I’ve started playing dnd again and the campaign I’m in has the pitch that we all must be characters from written works. The plot is we got thrown out of our own stories and must find our way back.

I am Hamlet, a warlock who made a pact with his Dad’s ghost (it’s absolutely his Dad’s ghost, he wasn’t tricked at all, ignore the fiend patron type) to get revenge on his Uncle. But this post isn’t about him.

Because our cleric, the one entrusted with keeping the party full of heals, the only person with healing magic, is House MD.

“Wait Iz!” You cry. “House MD is a television show, not written fiction.” You’d be correct. Which is why our cleric House is not from the television show.

my hometown is completely gone from what pictures i can find of it, i have not heard from my family (including aunts, uncles, parents, one sibling, and a grandparent), and the infrastructure in the mountain communities is wiped out. i cannot stress how catastrophic this is, or how difficult it will be for these communities to build back. i am angry, and scared, and heartbroken by everything that's happened.

and our government is spending it's money to fund a genocide.

This is, unquestionably, Chaos 0’s main job in the Spectrum. Looking at our history he is absolutely the most emotionally powerful, honest, and empathetic individual in the Cathedral, and if you are around him your heart will open up like an ocean whether you like it or not.

Basically: if you are suppressing or ignoring your emotions, Chaos’s influence can and will flood every dam you’ve got. He’s an inestimable and beloved blessing to us all.

Laurie has even used this fact as a weapon against any Plague influence that threatens to calcify one’s heart. Bring the blue guy into the room; he feels so much so strongly that it hits everyone like a tidal wave. I would know.
