact that Louis has green eyes--and Ame also had green eyes back when he was living in Atlantis--and so did Mekare, his favorite back when she was a mortal witch who could still commune with him (& the Twins were green-eyed gingers like he was, too; he likes red hair).
The ONE aspect I can see AMC possibly changing is Louis' Fire Gift affecting his power levels, and the fact that Lou DIDN'T actually die/flatline when he tried killing himself in 2x5 a la Merrick; which permanently cut him off from Amel's neural link/silver cord/etc.
WHERE in any of the actual book canon written by Anne Rice herself is there any indication that Amel would hate Louis and actively WANT Lestat to hurt him?
Can I see AMC making Amel a bigger threat than he was in the books? Of course, since a lot of his nonsense happened off-screen anyway. But Rhoshamandes is the REAL problem in the PL Trilogy, not Amel. And during the QotD era, Amel's too weak to do much, and Akasha STILL decides to spare Louis cuz she knows what side her bread's buttered on. Once she's gone, the only compelling Amel gets Lestat to do is related to renovating the Chateau & winning Louis back so Loustat can get married & be happy together and Amel can stare at Louis & marvel at how pretty he is, cuz EVERYONE's a simp for Louis; suck on THOSE eggs! And in NOLA, Amel DEFINITELY couldn't compel Lestat to do a single bloody thing, cuz Akasha's not even awake yet. Anything book/AMC!Lestat did to Louis in NOLA was a decision HE made on. his. own.

So I saw Deadpool & Wolverine, and it was a frikkin BLAST! :D
As someone who loved the first two Deadpool movies, I feel this one topped them both! Everything great about the first two movies was amplified, and in a way that feels natural for these movies, like they've all been leading up to this.
Yeah, the fanservice is very blatant and over-the-top, but it's actually handled surprisingly well. While there are some characters in this film that exist solely as easter eggs (mostly background characters), they are given enough justification so that they feel like they fit in this world. There are also cameo characters that are fleshed out, are given character arcs, and play significant roles as supporting characters. It kinda feels like "Spider-Man: No Way Home" in that respect, just with Wade winking at the audience on top of that (as one would expect from him, lol).
What really got me though was how they handled the character of Wolverine in this movie. Since it's mentioned in the trailers, I don't think it's really a spoiler that this Wolverine isn't the same one from the Logan movie and previous X-Men films, but a variant from a different timeline who has a different past of his own. Though the movie (specifically Wade) obviously pokes fun at the fact that it's Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine again, they actually do a great job establishing this version as his own unique character with a compelling story arc. This Wolverine character was handled fantastically and he had great chemistry with Deadpool in a sort of "buddy cop movie" kind of way. Jackman's still got it!
I think the one negative about the movie is that it does kinda require a bit of knowledge of the extended MCU content to understand what's going on. Like, if you haven't watched at least the first season of Loki you might be a little lost in some aspects. Maybe? I guess they do give enough context in the movie itself so an average audience member could get the gist. I dunno. lol
But that aside, this movie was a hell of a lot of fun, filled with action, over-the-top violence, humor both light and dark, and enough heart where it's needed to keep it all together. I highly recommend this movie, especially if you enjoy ridiculous action comedies, or are just a total comic book nerd. Give it a watch! ^^

Hiiii i love the dragon au so much! I think i went through all the past asks so i dont think these are repeat but if they are im so sorry
But 2 things:
1. Who do you hc as the older twin? Or do you hc that they switch who is older and younger?
And 2 is less of an ask and more of a cool thing for the au. But the song "Rule #4 - Fish in a Birdcage" by Fish in a Birdcage fits Leo and the dragon au so well
Again, obsessed with this au
Thank you!!! I’m glad you like it (ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧
I don’t mind repeat questions at all! I’m flattered you went and checked though!! So frikkin ironic that it was a question someone literally JUST asked today. 😂😂 For clarification, Leo is younger in all my AUs! You can see it for COI in this post, where a freshly hatched Donnie is helping Leo break his own egg. ∠( ᐛ 」∠)_
But seriously, all is good dude!! When I notice repeats, and I don’t have anything to add, I usually just link the ask I did answer the question in lmao.
And two, thank you very much. I will add that to my increasingly long Blue Nimja Teetle playlist…
#someone else also recommended Flying by Cody Fry#which I’ve considered like a frikkin theme song for the au at this point—#I’ll be sure to listen to Rule 4 as soon as I’m off work!!#asks#rottmnt#rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles#rise of the tmnt#COI au#curse of icarus

