It is Janurary 9th, 2025, and Lee Van Cleef would have turned 100 today.
Let's take some time to remember and appreciate this man for not just his iconic/gorgeous looks or however you would like to remember them, but his underrated talent, his incredible roles, good bad or neither, and him as a person as well.
He was a man who struggled a lot while he was alive. He faced many injuries and problems throughout his 64 years of life, which included drinking problems, a car accident, heart problems, throat cancer, and more.
However, despite many personal problems, Lee Van Cleef has also been able to do and has done positive things as well. Van Cleef was a war hero during World War II. He worked as a sonarman in the US Navy and was assigned to the USS Incredible minesweeper and performed sweeping duties and air-sea rescue patrols. Similar to Clint Eastwood, Van Cleef was also very versatile with his characters. He made them interesting, engaging, and complex, and you can't help but appreciate them.
Here are some of our favorites from Lee Van Cleef!

He truly was the best of the bad. Happy birthday, Mr. Van Cleef.

ok but if monica did legitimately name ian “ian clayton gallagher” not because clayton was a gallagher family name, but because she knew she was fucking frank’s brother, that’s actually so funny idc

Absolute Batman 1.
The first series in the Absolute Universe line. This is DC's version of an Ultimate Universe. A different world and timeline with different versions of the heroes we know.
This was fantastic. A really cool and different take on the Dark Knight.

Absolute Batman #2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I love it when the 2nd issue matches the energy of the 1st. We get more devolvement in Bruce's life and Batman's.  Scott Snyder is doing a phenomenal job building this new world with old and new characters that we desperately want to know more about with the help of Clayton Cowles. Nick Dragotta and Frank Martin make every panel count with presenting dread and skepticism of how Gotham City is being run. Please pick up this comic and the reprint if you missed out on the debut issue. This is a serious you def want to read for all Batman fans.
