In The Skeleton Tarot Deck, the Four of Coins reveals a skeleton clinging tightly to one coin against its chest, while two coins cover its eyes and one coin rests on its head. A reverse dollar sign is scrawled between its eyes. This haunting image speaks volumes about control, security, and the consequences of holding on too tightly.
The Four of Coins asks us to examine how we might be holding on to power, resources, or privilege in ways that hinder progress and equity. It challenges us to consider the importance of redistributing wealth and resources, sharing power, and being open to change and new perspectives. Progress requires us to let go of rigid control and to embrace a more inclusive and equitable approach.
When you draw this card, it’s like the universe is gently nudging you to think about your relationship with material possessions and security. The skeleton, with coins covering its eyes and head, suggests a preoccupation with wealth or stability that may be blinding you to other important aspects of life. Holding the coin close to its chest shows a fear of loss and a desire to maintain control, even at the expense of openness and connection.
This card invites you to reflect on whether your focus on material security is preventing you from seeing the bigger picture or from experiencing joy and freedom. It’s a reminder to find balance, to not let fear of loss govern your actions, and to be mindful of how clinging to possessions can limit your perspective and potential.
So, let this card inspire you to loosen your grip, to open your eyes and mind to new possibilities, and to trust in the abundance that comes from collaboration and generosity. It’s a bone-chilling reminder that true security and fulfillment come from sharing, connecting, and being open to the world around you. 💀💰🌍
When this card appears, consider:
Are you holding on to something (money, control, power, access) so tightly that it's controlling you? What do you gain from letting the coins fall?
Is your vision clouded by focusing on your resources?
When you make your decisions, are you making them from a place of abundance or scarcity? Can you reverse your thinking on what you have?
when the four of coins appears in reverse:
Are you caught in the trap of thinking you have to preserve what you have at all costs?
Have you been avoiding risks for fear of losing wealth or access?
Are you in the driver's seat, making the decisions, or is your fear?

Four of Coins was the second card I did for @dptarotproject! With this one my process was bit chaotic, but I'm pretty happy with the end result and it was nice to draw Jack 🧡

WHY did Javert want to capture Jean Valjean so bad. He literally was going after him YEARS later. Because of a LOAF OF BREAD. HE STOLE A LOAF OF BREAD. What if Javert was letting murderers get away because he was so focused on finding Jean Valjean.

Mermay 2022. 4 of coins.
This one was tricky to get the pre-sketch stage done, as I had somehow completely failed to consider what this concept might look like in practice. Once that was done though, everything came nicely enough. Even the hands, which was unexpected but welcome.
For this card, I knew I’d be doing one of those animals that can swallow things larger than itself, and “gulper eel” was the only one where I actually remembered the name, so that’s what I went with. The whole concept of “prudence vs miserliness” gets kind of diluted when you’re dealing with creatures where they HAVE to take whatever food they’re able to, because they don’t know when they’ll get their next meal, but… okay I tried two completely different ways to finish off this sentence, and neither of them worked well, so I’ll just leave it at “maybe this is a slightly different interpretation, or maybe the merms differ from the fish in that regard, whichever option works best for you”.
Progress thread here.

Quatre de Deniers. Art by Matthew Meyer, from Tarot Yōkai.
コインの四 FURARIBI Furaribi is a small flying creature wrapped in flames that emerges from abandoned souls who have not managed to go further, often due to negligence in funeral and commemorative practices. The Four of Pentacles refers to a feeling of lack, almost abandonment, or the fear of lacking money or any other material security. Upright: economy, scarcity, control. The Four of Pentacles suggests looking at our relationship with money on the one hand, we make sure to save to ensure our financial security, on the other hand, we seem to give too much value to money (and other material goods). This card asks to respect money and financial well-being, without however becoming a slave to it or developing too strong an attachment to it to the detriment of the other gifts of life: emotions, family, love. Reversed: greed, protection, excessive spending. Reversed, the Four of Pentacles indicates that we are reevaluating our priorities; we have paid too much attention to our material life and it is time to rediscover other values in life that contribute to our well-being. Furthermore, this Four reversed can warn against excessive spending and overly expensive habits. Alternatively, it invites us to pay attention to greed: we anxiously seek security, stability and the protection of our assets in an attempt to ensure a financially secure future.

My journey to pulling a Ciel acrylic charm from a Harajuku gacha machine was as long as it was humbling 💀

I had better luck on the wind-up toy keychain machine at Gashapon no Depato Ikebukuro (got The Boy on the second try) and also bought little surly schoolboy Ciel separately from a collectibles shop in Nakano Broadway (he was like $15 though)

ANDREY STAMATIN
Keep a close eye on Peter. You'd become desperate and turn into a villain without him.
I spend a lot of time thinking about daniil and peter, but something just clicked into place for me with andrey. so!
I am. currently untangling this thread of thoughts about the stamatin twins and daniil and this kind of. triangle that's happening. a three fold bullet for sure, the kind of recognition-awareness-understanding where three people become one, but to step back from that. when daniil and andrey talk, there's a specific shape of peter that stands in his conversational absence. so: triangle formation. it's opposite-adjacent-complementary to daniil and peter's conversations. it all goes back to that first conversation you have with andrey. it's giving knife. love it!

Actually now that I’m thinking about it. When did All for One start identifying himself as All for One?? Who gave him The Three Musketeers to read?? Did he try going by “The Demon Lord” as a teenager and someone went “😬 I don’t know about that, boss” and he couldn’t even provide them a cool mononym, so he came up with “All for One”? So much lore hidden away from us…
Genuinely like where did he get that from. Even if he was in his "all for me" (/"all for Yoichi") thing like. That does not actually translate to calling yourself half of a musketeer motto. If he told his followers to call him "all for me" or "demon lord" who's gonna suggest AfO instead... Like... Not even "all consuming" or such.