The reason I did this month…
As I said, I am a fan of alternate interpretations. If done well, we get Webby from Ducktales. If done poorly, we get Velma. The trick is knowing what to replace and what to keep. For me, as great of a job Alvin did with his take, everyone else threw what made Mecha Sonic unique in favor of Alvin’s. IDW shows just how much more there is than a villain.
And it all begins on an island. Sonic and Tails got hit by a lightning bolt and crashed their plane. Sonic wakes up with a sprained ankle in a makeshift cast. To his surprise, this island is full of discarded Badniks who defected from Eggman’s control and created their own society. Besides E-117 Sigma being the leader, the most notable of them is Mecha Sonic.
After the Events of Sonic and Knuckles, Sigma and the other Scrapniks found him. He looked torn apart and was missing an arm and a leg. Sigma did his best to repair him, leading him to the rustic red look he has now. Sigma promised Mecha a new life and it seems Mecha is appreciating that. But ever since Sonic got on the island, he’s been showing signs of glitching.
The glitches get worse as he fights Mecha Knuckles, whose Programming to beat up Sonic trumps Sigma’s attempts to make him just guard the Egg Carrier. And while he defeats Mecha Knuckles, he realizes his means of escape is through Sonic. And by through, I mean becoming. Eggman built a mind transfer device and after getting Tails Pad, plans to replace Sonic’s mind with his, leaving Sonic at best trapped in his body and at worst in Mecha Sonic’s.
Luckily for Sonic, the Scrapniks save him in time. But not soon enough as like the OVA, the two share thoughts with each other. Sonic, even with an injured leg, beats Mecha Sonic who pretty much accepted his fate. He saw himself as worthless. He failed to defeat Sonic. He failed to protect the Scrapniks. He was more than willing to die for his mistakes. But this is where Sonic’s arguments for Surge really take hold.
You give yourself value and purpose. No one else. This is what he means when bringing up Omega and Gemel. They were both built by Robotnik but despite that (even if Tails reprogrammed Gemel) they overcame that programming and became their own thing. And like them, Mecha Sonic takes those words to heart and accept’s Sonic’s help. As well as the help of Tails and the Scrapniks since Sonic’s ankle is still sprained.
The series ends with Mecha Sonic officially removed from Robotnik's old programming and now no longer lets the past define him. He is now heading towards the future, off this island and to freedom. I frikkin love this interpretation of Mecha Sonic as it gives him more depth than any previous incarnation. It’s even superior to Metal Sonic’s OVA depiction in my opinion. He’s not a mere copy of Sonic. He’s his own being who will make a legacy of his own.
So take these words to heart. Do not be afraid to make your own interpretations. Let them experience a new Point of View. You may find even Velma’s Velma can be done better with the right people penning her.

If this is legit, it's wonderful news! ^0^ I was hoping he was a Talamasca member!
I really hope this guy's Raglan James from TotBT, and not another frikkin undercover vampire. The Armand gotcha was enough; I hope they don't start recycling the same tricks every season.
A better reveal would be that this guy comes across as helping Daniel, trusted enough that Daniel has even told him everything about these vampires already, and then we find out he's been gathering intel so he can jump a vulnerable vampire to bodywap! 😈
And omg, would he be tryna target LOUIS!? Thinking, Oh, he's weak, he hasn't killed anyone since 2000, he's depressed & hates being a vampire; he'd be the PERFECT candidate to want to swap bodies and live a human life again! 👀 Cuz Raglan was a predator, through & through, taking advantage of Lestat's desperation, self-loathing, and naivety/arrogance in underestimating him. I could see this....
But I'd MUCH rather prefer a Merrick ending though, NGL.
I've already said a several times how much I hate TotBT, it's one of AR's worst books IMO. But AMC elevated IWTV's source material (another book I didn't really like), so I have faith that they can elevate TotBT (and hopefully get rid of the godawful racism, sexism, rape, etc). My problem is that LOUIS being in Raglan's crosshairs would be a white man taking a black man's body, and vice versa. I hated that in the book (amongst other things), and I'll hate it here, too. It wasn't cute when they made David Indian, and it won't be cute here either. Hopefully Louis turns Raglan down, and Armand/Lestat intervenes & packs Raglan up. OR they can go the book route & just have Raglan & Lestat swap bodies.
It would make sense to tie it in with the Talamasca show AMC's already working on, as well as tease out the potential to have another season dedicated to Lestat's various hijinks. I'm still hoping we'll get a Ciprien cameo/crossover, as I really liked him in MW.
This would also be a great opportunity for a Daniel/David fusion, as Daniel would already have an in with the Talamasca through Raglan. Since David = Louis + Daniel anyway.
I felt SO bad for David, what Lestat did to him was disgusting, but do we really need David? I mean I guess we'll REALLY need more good eggs to represent the Talamasca, cuz MW has that Albrecht dude being 100 levels of a-hole, and they're making the whole organization look more devious/villainous than they really deserve (the Talamascans who helped Lasher & met Ashlar in Taltos were ROGUES; they weren't the real Elders/members at all). Adding Raglan to the mix will NOT help their image. (Esp. since MW did EFF ALL to explain how the Mayfairs are descended from a good Talamascan Lasher hated.)
So yeah, if this is a legit casting then I'm excited! I really want to see them flesh out the Talamasca more, and bringing Raglan in early as a "friend" would certainly be an interesting way to do it! 👍
🔴🔴🔴🔴S2 SPOILER, WHO IS JUSTIN KIRK ? 🔴🔴🔴🔴 See the thread below 👇
According to Ep 1 to 6 He plays Raglan james who works for the Talamsca . He's known as the body thief later in the books . But my theory is he's not actually Raglan James but someone more important . Possibly Marius or David . But we won't know until Ep 7 or 8 .

