First of all, congratulations!! Love this family lol. Now for my question, did Shadow Milk ever tell the beasts about his children or does he plan to?

I think it's kinda interesting how, while the Beasts are opposites of the Ancients, some feel like reflections to Ancients they're not directly related to.

Starting with the pair that feels most obvious, Silent Salt and Dark Cacao. Their designs especially seem similar with the armor, sword, and color palette. Silence also feels like it can be related to Dark Cacao's isolation during his previous arc.

This feels the same as with Pure Vanilla and Mystic Flour. Again with their color palettes, but also with their religious theming, both being obligated to help all those that seek their guidance.

Again, mostly similar vibe with these two. You could even argue that Destruction can be considered an extention of Passion in a way. These next pairs get a bit weaker with their comparisons, which is why I started with the strongest ones first.

My comparisons for Golden Cheese and Eternal Sugar come down to both of them having wings and some speculation I have. "Eternal" I feel could imply abundance, which may be a motivation for Eternal Sugar's slothfulness. It's possible they simply have all they desire, thus no longer having the will to do anything.

Lastly, for White Lily Cookie and Shadow Milk, the biggest point of comparison I have is that Shadow Milk Cookie's theatrical presentation could also be considered an extention of freedom (especially since it's implied that he used to be an academic). This is the one I really stretch the most with, I'd say.

Why do I bring any of this up? What I think about these possible links is that the Beasts reflect what each of the Ancients could become, if taken to their logical extreme. Also, with those that share their Soul Jams being their opposites (Pure Vanilla being truth and Shadow Milk being deceit, etc.), it can imply that each of the Ancients are each other's opposites as well. Opposites that mesh well enough despite it, anyway.

I'm bad at analysis, so do what you will with this. I don't know if this is anything. Implications and whatnot.

This ship has a lot of potential of Mystic Flour being taught by Dark Cacao to regain her empathy for cookies. I see that Dark Cacao understands what happened with her (overwhelmed by the requests of her followers and saddened/disheartened by what happened in her absence as she isolated herself to calm herself) and understands she wanted to help cookies like before, but does it in the wrong way.

By this, I see interactions between these two as Dark Cacao becoming the "teacher" to Mystic Flour, showing that things in the past would not happen now in the current timeline and that her past empathy and desires to help have not disappeared, but need a direction to be moved. (also apparently Mystic Flour cannot beat the resting bitch face era if she's being caring to Cloud Haetae sooooo a start)

I mainly ship these two, they can work so well together and can learn from each other a lot❤️

Being honest, this whole episode made me get back to Cookie Run for many reasons. Eternal Sugar is one interesting Beast, her motivations are like Mystic Flour in a way (wanting to do good but goes about it wrongly) but she's also very cruel about it, mostly mentioned and through context clues from other cookies. (looking at you Pavlova and Sugarfly)

And with the recent episode of Hollyberry awakening and promising to return to Eternal Sugar's paradise to teach her the lost passion Eternal Sugar had for cookies, I see it working between them. Granted, I think Eternal Sugar (once given the chance of redemption) should immensely work on rewriting her wrongs of what she did to cookies of her paradise first and foremost and lessen her immense obsession and objectivity of Hollyberry.

I do ship them, but I glide a little towards SugarCheese (Eternal Sugar x Golden Cheese) and i could make it poly👌🏾

ShadowVanilla

ShadowVanilla. The biggest Beast x Ancient that plagues all social media. Not very much of a fan of how they woobify Shadow Milk and act like he doesn't cause the problems around Beast Yeast.

The dynamic is.... something. Shadow Milk mainly projects onto Pure Vanilla to the point where he turns Pure Vanilla to a different coin like he did. He's lonely in the sense of fearing to be the only Beast as he is, willing to tear others (even the other Beasts) down for company. And Pure Vanilla, once awakened, tries to show that there's opportunity to see the in between of lies and truth, which Shadow Milk is like "no" and is in denial about everything. (I haven't gotten to this episode so if I'm wrong on this analysis, correct me)

I do not ship them, I really can't. Shadow Milk needs a lot, A LOT, of help (therapy for the blue jester twink cookie) before getting with someone. I will throw him at a OC when it happens-

BurningCheese

I will say it here: I personally cannot ship these two together.

A lot of people say it's weird to ship them because of brutality on black women and harmful stereotypes, but I don't think that is much of the case for them. For this ship, I think the main focus of why people don't like it should be more on how Burning Spice is adamant to kill Golden Cheese himself, rather than watching someone else do the job. And also how he wants her to end him to end his depression of watching civilizations rise and fall countless times without changing the flow as the being of change itself. I think sizing this ship down as "brutalization of black women and harmful stereotypes" should be the LEAST of worries, coming from a black person.

These two are more-so comrades like from Genshin Impact with the interactions between Tartaglia/Childe and Player; can become great friends and make each other better people for not only themselves but to others around them. It may help with Burning Spice's identity as the being of change.

I also cannot bring myself to ship them, sorry. Would ship Burning Spice with a OC, tho-

Also since Silent Salt and White Lily's episode isn't out yet, I have nothing to say about their ship because I want to see the episode air and play through it enough to get a understanding of them.

With this in mind, I agree with most that say the Beasts can be redeemed with their Ancient counterparts giving them a push into the direction of being good and normal people.

It's just for some cookies (staring at Shadow Milk and Burning Spice) I can't really see getting romantic with their Ancient. Any other cookie (OCs included), yeah, but with the Ancient counterpart is just a no for me.

But yeah, there's my TED Talk on the Beasts x Ancients and pretty much my stance on shipping the Beasts in general.

The whole "Beast x Ancient ships are problematic" debate in the Cookie Run Kingdom fandom annoys me so much because 60-80% of the people saying it are hypocrites who go "oh but except SM and PV!" When it inevitably comes around to a ship they actually like.

