Let's get context here.
When we're talking
'let's get rid of or discourage anyone from reading these books'.
- Reason? Usually because there's some theme that certain people don't want to be known about, or because someone has issues with an author.
100% agreed that this is BAD - Books that talk about slavery, books that talk about The Holocaust.
These should always be widely available, even if they're not very well written, tell the story from an unusual angle or maybe get facts wrong.
All these have the value of getting the subject talked about, and the history studied.
Books that tell m/m or f/f love stories or show a family that simply has two dads or two mums. These books should be available, because whether people approve or disapprove, same sex relationships are a reality.
And as long as they're treated the same way as we'd expect a m/f couple to be, in a book aimed at the same age group, then where's the harm?
Then there's the saga of J K Rowling. You don't like her? You don't want to read her books? Well good news, because you don't have to do either.
But say that no one else should either? Try to erase J K Rowling as author of her own work?
Then don't go expecting to be seen as doing something 'good'.
When we're talking
"These books contain sexual/sexually related words and/or images, which makes them unsuitable for children and young teens. They do not belong in a school library or children's library'.
Then why would anyone have issue with these books being removed from such places?
As far as I know these books can be bought by parents for home use. So they're not getting outright banned.
People talk about children who've been sexually assaulted and needing to talk about what happened to them. And that's important. But I'm still not seeing how all these overly sexual details are necessary.
There's a world of difference between simply naming the body parts where no one should be touching them, especially not grown ups, and using the language of sexual acts!
We can and should be able to name all our body parts, using the right words. And children should know what constitutes a healthy and loving relationship.
But we can help them to talk about violations of this without language that they shouldn't need to know before the middle teens, at the earliest.
And this is NOT supposed to be an anti LGBT matter. This should apply whether a book is showing opposite sex or same sex couples.
As I said earlier. Little children should be able to see families with two same sex parents as well as opposite sex parents, or indeed grandparents.
The issue with 'Grandpa's Pride' shouldn't be that Grandpa has a male partner.
If this was shown exactly the same way that any other grandparents would be. Then I'd be singing a different tune.
Show Grandpa and his partner holding hands and happy, fine. But why the heck do little ones need to see leather BDSM Daddies?! đĄđĄđĄ

Iâm SorryâŠWhat?
Based on the following ask: Established relationship but itâs secret from the team. The team think they donât like each other but in truth they are deeply in love with each other but the team donât let them always be alone together out of worry so there have been a few close calls where they almost get caught until reader and Aaron room together and finally talk about maybe telling the team only the way they tell them is threw wedding invites and thatâs shocks the team and they all have questions to which reader and Aaron only smile thinking how funny it is that a team of profilers never found them out. Love this idea! In this, Derek kind of looks out for the reader â very âbig brotherâ behavior from him in this.
Aaron Hotchner x Fiance BAU! Fem Reader

Not edited - please be kind. Requests are open and feedback is welcome if it's constructive!
Warnings: My blog is 18+, minors DNI, some explicit language, meddling profilers, canon typical violence, mention of stabbing and hospitals, mention of wedding related activities, let me know if I missed anything!
I do not consent to having my work translated or reposted to any other site. That being said I do not own the characters portrayed in this story.
You stood from your desk, just about to head up to Hotchâs office with a file when Emily stopped you. Her hand resting on your forearm gently, her eyes meeting your own.
âI have to go drop this file off, let me take yours.â
âOh, Emily itâs okay. I can take them.â You moved to grab her file.
âGirl, itâs okayâŠI know how hard he is on you.â Emily stood, patted your shoulder and took the files to Hotchâs office.
--
Things had been like this pretty much since the moment youâd joined the BAU. For whatever reason, everyone on the team had just assumed that you and Hotch hated each otherâŠthat you two couldnât even be in the same room as one another without fighting. But that couldnât be further from the truth.
See, what the team didnât know was that Aaron and you were engaged. The two of you were dating even before you had joined the BAU. You had been working with a different team within the FBI, having a background in behavior analysisâŠmoving to the BAU when a spot opened up, that just made sense.
Aaron and you had agreed to keep things strictly professional at work to avoid any discomfort within the workplace. Apparently that choice was now biting you in the ass.
Working with profilers, youâd think the secret of your relationship would have come out a long time ago, that being said, doesnât mean there havenât been some close calls.
--
This had started early on in you career with the BAU. Aaron had avoided pairing the two of you together, simply to avoid any suspicion of your relationship. The team, however, took this as him not warming up to your presence on the team.
Then it was him âbenchingâ you. Aaron for a period of time had kept you in the local precincts on cases, you knew this was because he was worried about you getting hurt, but the team saw this as him questioning your abilities. They all reassured you that you were an asset to the team, more than capable in the field. Morgan had gone as far as confronting Aaron about the way he was mistreating you.
What really sealed this theory in your teammateâs heads was the way Aaron and you sparred. During debriefings the two of you would go back and forth through numerous theories, jabbing at one another for how âridiculousâ the other one was being. While to the team this looked argumentativeâŠit really was how the two of you were, always pushing one another, wanting them to be the best they can be. Unafraid to challenge one another.
Everything was different after that. The team worked overtime to keep things light when the two of you were around one another. They would step into conversations, inserting themselves when it wasnât necessary. They would jump in and offer to pair with one of you, so youâd never be stuck one-on-one.
At first you found it kind of funny, laughing internally at their crazy antics, but now that you were engaged, it was getting increasingly annoying. Youâd just wanted some alone time with your fiancĂ© and they were making it impossible.
--
You had gone to get a fresh cup of coffee to help you get through the remainder of your paperwork. Upon entering the kitchenette, you came face to face with your fiancé.
âHey sweetheart.â He quietly greeted.
âHi hon.â You smiled.
Aaron passed you a cup of coffee before moving to fill a second one for himself. Heâd been this way since the beginning, always putting you first no matter what. You offered him thanks and stood with him for a moment, enjoying the proximity.
âI got a call earlier from the florist, she sent over the invoice. I also sent the deposit to the caterer this morning.â You informed.
âFor the flowers, peonies right? Did you decide on pink or whi-â
âEverything okay in here?â Morgan bounded into the kitchenette. âYou guys look tenseâŠplease tell me you werenât fighting again.â
âNope, everything is good! I was just heading back to my desk.â You said before making your exit.
--
The next slip up was while away on a case. You had been with Derek interviewing someone that happened to be the unsub, only you hadnât been aware of that going in.
He had pulled a knife and moved quickly, leaving you with a nasty stab to the gut. You were lucky that it hadnât hit anything major. Youâd waved Derek off, telling him to go after the unsub.
After apprehending the guy, Derek made his way back to you to check in and make sure you were okay. He had called the team and for a medic, not leaving your side.
When Aaron showed up he was livid. The team took that as anger for your âmistakeâ, not realizing that his anger was directed toward himself â he was beating himself up for having sent you in there, putting you in this situation.
He rode with you in the ambulance to the hospitalâŠgiving the rest of the team time to talk about how he was probably reprimanding you. But once again, it couldnât have been further from the truth. He had held you hand and reassured you the whole way to the hospital.
The team met him there and waited by his side as you were tended to. And when the doctor came out and called your name, asking for family, Aaron didnât hesitate to rise to his feet, barely catching himself and mentally correcting fiancĂ© to boss.
--
After that, the team did everything they could to keep the two of you separated or at least had someone with you to act as a buffer. It was becoming exhausting â youâd been trying to give Aaron an update about some stuff for the wedding and you just couldnât get the chance.
The two of you would end up rapidly firing through topics once you arrived home for the evening, trying to catch one another up on wedding tasks, work tasks, and just everyday things.
âAaronâŠhave you thought about how much easier things would be if we just told the team about us?â
âYes I have. Why do you ask?â He admitted.
âJust, wellâŠtheyâve been annoying lately.â You huffed. âI donât mean to sound rude, you know I love them. But they just wonât quit, I canât get even a second alone with you at work and it is getting ridiculous.â
âYouâre right. When you were in the hospital last month, I almost let it slip in front of them. If itâs what you want, letâs tell them.â Aaron agreed.
And thus began your planning of how youâd tell the most oblivious group of profilers that the two of you didnât hate each other but were actually engaged to be married.
--
It took about a week and a half before you could officially tell the team your little secret. You had been waiting for your invitations to come in so you could hand deliver a few to your teamâŠit would be the perfect announcement.
âRound table in five.â Aaron called out into the bullpen.
âShitâŠhe seems pissed.â Emily hissed.
You couldnât help but giggle, knowing full well he was anything but pissed. Emily and you went and collected everyone, bringing them to the round table. There were hushed whispers about what this could be about, and when Penelope mentioned there wasnât a new case, you could feel the anxiety filling the room.
--
Aaron made his way in, his hands holding a neat stack of pale pink envelopes. You couldnât help but notice the way he commanded a room, his mere presence demanding the attention of those around him. This is what had initially drawn you to him all those years ago.
âI have something for each of you. Iâd like you to wait to open them until everyone has one.â Aaron announced.
He passed them out one by one, the room remaining silent the entire time. It didnât take long for everyone to notice that you were the only one who didnât receive an envelope.
âHotch man, if this is some kind of sick power move then I swear I will-â Derek began.
âPlease, open them.â You spoke before standing up and making your way to Aaronâs side.
Confusion painted its way across everyoneâs faces. Hands working quickly to open the envelopes theyâd been handed. You were shaking with anticipation, and you couldnât help the little smirk that made its way to your lips when the confusion was quickly replaced with shock.
âIâm sorryâŠwhat?â Penelope asked.
âWhat the hell is this?â Derek questioned.
Everyone began talking at once, talking about whether or not this was a joke. Asking if one another knew, and how long this had been going on.
âGuys!â You called. âAaron and I have been together for a few years, well before I started with the BAU. We got engaged about seven months agoâŠand well, weâd love it if you all would be there for us.â You smiled.
âI KNEW IT!â Rossi laughed. âI told you all from the beginning that they didnât hate one another, they love each other, and you all swore that they hated each other.â
--
Four months later, the BAU team stood by your sides as you said your vows and committed yourselves to one another.
And while the team dynamic shifted slightly with them knowing the two of you are together, and with there being two Agent Hotchners now, the one thing that didnât change was that this team was family and you all were there for one another no matter what.