Skellige Skies
Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri during one of their many jaunts around the Skellige isles.
MY THOUGHTS (rabid fangirl ranting and rambling--SPOILER ALERT)
I’ve been replaying TW3 all summer. Best game of all time--fight me on this; I’ll Igni you in the frikkin face.
I swear, I was so frikkin happy when CDPR announced they’re doing TW4. Like, FINALLY. Leave Cyperpunk 2077 ALONE; you effed up, people don’t care what you fix anymore; its reputation’s already ruined.
Just go back to what you’re ACTUALLY good at, and give us more of that delicious witchering and butchering goodness!
I know CDPR said Geralt’s story’s done, which is fine--let him retire in style in Toussaint; he deserves it.
But Imma need TW4 to officially make Ciri a witcher.
I don’t care if the “best“ ending is to make her Empress, witcher!Ciri is my very favorite ending.
I get that, worldbuilding-wise, Ciri being empress is the best thing that can happen--all the other kings SUUUUUCK, so having her on the throne serves the greater good. But this is The Witcher, ffs--EFF the “greater good”!!
The Witcher is morally grey at BEST, where people are motivated by nothing but self interest, NOT self sacrifice.
In the very worst ending, Ciri becomes the ultimate martyr, sacrificing herself and dying for everyone’s sins to stop the White Frost; then Geralt effs off to the wilderness and basically kills himself.
So how is Ciri becoming queen supposed to be the “best”? Does this girl LOOK happy as royalty!?
All Ciri ever does is brag about beasts she’s slain and horse races she’s won and places she’s traveled to. So it just makes no sense to me that it would be BEST FOR CIRI for her to be shackled to some stupid throne she never asked for, in some stupid country she never lived in, for a stupid father she never met, when the entire game was all about her being wild and free, loving Geralt and Uncle Vesemir, and traveling on the Path.
Not to mention, it grosses me TF out how Emhyr (dad of the frikkin year ISTG 🙄) promised Empress Ciri to General Voorhis (that a-hole) in an arranged marriage that was HARDLY different from Avallach promising her to Eredin 🤮. And on top of that, if the player chooses to make Ciri a lesbian, then WTF are we doing consigning her to a loveless marriage to General Voorhis as queen?!
At least let Ciri marry Cerys! XD Ciri LOVES Skellige, and the whole An Craite clan loves Ciri, so that would just as easily solve CDPR wanting Ciri to remain as royalty, and also keep Skellige from going to war with Nilfgaard.
I SHIP IT. 😍
So yeah, I refuse to believe the Empress ending is canonically the “best” one. I will NEVER send Geralt & Ciri to Vizima, EFF EMHYR, eff Nilfgaard, and eff Voorhis while we’re at it.
In TW4 I hope they let us load our TW3 save, so Ciri can stay a witcher, and we can explore different worlds and times with her and her friends. CDPR already effed us over by not even having Ciri as an NPC in C2077, after all the easter eggs and hype, like WTF. A MAGAZINE!? That’s it? Are you effing kidding?
So if Ciri HAS to start off as empress in TW4, I hope she abdicates the throne once she realizes she effing hates being a pawn of Emhyr and the Lodge of Sorceresses--don’t forget about those scheming wenches! Philippa would’ve been in her ear the whole time--how is THAT a good ending for anyone?
PLEASE, CDPR, don’t eff this up. 🙏
OK, rant over.

