she has the oldest daughter mentality where she always needs to be StressedTM over something. even when she has nothing going on in life she will create an issue to be worried over. when she was younger this was hard for her to emotionally handle but she has gotten better at pretending she is sane over the years

this also led her to do med school. idk healer vic is something so personal for me. idk what exactly she’d be doing but i know it would be in the big buck areas. a dermatologist or a optometrist or a surgeon or something. she’s smart as hell.

very particular about presenting a good image for her family. she was the oldest weasley in the new generation and so she knew she had to present herself in a certain way, and she never thought she minded until she was suddenly 18 and having an identity crisis

furthermore, the rita skeeter incident with her and teddy nearly killed her. shes been through some traumatic shit but that was crossing the line

gets into so many fights with dominique because both of them are polar opposites and are jealous of each other for completely different reasons. dominique wishes she can fit into the mould like victoire so easily does, victoire wishes she could be as free and uncaring as dominique is. both don’t understand each other

HOWEVER victoire and dominique are the ultimate soulmates. it doesn’t matter how much they fight, they’re very close. dominique rants to her and sends her memes victoire can’t understand and victoire will still pay for dom’s meals when theyre out bcuz it doesn’t matter how old dominique is, she is still her little sister. and victoire retains every last piece of dom’s friendship group drama, and stalks them all on social media silently judging the shit out of them

very outwardly polite and nice to other people but always retains a sense of distance. she wants to be close to people but she doesn’t know how to build those connections— she’s very scared of being hurt or betrayed so she sticks with people she’s already known before her walls went up.

used to be a little dictator when her, dom, and louis played games around shell cottage. she would make all the rules and be very strict about following it all. dom and louis were useless at games without her, because they couldnt make rules where there were stakes and it wasn’t fun without them. yknow, older sibling shenanigans.

Any headcanons about Fleur? I feel she’s very underrated…

Fleur is underrated, it's true! For me, what makes her interesting to think about, though, are all the ways in which she's flawed, complex, and elusive as a character and also, frankly, a bit of a dickhead with some room to grow. In some fandom spaces, there's a tendency to sanctify Fleur (coming particularly from the anti-Weasley sides of the fandom), and portray her as a victim of horrible bullying that she never deserved, which I don't agree with. Do Molly, Hermione and Ginny cover themselves in glory in their initial approach to Fleur? Of course not. But for all her many strengths, Fleur gets off on the wrong foot with Bill's family in part because she can be a bit of a rude and inconsiderate houseguest, thoughtless in her remarks, and occasionally vain in ways that make sense but that do demand a bit of introspection and self-improvement.

I do think it's clear that Fleur's experience coming of age in a world that sexualised her from a young age was both formative and deeply harmful in ways I think she would have to unpack and unlearn as an adult. Patriarchy conditions Fleur's worldview: it also shapes how other female characters respond to her. Everyone's losing. Whenever I've written Fleur, I've tried to give her lines that portray her as someone disarmingly honest, rarely meaning to wound, but certainly a bit tactless and bearing the unexamined scars of a childhood and adolescence that sexualised her young, hardened her and made her feel like appearance and looks are a currency. In Orchards, it's the line about Fleur giving Ginny her an expensive-looking French conditioner for her birthday. (‘It will help with – how do you say - ah, split-ends' - like, kind to give Ginny a present, but comes off as patronising and a criticism of Ginny's appearance, especially to an already unimpressed and unforgiving audience). The bit I just put in Beasts is me trying to flag this sense I work with her of her as a character: ''You are very pretty, even if you do not try,’ Fleur had said, that afternoon. (Her sister-in-law always did like her compliments backhanded.)' ‘Boys will like your ’air, if you do it nicely. Remember, if you take care of your looks, zey will take care of you.’'

A only have a couple of headcanons for ya, none of which are very ground-breaking, forgive me!

I think of Fleur as a solitary person, with a strong sense of self and little interest in explaining her inner life to others. I think Bill and Fleur's relationship is the meeting of two similarly self-sufficient people who find a sort of calm together, but that isn't defined by emotional co-dependency.

I like to think Fleur moved back to England for work as an adult because the Triwizard Tournament was both emotionally and politically formative for her. The circumstances in which the tournament ended struck at her own strong sense of justice, but she also felt drawn to a place where she had been changed, in some way. I think there's something in going back to places that changed you but that you feel you have unfinished business with. Her crush on Bill was secondary to her pursuing that more elusive feeling, following up on a question mark

I like to think Fleur benefits a lot from her relationship with her sisters-in-law as an adult, albeit slowly and quietly. While I love the idea of her and Ginny being able to talk about why they clashed years later, I don't ever really imagine Fleur as being best mates with Ginny, but I think both come to a place of mutual respect, unspoken but deeply felt, and that they admire each other as parents a great deal. I think a more mature and reflective adult Fleur would be intensely sympathetic to the ways Ginny was almost certainly harassed and sexualised in the wizarding press as a figure in the public eye.

We know how Molly and Ginny talk down on her in the book a little, but I propose this:

Ginny actually was angry at Fleur and Bill. Ginny was angry at the couple because her and Gabrielle were dating in secret during the Yule ball. It was a singular time thing, and when they ‘parted’, they left as friends.