Ajax listen,,,,listen to me Ajax-
Self Aware AU, where the cookies come to the player's/reader's world. Pick whichever characters you wanna include, I just need to see this đ
â âPart of your worldâ
â Characters ; Longan Dragon Cookie, Burning Spice Cookie, Shadow Milk Cookie, Timekeeper Cookie & Millennial Tree Cookie â Quote ; ââIf someone came to you and told you âOne day youâll have those who you love the most in the palm of your handâ, well⊠you never thought thatâd become true, nor that itâd be a metaphorâŠââ â Genre ; Headcanons/Drabble â A/N ; This took me a whole ass night to make and 2500+ words to finish, I hope you like it /lh
Longan Dragon Cookie
âHow quaint⊠to believe someone like you lives in such a⊠small placeâ
Having Longan Dragon in your home was⊠curious to say the least. Not something you expected, yet here you were, with a dragon looking at you as they squatted in your bedroom.
Longan would be hypercritical of the place you lived, noting things like âThis looks cheapâ or âIts far too smallâ
Despite that, Longan would be quite intrigued in your life, wanting to see how you worked or what you did, theyâd follow you around when not sitting in your living room and meditating.
Nevertheless, theyâre there for a reason, theyâre with you for a reason, and theyâll make that reason known very, very soon.
Itâd take Longan a few months, but eventually, they would come to sit by your side at the table, not sitting down on a chair but instead, sitting down by your side quite literally. Theyâd stare at you for long moments before finally leaning their head on your shoulder, the weight catching you off guard as you looked at them.Â
â... Iâll make sure you live like you deserve one of these daysâ Theyâd say, and in that moment, you understood why there had been so many disappearances of delinquents and robbers nearbyâŠ
If youâre wondering what theyâd do in your world, thenâŠ
One of the few favorite activities of Longan was to read, so much so, that you had to request books from the library more often than not, but with the way Longan was reading them⊠It had just been a few months, and yet this dragon had consumed almost all of your local libraryâs books. So, when they finished reading most of your books, theyâd chose to write them. And theyâd write about what they saw, about everything they had seen around them, everything they had seen in this new world, and in some sense, it was intriguing to see how a dragon explored the new world they were in, the little things that werent intriguing to you were greatly important to them, in a way that got you even more intrigued by how they saw you.
â... You want to know how I see you?â Theyâd ask.
You knew fully well that you shouldnt expect much, after all, this was Longan Dragon we were talking about, they werent a kind dragon, they saw cookies as lesser beings, and humans now by extensions, but as you asked them that question, theyâd only smile and pat your head softly.
âYouâre the reason Im here⊠Of course I would think highly of youâ
A genuine smile, it made your heart flutter as they spoke, a hand going to cup your chin in it.
âYouâre interesting, perhaps, one of the most interesting things Iâve seen in this world.â
Besides writing, theyâd follow you around and take note of everything youâd do⊠And by night, theyâd curl by your side, taking most of the bed as they allow you to take rest in their chest, as they allow you to take rest in their breaths while their hands thread on your hair.
Burning Spice Cookie
âHow intriguingâŠ! Never would I have expected your home to be so⊠so⊠ermâŠâ
Another one who seems to heavily judge your house, but also, another one who appears in your home kneeling because it is so small compared to him.
Either way, he gets eased into the ambient quite easily, his search for entertainment leading him to see through everything and all the world has to offer.
Until he⊠gets bored, again, because your world isnt as different from his (and in some sense, it is⊠actually⊠more boring than his old worldâŠ)
So, he moves to the next thing closest to him for entertainment!
âLittle one, come hereâÂ
Heâd call forward to you once, looking at you with dark yet fiery eyes and an everlasting smile, though you knew this once it hid something, after all, despite him coming to your world for x or y reason, it involved you, it always involved youâŠ
âEntertain meâ Would be his words once you approached him, his smile becoming only more cryptic as you lifted an eyebrow at his voice. Entertain, him? In what sense or way would you be able to entertain someone akin to a god?Â
Seeming to sense your doubt, Burning Spice would only come and hold you from your shirt, lifting you up before staring at you and thenâŠ
âHahahah, you shouldâve looked at your face, you really are an interesting one!â
If youâre wondering what heâd do in your world, thenâŠ
Besides seeking something for entertainment, Burning spice is in some sense able to somewhat pass through the crowd, and by that I mean he can somewhat pass as just a very tall human. Nonetheless, between choosing to hit the gym and sending you pictures, heâll also follow you around, finding even the most monotonous tasks fairly entertaining if it has you in it. Its a weird combo, being outside with a dude in a hoodie and sweat pants following you around while doing groceries, or being in the metro and getting a fairly nice picture of him flexing for you. Burning spice is a menaceâŠ
âAye, welcome home! I took care of some pesky people while you were gone⊠It was fun hearing their screamsâŠâ
âŠin far more ways than one.
Either way, you two also share a bed, its not like you have a choice with how clingy he can become when sleeping, pulling you in his arms in a heated hug (in the sense that he literally irradiates heat) while snoring loudly, youâve gotten complaints from neighbors (if you live in an apartment), but somehow⊠theyâve⊠theyâve quieted down recently⊠However, when you ask Burning Spice, he just laughs it off.
Shadow Milk Cookie
âWoowee, what do we have here, sweetheart?â
Not as judgemental of your home, no, for once someone isnt as focused on where you live butâŠ
He is focused on you, looking at you up and down, before hitting his head on the roof of your room, ouch!
He spends most of the days following you around though, using his magic to stay hidden from most people, so much that people may find you crazy for seeing you talk to⊠nothing!
Either way, much like the others, heâs there for a reasonâŠ
âWhy Im here?â
You asked Shadow Milk once, after a good few months, what the jester had come to do in your own home. In fact, it perplexed you so much that when you asked him, the feeling seemed to be shared. It was⊠intriguing to say the least, but heâd only smile before clasping his hands together and saying in a song-esque tune.
âBecuase youâre sooooooooooo interesting, darlin! Just look at you, how could I NOT come here with you?â
Truth to be told, he saw you as who you really were, in some sense he saw you as someone who didnt fall for lies easily, he saw you as someone who saw beyond that and you were⊠interesting. You were a shot in the dark, and he just had, to have you near.
âYouâre so silly, darlin, sososososo sillyâ Heâd add in, patting your head softly as you only smiled and blushed slightly, even while knowing his smile and gaze hid a million of thoughts, and a million of even more ideas.
If youâre wondering what heâd do in your world, thenâŠ
When not reading around in your home, or following you to the library to read some books, heâd be looking over your shoulder, reading every single note, watching every single thing you do, it makes him curious, how someone so quaint has him wrapped around your finger. And yet, he cant help but smile at the idea of being just like that, wrapped around your finger in a sweet loving embrace.
Heâd be the most romantic of the bunch, the one that makes it the most prominent that heâs there with you because he likes you, he dosent even hide it fully despite his jester-esque persona, he just cant hide it! So, when you ask him about what he was doing one day in the balcony of your apartment, heâd only turn and smile softly.
âWhy, I'm recreating one of your worldâs theatre plays!â Heâd say, and you make a mental note to go to the theatre more often⊠âAnd youâve come just in time, silly (y/n)! I need someone to play dearest Juliet!â
You add that it is a tragic love story, and he only brushes it off, adding in that âactors are actors, sweetheart, now come in and act!â so you do, and you have a fun time doing a monologue to a bunch of people who stay and watch, before claps fill the air.
And when time comes to bed, heâll be the first to curl up in your bed, curl like a cat who welcomes you into his arms so sweetly, you feel the scent of milk, lactonic as it is, and for once you feel safe.
Timekeeper Cookie
âWell, look what we have here!â
To find Timekeeper in your home means to have done something either right or wrong. In your case, its right.
Theyâre very much curious about everything from the things you do on a daily basis to your home and how electronics work.
Still, and much like some others in this list, they become quickly bored about it, choosing to focus on you as main form of entertainment
Still, you can expect certain shenanigans to ensue.
It was late at night when it happened, just as you were playing when a portal opened and dragged you inside of it. You were scared shitless that much is true but, when you saw the person who dragged you in, you simply could sigh in slight annoyance.
âWhat? Cant I drag my favorite person in for some fun?â Theyâd say with that ever present smile, Timekeeper chuckling as she smiled widely at you, before noticing⊠âOh, right, it is night where youâre from, guess I took you out at the wrong time!â
You huffed and yawned, before sitting up and looking at your phone⊠Right, it didnt exactly work when in time rifts, but then again that raised the question, why did they bring you here to begin with? As if being presented with the question loud and clear, theyâd clear her throat and speak yet again.
âI simply wanted to see you, nothing wrong with that now?â Theyâd say quite mischievously, picking you up and bringing you into her lap âGo on, lets- Hm?â
Youâd fall asleep into her arms as soon as she picked you up, your calm quiet face being shown to her as you were held in her arms. Well, guess fun had to wait.
If youâre wondering what theyâd do in your world, thenâŠ
Much like the others, they also enjoy reading, however, they focus on reading about engineering and mechanics, more so about the mechanics of your world to see if theyâre any different from the ones of her world. To say there isnt much difference is but an understatement, there was a hefty amount of difference counting the technology from the TBD was far more advanced, but, even then, youâd be able to get the timekeeper intrigued by the nature of your world.
âTell me more about your world, câmon!â Theyâd ask one day, floating from a time rift as you cooked dinner.Â
Unlike the others Timekeeper wasnt keen on staying in one place, still finding comfort in being inside time rifts most of the time, though they still visited you more often than not, more often than other places. Seeing them youâd ask her what she wanted to know, to which sheâd hum before saying.
âAnything, I dont really find it entertaining seeing it myselfâExplain your world to me yourself, doll!â
So when night comes after a long day chatting, it is you who clings to her softly, as she watches you sleep cozily by her side. She smiles and pats your head, because as much as sheâd prefer to fade into a time rift, she knows she cant let you go so easily, no. Not when you finally showed her happiness.
âInteresting, this place is⊠quite interestingâŠâ
Seeing someone as tall as Millennial Tree in your home is but a piece of the whole puzzle. You are dumbfounded but in some sense, seeing them kneel to greet you is almost laughable.
Heâs big, very tall and a gentle giant overall, and it shows when he holds your hand and tells you that your world is interesting to him.
Heâs just as curious as everyone else, looking at everything, looking at everyone, heâs curious about you, curious about your world, yet he knows itâd be dangerous to leave on his own.
So, you take him to the forest, planing on leaving him go butâŠ
âI dont want to leave you aloneâŠâ
Heâd speak with conviction, looking at you as your eyes widened and your face dropped. Just what you feared would happen. Heâd hold your hands together, looking at you with some concern before smiling softly, kissing both of your palms.
âI came here for a reason, that much I know, and I know that reason is within you⊠Allow me to stay by your side, and Iâll do everything in my power to make it worth it.â
You have no power in you to say no, to turn down his offer after his gentle and sweet words, that day you realized that perhaps he did come to your world for a reason, a world so clad in evil and painâŠ
If youâre wondering what heâd do in your world, thenâŠ
When not travelling nor reading, heâs at home with you, cooking or revisiting each place he has gone to to help. Heâs become⊠a sort of Messiah, you cant help it, become public enemy no.1 to some, and a savior to others, it truly depended on who you were asking. Your gaze would follow his as he trailed on a book you both were reading before heâd lean and kiss your forehead, things were⊠easy, happy with him there⊠You felt much happier.
âIs something the matter, sapling?â Heâd ask, his gentleness carrying over to his voice as he hummed at your words saying it was nothing, but he knew better, still, he wouldnt push. âAre you perhaps tired?â
You pouted slightly before nodding, yes, you were quite tired, but you didnt want to admit to it. Still, heâd nod before moving the book to the side and lifting you into his arms. Heâd carry you to your shared bedroom, careful on his way there before setting you on the bed with him, cozily, softly, carrying you to him as he pressed his lips on your forehead and your body to his.
âSleep well, sunshineâ Heâd say, brushing hairs off your face before speaking again âThank you for accepting me into your worldâŠâ
Honestly, how could you not at this point? With that thought in your head⊠You fell asleep.

crawling back, slightly ashamed, slightly desperate... if u could spare any sort of vi taking care of u after work... i know I was just very freaky and rough, but gentle.. gentle đđđđ ON MY KNEES PLEEEASE I BEG (no rush, duh, but I jus... have back pain and need some vi idc how HEHAHA)
babes, i feel you so hard on this because my back also hurts, and i hate this time of the month for real. but i gotchu, honey, and here are my thoughts. đ©
vi adores looking after you when you come home. she's always counting down the minutes from when you send her the message that you're heading home. once she receives that message, vi instantly on the move to make your homecoming as perfect as possible.
the thing isâyou two have been dating for a while now. a few years of a romance that never stops being whirlwind, even when it simmers into that comforting flame old lovers carry. with years under the belt, some might think that the effort doesn't need to need to continue. that it shouldn't be a pressure to uphold because you know each other, what more is left to discover? what more is left to impress?
vi would rather eat her own fist than allow that to happen. she'd rather kick herself than allow herself to slip up in any way when it comes to you. because you are the very air she breathes, the very reason for her existence, and nothing can ever make her feel differently. so she'll treasure you like the gem you are, ensure you're well-cared for and attended to with the utmost respect.
sometimes, she believes that is why she's hereâto cater to you.
so regardless of the years, vi still treats your homecoming with the grandeur it deserves. she's already started dinner an hour ago, has laid your lounge wear (pajama shorts and always one of her shirts) on the bed, and has gotten a bath running five minutes before you're at the door.
when she hears the keys jingle in the lock, vi is instantly at the door with open arms.
then the best part comesâseeing your face.
you look exhausted, eyes heavy with tiredness and mouth downturned by a frown. you seem annoyed today, maybe something happened at work. you'll eventually tell her, you always do. but the second you see her, all of that melts away like the winter's chill driven away by the sun's warmth.
your downturned mouth is flipped upside down; you're smiling, soft yet brilliant, and you fall into her arms with a grateful sigh. vi is prepared, forever ready to catch you, and holds you close with solid arms tight around your waist.
"hey, princess," she murmurs, pressing sweet kisses into your head. you react beautifully, leaning up into them like an eager cat depraved of affection. "rough day today?"
you let out a tiny grunt, nuzzling deep into her neck, before you say softly, "yeah, but i'm home with you now. that's all i care about."
vi's heart instantly turns thunderous in her chest, her love for you too overwhelming. she may just squeeze you until you squeak because it's so hard to control herself around you. but she does, barely, and pulls you back a little so she can look at your lovely face.
you're still smiling, so adoringly too, and vi might very well melt into a puddle.
"i've got dinner simmering on the stove," she says, gently taking off your coat. you allow her, going limp as she tenderly manhandles you. "and a nice bath waiting for you, so go jump in and relax."
you nod happily, eyes fluttering half-closed, as you reach for her hand. you entwine your fingers, walking around vi so you can pull her towards the bathroom.
"join me?" you ask sweetly, hopeful, and vi wonders how you'd ever think she'd say no.
"of course, sweetheart."

