‘Flowers in Barbed Wire’: my response to Banksy’s ‘Love is in the Air’ (Aka ‘Flower Thrower’ / ‘Rage, the Flower Thrower’) at Manchester Art Gallery Mr #Banksy, so long as flowers are trapped, no one can touch them without getting hurt. I’m not saying it because I hurt my hands on the barbed wire as I was making this sculpture, but because of all those who have tried all their lives to throw flowers but have never succeeded. So long as flowers are enmeshed in barbed wire they can’t be touched and they wither in confinement.
