I really like MLP stuff because I feel like a lot of artists choose to set their stories in the 20's(makes sense it's a cool time period). But when drawing their characters and settings they look mostly at the fashion and the architecture and not the drawings of the time. Which always made me sad because the commercial illustrations, comics and paintings look so good and still feel totally modern and fresh even though they are almost 100 years old.

Anyways I just want to say that your art really has that sleek modern feel and I was wondering if there were any specific illustrators that you keep in mind or if I'm just making stuff up in my head

This is a small thing I've also been struggling with art for the AU project. Deciding whether or not I want it to truly feel authentic to the 20s/30s or draw what feels natural to me. I ended up going with the latter because if I'm constantly forcing myself to draw in a style that doesn't feel right for me, it'll stop being fun really quickly and I'll burn out. That's why a lot of the illustrations feel more anime-ish.

That being said, I pull a lot of inspiration from 50s-60s pulp comics (especially in the CYMK color palettes) and 1920s graphic artists like Leyendecker and Hirschfeld. In terms of graphic design, I'll sometimes pull from art deco, art nouveau, or reference the visual flourishes of book covers from the time period.

Animation is not only an entertainment for younger audiences, it’s a medium, a form of art and Storytelling that can appeal to every age group. Stories that are unique and wonderful in their own way and doesn’t need to have any sort of live action remake.

Hey everyone its the daystar voyage Head LT Kyoko cane here to bring you another good post on my blog, one of my concerned posts on black poc representation in black media

Today in this two part special where gonna discuss about Good hair in animation & how it can define the character and fashion.

i wanted to talk about the topic of hair in animated shows, how it can define the details and proper cultural portrayal of how black people or POC have been represented as a whole (be it of mixed ecthnicity)

Lets get down to it, I feel we need to make a discussion on the Good & bad on proper cultural rep on shows especially when it relates & emotes to viewers & fans, we do have the discussions oof having nothing but our sexuality been made a character define characteer instead of good character, wriitng, physcial features and up holding a beauty standard.

The topic of HAIR Appreciation in animation, Questionable taste in how hair is not styled well for ethnicity.

Luz's hair has so much symbolism of who she is, going to all works of animation, I do feel when she wasn't fully understood at home she acted out very ill-conditioned cause her father pass and moved into a new area, never relating to anyone, So it leads her to not changing her looks be it fashion, which i feel the shows writing shouldve explored more into why she keeps in short and theres a topic ill put in is masculization of black women think about it.

Dear I say it, after rewatching the show, IT feels like A LETDOWN & missed chances at times, with the staff & writers not know how to make great hairstyles to show proper culutral race. (and i have seen alot of fanart who did a great job on giving her better styles that enhnace her physcial features.

i feel this a recurring trope been used since the miles morales hair controversy cause black people or poc presented hair comes in many forms that can gives so much praise. Hers a article on the miles morales hair debut which is a logical standpoint on hair reprenentation, shows we need to have more diverse hairstyles in media or poc characters

I mean girl this HAIRMET (Fused words hairdo+helmet) and my goodness will never let them down for the outfit choices for luz comparing the femme presented amity and willow which is tasteless at best.

Now unlike other media i talked about above whihc have been flawed in design and dont contribute to the chaaracters growth, two shows that did a absolutely great job of showing good ethnic & cultural representation in series such as amphibia & molly mcgee whihc made raw characters come out of theere own with greatness with prominent physical features

While anne boonchy & moon girl lunella had great writing, having there cultural cleebbrated in great execution of proper black hair great with good results, In moon girl we also get in episode where we discuss why we see black people be in love with there selves for there beautiful features including hair along anne boochuy diaspora making a impact.

look at the hairstlyes from the winx club, the long hair on characters as layla (aisha) & flora is PHENOMENAL AND COULD’VE PLAYED A ROLE IN BLACK PEOPLES HAIR BEING BEAUTIFUL FOR VIEWERS

One Great example for hair representation, and also cultural goodness put into it was the Winx club (which had actual fashion designers work on the character concepts and outfits)

Dream Productions being a prequel to Inside Out 2 adds a tragic layer to that animated film. Inside Out 2 reintroduces audiences to Riley a few years after the events of Inside Out. On the cusp of high school, Riley is thrown for an additional loop at hockey camp when she discovers her two best friends Grace and Bree are actually set to go to another high school. This sets off an internal conflict within Riley's emotions, which leads to the primary plot and emotional ending of Inside Out 2.

By contrast, Dream Productions is a more low-key storyline that focuses on the inner workings of Riley's sleep cycles. The show also specifically takes place between the events of the Inside Out films, which means Grace and Bree are more pronounced characters. This exploration of Riley's friends in the Inside Out franchise has a somewhat bittersweet and quietly tragic impact on Inside Out 2 and builds up that film's saddest elements.

i completely understand why Disney created "Tinkerbell And The Lost Treasure" first before other movies but i have 1 question though

i'm saying this because of the weather but why does THIS movie have to take place in FALL?! Summer makes much more sense to me, it only rains sometimes, thunders and storms only occurs sometimes, it's like almost always sunny, THIS movie gives me that vibe

besides isn't it weird Summer should come first before fall? (Summer takes place after Spring but a little before Fall starts) that's the other reason why it's so weird why Summer is skipped in this movie! "The Great Fairy Rescue" gives me more like a Fall vibe because it's exactly the weathers i've described which i expect this more from Fall, NOT from Summer the movies in itself should stay the same but the seasons in itself should be switched with "The Lost Treasure" taking place in Summer and "The Great Fairy Rescue" taking place in Fall, i feel like it makes much more sense to me but maybe it's just me? i love The Lost Treasure movie (unpopular opinion) don't get me wrong but the seasons along with the next movie doesn't makes sense to me again i completely understand why Disney choose "The Lost Treasure" first before the other movies because Tinkerbell had a lot to learn about things even after the first movie which is completely based on her and i feel like she learned most of the stuff from "The Lost Treasure" movie, like Tinkerbell took her responsibilities, how to be a good friend, how she should work on herself, learn how to deal with the dangers and its consequences, how to resolve things, the tittle completely makes sense on my point of view on this movie (Terence was much of a help for Tinkerbell in this movie)

The Medium of Animation💖 - a powerful way of Storytelling with Art

Animation is a beautiful way of Storytelling and Art. There is so much love and passion put in this works. Animating things is not easy, this why we have to give credit to the artist who created these magnificent movies with their creative hands. AI can’t do such beautiful works like the httyd-trilogy or Frozen. Animation is not only special because of its power of storytelling but also of its emphasis on Art. These Animator’s, who animated all these films and series are artists.

Because of these movies and the ones that will follow we have to defend the medium of animation and all his creators. Animation will be more respected in the future, if we appreciate it more and show it to other people. Maybe their is a chance that Animation will be in the coming future not only seen as a fun entertainment just for kids but as a medium were everyone can relate to. The Medium of Animation has so much to offer. Hope it will be seen.

Also fight me animated sequels have better quality than the LA ones, except for the Jurassic Park trilogy. Man JP3 was scary and funny and stupid but I loved it anyway.