I stare at the house you were brought up in All the photographs and door frames are wooden I wish I'd known you when you were younger Before lovers
To say you were nervous would be the understatement of the century. Anxiety holds you tightly in her grasp and floods your mind with the dreadful thoughts that you had been trying so hard to keep away. What if they didn't like you? What if they didn't think you were good enough? What if they noticed how different you were from them? What if they thought you didn't fit into the perfect life they had created for themselves? Your thoughts were running wild and dragging your bruised heart around with them.
"You okay?" Quinn's voice soft and gentle as he slips his hand into yours.
"Yeah, of course." You give him a tight-lipped smile, hoping he won't be able to sense the internal chaos you are experiencing. He does, though. Even if he doesn't say it, you know he does because Quinn notices everything with you.
"Let's head in." He speaks, pressing a light kiss to your temple. "Can put our stuff away in the room then head out into the backyard. Everyone is already here."
"Okay." You nod, voice barely above a whisper.
As he leads you through the beautiful home he was raised in, you look around in awe at the memories held in pretty wooden picture frames hanging on the walls and sitting on tables. You can tell it was a house full of love and happiness. While it's always warmed your heart to know that the amazing man you had the luck of calling yours was the result of such a wonderful upbringing, you can't ignore the painful twinge you feel deep down.
Stepping into Quinn's childhood room, your eyes are immediately drawn to a picture, sitting on his dresser next to the door, of younger Quinn with his family sitting happily on the couch together next to a Christmas tree. The trio stand in the driveway, wearing rollerblades and holding hockey sticks, big smiles plastered on their faces. It brings a smile to your own face.
"How old were you here?" You ask Quinn as you feel him move to stand behind you after putting your bags down.
"Fourteen, maybe." He replies, wrapping his arms around your waist and resting his chin on your shoulder as you both examine the photo.
"You were so cute." You speak softly, a longing feeling pulling at your heartstrings. You wished you could've known younger Quinn. When things were simple and life wasn't so complicated.
"I was? Am I not cute now?" He asks in mock offense.
"You know what I mean." You roll your eyes playfully and nudge him softly with your elbow, drawing a laugh from him.
"Come on. Let's go meet everyone." He pulls away. You instantly mourn the loss of his warmth but settle with the feeling of his fingers intertwining with yours as he pulls you out of the room.
And I bet you grew up eating at the table Fed love from silver spoons, reasons to be grateful
You feel overwhelmed the moment you step out into the backyard. Quinn's parents and brothers are already seated at the dinner table that was set up, talking and laughing. You do your best to swallow down the panic that's trying to force its way up your throat as Quinn pulls you in their direction. You're only given about thirty seconds to calm yourself before you're standing in front of them.
"Quinn!" Ellen exclaims, standing up pulling her oldest son into a warm embrace. "I'm so glad you both made it safely."
"Hey," He returns her hug before stepping back and placing a comforting hand on the small of your back. "This is Y/N. Y/N, this is my mom, Ellen, my dad, Jim, and my brothers, Luke and Jack."
"Hi, it's nice to meet you." You wave shyly, giving them the best smile you could muster amidst your inner turmoil.
"It's so nice to finally met you, too." Ellen steps closer before pulling you into a hug. You hesitate briefly before returning the unexpected affection. When she steps back and returns to her seat, Quinn leads you to the two chairs left empty for you both to sit.
"Quinn has told us so much about you. All good things, of course. It's nice to finally put a name to the face." Jim speaks once you're settled at the table.
"You as well." You blush. "I won't lie and say that haven't been nervous about this trip, but I've been wanting to meet the people who raised him to be the amazing person that he is."
"Oh, please." Ellen laughs, shaking her head. "You're making me blush. And there is absolutely nothing to be nervous about. We are so happy that you are here."
"How did Quinn manage to bag you?" Jack scoffs, a playful spark in his eyes. "I mean, just look at him. You could've done so much better."
"Like who?" Quinn glares at his brother. "You?"
"You said it, not me." Jack raises his hands in mock defense.
"Excuse my meathead of a brother. We're not all like that." Luke jokes. "It's nice to meet you, Y/N."
"You, too."
Shortly after initial greeting, food starts being passed around as everyone starts asking you questions about yourself. What do you do for a living? How did you meet Quinn? How is life in Vancouver? Where did you grow up? The questions seem endless, but you answer them with kindness and grace, mentally patting yourself on the back for managing to keep composure under the pressure you were feeling. As the dinner goes on, the tension in you eases, and you're able to genuinely laugh and smile. It's clear in how comfortable everyone is that this is just another evening dinner for them. Something that they've obviously spent years doing.
I spilt the good wine, I panicked A disaster, a knee-jerk reaction Then everyone around us starts laughing Is that how it's supposed to happen?
"Hey, Y/N?" Luke calls from across the table. "Could you pass me the bread basket?"
"Of course." You smile, picking it up to simply hand it to him. If only life was that easy for you. You watch in horror as the wine bottle in the middle of the table topples over, spilling the dark red liquid onto the white tablecloth. "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry!" You jump up from your seat, grabbing napkins and throwing them over the mess. Tears threaten to spill as embarrassment floods through you.
"Baby, it's okay." Quinn stands to help you.
"Let me go grab some more napkins." Ellen rises from her hand and heads into the house. Once the mess is cleaned everyone settles back in at the table.
"I'm really sorry." You apologize again.
"It's no big deal." Jim shrugs it off with a chuckle.
"Are you sure? I can pay you back. That looked really expensive."
"It's okay, Y/N. Really." Ellen shakes her head.
A warm hand slide across your thigh, squeezing gently and settling your bouncing leg that you hadn't even realized was moving in the throes of your anxiety. He leans over and presses a comforting peck against to the side of your head.
"Definitely not the worst thing to happen at the dinner table." Luke laughs. "One time, Jack and Quinn got into and spilt a whole pot of soup. It got everywhere."
"I completely forgot about that." Jack gasps, laughing at the memory that has resurfaced. And like that, the wine incident is forgotten and everyone moves on.
We're the product of love that we do not receive I'll corrupt every branch of this family tree --- Silver spoons and butter knives Living hand to mouth, I'm getting by Just feed me love and give it time Oh, maybe in another life
After dinner, you and Quinn make your way up to his room to turn in for the night. As you move through the motions of getting dressed into your sleepwear, a pair of sleep shorts and one of Quinn's shirts, your mind has taken you elsewhere. Everything has been going well, but you can't help but feel a sense of sadness. And a little bit of guilt. Sadness at the fact that you are clearly an outsider in the perfect family that Quinn belongs to. Happiness and love seem to come so easy for them, but your life has been so different, and it shows.
You grew up in a home where love was conditional. It wasn't given unless you gave something in return that benefited the other person. Your parents weren't the type to ask you how your day was. They didn't show up to support you at school events or hold you when you were feeling down. When you made little mistakes here and there, you were treated as if you committed the crime of the century. Yelling and cursing were a common occurrence. Show of emotions and shed tears were met with eye rolls and ridicule. You spent your life walking on eggshells around the people who were supposed to love you. You learned to only depend on yourself, trust no one, and expect absolutely nothing from everyone. Until Quinn, and that's where the guilt comes in. Guilt for wishing you'd had better parents than the ones you had. Guilt for wishing your life had been different. Guilt for being ungrateful when your life could have been worse. Guilt for being imperfect in the presence of those who seemed to have it all. It was eating away at you and you didn't know how to make it stop.
"Babe?" Quinn calls, voice quiet and cautious as he approaches you.
"Hmmm?"
"Where did you go?" He strokes your cheek softly and carefully with the back of his fingers.
"Sorry. It's nothing." You shake your head, crawling into your side of the bed and laying down.
"Talk to me." He lays down beside you, turning to face you. "Somethings wrong. You forget how good I've gotten at reading you."
"Nothing's wrong, but that's the problem." You sigh, caving in. Knowing that you can't hide anything from him.
"I'm confused."
"Tonight's been absolutely amazing. Your family is amazing and perfect. You are amazing and perfect."
"But?"
"But I feel like I don't belong here. I feel like we come from too different worlds. This life you live, and the relationship you have with your family is completely for to me." You release a shaky breath as the tears you held in all night slowly start to cascade down your cheeks. "And I'm scared that I'll just end up corrupting it somehow. You are the most amazing thing to ever happen to me, and I don't want to fuck this up, but it feels like it's inevitable. Bound to happen eventually."
"You could never fuck this up." He lifts a hand to softly brush away your tears. "You've told me that your home life was never the greatest, but don't do this. Don't compare yours to mine and make yourself feel like you've done something wrong. You haven't done anything wrong. What happened has clearly hurt you in ways that I could never understand, but don't let it define you. You might not see it, but to me, you are perfect just the way you are."
"I just want to be good enough for you."
"You are good enough for me. More than enough. I wish you could see that." He sighs, leaning forward and kissing you softly. "I making a promise to you that I will spend every day showing you that and proving it to you until you start to see it for yourself. I know it will take time, but that's fine with me. Because this. Us. Is end game. You are end game for me."
"You are too patient with me."
"And you aren't patient enough with yourself. It's okay though because I have enough patience for the both of us."
"I don't deserve you."
"It's the other way around, sweet girl." He pecks your nose. "I love you."
"I love you, too." You curl into him, pressing as close to him as you can.
"Now sleep." He wraps his arms tightly around you. "I'm pretty sure my mom has put together a whole itinerary of things for us to do tomorrow so you'll need the rest." He chuckles.
"Goodnight, Quinny." You murmur, sleep ready to whisk you away.
"Goodnight, my love."