IWTV S2 Ep4 Musings - Baby LouLou
Yeah, Louis' right: this whole joint is WEIRD. It's SICK.
Did she literally take a dump? Or lay an egg? Lord, wtf am I watching?
It's like Disney and Dr Seuss got married & had Rosemary's Baby.
More caged bird bird analogies and suicidal ideation.
And it's a YELLOW bird, too--AMC STOP IT, MY FEELS.
NOOOOOO. No sunshine! BAD sunshine!
Nail in the coffin/birdie/child.
Amputation foreshaowing perhaps? Of another body part of Claudia's that will get cut off by the Coven, before she dies? Hrm....
And the COMPLICIT audience is lapping it all up, it's just syrup. (NGL I lowkey want one of those umbrellas.)
Lesmand's tower scene foreshadowing?
This image is cursed. Ghost!Claudia's dress looks a yellowish--UGH.
Sam, you need to be studied.
Louis & Santiago finally have something in common. Cuz SAME! Wtf. Like wtF?
LOL! Luchenbaum said this song is so bad it gives him child abuse PTSD! 😭
Jeeze. 😅 Marked reversal--cuz Claudia LOVES Santiago's performances, esp. No Pain. Like--NGL, I hate the song, too, it's deliberately awful, LOL. But methinks the vamp doth protest too much--maybe you're hating cuz someone's stealing the spotlight from YOU? 😜😜😜
Literally her feelings in S1 post-Ep5 about Loustat. GOD.
Both "Birdie" Baby LouLou AND Louis are caught in a trap, amen.
Armand has some nerve--maybe y'all need new frikkin material!? How the heck do you play the same exact shows 500 times in a row?! Just shows how DEAD INSIDE these vamps are--not even monotony & excessive repetition registers for them; that someone could lose their "childlike wonder" once the novelty wears off. Louis gets it, but Armand doesn't--he represents the vampire trope of them easily getting lost in hypnotic patterns--which is why in some lore they can get stuck counting spilled rice/beans/sand & beans, and staring at flecks of light on a fly's wing or microwaving 1000 rats a night or whatever. book!Daniel had it WAY worse, but Armand had it, too. (And lord, don't get me started on Lasher....)
SELF-sabotage, Mr. I Could Not Prevent It. The only thing "bromidic" here is YOUR "creative" vision! Give her a new play, DANG! 😡

So I just got back from seeing the Super Mario Bros. Movie, and omg it was fantastic! :D
It was just so much fun, and I had a dumb smile on my face throughout the entire frikkin movie! lol
It was everything I could want in a Mario movie! And yeah, probably the most video game-y film adaptation of a video game ever! XD
Just seriously, it was so much fun! If you love the Mario games, this is definitely a movie you'll enjoy! ^^
And so many little references packed into the background of so many scenes! I wish I could have paused the movie so I could find all the little easter eggs! XD
And I loved the sweet brotherly bond between Mario and Luigi! It was done so well! ^^
Peach was awesome! Definitely a bit more of a "girl boss" than she is in the games, but not in a way that felt too out of character. It makes sense in the context of the film.
Bowser was just amazing! But that's to be expected from Jack Black, lol. Such a fun villain who at times is goofy, but other times can be genuinely intimidating, and I think they struck a good balance.
Also really loved Toad, Kamek, DK, Cranky, and Spike! They were such fun characters!
Also, special shout out to Charles Martinet in the movie! I won't say who he voices, but they utilized him very nicely, and in a way that really paid homage to his contributions to the Mario franchise!
But yeah, this movie was pretty much what I expected/was hoping for from an animated Mario Bros. movie, and even surprised me in some parts! Overall, I highly recommend it! ^^

