40’s and 45’s is a homage to where I was born and raised, Flint, MI. For me it recalls great memories of playing in bands at the Rusty Nail, the Capital Theater, and Local 432. It recalls memories of making lifelong friendships, hanging out at the Torch, The Loft, Hot Rocks, and Churchill’s. It also recalls memories of my friends and I drinking 40 oz. Strohs beers while singing along to 45 records, from which the title comes. It was a great time and I’ll never forget it. The Not Safe To Drink: Music For Flint Water Crisis Relief compilation album is out and our exclusive song "Sponge" is available on it.

Our contribution to this comp was written about the resilience of our community.

As KING 810 said, "We don't turn and run where I'm from."

Flint, Michigan is made up of some amazing people who, despite the odds, continue to pour themselves into making our home a great place.

This is not said to take away from the water crisis or any of the problems that we continuously face, but to feature the people who won't give up when faced with them.