Roses are Red
đđMidnight's DCA Valentine's Day 2đđ
I was feeling, something, when I wrote this, and by that i mean lots of flirting and such ajsldkfjklsjdf
Prompt: Gardeners Sun and Moon preparing a special bunch of roses for their dear Y/N and hiding an engagement ring in a single special rose. Y/N happily saying yes and giving the boys a smooch!
Word Count: 2403
Read here if you prefer ao3!
đđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđđ
You stand by the kitchen door, hand on your hip and brow raised.Â
"This again?" You ask the moon-themed bot in front of you, as he leans one elbow on the counter. Awkwardly, mind you, with his height.Â
He shrugs, despite very clearly blocking the door to outside. "I'm afraid I don't follow, Sweet."
You cross your arms, nodding to behind him. "Okay, then may I get past you to go outside?"
"Why bother?" He tsks. "Dreadful weather today, wouldn't you rather stay inside?"
You wrinkle your nose. "No. I think it's a lovely morning actually, based on how sunny it is, and the nice breeze coming in through the window. I'd like to read my book on the swing."Â
You'd gotten up extra early for exactly this reason. You were hoping if you woke up just a bit sooner, you could sneak out and enjoy the garden as you'd so been hoping to. It was a bit frustrating that you had to put it that way. 'Sneaking out' of your own home. But that's what it had come to at this point.Â
Loved them as you did, but your gardeners had been exceedingly... difficult over the course of the last month or so. Despite the spring months finally being upon you, the prime time to truly enjoy the garden and appreciate their hard work, you'd been banned from the space entirely.Â
Keep in mind, they were always bashful when it came to their work, and would sometimes not let you see their handiwork in the early days of spring since it wasn't 'complete' until all the flowers bloomed. This was different however, as you hadn't been barred from seeing the castle gardens just mere yards from your residence, nor the plants being tended to in the greenhouse.
No, it was specifically what they were working on in your gardenâthe walls far too high for you to peek over, unfortunatelyâwhere the source of your woes lied. Apparently. They were being incredibly secretive about the whole affair, going so far as to deny outright that you were banned from your own space.
Or in this case, making excuses.Â
"Ah, but the weather could change at any time. Surely you'd rather not take the risk and spend your time doing something else?"
You lean back on the kitchen counter. "Like?"
"Reading your book inside, of course." Moon nods, straightening and walking over to you. "Even better, you can read it to me, out on the parlor couch, perhaps. I could hold you, or better yet, you could hold me. I've a terrible crink in my neck that only resting in your lap can resolve I fear. What do you say?"
You tilt your chin up as he now stands in front of you, towering over you even when he sets his hands on the counter on either side of you. Not so subtly blocking you in.Â
You hum. "Don't you have work to do?"
"Sun can handle himself for a bit, and really I think I've more than earned a morning's rest." He leans down so your faces are only a few inches apart. "You wouldn't deny your poor Beloved a break, Star. Right?"
You huff, though the temptation to take him up on his offerâand moreâwas at an all time high. "Beloved is a bit of a stretch at the moment."
"Is it nowâ" Just as the gap was about to close between you, Moon is gone. He makes a strangled noise of surprise as he's yanked back by a half-gloved yellow hand.
Sun releases him after a moment, cheery as can be. "More than earned a morning's rest, hm? Last I recall you didn't spend six hours potting pansies without a break, did you?"
Moon grumbles, but doesn't retaliate further than that.Â
Before you can say anything, Sun turns to you, seeming to know what you were going to say. "The garden is off limits for the time being, Sunbeam. I might suggest the castle grounds for a good location instead. Once we've finished up here this morning I'd be happy to join you. I'll even bring lunch if you'd like." He finally finishes putting on his glove, adjusting his work apron.Â
"And just where do I fit into that scenario?" His counterpart asks, searching around for his own outerwear.
Sun's grin widens further, eyes upturned crescents. "Why, you'll be busy trimming the hedges that you've been putting off all week, of course."
"That all sounds lovely, though I do feel bad for Moon." You step closer to the sunny animatronic, arms coming up to wrap around his neck. "But I do have to press you on the reason for why I can't access part of my own home. Which you live in, mind you."
He sadly doesn't buy into your scheme, hand cupping your cheek as his rays click. "You'll find out soon enough. No need to go spoiling the surprise at this time. Go enjoy your morning, Love." He presses a kiss to your forehead and you scoff lightly, despite the heat rising to your cheeks.Â
"Fine. But no more putting mud on the windows, while I'm gone. Makes me feel like I'm living in a cave." You hadn't expected them to go to such lengths, though knowing them you weren't surprised either.Â
"No promises~"
Later on in the day you do in fact, enjoy a picnic with Sun, Moon nearby as he begrudgingly trims hedges. Though, another week goes by, and you still can't enter the garden. Not to mention, the flirty banter you typically so easily exchange has dropped to practically nothing.Â
Your advances are avoided, to the point you can hardly even get a goodnight or good morning kiss. Which, given that you were used to being overwhelmed with affection, being underwhelmed is, incredibly deflating. So, you decide to change your tactic.Â
You wait until one of them is alone, in this case Sun, to strike. While he may act very blunt and avoidant with Moon around, alone you think you can get him to slip up and finally tell you what they're up to.Â
You find him on a quiet rainy afternoon hard at work in the greenhouse. The rain pitter-patters softly against the glass far above, the space cast in a bit of shadow from the grey sky and plants that are all encompassing throughout.Â
He's at a workbench, tending to a group of sickly looking hydrangeas when you find him. He jumps a fraction when your arms wrap around him, head resting on his shoulder as you watch him work.Â
"Oh, hello, Starlight. What brings you here in these conditions?" Despite the evenness of his tone you can hear a tinge of anxiety underneath.Â
Your hands shift to slide across his arms, causing him to freeze at your touch. "Was curious about you. Wanted to make sure you were alright."
"Well, as you can see, I'm simply justâ" He hesitates as you turn to kiss one of his rays. "B-busy. Would hate for these hydrangeas to wither away because of a lack of care."
You chuckle, kissing him again. "I suppose so. What a pity." Just as he turns to face you, you pull back from him, moving to sit on the workbench instead.Â
"Something else you need, Sweetpea?" Sun chuckles nervously, you can see the smallest hint of steam arising from him.
You have to smother your smirk to keep your own composure. "Nope, just want to watch you work is all. Don't mind me."
"Ah, of course."
For several minutes there's nothing but muted clinking and such as Sun works, posture stiff as you keep your eyesâand handsâon him. Just simple little touches, traces patterns on his forearms or handing him things every so often. It only spurs you further as you notice your plan is working, the flustered avoidance you'd been experiencing is now just fluster, and you see your chance.Â
"You know. There is something else I'm thinking you could help with." You reach out and cup his chin. "If you're willing, that is."
You see his rays flutter just a tad. "That so?"Â
"Mhm. It'd be really easy for you to do too. And if you do, I might have something for you in return." You lean in, just hovering your lips above his smile.Â
He chuckles, eyes-lidded. "A trade then? I'm certainly not opposed."
"I was hoping you wouldn't be. Now, close your eyesâhey!" You're suddenly plucked off the bench and hauled over a shoulder by blue and white hands. Quickly marched away from a startled and utterly confused Sun, as you see when you glance back.Â
Moon sets you down by the door to the greenhouse, displeased grin on his features. "Dirty tricks like that belong in the garden, Moonflower."
"Well, I'm not allowed in the garden, so I had to resort to other locations." You huff, brushing off your clothes. "Was that really necessary?"
He bends to your level, eye to eye and inches apart. "It was."
"You're not on my kiss list now, I hope you know that."Â
Moon's hands cup your cheeks, faceplate spinning once. "What a shame then, that you're on mine."
He kisses you once, then steps back.Â
"Tomorrow, if the weather clears up, tomorrow you can go in the garden as you choose. I promise." His thumb rubs against your cheek, troubled look in his eyes before he shakes his head.Â
You keep your frown, despite the heat on your face, and nod. "Tomorrow, then."
You stomp out of the greenhouse and into the rain in the hopes of making it clear your resolve is temporary. In reality you think it just makes you cold, and wet.Â
But, the next morning the sun peeks through the clouds and after a brief and somewhat quiet breakfast, your gardeners finally relent.Â
While you're beaming with excitement, they both seem nervous as can be. You're so caught up in all the activities you wish to do that you're only half catching the anxious looks and fidgeted movements they share between each other.Â
Sun's hands are clasped in front of him as he speaks. "We're sorry it's taken so long, Love. We had several setbacksâ" He sends a glare to Moon, who shrugs. "But, we hope you like it."
"And if you don't, just keep it to yourself." Moon's hand rests on your shoulder with a snicker, though there's still that nervous hint to his tone.Â
You scoff at the two of them. "I always love what the two of you create. Regardless of whether it's for me or anyone else."Â
With a final sigh, Sun steps out of your way and you all but skip over to and out the door, the warm morning light hitting your skin like an embrace. The garden sparkles from the dew and the day prior's rain. All acrossâ
"Roses?" You ask, in awe at the sheer abundance of them.Â
Several varieties and colors cover the expanse of the garden, from the edges to the center. Every flower bed is filled to the brim with them. Yes, there's the typical flowers and bushes they plant as well, sprinkled in here and there. Primarily, however, are the roses.Â
You walk through the grass with a sense of curiosity at the scenery around you. It's breathtaking, but not the least bit suffocating. Brimming with life, but not crowded. It was, in a way, perfect.Â
Though, you don't understand why they tried so hard to hide this from you. Yes, it was stunning, but the secrecy you just couldn'tâ
As you turn around again, you see the two of them standing there, together, with a large bouquet in their hands. It consists of bright yellow and deep purpleânear blackâroses.Â
"These are for you, if you hadn't already guessed." Moon's gaze is elsewhere as he holds the flowers out with his counterpart.Â
Sun's rays are spinning quickly as you flick your gaze to him, he coughs and also looks away. "We, we hope it's to your taste. We got what we thought would suit you best."
You're too stunned to really think on the words. "Oh, these are, incredible." You say, gently taking the neatly wrapped bouquet from them. "For me, really? You didn't need toâ"
Inspecting the flowers closer, you realize that in the center of the cluster, there's something shimmering in the middle of a rose. This one is different from all the others. Its center is yellow, but the outer petals expand out into that deep violet, with speckles of contrast all throughout. Lying in the very center however, is a ring.Â
It clicks then for you.Â
"This needed to be special, to show how much you mean to us, hence all the preparation." Sun states.Â
Moon continues. "An ordinary flower wouldn't do you justice, nor would an ordinary proposal. The garden served as the best place to refine both."
You nod slowly, feeling a little more than just choked up.Â
"Is, are you, will youâ" Sun stops himself.Â
"Would you do these two humble fools the honor of having your hand?" Moon asks.Â
"Yes, that."
You nod again, quicker now, face on fire and tears pricking your eyes. "Yes, yes, absolutely yes!"
Before either can react you shift the bouquet so you can grab them both by their shirts, planting a kiss to each of their smiles several times.Â
Breathless, you pull back to hug them both. "I would have taken just a simple stroll by the lake, you didn't have to go through all this trouble just for me. But know I appreciate it more than anything. Thank you, I love you. So, so much."
Based on the clicks and whirls that emit from the two of them, and the bits of steam, you think they're as overwhelmed as you in that moment. Sun's lop-sided grin and Moon's half-lidded daze makes you chuckle.Â
"Duly noted." Sun states.Â
Moon nods. "Don't spend four years seeding, growing, and experimenting with roses next time. Understood."
"Four years?" Your brows shoot up. "But we met just roughly four years ago."
"We know. We started on this about a week in."
At this you shake your head, laughing outright. You give them another kiss, and revel in that moment.Â
It's going to be one you cherish for years to come.

Finally, some good fucking Clex content again. Superman: Lex Luthor Special opens with a reminder that normally, Lex is the smuggest man alive:
But some time ago, Lex allowed his memories to be completely erased in order to stop Brainiac. Since then, he's been doing fuck-all besides growing a beard and taking pleasant walks around Metropolis. It's probably the closest thing to a vacation he's had in decades, but unfortunately it's because he is in permanent No Thoughts, Head Empty mode. (Or is he?)
During one such walk in the park, someone recognizes him (should have put on some glasses too, Lex. Amateur!) and throws coffee in his face. Superman, probably not for the first time, keeps a righteously angry mob from turning Lex into paste.
Possibility 1: Clark has been avoiding Lex because he feels tremendously guilty about not being able to prevent Lex's brain from being scrambled, and also because seeing the Guy Formerly Known As Lex weirds him out.
Possibility 2: Clark has been avoiding Lex because there's a really good chance Lex will just spontaneously redevelop the ol' murder-crush on him if they make eye contact for too long, and he feels guilty about that.
Regardless, for plot science reasons, they need the old Lex back. Amnesia Lex is...not enthused. (That brown splotch across his face is supposed to be the coffee that was thrown at him several panels ago. Liquids, how do they work?)
HNNNG Clark immediately noticing a difference in how Lex talked about himself, and Lex countering by dropping the big, nuclear question: 'Do you actually want Lex Luthor back? Is the world better with me him in it?'
Clark flees the scene immediately rather than answer đ
Throughout the special, Lex has been flashing back to his horrible, abusive childhood in Smallville, guest starring not!John Glover:
I was very pleased to see them continuing the emotional beat of young Lex feeling desperately lonely and isolated from everyone else because of his mind. Birthright and The Last Days of Lex Luthor both used that to great effect to compare him with Clark, and it's a backstory I personally like.
Anyway, Lionel Luthor is terrible:
But Lex isn't ever as alone as he thinks:
In the present, a brooding Lex stares at the piano he was 'unable' to play earlier that morning:
And Superman gets a call from Mr. Terrific, who just received the Important Science Equation Thing he was hoping for from Supercorp. But Superman didn't send it...
[menacing lullaby of devotion intensifies]
Joshua Williamson loves us, Clex nation.