Trans person here, if that means anything, with another genderbend opinion.
The intent of the person *writing* the genderbend or cisswap matters more than the fact that it is a genderbend itself. If the author or artist is a transphobe, or a homophobe, or generally speaking a bigot, odds are the genderbend is being done to "get rid of" queer elements in a story they want to tell. Then, it's safe to say the trope *is being used* in a way that's shitty!
If the author or artist is *generally-not/consciously-attempting-to-not be a bigot* and is writing a genderbend - who the hell cares? They're having fun. They're not doing it to hurt anyone's feelings. They're exploring, bumbling around in the fandom like the rest of us. So take your (general your) peripheral hurt feelings elsewhere. You're not the focus of their art - they are. They're creating for *themselves.* So don't make it about how you personally relate to their explorations of genderbend/cisswaps.
So - it's not the trope that's transphobic. It's the person actually making the damn thing. Keep the focus on the person, not the product - and if they're an ally, or some flavor of LGBTQ+, or a potential egg getting ready to crack - then your unrelated ass jumping on them and yelling at them for having some innocent-frikkin fun (or not-so-innocent, it IS fandom lol) is going to do NOTHING but hurt someone you should be helping. It's going to scare someone away from something they enjoyed, when *this trope is not the problem itself, it's how it's being used.*
I see a lot of people think using a trope is bad but when in reality it is use of that trope that is bad.

Gracious yalls are raggin on SatAM in the tags more than I see anywhere else. "skrosksk environmentalism 🧠🔨" man I just wanna see fanart 🪑
Foist of all, the most common misconception I see is that every freedom fighter is anti technology. However, the only group we see that is true to this title would be the Wolf Pack. From the episode "Cry of the Wolf." Clearly stated with the main characters, we see that Sally has a device named Nicole, Rotor is The Tech Guy™, and Bunnie is literally half robot. Of course not by choice, but it gives a lot of advantages for the team. Heck even Uncle Chuck worked on this kinda stuff, considering he made the machine that defines Robotnik's character, which I'll get to later. Now yes, there are environmentalist undertones, but this was a common theme for 90s cartoons. I re watch this show a lot, and it never looks dead in the camera and tells you to plant a tree. If anything, Adventures of Sonic does that.
And then there's Robotnik. There's like an ongoing war with how this guy was interpreted. I'll give it a rating first.
Design: 6/10
Character: 7/10
Voice: 10/10
Starting with his design. Well, long story short, they didn't get his JP ref sheet. The producers of SatAM, among other fairly early Sonic continuity writers, were only given so much detail into this universe that they had to pull a few straws to make things a bit more...."consise." To put it in short terms, all they got was "Robotnik is the egg shaped bad guy who turns animals into robots." The concept art is very surreal, and just barely has the essence of Eggman. But hey, they kept the formula right. Red on top, black on bottom, yellow cape, big ol mustache. His villain generic black/red eyes are most likely AMSegas promotional art mistaking his glasses on his sprite for soulless caves. Not quite, but they got the right idea in the end. (the robotic arm is a nice touch)
His character is one that I exclusively tie to SatAM. Like if you say "Robotnik" instead of "Eggman," this is usually the first guy I think of. This is the only interpretation of him that actually took over, and poses as an serious threat, (that was well written *cough*Forces) so there's not a lot I can compare him to. A common complaint I see with this guy is that he always sits around while his robots or Snively do all the heavy lifting. While true, I see it as that he thinks so lowly of Sonic's team, he barely bats an eye or leaves his chair to deal with them. They're just that beneath him. Oh and the Naugus scene. Honestly, it was a little rushed. I feel like that's why it was so absurd. Naugus' little act was explained in one episode. They play Robotnik as this fearless warlord, so they wanted to give him something to be afraid of. Because despite his robotic appendages, he is a human. Don't even get me started on his an Snively's dynamic, that is for another day. As much as I like this interpretation, I hate the roboticizer twist. This ain't even a misinterpretation thing, they knew that was the whole point of his character. In short, he's your average edgy 90s big bad, except crank the darkness up like a few notches. Stands out across the sea of goofy eggmen.
Here's a cursed fact, he's got the same VA of Winnie the Pooh! Have that image brandished in your head. The deliveries of 80% of his lines really show how much of a creep he is. Like the shudders he does in between lines are actually unsettling. Snively does this too sometimes, but Robotnik's is too believably sadistic. There's a scene where there was like no music playing, in the beat of silence you could hear the frikkin harty inhale before delivering the next line and it made me physically recoil. Only one other character has successfully portrayed themselves with their voice alone, and got that reaction outta me, and that's the Pumpkin Rabbit from the Walten Files. Underground may have the same Robotnik design, but SatAMs got the fitting voice.
Obviously this ain't the perfect cartoon with a prime message. Heck, newer shows like Steven Universe tackle a lot of heavier topics, and it doesn't have the best writing either. But it stands strong for only having 23 episodes, with several airing and production issues, ie Antoine filler episodes/THE cliffhanger. There's so many "what could've been"s for this show that outweigh the "already are"s.
