Das unwahrscheinliche Komikergespann Curd Jürgens als aristokratischer polnischer Oberst und Danny Kaye als geübter Dauerflüchtling Jacobowsky fliehen mit der reizenden Nicole Maurey und Akim Tamiroff quer durch Frankreich vor den einfallenden Nazis. Ohne Jacobowsky hätten sie es wohl kaum geschafft. Dafür, wie unerträglich die beiden sein können, zeigen sie sich leidlich feinsinnig, und es ist es ist tatsächlich recht witzig. Besonders verglichen mit allen anderen Franz-Werfel-Stoffen, die mir sonst in den Sinn kommen (da kenne ich mich aber nicht so aus, weil ich immer in Alma-Geschichtchen hängenbleibe, wenn ich mich darüber informieren will....)

What he (Thomas) did at the World Cup, people don't talk about it. They don't talk about it, but they should talk about it. He plays the game the right way: he defends, he attacks, he controls the ball when he has to control it, he reverses when he has to reverse it. When he has to finish, he'll finish.

He doesn't do stepovers, but when he has to perform, he performs. He does what the game asks him to do