Pretending âoil and waterâ was just about Cait and Vi is very conveniently leaving out a huge chunk of the dialogue. âTopside and bottom, oil and water, thatâs all there is. I was stupid to think it could be any different.â That statement wasnât at all about personality clashes or different goals, because the two of them were very firmly on the same page there. It was about Vi thinking it would never work because topside and bottom could never work. That is simply the text.
You also seem willfully ignorant to what foreshadowing is. Obviously, the point of Jayce and Silcoâs conversation wasnât fighting the Noxians, but thereâs a deliberate reason they planted that idea there at that timeâalso, why do you think the show introduced Ambessa in the first season? How odd to add this new character in so late. Itâs almost as though she was being set up to be the big bad in season two or something.
Where did you think the show was going with the hex core? Did you think that was just some random bit of character development for Victor? Did you not catch on to Heimdingerâs apocalyptic predictions of doom?
If you want to say a common enemy is cheap, fine. But it was well set up that the show was going in that direction because of the decisions the characters made that took them to the point where the only way there could be peace was to defeat these common enemies they helped create.
In the quotes you used, they talk about an alien invasionâsomething completely external. Thatâs not what happened in Arcane. The danger from Noxus and Victor were the consequences of these characters and societies engaging in a cycle of violence. Ambessa would not have been able to take control if Jinx hadnât attacked the council and Piltover hadnât wanted vengeance. Victor would not have been driven to his actions if it were not for his despair at the state of humanity.
The show is called Arcane. It was always going to be about magic. Again, itâs a pretty typical story structure to start grounded and then get more grandiose throughout. You also have to take into account that they were working from source material, so, yeah, Ekkoâs time looping ability was going to show up. Victor was going to become the machine herald. The show is based on a video game and youâre somehow surprised the climax was a big battle.
That said, no, itâs not like Age of Ultron, because the battle wasnât just cool fighting and slow motion group shots. It was Vi and Jinx teaming upâimportant character moments; Jayce getting through to Victor and their love for each other, platonic or otherwise, saving the day; and the face off between Ambessa, Cait, and Melâconsequences of the choices Ambessa and Caitlyn made. They also took time to show us the regular people who ended up suffering for the mistakes of our characters.
Finally, a show shouldnât have to explicitly spell out things for an educated audience to understand it. Maybe you would have preferred an epilogue with a montage of what exactly was done other than giving Sevika a seat on the council. Personally, I would find that obnoxious and unnecessary. I prefer it to be unsettled and unresolved because, as crazy as that sounds in this science fiction show, that is more realistic.
As Iâve said elsewhere, the plot of Arcane wasnât Piltover versus Zaun. The class conflict was a background conflict that informed the characters and the decisions they made. The show was about how the characters become who they are and overcome the cycles that created them. The Piltover/Zaun conflict, and indeed the Noxian conflict and the Arcane conflict exist to serve the development of the characters, not the other way around.
âWhat happened to rebel Vi? Season 2 destroyed her character!â
âWhat happened to rebel Viâ is that Vander took her to the bridge where her parents died in his revolution and asked her what she was willing to lose. Then she meets Cait who is gentle and kind while still being tough and it makes her rethink how she sees topside. When Jinx tells her she changed too, thatâs what sheâs talking about.
Iâm sorry if you thought Vi was going to be a topside-hating revolutionary in Season 2, but thatâs clearly not where her character arc was going. Remember how she forced her way between Ekko and Cait? It seemed very straightforward that was the role her character was taking on.
I feel similar about people who act like the show was betraying its premise because it ended with reconciliation/Zaun and Piltover working together. Again, the fact that two of the most important relationships were between characters from both sides and that they made a point of talking about Zaun and Piltover first coming together against a common enemy was a pretty clear indicator that was the plan.
Now, I get being annoyed that that was what they chose to do. You donât have to love the creative decisions of media, just like media doesnât have to compromise its creative direction to satisfy you. But not liking that they went that direction is not the same as the show having bad writing or engaging in character assassination.
Everything Vi did in season 2 was very much in character with how she changed and who she became throughout Season 1. Hell, she used enforcers and Hextech to raid Shimmer facilities before Commander Kiramman ever threw on a beret. So, yes, actually wearing the uniform was a huge and complicated decision that she was definitely not happy about, but it also fell in line with what she had been doing.
Thereâs meat for another post at some point about the three different Zaun/enforcer partnerships we see in the show: Vander/Greyson, Silco/Marcus, and Cait/Vi; but Iâm not going to go into that now.
TLDR: âRebel Viâ who wants to fight all of topside hasnât existed since the end of the second episode of the show.
Editing to add that Vi doesnât see attacking Chem Barons as attacking Zaun; sheâs taking down the people who are destroying Zaun.

Transcript below the cut:
Iris: That was so good. Iâm going to be thinking about that dinner for weeks. Ezra: How have you lived here your whole life and never been to Elliotâs? Iris: Eh, there are certain places Iâve always avoided because itâs where all the tourists go.
Ezra: Do a lot of tourists come to the Bay? Iris: Oh yeah, youâd be surprised. People love a charming little coastal town. Ezra: That makes sense. I mean, thatâs why I moved here.
Iris: Why did you move? Ezra: Uh [heavy exhale] I needed a fresh start. Iris: Because of your divorce? Ezra: Yeah, pretty much.
Iris: What happened? Ezra: We just⊠[shrugs] grew apart. Iris: Thatâs a very vague and clichĂ© answer. Whatâs the real answer? Ezra: [chuckles] Okay, um, the real answer is⊠religion. Iris: Oh.
Ezra: When we got married, we believed in the same things. But then, I lost someone close to me, and I began to question everything⊠everything Iâd been taught my whole life to be true⊠and the more I questioned, the more it all felt like bullshit. For a long time, we didnât talk about it. I still played the part, and I continued going to church with her to save her the discomfort of people asking after me, and I think that made it easier for us to ignore. But when we started talking about having children, we couldnât agree on how to raise them, what to teach them, and we realized that it was never going to work. We still loved each other, but weâd become fundamentally different. And it was⊠sad.
Iris: So, you really did grow apart. Ezra: Some things are cliché for a reason. Iris: Are you still in touch? Like, did you stay friends? Ezra: No. There are no hard feelings, but we agreed a clean break was for the best.
Iris: Youâre lucky you figured all this out before having children. A lot of people donât. Ezra: Very true. Iris: Is that still something you want? Kids? Ezra: I think so, yeah.
Ezra: What about you? Iris: What about me? Ezra: Marriage? Kids? Religious affiliations? Iris: Oof. Pretty heavy topics for a first date, donât you think?
Ezra: You brought it up. And besides, if you count coffee, this is technically our third date. Iris: Hm. Do you always wait until the third date to kiss someone? Or are you just not that into me? Ezra: Oh, Iâm into you. Iâm just waiting for the right time.
Iris: Well, if you ask me, now feels pretty good. Ezra: It does, but⊠Iris: But?
Ezra: It kinda feels like youâre trying to distract me. Iris: I donât know what you mean.
Ezra: Then answer the questions. Iris: [sighs] Fine. No, Iâve never been married. Yes, I- I want kids. And no, religion is not my thing.
Ezra: That wasnât so hard, was it?
Iris: No more talking.

