He looked down at his watch that he sported on his wrist, "I've got a couple hours before I'm picking up the kids from my dad. He's got them going on the rides and probably getting them all jacked up on sugar." At least the twins, Naomi was far too young for any of that yet.

"Have you gone out with Jeremy again?" Lenny would be lying if she said she wasn't curious about Nate's assistant and her best friend. She had been careful not to press too much but Lenny had already finished one drink and was feeling much braver. She knew she could have asked Jeremy but he tended to be more elusive when it came to the women in his life.

Yasmin loved getting out and even more so for town events. Being born and raised in East Haven, she had very fond memories of all the activities and games and celebrations growing up. Now, at forty years old, she still found joy in participating. This year, she opted for the dunk tank among other activities. She wasn't just throwing this year but also sitting on the ledge, wondering which person was going to dunk her. It didn't take long before she was dunked into the water, soaking her to the bone. Yasmin emerged from the tent not long after, nearly walking into someone on her way out as she was focused on towel drying her hair. "Shit, I am so sorry," she fumbled, stepping back as she pulled the towel down from her hair.

Dana didn't particularly love the ferris wheel due to her fear that it was going to get stuck and it was going to get stuck at the top. But, with each passing year that she worked for Julian, she made a point to do something that scared her. This year it was the ferris wheel - well that, and she was hoping the fear would override her feelings for Reagan. No such luck would be had because as soon as she got on, Dana realized that she was loaded into a ferris wheel cart with none other than the woman she couldn't get off her mind. "The world has a funny way of doing things," Dana partially muttered, looking out to the rest of the carnival as the sun set behind them.

Julieta was in dire need of an iced coffee pick me up to get through the rest of the day. She planned on meeting up with both Liliana and Cass later in the evening but was spending some of the early afternoon hours perusing on her own. This wasn't her first carnival in East Haven and certainly wouldn't be her last. It did bring her back to her teenage years, even, coming to visit Enrique. Thoughts of the past sent her into a daze as she ordered and waited for her coffee. Once she thought she saw her order, she went to reach for it- realizing she was reaching for it at the same time as someone else, but it had become too late to pull her hand away.

Eli would be lying if he said he wasn't nursing his wounds over the last few days leading up to the event. He imagined confessing his feelings to Isla much differently than they had played out. Eli never imagined that they would both be on a date, never imagined that after he blurted out how he felt for her that they would be interrupted by her date. And it was Braxton. The other male had always got under Eli's skin. So, Eli tended to his wounds with drinks and he went straight to one of the vendors serving alcohol after his shift at work, grabbing a lone table off to the side.
