Hey listen. I heard you were wanting to watch unfandomizable slop so I figured I would offer strange movies ive watched or heard of that really were cheesy or boring but might be an easy way to waste an hour doing something.

Sharknado and all its sequels:

It’s so stupid. It’s so so so stupid and bad and cheesy. It has some blood in it but god it’s just stupid. The sharks??? Get put in tornado??? And in one they get sent back in time??? It’s just. Stupid. Never got attached to any of the characters and could not follow the plot for the life of me so I’m hoping you feel the same.

Birdemic:

Ive only seen this one talked about in the history books of bad movies but OH GOD the clips I’ve seen look horrid.

Little shop of horrors:

This one’s a bit risky. It’s a fun movie but is a bit cheesy. This one’s veering on good since I actually like this one so if you don’t wanna take the risk I understand. Also feed me Seymour ate for some reason.

Snakes on a plane:

I don’t even know what this one is but I have a hint to what it could be. Haven’t watched it but SNL did a skit and my dad said it was bad so I’m assuming it’s bad.

There! A few things Ive watched or heard of that kinda suck. Hope you enjoy or actually I hope you don’t enjoy because these movies are supposed to suck.

yeah I'm familiar with these. I've seen little shop and at least a couple sharknados. I remember when snakes on a plane was a meme.

I see your Sharknado and i raise you Ghost Shark 2: Urban Jaws, the best bad movie I've ever seen. You can also watch ghost shark 1 but i don't think it's actually related to ghost shark 2 at all and it isn't NEARLY as campy.

The River Had Roots already had me by way of it being a fairytale, a conjugation (if you will) of the twa sisters, a story about sisters who sing to trees. But it’s also a riddle and a poem and has really beautiful llinocut illustrations. Amal El-Mohtar you’ve done it again and also I trust your taste implicitly and forever I think.

hi hello hi I need to scream for a sec but I HAVE A SHORT STORY IN A PRINT ANTHOLOGY! like a real actual physical book!!! the anthology as a whole is about resource scarcity and specifically the moment a resource runs out, and true to form I wrote a funky thing about time and grief and messy familial relationships and gardening. cuz what is there to do when something ends other than to keep maintaining your plants.

BABEL CHANGED ME. i got it from the library last year (use your public libraries, folks!!), devoured it in 24 hours, and was asked multiple times by my spouse if i was okay while sobbing on the couch. it's one of those rare books that i actually bought a physical copy of for rereading availability.

now, disclaimer: i'm already a lover of fantasy, and if you're not into those premises you probably won't be a huge fan of babel. but it was an exceptionally intriguing linguistic twist on magic, and it immediately and fundamentally shifted my approach to writing (as the best books do). i recommend babel to literally everyone who listens to my recs.

How would the Ro's react if Mc was giving them the silent treatment? Let's say it was bc Mc saw someone flirting with the Ro's and got jealous.

Cooking up a little mini drama here, I like it!

A couple ROs might actually attract a bit of attention when your group heads into some cities as well, so this may pop up to an extent.

Oswin:  He starts out chiding MC a bit. He’s a little upset, then worried, then upset again. He’s questioning every interaction he’s had recently with MC, thinking he must have done something wrong. Then he thinks he deserves it and he’s down on himself. He’ll bring a token of affection to try and make amends, give an apology speech and very sadly walk away to give MC space. If MC explains the reason for the silent treatment, Oswin will be stunned into silence himself.

Zahn:  This is the worst torture imaginable. They’re absolutely stewing about it. MC is getting bugged a lot and receiving tokens (treats, flowers, etc) and apologies. Extended periods of silence would be very scary for them and they’d fear the relationship was irreparably broken and would beg for MC to talk to them. If MC tells them the reason for their silence, Zahn will feel both pleased and maybe a bit grumpy.

Duri:  Would get pouty about it. They’d be a bit stubborn, pretend not to notice, then pretend it doesn’t bother them. They’d do subtle, silly, or tricky things to get MC to accidentally speak to them, and maybe slip in some cute things to make MC want to talk to them. If MC tells them the reason for the silent treatment, they’re going to be very flattered.

Rune:  Did not realize they were getting the silent treatment for quite a while. Once they pick up on it, they’re going to tell MC that they’ll listen when MC is ready to talk and will take it in stride. If MC tells them the reason for the silence, Rune will think it’s a bit cute.

???:  He’s going to be insufferable. Teasing MC, being annoying, trying to provoke a reaction - but he’s doing this to try and cope. He’s quietly worried that he’s hurt MC somehow and is analyzing everything to try and figure out what he did. If MC tells them what was up, he will reassure them that the MC is the only one he wants attention from.