So itâs obvious that the girls had lives and families before the Cadou, so it got me wondering. What if the girls had a biological older or younger sibling that comes to work in the castle? It would probably feel weird to the girls to see what is basically a clone of you, that remembers a different version of you but you canât remember them.
Tbh I love to occasionally think of setting Elena up as this (due to her obvious resemblance to Cassandra due to their models)đ thatâs a very interesting thought, hon!đ this oneâs got a bit angstyđ
This oneâs a little off my usual HCs for them since I HC that all 3 take a good 80 years tops to get to the point where they are in the game. Maturity and growth wise XD
Masterlists
Bela
Contrary to popular belief, not all are forced into the castle, forced to work there, to cook and clean and serve
Many come for the safety it can provide, the three meals a day, the roof above oneâs head, the protection against Lycans
You, have come for a different reason
Bela Dimitrescu
The eldest of Alcina Dimitrescu, countess of Castle Dimitrescu, the head of the house
Her eldest. Her successor. Her heiress. One of three daughters, sisters
But also, your sister
She carries a different name now, looks a little different, acts different. But itâs her, undeniably so
You begin by working at the castle, and you work hard
Hard, quickly, every day. More and more. No task is too hard for you, no goal unreachable, for you have a single goal in mind;
To get to Bela
You know, you need to see her
You need to see your sister
You didnât think you would again, that she would be lost forever after being taken by Mother Miranda
To see her in the distance, dragging something back to the castleâŠalive
Different, but alive
You need to know if your sister is still there
And so, as you continue to work hard and pick up more and more tasks, you eventually work your way up in the castle
Past ordinary tasks, ranking above the average maid
Until, at last, youâre assigned to clean and organize Belaâs spaces when she wants for it
Youâre incredibly nervous on the first day, well aware that you will see her up close for the first time
While youâve seen Cassandra around plenty times and managed to dodge her and had Daniela throw herself at you a few times, Bela has been distant, far too busy to spare the staff a glance or even interact with it
And when you are summoned to her office and finally see her, you feel like your heart is stopping
Her eyes are different, she sports a tattoo on her forehead. Her clothing is much richer and darker and while she barely wore make up in the village, she wears some now
But, beyond all this, sheâs your sister still
Of course, she notices your racing heart
But, unlike her sisters, her reaction is different
She doesnât grin, doesnât approach you with a predatory smile and shine to her eyes as Cassandra would
She doesnât move towards you with a sultry smile and seductive eyes as Daniela likes to do
Instead, she rolls her eyes subtly, as though a little annoyed
You immediately straighten up. Youâre not sure how much sheâs changed, but you know well enough to not anger her. Especially on your first day. Youâve heard rumors she is particularly unforgiving as it comes to a lack of competence
This, though, has you smile a little
This, at least, is a little like your sister, even if she was far, far more soft spoken in the village, unable to speak out as she can now due to the harsh, outdated hierarchy
Still, you remember her subtly rolling her eyes and glancing to you whenever something or someone annoyed her
Sensing your shift in behavior, she at last turns again, her hand raising, her gloved fingers gesturing to the room
As she talks, you canât help but feel your heart ache. Her voice, though far more confident, is still the same
Your sisterâŠ
So close, yet so far
You so desperately want to reach out, to wrap your arms around her
Youâre certain it wouldnât be a very good idea judged by the dried blood around her lips
And still, you force yourself to stay quiet, to stay professional, to avoid staring at your long-lost sister overly long
As she works, you notice she checks in on you occasionally, critical as always, checking if youâre doing your work correctly
You canât help a small smile
Even after all those years, you know how she likes to organize things. You know what ticks her off, what makes her smile, satisfied
You perform every task she gives you far better than all others, and she quickly decides sheâs pleased with you. Pleased enough to have you work for her more and more
Every day, you see her
No. Every day, you see a shadow of who she was
Sheâs not quite your sister, and youâre not quite part of her family
Sheâs none the wiser, and you donât dare tell her
You notice, though, sheâs growing suspicious
Sometimes, you catch her staring, unashamed when she continues looking at you even when you turn to her
Like sheâs trying to figure something out
Like sheâa trying to figure out why you look so similar and familiar to her, but she has no recollection of you at all
At first, she thinks; could you be related to a former lover?
ButâŠno, it doesnât seem right
She canât even begin to think she might be your sister
And you..you arenât sure telling her is the best course of action
You canât help but worry, fearing she might take you for a fool if you told her the truth
You know, in her eyes, she has a family
A new family
A stronger family
Not youâŠ
Sheâs happy, you canât help but notice. Or seems it, at least. Sheâs safe. And while she is occasionally heard complaining about âher sistersâ, it isnât hard to tell she loves them dearly nonetheless
Unsurprisingly, this stings
ButâŠyou canât help but wonder whether itâs for the best
Youâre about to tell her, once. About to spill your heart out and tell her everything. About to plead with her to come home
HomeâŠ
To the village, where it isnât safe
A village, whose inhabitants have come to hate who your sister has turned into
How can you possibly ask her to do that? How could she possibly accept that?
You tell yourself, you wonât bother her. That after sheâs looked after you all her life, you will look after her and grant her this life, now
ButâŠyou canât bring yourself to stay away
You work eagerly, show up on time, every single day
You never fail to complete a task to her upmost satisfaction, and work for as long as you can, desperate to be with her and see her
You too notice yourself grow clingier, while she grows more and more curious
You seem so familiar, at ease. She canât understand you, canât figure you out at all
She wants to
She suspects, you must be keeping something from her
And when one day she confronts you, you almost forget who she is, now. That she no longer is the meek villager, the woman trying hard to protect you even if it meant being punished for it
The woman who would never resort to violence
You refuse to tell her whatâs going on, originally, mistaking your relationship with Bela for one far more familiar than it is, now
You find yourself pressed against the window with a sickle to your throat, the not-so subtle threat of falling or being sliced imminent
You panic, suddenly struck with the realization again that despite her looks and certain similarities, this is not quite your sister
And you certainly are not family to her in her eyes
Terrified, youâre forced to realize; she will kill you, should you not speak up
And when you do, sobbing that sheâs your sister, itâs like time stands still
She doesnât believe it, at first
And for a moment, youâre certain she will kill you
But, the killing blow doesnât come, and youâre left alone in her study instead
In the next couple of days, you donât see her at all
You canât even catch as much as a glimpse of her, really
Unbeknownst to you, your words have caused a small panic within her
She spends the majority of her days with Alcina, asking questions here and there, curious whether you could be telling the truth
Sheâs never quite cared for her former life
Of course, Alcina has once told her that she did exist as someone else before she was reborn
But, with her wonderful family surrounding her, she never found it within her to care
Now, she feels almost like sheâs forced to
She panics easily at the thought of you, pacing as thoughts swirl about in her head
Often, it takes Alcina to calm her
It takes days for Bela to sort out her thoughts, to come to a point where sheâs at least capable of making a choice
A choice, that comes a little easier to her than she likes to admit
The next day, you find your belongings packed and a carriage awaiting you, along with a handsome amount of gold
Some of the maidens congratulate you, others glance at you filthily, their jealousy clear as day
You feel only dread, only hurt
Itâs clear to you in an instant; this is her doing
As much as she feels this odd feeling of familiarity with you, Bela canât- no, does not want to- turn her back on her new family
Sheâs a Dimitrescu, and, to her, her family is Alcina, Cassandra and Daniela
She feels no sense of love towards you, no sense of affection she so dearly holds for her younger sisters
But, she does not want to see you hurt
She sends you off, away from the castle
You canât be a part of her life. She makes this much clear
But, she sees to it that youâre cared for, financially, at least enough to afford a safe home
She canât bring herself to do more than that
Sheâs a Dimitrescu, now, proudly so
And you are not
Cassandra
Cassandra Dimitrescu
A terror from the castle
A monster to many villagers. A devil, some even call her. A sadist, certainly. A predator, yes
Your sister
Can I be?
Could it really be her?
You remember her well, remember her strong face and stubbornness, her fierce protectiveness over you, which often led to her getting hurt
She never complained, never stopped protecting you
Sheâd always shield you from the dangers in the village
Gone, now
Given to Mother Miranda long ago
You remember she fought
You remember being unable to help her, staring into her brown eyes, wide and angry, as she was dragged away
The next time you look into her eyes, theyâre golden, but unmistakably hers, still
Itâs during a raid of the village, when you find yourself panting on the floor, watching a mysterious brunette rip apart the villager in front of you
Cassandra Dimitrescu
Then, when she turned, your sisterâŠ
Her face, her voiceâŠbutâŠnot quite her
The woman in front of you is bloodied, and bloodthirsty. She holds your sisterâs anger still, shows it openly, but itâs directed at everyone, and it feels like any wrong move could have it direct towards you, too
You arenât sure why your instincts-unlike your wish- tell you not to run into her arms. But looking back, youâre certain it saved your life
Rooted in place, you can only stare and shiver, shake helplessly as the woman youâre so sure could be your sister tears apart the villager in front of you
By some miracle you arenât next, left on the ground as she laughs and turns into what looks like a swarm of flies
Maybe, you should have dropped things
Maybe, you should have accepted your sisterâs death
Maybe, you shouldnât have gone chasing Cassandra
But, you do
You set out to work at the castle despite the rumors surrounding it
You know, after all, that is when you will find her
And, sure enough, you find out plenty
You find out, sheâs the middle child, sister to Bela and Daniela Dimitrescu
A different family
A different woman?
ButâŠyou canât help but see her, even as youâre confronted with the scary stories the staff likes telling about her in the dark
Maybe, you should have dropped it indeed
Finding Cassandra proves to be an easy task. Avoiding her sickle, a more difficult one
Sheâs loud, as your sister used to be, unfiltered
You remember, back then, this used to be a problem
You canât help but notice, she seems happier, now
More confident
Free
Unburdened
Excited
Selfishly, perhaps, you canât help but hope she isnât loved. That maybe, she will come back to you
Youâd hide her, make sure no resentful villager can find and hurt her. Or, by now, be hurt by her
Perhaps, this should be alarming
Still, you so desperately want to get your sister back
You try working your way up in the castle, try to work in areas you heard she regularly visits
The armory, she cellars, the wing containing her chambers
But, soon you realise; working hard has Bela Dimitrescu turn to you, not Cassandra
Bela, who seems to value order and your hard work
Daniela, who makes it a point to fluster you and all other staff members she comes across. So far, you have been lucky. You find; sticking to a group is important with the redhead, lest her seemingly random mood changes are directed at you
You begin to pull back a little, to take more risks, hoping it might catch Cassandraâs eye
Then, one day, it happens naturally
Youâre caught up in a fight, screaming and scratching at the woman attacking you
You arenât sure how it happened, how the maidenâs hurtful remarks could turn into a full blown fight
Nails scrape against skin, dig against it, hair is pulled
An unnecessary fight, foolish, in an already dangerous workplace
But, itâs enough to capture the sadistâs attention
You both flinch back when sheâs suddenly there, and you gasp when her sickle easily slices forth through the air
It catches both of you, still, forming a bleeding cut at your cheek and a deep slash at the maidenâs one
She immediately begs for mercy, falls to her knees and sobs. You stand frozen in place
This close to her, you canât help but look up again, your eyes finding her golden ones
GoldâŠnot brown.. but the same lazy eye, the same frustration held in them
Sheâd always get so annoyed and frustrated at useless sobbing, would always scold you when you cried and apologized when she was hurt because of you
You know, this is your sister, deep down
You canât bring yourself to look away. You want nothing more than to lunge forward, to wrap your arms around her and never let go
Youâve missed your sister so much. Now, sheâs so close, yet so far
You flinch when the bloodied sickle is raised to your throat next, flinch and shiver uncomfortably when her tongue drags against the bleeding cut at your cheek
You donât dare pull away, try to think about how embarrassed she will be once you tell her everything and she remembers you
The thought keeps you going despite your racing heart
And for a moment, she draws back, as if almost familiar with the scent and taste of the blood, as if it was far too similar to her own, far down beneath the scent and taste of her rotten one
For a second, you think she might understand, that she might suspect who you are
That she might remember
But, she doesnât, and only pulls away again, eying you suspiciously
Of course, the huntress notices your odd taste and scent, so utterly familiar and out of place at the same time
SheâsâŠcurious, she decides
And while she snatches the other maid and leaves you that day, youâre summoned to the armory the very next one
From then on, you are to work for her
A deadly position
You still feel her eyes on you, always. Youâre certain sheâs around even when you canât see her. Your sister always looked out for you. You hope, it can be like that again
As you work, you feel her around you, hear her flies buzzing while she stays in the shadows
She doesnât speak, doesnât come near you
Instead, she watches you, studies your mannerisms. Sometimes, she snarls, and you notice itâs usually triggered by you doing something your sister used to do
In the back of your mind, you wonder whether she still does those things, even as her life seems to be so different
In time, this stays the exact same
Itâs always tense with her. Often, youâre around when she drags a new victim with her
At other times, she slices at you, always taking a taste for herself as if tying to study your taste and blood. Her injuries- to you at least- are never lethal. You canât help but wonder, perhaps naively, that this is done on purpose. Youâre sure someone like Cassandra is capable of differentiating
Working for her, you learn more and more about her
With a heavy heart, you notice her anger is much more prominent, now
And while it was often her cut and beat at the village by stronger, bigger villagers, it is now her who cuts and beats, slices and bites, taunts and tortures for hours to no be
Prey, turned to a predator
How could you possibly bring her back home?
How could you possibly get her to stop consuming blood?
At times, you like to daydream, perhaps she can change. Perhaps, you can feed her. Perhaps, she can come live with you. Maybe it will work out
But, she is loved, here
Itâs not often you see a glimpse of this, but itâs there
Sheâs an older sister, here. A younger sister. A daughter. They are each othersâ everything
You grow more and more depressed with each day at the castle, less and less convinced that you can ever be with your sister again
Each passing day you notice how much she has changed, how she could never live at the village with you again
Each passing day you notice how bloodthirsty she is, how unique, now
And each passing day you grow less convinced to tell her the truth
Then, one day, itâs as though she has it figured out
You gasp when youâre awoken in the middle of the night. Sheâs in the staffâs quarters, the beds around you bloodied, all others now forced into an endless sleep, their heads turned, limbs broken, throats sliced
Clearly, she wants to be alone with you
The Realisation that murder comes so naturally to your sister now is horrifying. You know, there is no scenario in which she can return to how she used to be, no amount of love and talking from you. Cassandra is different, now
She claims, she knows who you are
You canât talk. Canât hug her as you want, knowing if you do the stench of blood and guts that clings to her will bleed into your scent, too
You canât speak, can only cry as she sits at your bed
You missed your sister so much
You never thought about how even now that sheâs here, she isnât quite your sister
Not anymore
She asks you what she was like
You canât answer
She asks you what your parents were like
You canât answer
You can only stare ahead blankly, knowing that despite her apparent calmness and curiosity, she cares little for you
Her eyes hold no love, only curiosity. She knows, youâre too different. She knows, you donât accept her, canât accept her, like this, your head far too full of fake hopes and dreams of a sweet family reunion
She has a family already
She asks you what her name was
You canât answer
Sheâs growing annoyed, and you can only sit in silence, the stench of the bodies in the room filling your nose
She raises from the bed, her sickle raised. She demands answers from you, answers her mother could not give her
Who was she?!
You canât answer
Who she was, is not who she is
Cassandra Dimitrescu
Bitter, you grit your teeth
Not your sister, not anymore. A different name, a different family, a different set of ideals, no longer yours alone. It was meant to be the two of you against the world
Bitter, you turn your head from her
Her patience runs out, and you draw your last breath
Daniela
Your sisterâŠ
Not a day passes you donât think of her
At times, your heart aches when you think of her and feel anger and bitterness at her for leaving you. For being foolish. For being delusional. For being taken away from your family
You still see her eyes when you close yours, so wide and fearful, full of tears
You remember running and hiding away when she was taken, her screams loud, her cheeks wet with salty tears
You never thought youâd see her again, thought your precious sister was gone forever
Or, maybe even worse, a mindless lycan roaming the forest
You didnât think she still existed, havenât heard a thing from her
Until the day you too were sent away
Not to Mother Miranda, no, but to work at the castle
A cruel fate, certainly. Youâre sure, your âparentsâ do not fully intend for you to return, money prioritized over you being home
Youâre terrified on your first day, your mind full of stories the scared staff has whispered to you already
Whispers of three sisters- Bela, Cassandra, Daniela, and their mother
Bela, the cruel one
Cassandra, the sadistic one
Daniela, the unpredictable one
Alcina, the noble one, nearly impossible to please
Youâre walking with a small group of women- soon to be staff members too- when you turn your head at a noise in the distance
A giggle, light, a little manic, but so painfully familiar
Your eyes are wide as you search for the source of it, your breathing ragged already
Could it be?
Could your sister be here?
A staff member, too?
A prisoner?!
You canât see her clearly, but your eyes are fixated on two women in the distance
One, short, in a maidenâs uniform. You canât see her face, but recognise the auburn-ginger hair, still
You think, sheâs a little shorter than your sister was, but refuse to let go of the string of hope youâre clutching to you, now
In front of her stands a tall woman, dressed in black. You canât see her face, canât make out anything but her height, the black dress and coat and the few flies surrounding her and connecting to her skin
You shiver, not trusting the sight. Surely, it didnât really connect with the woman
But, youâre sure: she must be one of the three sisters, one of the supposed monsters roaming the castle
Briefly, you want to fight, thinking your sister could be in danger
Has the tall woman taken a shine to her? Has she gotten herself in trouble because of her heart, again?
The thought it almost too much to bear
You didnât help her, couldnât help her, back then
You want to, now
But as you take a single step towards the pair a hand grabs your arm already, holding you back firmly
âDonât strayâ, the unknown woman, a maid, warns
Youâre led back to the group, your eyes lingering on the two women for as long as they stay in your sight
You can only pray, your sister is safe
You only pray, you will see her again, will get to hug her again, talk to her again
Ah, and your wish does come true, in the end
When, just the day after, youâre assigned to the library
An easy task, really. Stacking books, reorganizing them, sweeping dust here and there
You clean idly, your head turning often in hopes of seeing your sister
But, the library is empty
You turn often, keep imagining the sound of her voice until youâre worried you didnât hear her the day before at all
Then, out of nowhere, you feel a body press up against your back, a sickle held against your cheek
Immediately, you go completely tense, already picking up the scent of blood and flowery perfume behind you
âOooo, you must be new!â
Instantly, you turn, even as the sharp blade grazes your skin
Your eyes are wide when you do so
First, hopeful
Then, almost horrified
You stare up at the woman in black clothing, her golden eyes set on you, her gaze curious and almost dreamy
You study her features, so familiar to you that you could paint them from memory easily
Your sister
Uncaring of the circumstances, you canât help but throw your arms around her, your head pressing against her neck, tears already forming at your eyes
You hear her gasp above you, then hear her coo, as though you were nothing but a puppy clinging to her
When you look up at her hopefully, you see no recognition in her eyes at all, though find the faintest flicker of curiosity in the seemingly endless pools of gold
Gold, that you remember being green. Your heart aches as you find a glimpse of it in her eyes still, like a faint reminder of who she once was
You call her name, and she frowns. You try to search your mind, hoping to find her name in the countless scary stories that have been told to you
Daniela
Daniela Dimitrescu
A new name. A new life. A new reality, for her
Briefly, you think bitterly; sheâs left you behind again
But you wonât be letting go of her this time. Wonât let her heart carry her away, wonât let her naivety take her from you again. Maybe, if you bring her home, your family could be once more
Youâve missed her so much
You frown when she coos again, her black painted lips spreading into a smile. She smiles, like a predator finding its prey
You shiver, but donât let go
You wonât let go of your sister, this time
You call her name again, and just briefly thereâs a flicker of anger in her eyes, as though growing annoyed with the idea you might mistake her for someone else
Tears begin to form in your eyes
âDonât you remember me?â
Daniela is, overall, relatively easy to convince of who she uses to be
She hears you out, even as you get the feeling sheâs barely taking anything in, as though your- her- story was nothing but that; a story to her, a fairytale
Still, she takes care of you, brings you along a lot
Daniela does not allow you to call her by the name she once went by, but sheâs- kind, even as her sisters and mother send more than just one deadly glance your way
You understand fast: she is loved here. She has made a new family, has found one
Sheâs changed
But maybe, you can change too
You try hard to understand, try not to let it bother you when she kills and taunts and drinks from the staff
You try especially hard to avoid letting her see your terror whenever she randomly turns into a swarm of insects
After all, she could still be your sister, too
And while her sisters seem out for blood, Daniela seems almost excited to have you with her
She spends every day with you, chatting, playing games she has invented or heard of, telling you about her day
Only can you not get rid of thatâŠfeeling
Like she doesnât view you as family, no
She has her family, after allâŠ
No, you are- a friend, perhaps
A friend, she spends every single day with
Until, eventually, she becomes busier
When she hunts all day long and only has time for you in the evenings
When she prefers her new family over you, eventually
When, at last, she grows tired of playing with the little human that just canât seem to keep up with her
Youâre allowed to live at the castle, growing older while she stays forever young, energetic and happy, quickly bored when she visits and, in time, you can neither keep up with her speed nor understand her when she speaks far too fast and a little too low
In the years you spend together, she finds; she does find comfort in you
She likes you, too
But- she is a Dimitrescu