Burning Spice x Golden Cheese is problematic because he tried to murder her and aspired to destroy everything she loves because destruction is the only thing that brings him joy at all. None of this matters but, sure, I get WHY you'd think that. Obviously if they were in a relationship it'd be abusive. Mystic Flour x Dark Cacao is problematic because she essentially murdered his friends/soldiers, leaving him alone so it'd be easier to manipulate him, almost convinced him into believing nothing truly matters so she could steal his Soul Jam and use its powers for her own purposes, showed him a vision of a reality where he died because of her, in which his son took his throne and nobody really missed him all that much to further prove her point. Yeah, that's mighty fucked up!

...but Shadow Milk and Pure Vanilla? Oh they're just two goofy goobers who've had a couple bad moments from time to time but it doesn't define them or anything. They still love each other so much! There's nothing abusive here! I once saw someone say (essentially, not word-for-word) "All SM did was turn his friends into cards and fuck with them a bit, that's not abuse!" And... buddy... pal... amigo... Shadow Milk psychologically tortured Pure Vanilla, threatened his friends lives as if they were toys, altered *his own memories* in which he was supposedly watching him throughout his entire life to make him believe everything he knew was lie, that no matter what he did he could never escape his presence, and broke him down so badly all in an attempt to take his Soul Jam. THAT IS ABUSE!!!! Does "abuse" just mean psychical violence to y'all?? Of course it doesn't, because MF also psychologically abused and manipulated DC, and you can recognize that, but when it's a ship you actually like? Oh nothing wrong here! That abuse *totally* didn't happen, and if it did, it's not a big deal anyway because it wasn't even THAT bad! Do you not see how this sounds?

This is what I mean when I say "antis are antis until it's a fucked up ship they like" and that "'problematic ship' really just means rarepair." Ships they don't like are problematic (because they know calling a ship "problematic" is a buzzword that instantly makes them win the argument even if it's untrue), but ships they do like, even if they're also problematic, conveniently have a thousand excuses for why they totally aren't bad but the Other ship is, even if it involves entirely erasing/ignoring integral parts of the story and the characters actions. Rarepairs (BS x GC, MF x DC) are easier to attack because hardly anyone will defend it, but popular ships (SM x PV) never get criticized, because if you try to, you suddenly have a bounty on your head, even if that ship is literally by their own definition problematic (sometimes even more than the looked down upon rarepair!).

Shadow Milk x Pure Vanilla is a "problematic ship". It is abusive, it is abuser x victim, NOT in the "uwu quirky toxic yaoi (they were mean to each other like one time)" way, and no amount of you woobifying Shadow Milk and blatantly lying about what happens to spread your narrative that it isn't will change that. This is not an opinion, or an agree-to-disagree situation, it is an objective fact. This isn't being said to scare or insult you if you're an antishipper that likes Shadownilla, my point isn't that "SHADOWNILLA FANS ARE PROSHITTERS!!" It's that none of this matters at all because it's just ships. You're not supporting *real life* abusive relationships just because you find an unhealthy relationship in fiction hot (which you can't even control). Accept it and move on

Baking adventures continue. Today it is another round of baguettes! In the past I've had some ok ones and some disaster ones so I'm thrilled that these were spot on.

I had Alice return to normal and rush in there to pick the coconuts, the pineapples, the soy and black beans (and evolve a couple of plants while she was at it), while Smiler picked a bunch of their herbalism stuff (with a focus on stuff like the noxious elderberries and poison fireleaf I didn’t have before). Smiler then dusted Victor’s bees with mite treatment, fertilized their noxious elderberries so they could evolve them up to nice level, and headed upstairs to have a nice bath –

-->And Alice got sent to the kitchen to make some more food for the food stand, using her new appliances! :D Because if we’re going to have a food sale, we need to have food to sell! She’d already made a garden pizza last playsession while at the store, which was already in the stand – I thus had her make a fresh batch of dough in the stand mixer, then bake up some banana split waffles, a loaf of artful focaccia, some minty mocha cupcakes (in the oven! :D), and a pineapple pizza! Yes, I was thinking a bit about food that Smiler would probably like, as they were the one who was going to be running the stand – sometimes I regret that they’re a vampire who can’t eat regular food in this save, as I know any human Smilers would be all over banana split waffles and pineapple pizza. In another save, Smiler, I promise! I’ll fudge things a bit in my potential future Valicer In The Dark save! XD

-->While Alice was getting her cooking on, Victor and Smiler were keeping busy with the last of the farm chores (while the chickens were keeping busy with a fox – I gotta get some more livestock upgrade parts). Victor FINALLY finished the tending (and deactivated poor Elmer to stop the bot from constantly trying to weed a glitched plant) and got the initial batch of super-selling done, then left Smiler to finish off selling everything while he cleared out the cow shed (and once again dropped the results on the ground next to said cow shed – I just had him put the trash in his inventory for later recycling). Smiler got Gardening skill 9 from all the super-selling (and harvesting the lemon tree in the corner that had gotten skipped in all the super-sell batching), which pleased me greatly –

And then I realized “wait a minute. Isn’t it supposed to be New Skill Day? Where’s the holiday thing?” Concerned, I checked the calendar, and confirmed that it was indeed a holiday – but that I didn’t have the overlay for it in the corner of my screen. Uh-oh. That DEFINITELY seemed like a sign the save file was on its way out. I decided not to worry TOO much about it at the moment, as New Skill Day is just a pop-up holiday, and not a particularly important one, and instead Alice box up the final pizza, slapped all the food in the foot stand, and had Smiler grab said food stand and gather everyone up to bring them to the Brindleton Bay Pawspital –
