“The Folk of the Faerie Kingdom” are now more often known as the fey. (Robert Klasnich from Vince Garcia’s article in Dragon 155, March 1990) “While faeries of all sorts can see and venture through the otherwise invisible gates into the Faerie Realm, only Rhiannon’s messengers (the sylphs) may shift between planes at will.”

It's become too dangerous with cars to meet people at literal crossroads. The old demon loses most of his potential clientele from miraculous semi trucks and speedsters before they can shake hands. So the devil had to get clever.
At a four way intersection somewhere out west, where the farm houses have long disappeared, where the neglected potholes have made the highway half gravel again, where the cell towers don't reach, where the radio only can only pick up static if you are lucky, and where even nowhere seems a long way off, you can find a lone Bucky's, open for business.
It's stocked with anything one might need, open 24 hours a day, with a cashier at the counter always cheerful to see you. But be warned to those truly desperate for help, especially those who find themselves there as the last few rays of light fade away, for this is not your saving grace.
In the spirit of true American capitalism, the devil is a man who knows to pounce on an opportunity to profit, and you will find your much needed services you came for are.... far, far more expensive than earlier that day.
In situations like these, it pays to keep two dollars in quarters on you at all times out west. It doesn't matter how long it takes the dispatch to get there, or how expensive the fix by others, or even if you end up having to hand yourself over to the law to get out of this, at least the payphone outside sticks to coins and will never charge in mortal souls.

The Feywild
In the Dungeons & Dragons universe, the Feywild, also called the Plane of Faerie, is a place of beauty, magic, and peril. Vibrant magic and striking scenery that transcend the ordinary laws of reality abound in this parallel dimension to the Material dimension. Because the sun never completely sets, the Feywild is known for its eternal twilight, which gives the surrounding area a constant glow. Numerous mythical species, such as the elusive fey, inhabit this magical world and represent the plane's inherent unpredictability. The Feywild's strong ties to whimsy and emotion are among its distinguishing characteristics. The terrain frequently reflects the temperament and mood of its people, evolving and adapting to the emotions of those who travel it. This can make navigation challenging, as routes can change abruptly, making it easy for passengers to get lost in the constantly shifting landscape. Time is variable in the Feywild, and what appears to be a few hours could be days, weeks, or even years in the Material Plane.
The people that live in the Feywild are as diverse and vibrant as the natural surroundings. Common fey creatures with distinct qualities and attributes include satyrs, dryads, and pixies. These creatures frequently exemplify the Feywild's dual nature: they can be erratic and mischievous, but they also fiercely defend their homes and family members. Two significant groups inside the Feywild, the Seelie and Unseelie Courts, stand in for the positive and bad facets of fey culture. Despite its reputation for kindness and beauty, the Seelie Court is not without its share of cunning and dishonesty. In contrast, the Unseelie Court is more nefarious and frequently connected to evil schemes and darker motives. The Feywild is full of powerful magic that frequently takes unexpected forms. Because of the plane's innate magic, spells cast in this realm may have heightened effects or unexpected results. For adventurers, this makes the Feywild a site of both enormous potential and danger. Those who have the courage to look for them can find fey-magic-infused artifacts and treasures, but they frequently have a hidden curse or a cost.
The Feywild's power transcends its boundaries and sometimes seeps into the Material Plane. This can lead to places where the line separating the two worlds is thin and permeable, called fey crossings. The natural world seems more vibrant and alive in these settings, which are frequently characterized by an unearthly aura. Although these crossings make it possible for animals and explorers to go between the planes, these trips are rarely simple. The Feywild is a magical and mysterious place where danger and beauty coexist. Driven by a charm as seductive as it is unpredictable, it provides a complex tapestry of experiences for those who go within its boundaries. Because of the Feywild's unpredictable nature, which rewards those who embrace its delights while punishing the naive, adventurers must tread carefully.

End 24 publish date!?
Exciting news! Unless something goes horribly wrong, the first chapter of Strange Tales from the End will be published on the 1st of November 2024 on Royal Road.
From there, the official schedule is a chapter every two months, but that might change depending on my school work load.
Not as sure about the audio version but hopefully the same date, or at least within the week. Narrated by me on my youtube channel.