Okay, still on the Christopher is what makes buddie and the way that no other love interest will ever stand a chance because they would need to make Buck step out on Chris for it to work and that's unforgivable saga (read more here). If you've been here long enough, you know I refuse to believe they accidentally set up buddie, but while talking to @the-tomorrow-road, she actually gave a reasonable explanation based on the circumstances surrounding the way Maddie and Eddie were introduced. We know that Eddie was written for Ryan and he was supposed to be in one episode and then they liked him so much he ended up getting the full season and we know Maddie and Eddie were supposed to be a thing initially until Jen decided that Maddie should be with Chim. Making a lot of assumptions, if they had the intention of making Eddie a love interest for the dispatcher, there are stuff that were added to Eddie's character planning that give him a love interest introduction that they probably didn't bother changing once madney became the way to expand Maddie's relationship with the firehouse. One of the things here is making Eddie a single parent of a kid with special needs who needs help, which also conveniently gives them a way to keep Carla a side character. But since they never pulled the trigger of Eddie meeting someone through Buck, he ends up being a love interest for Buck purely by accident. Since Buck is no longer a bridge for connection, the connection happens with Buck. And obviously, the chemistry between Ryan and Oliver helped a lot.
But it all goes back to Eddie and how they created and established Eddie. Audiences don't like imperfect mothers and Eddie was always written as a widower archetype. Buck is not necessary for Christopher if Shannon is in the picture, so much so that the show gives Buck Ali when Shannon comes back (and break them up as soon as Shannon dies), but at no point Shannon had real chances because abandoning Chris for 2 years is unforgivable, death is the only way out for her in the narrative. And to have Eddie allow Buck to help him in ways he's not allowing Shannon, creates that expectation for Buck to be involved with Christopher that they fully solidify during the beginning of season 3. Even though they have been showing that contrast since s2, with the way Eddie is hiding Shannon from Chris just to take Buck with them on a family outing and having a total stranger assume they are a family. Since Eddie was written into a space that was created with Buck's love interest being gone, they kinda slipped Eddie into that space because of the circumstances even though probably that wasn't their intention. It was just a combination of chemistry and the fact that Eddie ends up interacting with Buck more because Chim has Hen and Maddie, and Hen has Chim and Karen, and Bobby has Athena.
And I will be honest, I keep trying to find an equivalent situation to see the difference on how they are handled, but media doesn't really do single fathers with unredeemable mothers that allow for a third person to step up as a parent the way Buck did (and in a single mother with an unredeemable father situation, it is always obvious that the best friend turned co-parent is a love interest). Sure, they only fully commit to it once Shannon is dead, but Buck inserting himself into Eddie problems as a way to establish Eddie's problems, makes it so Buck is part of the solution in a very permanent way. Even more considering they fully leaned into it as the seasons went on. Christopher being part of the equation when he has a mother who abandoned him puts Buck in a space where he can't leave Chris and it also puts Eddie in a space where he can't deny Chris a relationship with Buck. So you can't separate the two of them in the way they need to make other love interests work. The way they handled the Chris of it all is what forced them into a space where there's just no way to make other relationships work. Because they would be forced into a situation where they need to get Buck out of Eddie's will and then make Buck step out on Chris. And they put too much into making buddie partners to fully commit to splitting them up.

iâve seen a lot of great creators leave this app for this same reason but iâm genuinely devastated about you & your blog specifically đ i finally logged on so i could catch up on the written parts from this month (iâve been thinking about them every day but have been insanely busy to catch up) and this is what i see instead đ
i am SO so sorry that youâve been having to deal with this for so long now. i have been reading all of your updates since watercolor and have been following âheart outâ since the very beginning- yet i never knew you were going through this and that the negative comments had gotten so bad. all i ever saw was people praising your work (and rightfully so, youâre so so talented). iâm just glad to hear it has not affected your self esteem as a writer, but it is rather the tumblr environment that you need a change from. iâd absolutely love to read your works in a different platform if needed, there are so many of us who would follow you wherever. especially if you decide to finish âheart out,â it is so sad to think that, after such a long time, the story would be left incomplete right when their relationship is taking a turn đ„ș but i do hope you take all the time that you need <3 and i hope you feel how loved you truly are in this app despite all of the negativity, i hope this love has made your experience here at least worth something đ
PS iâll be catching up on the last few written parts this week, i feel so sorry that i wasnât able to share my thoughts on the story with you more often since i was always half asleep or busy with school/work đŁ reading the updates was TRULY the best part of my weeks. it was probably my favorite fic/au i have read on this app in all of my years here. thank you for everything! see you again soon (crossing fingers) đ
okay so iâve been considering this for a couple of weeks now.
the amount of hate iâve been getting since december has really gotten out of hand, to the point i donât even want to come here anymore. iâve always loved discussing my stories and replying to asks or comments about them that can be considered controversial, but ever since watercolor iâve noticed that i canât really do that in this blog, because me answering one controversial ask seems to be an open invitation for some people to attack me as a person and never let it go.
not only that, but i havenât been able to post a single chapter of heart out for two months now without getting rude people coming at me, and while they do not affect my self esteem or anything, it does affect my joy of coming here, which is by now non-existent. i love writing and posting my works, but some of you have taken the fun away from it.
with that said, this blog will be inactive as of today.
iâm not anywhere near done writing, but i wonât be coming back to this blog to do so. this used to be my safe place and it no longer feels like that to me, so iâm looking for a new one.
thank you to those of you who always commented and followed my stories, and iâm sorry iâll be leaving this last one unfinished. i wish you all the best<3
#if you ever switch to a different platform to continue writing#please take me with you đđŒ#sending lots of hugs đđ

part two of Max with kitty ears - maxiel, 980 words
Daniel stirs awake with Max still soundly asleep on top of him. He carefully fishes his phone out of his shorts and checks the time â they've been asleep for no more than a couple of hours.Â
Slowly he extracts his other hand out of Maxâs shorts, hoping it won't wake him. Max stirs and tightens his arms around Daniel's torso but doesn't wake up.Â
Daniel waits a few seconds then unlocks the camera app and takes about a dozen of pictures and videos of them together: of Max, cuddled to his chest, of Daniel's hand in his hair, petting the ears.
He saves all of them to his blackmail folder, along with pictures of Max making breakfast in their kitchen, wearing only Daniel's bright pink socks; Max, wine drunk, passed out in their bed, hugging one of his trophies; a selfie of them, Daniel smiling at the camera, covered in lipstick kisses, Max, hiding his blush being his hands in the background; a few nudes from their message thread.Â
Then he cards his hand through Maxâs hair, scratching behind one of the ears â it seems to finally wake him up. Max grumbles and cuddles to Daniel harder, squeezing his ribs.
âMorning, sunshine,â Daniel murmurs, smiling gently.Â
Max yawns and his ears flatten back to his head. âIt's 4 p.m.,â he groggily points out and lifts himself from Daniel's chest.Â
âIt's morning somewhere,â Daniel shrugs and sits up too, rubbing his neck, it doesn't always agree with Daniel's love for napping on the couch.Â
âI'm hungry,â Max says, standing up from the couch and stretching, arms behind his head.Â
Ooh big stretch, Daniel thinks, but doesn't say, because he, not for the first time, gets distracted by Maxâs stomach peeking from under his t-shirt.
Daniel follows him to the kitchen. âAlright, what do you want? Milk? Fish?â he pauses, âA mouse?âÂ
Max looks at him, ears flat, annoyed expression on his face like Daniel is one of those journalists with stupid questions.Â
âStop being silly or I will ask Jimmy and Sassy to pee in all of your shoes,â he threatens.Â
âYou can speak cat?â Daniel gasps.Â
He always wanted to know what the two demons think when they sit and stare at a random corner. Or maybe they can finally ask the cats if they do actually feel sad when the bedroom door is closed, as Max always claims.Â
âNo, but they will understand me anyway,â Max replies and hoists himself on the kitchen counter.Â
âFair,â Daniel concedes and opens the fridge. Maxâs ear flicks at the sound.Â
âHow does it feel, by the way?â Daniel asks, taking out a can of Redbull and handing it to Max. âHaving the ears?â
Max cracks open the can and takes a sip. Daniel decides to make sandwiches.
âWeird,â Max says, playing with the tab. âI know they are of course because of the curse, but sometimes I forget. Itâs like I always had them,â he muses, rubbing one of the ears.Â
Daniel hums, moving around Max to take out the ingredients, a cutting board and a knife.Â
âSounds are louder, that's the only difference I think,â Max says, stealing a piece of ham from the cutting board.
âYou never told how they cursed you,â Daniel prompts, slicing the cheese. He cuts an extra slice for Max to steal again.Â
Max plops the cheese into his mouth, chews. âBecause it's not very interesting. This girl sprinkled a powder on my head,â he explains before taking a sip of his Redbull.Â
Daniel doesn't know a lot about curses, but that sounds about right. Probably the reason it won't work for long. They are lucky that it was a fangirl essentially pulling a prank on Max, and not someone who actually wanted to harm him.Â
âWhy cat ears anyway?â Daniel asks once the sandwiches are finished, and both of them are sitting at the dining table.Â
âThe doctor said it's probably random,â Max shrugs and takes a bite. He chews a little and hums, pleased.Â
Daniel feels pride blooming in his chest. He's not the best at cooking, but the meals he does know how to make are good, or better than good, according to Max.Â
âWhat animal would I be?â Daniel asks after taking a bite too. âIf I got cursed?âÂ
âHm,â Max hums, squinting at Daniel. He turns his head a little while thinking. Cute.Â
âI think a poodle, maybe?â he suggests with a smirk.Â
Daniel lets out an undignified sound. âA poodle?!â he splutters. âThey don't even have ears!â
Max looks like he's about to explode. âDaniel, what? All dogs have ears,â he giggles.Â
All dogs have ears, but poodles have the most ugly ones, Daniel thinks â or imagines. He doesnât remember the last time he saw one, or if he ever saw one. Regardless, thatâs not the point.
âThat's very insensitive, you know,â he huffs while Max laughs. âI thought you would say a honey badger. That's literally my brand,â he grumbles, defensive.Â
âDo honey badgers even have ears?â Max asks, cackling.Â
âDo they- Of course they have ears, Max!â Daniel says, exasperated. âSmall cute ones, on their head,â Daniel explains, lifting his hands to his hair.Â
âAwww,â Max coos, the bastard. This is Daniel's brand they're talking about. If Max asked what ears he would get, Daniel would've said lionâs, a hundred percent. It's not like the answer would be wrong â a lion is just a big cat.Â
âEat your sandwich,â he huffs, nodding at Max's plate. Daniel needs to come up with a revenge for this. Maybe it's time to use the blackmail folder.Â
âI love you anyway, Daniel,â Max smiles, settling. âNo matter what ears you have.â
Daniel rolls his eyes. Fine, revenge can wait.
âI love you too,â he says begrudgingly. âEven after your cat ears are gone,â he smirks.Â
Max kicks him under the table and takes a bite of his sandwich.

