Hazbin Oc x Canon Week: Day 2 - Date Night (FrostedApple)
For @hazbinocxcanon
Glacia/Gloria is from this if you want to see more of her. Lucifer is pacing back and forth in his chambers, running his hands through his hair nervously. He keeps glancing at his reflection in the mirror, rehearsing different lines. "Come on, Lucifer, you can do this. She's just a woman." Lucifer said, anxiously. "A gorgeous, enchanting, incredible woman. But still, just a woman!" He shakes his head, letting out a deep breath. "Okay, let's try this again." He clears his throat, "Gloria, my darling snow angel, would you do me the extraordinary honor of accompanying me on a romantic rendezvous?" he asked. He grimaces, smacking his forehead. "Too formal, too stuffy. She'll think I'm being a pretentious prick." Lucifer starts pacing once more, trying to loosen up his body language. "Hey Glori, you, me, candlelit dinner, some wine, maybe a little dancing after? Whaddya say, babe?" He immediately winces, shaking his head vehemently. "No, no, no! She'll think I'm some sleazy dirtbag trying to get into her pants! Damn it, Lucifer, get it together!" Lucifer takes a few calming breaths, his hands on his hips as he stares at himself in the mirror. Finally, he nods, a look of determination on his face. "Okay. Here we go. Simple, sincere, from the heart." He straightens his posture and plasters on his most charming smile as he practices the line. "Gloria, I was hoping you might join me for dinner tonight. Just the two of us, on a… on a date." Lucifer said. This time, he nodded, feeling more confident. "Yes, that's it. Clear, direct, no room for misinterpretation. She'll know exactly what I'm asking." With one last deep breath, Lucifer heads out of his chambers in search of Glacia, his heart pounding with anticipation. Some time later, Lucifer finds Glacia in the hotel's garden, tending to the frost-covered flowers. He takes a moment to admire her, then gathers his courage and approaches her. "Gloria, c-can I have a moment?" Lucifer asked. Glacia turned to face him, "Of course, Luci. What's on your mind?" Glacia asked with a friendly smile. Lucifer took her hand in his, "Glacia, I was hoping you might join me for dinner tonight. Just the two of us, on a… on a date." Glacia's eyes widen slightly, and a soft blush creeps onto her cheeks. For a moment, Lucifer fears he's overstepped, but then she smiles, squeezing his hand. "Yes, Luci. I would love to go on a date with you." Glacia accepted. Lucifer feels like his heart might burst with joy. "Oh-oh really? You do?!" he asked, hoping this wasn't a trick.
Glacia nodded, revealing it wasn't.
"Th-that's great!" he said happily. "Guess I've pick you up later?"
Glacia nodded, "Sure!" "Great! See you..tonight!" Lucifer said. He sped off, bumping into a wall, making Glacia gasp before he rose up, showing he was okay. Later Lucifer paces nervously in front of the hotel, fiddling with his bowtie. He's dressed to the nines in a dapper black suit, red vest, and shiny dress shoes. A bouquet of icy blue roses is clutched in his sweaty hand. "Okay, you've got this. It's just a date. With the most beautiful demoness in all the realms. No pressure." Lucifer muttered to himself, he tugs at his collar, "Ugh, why is it so hot out here?" Just then, the hotel doors open and Glacia steps out. Lucifer's jaw drops, the roses tumbling from his slack grip. Glacia is a vision in a sleek, off-the-shoulder gown the color of a winter sky. It clings to her curves like a second skin, the slit up the side revealing tantalizing glimpses of smooth pale leg. Her hair is swept up in an elegant twist, tendrils framing her face. "Gloria…you look…I mean…wow." Lucifer exclaimed. "Thank you, Luci." Glacia said blushing, smiling shyly. She takes in his dashing appearance. "You clean up quite nicely yourself~" Lucifer scrambles to retrieve the fallen bouquet, thrusting it towards Glacia with a nervous grin. "For you, snow angel. Though they pale in comparison to your beauty." he said sheepishly.
Lucifer offers her his arm, and they set off on their date. He takes her to a beautiful ice sculpture garden, where they walk hand in hand, admiring the intricate designs.
Lucifer points out a sculpture, "Look, Gloria! That one looks just like you, wifey, a perfect snow angel."
"Oh, Luci, you're too sweet." Glacia said, laughing.
Next, Lucifer takes Glacia to a fancy restaurant, where he has reserved the best table. They enjoy a delicious meal, talking and laughing, lost in each other's company.