The two girls had found comfort in each others arms and Gabrielle had confessed to Ginny one night about how she was scared her sister might be taken away, that her sister would find a lover and Gabrielle wouldn’t be able to see her as often.

Beauxbatons made her the frontrunner for the Tri-Wizard tournament. Part Veela and a pureblood from a famous French Wizarding family. She's strong, smart, and has a pedigree to back her up.

Not to say Fleur doesn't value you, it's just that everyone who sees you compared to her, will see her as infinitely better than you.

Though she doesn't see it that way. You two are perfect. Solo and together. You two are on a level above everyone else—Gods, above mere mortals.

She sits with you all of the time, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. If you are able to share classes or time, she's glued at the hip to you.

And she'd never hurt you. Oh no, she lives to be with you. In a perfect world, nobody else would exist other than you two. Like the beings in the Garden of Eden, just the two of you and no one else.

But it isn't a perfect world. And Fleur has to get her hands dirty.

Certain classmates of yours don't see you like she does. And if they do it's even worse.

Fleur can't stand feeling jealous so if someone is taking too much of your time, they'll be persuaded into otherwise.

And if someone is being hurtful to you? Then they can kiss any comfort in this life goodbye. She's vicious, lethal, and not fully human. Fleur doesn't care what she has to do for it to just be the two of you.

And life gets better when you realize that.

Louis Weasley Headcanons!

He is Bill and Fleur's easiest baby by far! Literally an angel compared to his sisters.

Fleur didn't believe the Healers when they told her she was having a boy. She was certain it would be a girl because of her Veela blood. She didn't take into account the Weasley's track record.

He weighed six pounds and five ounces when he was born, so he was also the smallest of Bill and Fleur's kids.

Dominique is two when he's born and Vic is five.

Dom hates him. She was used to being the center of attention before Louis came along and definitely does not appreciate him stealing her limelight.

It takes her two months to makeup with him, but that's only after he throws up on Bill and makes her laugh.

His best memories are of running along the beach next to Shell Cottage and collecting seashells. His mum helps him, and they keep his collection in the shed in case one of his shells ends up being a crab.

He paints his shells and rearranges them in different patterns.

When both Vic and Dom were both gone to Hogwarts, he sometimes goes into work with Bill or Fleur. The goblins never approve even though Louis is always quiet.

He is immune to the whispered arguments that would happen in the kitchen late at night.

He is sorted into Hufflepuff, which comes as a surprise to no one. He is loyal, patient, and dedicated.

He is a photographer. He spends most of his time at Hogwarts taking pictures and developing them.

He's more fascinated by still art than the moving pictures that most wizards produce. He likes capturing a moment and studying it.

Six months after he graduates, Bill and Fleur give him Shell Cottage.

He uses the cottage to develop his photos and really create his first collection. It's his happy place and he loves it. He loves his parents even more for giving it to him.

He's closest with Roxanne out of all his cousins. They're both artists between her dancing and his photography. He has a whole collection that is nothing but stills of her dancing, but he won't publish it because she asks him not to.

He is bilingual, and loves language like his father. If he had time, he'd learn a third language, but he has too much going on between art and his family to really focus on it.

He looks the most like Fleur. He has the same facial structure and the same shade of blonde hair.

He's also the tallest of his siblings.

While he's close with his dad's parents, he's closer with his mum's.

He goes to France whenever his mum does, sometimes more, to visit them and lives in Paris for six months when he's working on his third collection.

By the time he produces his second collection, he's well known in the art community and has a gallery in London.

The best piece in his second collection is a distorted photo of Bill and Fleur fighting that he took when he was sixteen. It's distorted enough that you can't tell who is in the picture, but you can still see the emotions running through the photo. It's his most popular piece and moves most people to tears when they see it.

Bill and Fleur have no idea that photo is of them.

He's closer with Vic than he is with Dominique. Dom is a very scatterbrained and flighty while Vic and Louis are more grounded.

Loves his nieces and nephews, but doesn't want kids of his own.

After many failed relationships, he ends up marrying Gabe MacMillan. Gabe's not pushy and he's sweet, which is what Louis needs after people wanting to be with him only because he's a Weasley or only because he's a famous artist.

It's a small wedding, or as small as can be considering the Weasleys have expanded quite a bit.

He and Gabe have dinner with Louis' parents every week, and Fleur usually makes French dishes for them.

Bonus: Bill wanted to name him John in honor of Remus but Fleur ALWAYS won the name game, so instead they made it his middle name. Effortlessly gorgeous to an almost uncomfortable degree (is it the quarter veela in him? who knows). Has the signature Weasley freckles and used to be super self conscious about them. He's always had a lot of anxiety since childhood, suffering from insomnia, nightmares and sleep paralysis. A huge mama's boy. The most reserved out of his siblings as well as between he, Rox and James. He has a good relationship with both his sisters but has more in common with Dominique. Despite his generally quiet personality he has a BRUTAL sense of humor and is just as much of a chaotic figure as Roxanne and James. James' best friend (if you don't count Teddy).