Can I just say, before I return to the shadows of my mind, that naming your child 'Mortimer Toynbee' is setting him up for absolute failure. That child had NO CHANCE to be anything other than a Toad. Raven saw his I.D. and knew without a doubt she could finagle him for the next four decades without issue.
#ᴄʜᴀɴɢɪɴɢ ᴍʏ ʙʀᴀɪɴ ᴄʜᴇᴍɪsᴛʀʏ; ooc.#i keep telling people that words & names have power. its like no one's studied the feywild doctrines#i'm so sorry toad. I would've named you something else... probably just as bad tbh#You have mortimer energy maybe your folks were right

Pixies, Sprite & Sylvan Sanctums
Pixies and Sprites play an essential role in the Axi military, serving as companions and aides to their respective Axi warriors. Their small stature and magical abilities make them invaluable in both reconnaissance and support roles. These whimsical beings bring a touch of the Feywild’s enchantment to the often grim and unending nature of war the Axi are destined to fight in.
Daily Lives and Roles
~ With their ability to become invisible and their natural agility, Pixies and Sprites excel in scouting missions. They gather vital information about enemy positions, traps and terrain, relaying this intelligence to their Axi Warriors. They are also known to relay information to other Pixies and Sprites or other Axi warrior units on the field for wider communication.
They possess a variety of magical abilities, such as casting illusions, charming foes, and providing healing. Their presence on the battlefield can turn the tide of combat, offering strategic advantages and critical support. Beyond their tactical roles, Pixies and Sprites bring an element of cheer and whimsy to the Axi warriors. Their playful nature and light-hearted banter can lift spirits and alleviate the stress of continuous conflict.
Sylvan Sanctums
Function & Significance; The Sylvan Sanctums, forged by Priallia Axia, Jhulqira and his Drow alchemist colleagues, are ingenious devices crafted from natural materials and infused with the healing floral essences of the Feywild. These canister-like cocoons serve to revitalize critically injured Pixies and Sprites. Each Axi Warrior carries one of these portable Sylvan Sanctums, always ready to ensure the survival of their fey companion.
When a Pixie or Sprite is critically injured, they can be placed within the Sylvan Sanctum, where they are enveloped in a healing embrace that accelerates their recovery. In dire moments, an Axi Warrior will quickly make their way to their injured Pixies or Sprite, scooping them up into the Sylvan Sanctum. However, these devices are not omnipotent; they cannot save those whose bodies are too severely damaged or obliterated. This limitation serves as a somber reminder of the dangers faced by these fey companions.
Banter on the Sylvan Sanctums
Serious Banter
Pixie: “I don’t enjoy being confined in that tiny cocoon, but it has saved my wings more times than I care to count”
Sprite: “Indeed. The Sylvan Sanctum is a blessing, though I shudder to think of the times it failed. We must guard ourselves as well. Even as we guard our Axi.
Comedic Banter
Pixie: “Back in that little room again? I swear, these days it’s more like a cozy nap pod!”
Sprite: “Ah, the vitality cradle! My own personal spa treatment, if only it didn’t come with the whole ‘near death’ clause.
The Pixies and Sprites, despite their occasional reluctance to be encased in the Sylvan Sanctums, understand the importance of these devices. They offer both practicality and a touch of the mystical that uniquely embodies a blend of nature, alchemy and magic that defines the Rubellyn Feywild. Symbolizing the ingenuity of Drow, Aelvaren and Fey in arcane craftsmanship, these devices though imperfect, are a lifeline for the Fey companions. Allowing them to continue their vital roles alongside their formidable Axi Warriors.

deeply struck by the idea of fae folk playing regular ass monopoly. you try to tell them that they need to pay you 35 bucks for landing on Park Place and they look up with pity in their eyes, having already calculated how to use the 'Go' space to steal and use your real actual credit card information