Lucifer raises his glass, "A toast, to the most beautiful and enchanting woman in all of Hell."
"And to the most charming and attentive date a girl could ask for." Glacia said, clinking her glass against his.
After dinner, Lucifer surprises Glacia with tickets to a live performance of her favorite musical. They sit close together, holding hands, as they watch the show.
"Luci, this is incredible. Thank you so much." Glacia whispered.
"Anything for you, my snow angel." Lucifer whispered, squeezing her hand.
As the date comes to an end, Lucifer walks Glacia back to her door. They stand facing each other, both reluctant to say goodnight.
"Gloria, I had an amazing time with you today. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did." Lucifer said.
"It was perfect, Luci. The best date I've ever been on." Glacia said.
Glacia leans down slightly and gently kisses Lucifer on the cheek. Lucifer's eyes widen, and a goofy grin spreads across his face.
"I… I'm so glad you had a good time." Lucifer said, touching his cheek where she kissed him.
"Goodnight, my king. Sweet dreams~" Glacia whispered in his ear before going inside her room.
As Glacia closes the door, Lucifer stands there for a moment, his heart soaring with joy. He pumps his fist in the air, doing a little victory dance.
"Yes! She kissed me! On the cheek, but still! Best. Date. Ever!" Lucifer exclaimed excitedly to himself.
Lucifer practically skips away, already planning their next date in his head, determined to make each one better than the last, until he finally wins Glacia's heart completely.

have had it (1952) ⚜ crease it (1959) ⚜ zonk (1968)
The list displays a remarkable inventiveness, as people struggle to find fresh forms of expression.
The language of death is inevitably euphemistic, but few of the verbs or idioms shown here are elaborate or opaque.
In fact the history of verbs for dying displays a remarkable simplicity: 86 of the 121 entries (over 70%) consist of only one syllable, and monosyllables figure largely in the multi-word entries (such as pay one’s debt to nature).
Only 16 verbs are disyllabic, and only 3 are trisyllabic (determine, disperish, miscarry), loanwords from French, and along with expire, trespass, and decease showing the arrival of a more scholarly vocabulary in the 14th and 15th centuries.
Even the euphemisms of later centuries have a markedly monosyllabic character.
Some constructions evidently have permanent appeal because of their succinct and enigmatic character, such as the popularity of ‘____ it’ (whatever the ‘it’ is): snuff it, peg it, buy it, cop it, off it, crease it, have had it.
It’s possible to see changes in fashion, such as the vogue for colloquial usages in "off" in the middle of the 18th century (move off, pop off, pack off, hop off ).
And styles change: we no longer feel that "pass out" would be appropriate on a tombstone. But some things don’t change. Pass away has been with us since the 14th century. And, in a usage that dates back to the 12th, we still do say that people, simply, died.

question concerning magic and adam's time as the beast. for adam to be cursed as a beast for that long, it must have been a pretty powerful spell. and during ben and gil's adventure saving ben's parents, did adam transform willing back into the beast (after so many years at that) to protect belle? if so, that is a good reference to the justification at the parks, why he was the beast, instead of his prince form, that he could change willing back and forworth depending on how he was feeling.
but also wouldn't ben have also inherited that ability from adam? would also make sense why belle and adam only had one kid, just cause of adam's own fears.
also concidering who belle's mother was, and the power of the spell that was put on adam, wouldn't that make ben in some ways like aurora, being seeped in magic?
Ooooh dang that’s an excellent point on Ben! And his being able to transform into a beast form would be a good tie in to his transformation in the 3rd Descendants movie. Could definitely see him as a cool benevolent werewolf magician king. In fact his being so steeped in magic from both sides would make sense for how he’s able to pull Aveyon province into the EverRealm when things start getting dicey.
Also I sort of assumed Adam had been transformed back in the BatB 2 story by the Enchantress who’d shown up, but honestly I like it being something he choose to do and was able to do through the inherent magic around them, so thanks to you for that good idea!