My pillow was slowly soaking up the tears beside me as I stared up at the ceiling. I could feel the wetness on my ears from the sunken cushion. My breathing had finally calmed after hours of sobs that still ached my chest, but my tears had no stop in sight. My sleeve was coated in snot, being too exhausted to grab any tissues or even a towel. I was broken. I didnât know when I was going to move next. I didnât have a reason to move again.Â
He was gone. Finally left for Los Angeles to pursue his true love and passion. Not me. Music. I still remember the look on Nickâs face when Noah didnât even glance my way as I watched them all pack up the car with the last of their things, hoping I could catch one last word or touch from him. Pure pity. Like he knew Noah had given up on anything but his future, leaving everything, including me, behind. Folio had been nice enough to give me one last quick hug and a few encouraging words, but it wasnât enough.Â
Not only had Noah ignored me, it was like he managed to get the others to want to as well. Or maybe they were all okay with leaving me behind. Youâd think years of memories and laughter with the boys would mean theyâd spare me anything more than a spontaneous talk of their plans with nothing more to give.Â
I wanted to make it work. I tried giving him and the others ideas to stay in touch. Iâd save up to visit them. We could talk on the phone. Fuck, at this point, Iâd be okay with an occasional text, as long as it meant they still cared. But the day Noah told me their plan, it was like he turned into a different person. Slowly cancelling plans until we just stopped making them at all. He was too busy planning or packing. They were trying to put a deposit down on a nice place and apparently discussing with a realtor took weeks. Every text I sent was giving one excuse or another until I just stopped sending them.Â
I managed to keep my tears to myself until I watched their car drive off, heading for the airport, but the minute I stepped into mine, my vision went blind and my head rang with emotion. And I drove home like that, not caring if I could see the road or not. If I could even catch my breath at stop signs or if I even stopped at them. I was destroyed and lost my will to care.Â
I barely made it up the stairs to my room, seeing all the memories we made in every room of the house. Movie nights in the living room, Noah and I cuddled up in blankets with over seasoned popcorn. The boys overfilling my kitchen and practically destroying it on nights where they decided they could make a drunk snack together. The stairs the boys raced up multiple times, tripping and almost breaking teeth each time. The ones Noah has passionately carried me up on multiple occasions, taking me to the very bed Iâm lying in. If I turn my head, Iâm almost convinced I could smell him on my sheets, even if itâs been weeks since heâs even been near the house, let alone my bed.Â
By now, they're probably all reaching their new house, excitedly moving everything in and calling dibs on bedrooms. Blasting music and singing along like we used to on days Iâd help them with chores or vice versa. I always took it as my job to watch over them and make sure no one got hurt with how excited and rowdy they can get, and I feel a small pang of worry in my chest that theyâll no longer have someone to look out for them, despite them never actually needing it, always having each other.Â
Tears are still falling down my cheeks, collecting in puddles next to my ears, just a little slower now. I must finally be running out. My chest still hurts from the soul crushing sobs that almost didnât stop. It was finally getting dark, meaning it was getting late, and I couldnât tell if the exhaustion was going to knock me out or keep me up. I couldnât feel anything other than my swollen eyes, wet pillow, pounding head, and aching chest.Â
I donât know when I started counting them, maybe after the first few weeks of wallowing in my own pity, but tonight will be my 57th night sleeping alone. And so many more were to come. How he went from never wanting to leave my bed to never failing to find an excuse to stay away from it will forever leave me in mystery, but he got his wish. He wonât have to see me again. He and the boys will never have to see this house again. Maybe one day, Iâll follow in their footsteps and move away, just incase theyâre worried theyâd run into me if they ever came to visit.Â
I thought Iâve already gone through all the stages of grief dealing with them pulling away, but I think now that I know theyâre gone, Iâve just barely moved onto anger. And most of it isnât even anger towards them. Itâs towards myself. A pitiful sense of anger. Because how could this happen to me? How could I lose the boys I called my family from day one? What could I have done that they were willing to so easily leave me behind like I was nothing?Â
Night eventually turns into day, the only thing I consider sleep being the moments my eyes closed long enough to remember every moment we spent together. Maybe I could treat them as dreams, convincing myself that getting them back was nothing more than a fantasy I created in my head.Â
Noah
I barely spoke the entire trip, pretending to be asleep most of the plane ride. Even as we moved everything into our new place, I didnât join in on arguing over the rooms, just taking the one they gave me. It mustâve been out of pity, as it was the master bedroom, but all I could think of was how small I felt in such a large space.Â
I silently carried my bags and boxes in, most of our belongings getting here a week before we did, and it was just sitting around the room, unpacked. I didnât even unpack any clothes, still lying in what I threw on this morning before shoving the rest of my things into bags.Â
I couldnât do anything more than lie here, replaying that pained look on her face as I ignored her last wish of a goodbye. I know what I did was fucked, but to hurt her was going to make this easier. I was too focused on this dream to even think I could make this work without hurting her in the future. Days were going to get busier and Iâd slowly drift away as my music became my number one priority. I couldnât watch it happen over time. It needed to be said and done.Â
So I laid here, staring at the plain white walls and ceiling, seeing her face in every after image. Silent words are hard to speak, but her thoughts were all I could see. âDonât ever leave,â she said with the broken look in her eyes. It killed me, but I had to make it work. I had to leave her, despite every cell in my body being pulled back towards her.
Ever since the night I told her we were leaving, I could barely sleep a wink alone, but to fall asleep underneath the same sky again is out of the question, so I know Iâd have to get used to it now.Â
One day, we will start touring. Everyday, somewhere new. I want that to be a sense of comfort, knowing my dreams, but I canât help but make a silent promise to come home soon. A chance to bring me back to her. When we both finally wake underneath the same sun again, I hope I donât run into her, knowing time will stop and Iâll wish that I could rewind. But I canât. As much as I wish I couldâve brought her with me and made her a part of my journey, I just knew, deep in my heart, that I had to ruin it before time did. I couldnât make her stop her entire life just for me. I had dreams and so did she, and I couldnât put mine above hers, no matter how badly I wanted to stay beside her.

leaving him alone with your plushies ۶ৠpercy jackson blurb
cw: nothing, really. itâs just very fluffy ⥠& very short, and a slight little mention of past 'activities', but you'll miss it if you squint so eh. enjoy!
the scream you let out was equally hilarious as it was terrifying. and it had your pretty boyfriend â of who was the sole reason for such a sound even escaping your vocal cords in the first place â literally smack into your cabins' door like a bird would against a window.
"you okay? are you hurt? you okay??" Percy came running like your life was on the line.
before you could offer an answer, his hands were already reaching for your arm, your hand â basically anything â to make sure you were okay. "talk to me pretty girl, hm? what happened?"
"Perseus Jackson" and yea, he might've just flinched a little at your tone, but his hands did not fall away quite yet, "what did you do to my bed?"
"uh, what did i do to your..." the confusion was evident, until his sea green eyes followed your own, all the way to your sheets and it suddenly â thankfully! â all made sense...
when Percy was left by you this morning, the boy was so bored! so, in his typical bored boyfriend fashion, he had taken the time to arrange your beloved stuffed animals to recreate a ... slightly 'gruesome' scene. because after fluffing out your pillows, and folding your blanket, he was only left with turning your plushies from facing the wall...
then, though â his genius mind was unstoppable! â he had come face to face with the plush he'd gotten you for your birthday! (a cute octopus plushie in your favorite color, and maybe a bit too big for your small cabin bed... especially when he was sharing it with you). and maybe it was sleepy delusion, but he had made up this whole scenario of how the gifted giant sea creature was basically your child!
Percy admits, he might have gotten a little carried away, staring at its big button eyes, and thinking about how it was probably so jealous of all your other fuzzy friends.
so, he explains, he had used each of it's fluffy tentacles, to wrap them around each of your other plushes, to make it look like he was trying to murder them! not that it was rally scary, or anything. just a little cruel, maybe.
when he tells you about it, and smiles a bit sheepish, you feel equally flattered as you feel horrified! he can only watch with endeared amusement as you quickly detangle all of your emotional support stuffies, push a kiss to their heads â as though they were scared or hurt â and put them each back where they belonged.
"i love you Perseus, but gods are you dumb..."
"love you too, pretty girl."
something a little different? i needed some fluff. i miss him. saw this in a tiktok so credit to that, ig? should i write a smutty blurb about what happened before this? like Percy rearranging your guts and turning your plushies to face the wall because he's all like 'nuh uh, you do not wanna see me do this to your mom'. or is that weird? đ (i'll probably do it anyway, you can't stop me!)

Love your art! They all look so beautiful in your style!
This is a bit of a different take but honestly when you introduced Jazz I never thought of him as a romantic rival to D? Maybe it's that I rarely read J/OP, but to me he still feels like Orion's best friend. I would say //only// his best friend, but I think Jazz takes this very seriously: he platonically loves Orion and as the less naive/more street savvy of the two of them he thinks it's his job to make sure Orion doesn't get hurt. I can also see him being very possessive of his place as Orion's best friend.
He may have also heard about D from Orion before, maybe even heard about that "insignificant" comment, and even if he didn't, I can see him making Orion spill the beans very easily. He probably also quickly realized D's feelings, and Orion's, too, and in that his interaction with D (the comic where they talk about the garments) feels more like Jazz going "Orion is my friend, and very dear to me, so that is //my// reason to let him touch my visor/touch his garment. If you don't want me to use my connection to Orion to separate you two you better mech up and treat him better and admit to your feelings towards him, because otherwise you don't deserve him."
That also works very well with the two images of how Jazz and D treat Orion's garment: D holds it like something he wants but (feels like he) can't have. He has it wrapped around himself like he thinks he has to hold onto it when others rip it away, but it also makes him totally tangled up in it - a good metaphor for his feelings for Orion. Jazz on the other side is very sure in his place as Orion's best friend, and unlike D, he //trusts// Orion (the garment is around his throat) and Orion's feelings (the garment hangs loose, and he doesn't try to hold onto it because he knows it's not necessary).
It's your AU, so you can obviously take it in whichever direction you want to, but I thought you might be interested in my take on it.
I always enjoy knowing that my work can be interpreted in more ways than one (unless itâs just something blatant wrong that hurts characterâ story) so yours arenât any less delightful! I donât read JOP either (thereâs almost nothing to read) and it is true Jazz has never done anything to explicitly label his gestures as romantic toward Orion, charactersâ vagueness is something I take pride in at times. It was interesting hearing a different take on Jazz here