Campaign Summary's (1/4)
The following is a summary of a finished Campaign of D&D 5e which unfolded within Wildfall...
Wildfall Eclipse | 30 Sessions + Epilogue
Far into the Whitedrape wastes sits Vik, a city, like a pen, corralling the desperate northerners into the blackmarble mountainside. The common people forced to fend for themselves as the resources that were once abundant have long been consumed; exploited and destroyed by the fearful aristocrats of the Oikos Ward. The "prophetic, or godly tied" rulers, the Simirinov family, have placed the city into a draconic rule of law since the very start, using their Wardens as hounds against the common people below. Those outside of the ruling class have banded together within the snowed-in Favela's, founding a northern hospitality despite the Simirinov's violent presence. Faith, Promises and Punk-ish attitude are the only things that keep you alive in the dark north.
PC's (The Lichendogs)
Finn (Hadozee, Drunken Master Monk)
Lumen (Drow, Soulknife Rogue)
Juliette (Human, Wildfire Druid)
Melody (Half-Elf, Life Cleric)
Legacy (Humunculus, Clockwork Sorc/Creation Bard)
Thrown into the fray at the footsteps of a Hitao Stalf, towers dedicated to free heating for the misfortunate, the group were unwillingly pulled in the midst of a mass conspiracy. A Gang known as the Death Mistresses, A Pseudoscientist Wizard, the Royal Family, a Grand Conservatory, all working with or against something from the Otherside, a being able to pull on the strings of emotions and takeover the mind suddenly; the being? Legacy's previous Patron and Fey witch, Lene-Scarlett. Backstabbed by her Unwilling Coven in the Fey-reflection of Vik. Lene was severed from her body, having her mind unknowingly scattered to the Material plane, while her body endlessly rots in the Feywild. For a stretch of time she was satisfied twisting the emotions of the royal family and acting as a surrogate god to them, but now is severed from them aswell. The Old Queen Amelia's ritual managed to protect her and her children's mind from her twisting, but now Lene demands a new body again, turning her sights to someone more apt to her warping. Legacy, a body and mind without soul is her new target, and is happy to exact revenge on the ruling family and their city, who banished her again.
Fending off the twisted emotions of a rival gang leader under Lene's grasp and saving the city from near destruction, the group, now crowned The Lichendogs, turned to work tenuously with the Old Queen once again, both determined to finish this once and for all. However, with most of the group being those from the Favela's or Exurbs of the city, they were plenty familiar with the cruelty of the Simirinov line and kept her at a safe distance; only working together when necessary. Lumen and Juliette, a punk from the Favela's and a reactionary princess from the Oikos found something unique, something Lene could use against them, yes, but unique none the less, a young love. Finn and Melody reunited with their lost families, freeing them from prison or reconnecting after many years. Legacy found purpose, both as a unprecedented life in the World, but aswell a friend to all those that were damaged by Lene's torment. And Lene? though she is doomed to live until the near-very end of time, her mind is stuck in a endless dream within Legacy. Ultimately, getting what she wanted after all these years, but not the way she expected, the two are now one but she is not in the drivers seat.

My personal headcanon is that Snezhnaya is home to the faefolk, and the winter court.
There used to be a summer court, but it was destroyed as collateral in one of Celestia’s plans, and their heavily weakened denizens were scattered across Teyvet (what we know as Seelies, and probably whatever Paimon is too, lol).
In anguish, the Summer Queen, who was also the goddess of love, overthrew and killed the Winter Court’s Queen, the former Cryo Archon, who played a part in the destruction, merging the courts, and becoming the current archon, the Tsarista. Now, out for blood she vows vengeance on Celestia. Her loving heart is frozen in grief, causing even the most southern parts of Snehnaya to freeze over, bringing what remained of the summer court into an eternal winter.
Fey are shifters, the Sneznayan equivalent of Yokai and Adepti, with a true form and a human form. Not all fey are Fatui, like their queen—there are also civilian fey with families, and hidden fey villages.
Also, this absolutely would explain Foxtaglia in a fanfic. He’s a shifter and his harbinger outfit is specially designed to accommodate his shifts. He would pretend to be human, and uses his fox form to go undercover.
Also, imagine if he tries to shift in foul legacy. I think I’d dub it “vulpine voidcrawler.”

I've decided that Vierna's twin is alive and chaotic evil. I'll try to use him to woo Gale. It'll be hell of a ride, but I regret nothing. Yet. Probably will in about three hours.
But let's be honest, what aligment could possibly have Mezzoberranzean noble with black dragon blood that's so strong it awakened while in cradle?