about kirsten;
Tumblr media
Full Character Name: Kirsten Eloise Cahill Does your character have siblings? What are their names?: She has three older siblings, all adoptive. From oldest to youngest, Harrison, Connor, and Cayla. What is your characters best subject in school? Charms. What is your characters wand? 9 1/2″ Alder wand with a core of unicorn hair Can your character cast a Patronus? What is it? What memory do they use?: She cannot. Who is your characters best friend?: Another 6th year Hufflepuff named Renée Does your character look up to anyone? Who? Not really, with some degree of exception to a person or two in her group of friends. Her parents live a life that she doesn’t want (monotonous, were married right out of school, and have only lived in Ireland, rarely traveling) and most of her siblings are just too different from her. She used to look up to her dad a lot, who has a similar personality that she did, very quiet and mousy, nose constantly in a book. But he doesn’t speak to her much anymore, mostly out of confusion. What is your characters relationship like with their family? Distant. They worry for her with her drastic change in personality, and with her being so far away from them for most of the year, it exacerbates that worry. She feels smothered and babied, refusing to check in with them if it isn’t Connor writing. There’s a little bitterness towards her parents for how strict she grew up. Surprisingly, she holds very little issues about her adoption, and has never felt like she was lesser than her other siblings for not being blood related. If your character has siblings, do they have a favorite? Connor is her favorite. He’s a lot like she is, and always covers for her to her parents. What is your characters go-to spell in a duel? Depulso What spell does your character use most often? Lumos. She’s a night owl. Five or more facts/headcanons about your character: 1. When she was younger, she wanted to be a professional figure skater. 2. Has the ability to fall asleep just about anywhere. If there’s a surface to rest her head on, she’s out like a light. 3. When she was drunk one night, she got a friend to stick and poke a poorly drawn badger on her shoulder. She has a few more, but that one is her favorite to show off because she knows how dumb it is. 4. She grew up on a large plot of land with a horse barn, and she’s had her own horse named Fiona for the past 7 years. She views her horse as one of her best friends back home. 5. When she actually showed up and was mentally present for quidditch, she was incredibly talented, but she’ll never get the chance to get back on the team. 6. Though she knows she’s adopted, she has very little interest in finding her birth father, viewing it as searching deliberately for disappointment. (Optional) Bio: Kirsten was born to Aggie and Duncan Forworth, a young wizard couple in London, though her life with them was not very long. When Kirsten was two, Aggie passed away, and Duncan found himself unable to care for the girl on his own. From there, Kirsten was adopted by a larger muggle family in rural Ireland, and remembered next to nothing of her birth family apart from flashes of her mother’s dark hair. With her own darker hair, she always stood out like a sore thumb in her family of blondes. They were strict but kind to her, and she got along decently with her three other brothers and sisters. She was a quiet girl, content with reading in her bedroom or visiting the horses outside. When she got her Hogwarts letter at 11, it was a shock to everyone, though there had been weird occurrences around Kirsten on and off through the years, like her mother’s antique tea cabinet shattering when Kirsten was throwing a fit. When she got to Hogwarts, it took her a while to fall into a group of people, but once she did, something in her started to change. She was taken under the wing by a few trouble making kids, and Kirsten herself adapted to try and fit in with them. Over the years, she became more of a louder, mouthy girl, with less focus on her studies and more on her social life. She skips class to drink and hide away with her friends, pulling pranks and laughing, and when she isn’t in class or with them, she’s in detention. Kirsten is the kindest of her group, easily making friends with most people with her bubbly personality and eagerness to talk. Her laugh is easily picked out in the Great Hall. Once on the Quidditch team as a beater, she was kicked after barely one season for too many tardies. She now doesn’t bother much with extracurricular activities, and instead tries to slide by with grades just passing enough to keep her parents mostly off her back.

Glacia in 'Mastermind'
Just watched Mastermind and I can see Glacia coming in Lucifer's stead and when Satan starts talking shit, Glacia is getting pissed at him insulting her man (due to not knowing the timeline, I'd probably keep their relationship ambiguous as to whether or not, they're dating or not, but Glacia would be upset) and Bee having to stop her from intervening lest she get herself killed/maimed by him (she's a powerful sinner but still a sinner none the less).
(I do have a Helluva Boss fic with Glacia's sister, Willow, but I'm very slow in updating it like still season 1, slow.)

Basic investment Tips for Beginners
Be Disciplined:
"Investing isn’t concerning beating others at their game. It's concerning dominant yourself at your own game.”
“By developing your discipline and spirit, you'll be able to refuse to let alternative people’s mood swings govern your monetary destiny. In the end, however your investments behave is way lesser than how you behave.”
Don’t react to the market, however rather to dedicated analysis, knowledge and analysis. concentrate on your investments, and let cold, exhausting facts sway your choices, not rumour or panic.
Be Business-like:
“The sillier the market’s behaviour, the larger the chance for the business-like capitalist.”
