that's great buddy but don't go around thinking you're immune to this. if you're not looking for plagiarism, you likely won't notice it unless its egregiously obvious. hell, you've probably consumed plagiarized content without even realizing it. even hbomb pointed out that these people disguised what they presented pretty well as long as you didn't try and dig deeper. don't come away just thinking of this as a callout piece, take this as an important lesson about vetting your sources. if googling scripts in quotes was enough to expose the original, we should all start doing that shit!!

Something that I think is really funny is that the word Anaklysmos (Riptide) doesn't even exist, it's just a combination of a suffix that means above and the verb κλύζω which means to ripple😭 [Help, even my Greek keyboard doesn't even recognize the word]

I read these books when I was 12 and as a native Greek speaker that also studied ancient Greek for 6 years, I fully thought this was an actual word because it sounds Greek but it's not 😭 Mf Rick Riordan gaslit me in my own language. Apparently he asked an ancient Greek professor and told him that this was the closest word he could use but like, my question is why😭? There are so many already existing words that are related to the sea and even if they don't directly translate to 'Riptide', just pick a Greek word and paraphrase it when translating it to English like it's not hard 😭

After Mabel, Abuelita is the one person in the house Bill least wants to piss off. His first full day in the shack, she tried to poison him with a genial, inscrutable calm; and remained genially inscrutably calm when he called her out on it. That's a stone-cold killer. She wasn't afraid to try to kill Bill Cipher and she wasn't afraid when she was caught trying to kill Bill Cipher. He respects her and slightly fears her. So far, she's the only human who's outright tried to kill him since his reincarnation, and he feels there's very little keeping her from trying again.

If that weren't a concern though, he might occasionally make jabs about Soos's dad to him—and why stop there, his mom is a sore spot too—not to piss off Abuelita but just to bully Soos.

One thing I love about the eighth sense is how they focus on friendships. They are realistic. Neither overcomplicated nor oversimplified.

There are different types of friendships on the show:

There is Jae Won’s friendship with Taehyung and Yoon won. It’s complicated with Taehyung because he genuinely likes him but he puts up a show with him like with everybody else. Which is in contrast with Yoon Won who he is genuine and the most comfortable with to the point of admitting he didn’t like her at first. Taehyung also keeps interfering with his relationship with Eun ji while Yoon Won makes it clear that she doesn’t care about their issues and stays out of it. So while we see him more often with Taehyung, it’s clear who his real best friend is.

There is the friendship between Ji hyun and his childhood friend Joon Pyo. They act like siblings with how annoyed they are with each other one second, and then they go out together for coffee the next. Makes sense with how long they have known each other.

You have the friendship between Ji hyun and his boss which is just so wholesome. Both people from the countryside where the older one helps the younger one get used to the city. The way she also protected him when Eun Ji was being a bitch, to the point of risking a bad reputation is just amazing.

There is also the friendship between the freshman’s (Ji hyun, Ae ri, and Bit na) and it’s so adorable. Them being friends after Ji hyun drank for them is very logical. Also I really love Ae ri. I was scared they were going to ruin her character but I’m very glad they didn’t. I also think she consciously helped Ji Hyun by lying to Joong Pyo that they were together because she knew he was with Jae Won. It’s subtle but nice.

The friendship between Ji hyun and Jaewon is also shown well. Ji hyun genuinely makes an effort to befriend Jae won and vice versa. You can tell Jae won appreciates it a lot. Jae won always includes Ji hyun in the conversation while Ji hyun shares his interest with Jae won which is art which as an introvert shows how comfortable he is with him. Obviously they like each other as more the friends though which brings me to my next point.

The show shows/tells that there isn’t much of a difference between love and friendship. Yoon Won talks about how friendship is like dating (it falls apart and can ignite a new one). Ji hyun’s boss also says that if someone is trying to approach you that means they like you whether it’s friendship or love. Ae ri approached Ji hyun purely because of friendship while Jae Won approached him seemingly only out of friendship at first, but then that slowly turns into a different type of interest.

Their is a fine line between friendship and love and it often gets confused with each other. The freshman’s assume that there is something between Yoon Won and Jae won, she assumes that two of the freshman’s are gonna become a couple, Ji Hyun/his friend think Ae Ri likes him, Yoon won thinking Jae won liked her and so on.

The most obvious example of this is Jae won and Ji hyun walking on that line. They obviously have mutual feelings but aren’t quite lovers yet.

Anyway I just love the show’s portrayal of these types of friendships. Their realistic and very nice.

at this point i dont think i really like Lilia for who he is and its more of the fact that his relationship with Silver so INTERESTING to me

take your fandom goggles off for a moment and just look at them from an outsider’s point of view. Lilia is far from a perfect father, but Silver talks about him like he’s some literal god who rescued his ass from the pits of hell. most children don’t feel the need to “repay” their parents for raising them with love and care, which is completely valid because that’s the bare minimum of what a parent’s supposed to do.

Lilia has many flaws— he looks down on his schoolmates because he believes that he’s wiser and they’re just weak, fragile little humans. he takes people’s trust for granted and impulsively does whatever he wants without considering others’ feelings, probably because he doesn’t understand them as well as he thinks he does. he acts friendly and outspoken, but never reveals anything truly personal about himself because of the emotional brick wall that even his sons could not tear down.

Silver is the opposite. he views everyone as his equals, sometimes even regarding himself as inferior. he’s always considerate of other people and tends to be more empathetic than he realizes. he’s very quiet but genuine and doesn’t mind talking about his own personal experiences and turmoil.

deep down, i think there’s very little trust between them. they love each other more than the sun and moon, but would rather cut off their left hands than admit they both have issues. Silver doesn’t wish to be a burden, and Lilia refuses to let anyone see beyond his mask of being nothing but an easygoing and wise bat fae.
