Will the fact that Engen wants to leave Barca not leave a bitter taste in the mouth of Barca fans? Any player who wants to leave a club, even if for valid and understandable reasons, doesn’t want to be there. I think she’s good for Barca and Barca good for her but there’s always that little bit of sourness when a player expresses they want to leave and then ends up staying.

believe me, the fact that barça legends jenni and mariona, who were barça players for many, many years still get hate from a section of culers tells you everything you need to know about how fans feel about this perceived " betrayal" to the club. keira is getting the same type of treatment now, and yes, it will probably be brought up about ingrid every now and then among some bitter culers, even if she stays.

again, it's one of the toxic elements of our club that i wish didn't exist. you see how the club has badly treated some of the other legends like melanie serrano, vicky losada, sandra paños, andrea pereira and others, so it's not like staying at the club is a guaranteed measure of happiness either.

ultimately, i value the loyalty that players like aitana and alexia have to this club, but i also understand how that is easier to have when your entire life has been in barcelona. i cannot fault players for wanting other life experiences or likewise returning back home. 🙏

people throw around this quote with such ease without knowing what the feeling and sentiment is behind it. this club is not a prison and it's being used as a weapon to dismiss the good work that many players have done to help barça win its titles.

go ahead and question my loyalty to this team and my catalan pride if you want, but i think we are being very unfair here. 🙏