“The intelligent capitalist ought to recognise that market panics will produce great costs permanently corporations and good prices for excellent companies.”
“A defensive capitalist will invariably prosper by wanting with patience and sedately through the part of a market.”
investment isn't associate emotional endeavor. It’s analytical and unemotional, that is why it ought to be approached like every alternative business. You rummage around forworth wherever others don’t see it, and benefit of that… while not obtaining wedged within the panic of a market or the thrill of a market. Don’t end up creating cocksurechoices.
Be Long:
“In the short run the market could be a mechanical device, however within the future it's a weighing balance.”
“Never get a stock as a result of it's gone up or sell one because it has gone down.”
Every worth capitalist is aware of one exhausting truth: the money is within the long game, not the short. you wish to apply patience, perceive what your long goals are, and keep on with them. ne'er attempt to take short-cuts.
Be Minimal:
“Thousands of individuals have tried, and also the proof is clear: The additional you trade, the less you retain.”
“If fees consume quite a hundred forty five of your assets annually, you ought to in all probability buy another authority.”
It’s simple: the additional you trade, the additional you pay. this suggests that if you don’t end up creating solely the foremost necessary trades, however rather mercantilismwhere you're thinking that a fast buck can be made… well, you’ll be paying out of your ears. This ties into the previous three tips: understand your future goals and keep on with them, creating token trades with discipline and patience.
Be a Risk Manager
“Successful investment is concerning managing risk, not avoiding it.”
Being an capitalist is like being a climber. the danger is usually there, regardless of however exhausting you are trying to avoid it. That’s sensible to stay within the back of your mind, as a result of forgetting it will cause you to become cocksure, or focusing entirely thereon will lead you to form rash choices. an honest worth capitalistunderstands the danger hospitable him/her, and diversifies their portfolio to guard themselves as best they will against it. If one investment falls flat, you ought to have a heterogenous portfolio in order that another investment will prevent.
There's a ton additional behind these five steps, of course. If you would like to be radio-controlled through building your portfolio, simply transfer our sensible Guide to worthInvesting: Building Your Portfolio below.

I'd argue Apu is a dynamic character beyond a stereotype. He loves his job, applies for citizenship, gets married, starts a family and so forworth. During the show's first decade he was one of the few characters outside of the titular family who grew and changed.
It's inaccurate to present him as nothing more than a one dimensional caricature, a least, as far as earlier episodes are concerned.
That doesn't mean aspects of his characterization are without issue, or that it's okay for white actors to play POC characters, or that stereotypes/mishandled representation don't have repercussions. All the points being raised about the character are valid, and the show's response was utterly tone deaf and hollow.
Tumblr media
Comedian Hari Kondabolu made a documentary in 2017 called The Problem With Apu. It’s not very long — less than an hour. In it, he interrogates the legacy of Apu, the convenience store owner on The Simpsons voiced by Hank Azaria. Kondabolu talked to other actors and comics who longed for more South Asian representation, only to find that at the time, Apu was just about all there was. And Apu was not only voiced by a white actor, but he was doing what Azaria has acknowledged is a take on Peter Sellers doing an Indian accent in the movie The Party. In other words, he based his caricature of an accent on someone else’s caricature of an accent. Or, as Kondabolu said on W. Kamau Bell’s show Totally Biased, “a white guy doing an impression of a white guy making fun of my father.”
Sunday night, The Simpsons offered what is apparently its best effort at a response. In one of the plotlines, Marge tries to read Lisa a book she loved as a little girl and realizes it’s full of racist stereotypes. In an effort to share the book with Lisa without passing along the things she finds offensive, Marge revises the book and brings it back to Lisa.
“It takes a lot of work to take the spirit and character out of a book, but now it’s as inoffensive as a Sunday in Cincinnati,” Marge announces. Marge has changed everything in the book so that nothing in it can bother anyone, which involves making the central character so perfect that, as Lisa instantly announces, “there’s no point to the book.” Marge asks what she’s supposed to do.
This comparison is utterly dishonest, of course, for a multitude of reasons. Apu is not the central character of The Simpsons, and it’s absurd to suggest that the fabric of the show will be unwound if he doesn’t continue to be the same caricature he is. His existence at the periphery — his very flatness, and his definition as a bag of signifiers meant to scream “INDIAN!” is integral to what it means to write a racist stereotype. It’s galling that writers will force a character to exist as funny scenery and then complain that they cannot change him without upsetting the emotional arc of the series.
