- got forced by piston hondo to wear sunscreen, he is thankful for that since the sun was scorching

- tried to protect joes sandcastle, failed miserably, Joe is still thankful

- playing beach volleyball with bull, don flamenco & aran ryan, uses his clones to get the ball back whenever it bounces away

- is the sand too hot for you & you forgot your slippers near the shore? No worries he'll get it for you

Don Flamenco

- used WAYYY too much sunscreen, out here looking like he got dipped in butter

- someone needs to stop him from ordering his 10th cocktail, sort of buzzed

- killing it while playing beach volleyball, bull is kinda concerned & but impressed

- victim of aran ryans watergun whether he likes it or not

- collecting sea shells & cool rocks for carmen : )

- tried surfing with Macho Man, almost drowned

Bear Hugger

- slightly burnt up & regrets not listening to hondo

- also slightly buzzed

- keeps doing cannonballs with King hippo, thinks its really fun

- trying to drift peacefully on his back but aran keeps annoying him

- tried to snorkel with disco but freaked out when seaweed touched his leg

Aran Ryan

-BURNT, out here looking like a tomato & screaming in pain, don keeps whacking him on the back with a cold spoon whenever he acts like a dick

- grabbed disco kids leg while he was snorkeling & made him have a heart attack for a few seconds before he got kicked in the face once he realized aran was there

- dragging Joe to sea when hes bored

- dunked his head in the cooler whenever he felt like he was gonna have a heat stroke

Bald Bull

- used some sunscreen, somehow didnt get burnt

- suprisingly good at beach volleyball, don flamenco & him are pretty terrific at beach volleyball

- helped when kaisers grill broke, labeled a lifesaver because of that

- Just swam around with soda popinski & sandman while drinking beer

- got some sea water in his beer, still drank it anyway

- accidentally snorted sea water somehow

- had a "slight" moment of panic when a fish brushed by his legs (heart attack)

Super Macho Man

- didnt have any problems with the sun & tanned

- surfing & killing it (yasss peepaw get it)

- orders the most he/him drinks at the bar

- tried to collect sea shells, aran stole them

- trying to hold his breath as long as possible

Chapter 1 (Love is in Mallorca series)

Pairing: Carlos Sainz x Fem!reader

Warnings: none I guess

Summary: Y/n goes to Mallorca intending to leave her life behind, at least for a while. Then she meets a mysterious guy who makes this trip, to say the least, unforgettable.

Mallorca was stunning, but a certain discomfort grew within me as the days passed. I found myself lost on an island whose beauty was undeniable, but whose language formed an insurmountable barrier.

Since I had arrived, it seemed that the fact that I only spoke English made me invisible. People looked at me in a hurry, or simply ignored my attempts at communication. Sometimes, I wondered if it was just my imagination or if it was really happening.

Tonight, after a long day of walking along the beaches, I decided I deserved a drink. The bar was crowded, full of laughter and conversations in Spanish. The smell of fresh seafood filled the air, and I approached the counter, trying not to seem out of place. I waited patiently for a while, watching as the bartenders moved from one customer to the next, ignoring me with an efficiency that almost seemed rehearsed.

I took a deep breath and approached the counter again.

“A gin and tonic, please?” I asked in English, my voice swallowed by the atmosphere.

The bartenders barely paid attention to me, glanced at me, and simply decided to ignore me.

I waited, hoping that somehow my order would be heard. I looked around, trying to decide whether it would be better to just give up, but before I could step away, I heard a deep, firm voice next to me, speaking in Spanish. I didn’t understand the words, but the tone was clear and authoritative, like someone used to being heard.

The bartender stopped what he was doing and quickly handed over what I had asked for. I turned, surprised, to face the owner of that voice.

He was tall, dark-haired, with slightly tousled hair, but in a purposefully relaxed way. His smile was easygoing, as if saving frustrated tourists was something he did every day.

“Here you go,” he said, with a soft accent, handing me the drink.

“Thank you,” I replied, accepting the glass. “I was beginning to think I was invisible.”

He laughed, a light and sincere sound, as if he understood exactly how I felt.

“It’s not that, but sometimes people here... can be a bit stubborn with those who don’t speak the language.”

I nodded, taking a sip of the drink that was finally in my hands. The refreshing taste of gin with lemon slid down my throat, bringing an immediate sense of relief.

“So, are you from here?” I asked, curious. “Your Spanish is perfect.”

“Thanks, and kind of. I live in Madrid, but my family has a house here in Mallorca. I always come here during summer holidays. And you, what brought you to the island?”

I looked at him, hesitating. He seemed so casual, so at ease, it was hard not to feel at ease as well.

“I actually just needed a break from my life. Something different.”

“You chose well. Mallorca is a perfect place to disconnect.”

He was right. The island was beautiful, and there was much more to explore than I could do on my own, especially with my limited Spanish. Maybe that’s what led me to accept when he suggested he’d show me a few places that, according to him, "no tourist guide would include."

“Shall we take a walk?” he asked, his eyes gleaming with a kind of enthusiasm that was impossible to ignore.

I agreed. After all, I had nothing to lose, and somehow, I felt like I could trust him. But I could also be completely wrong, and he could be a serial killer who would murder me and toss me into the sea.

But I was willing to take the risk.

We left the bar, walking through narrow streets lit by small lights hanging between old buildings. The night was warm and full of life. People laughed at outdoor restaurant tables, and the distant sound of flamenco music filled the air.

“You know, you're the first person who hasn’t tried to correct me or judge me for not speaking Spanish. I know it's annoying when tourists show up and don't even try to speak the language, but I didn't think I’d be completely ignored,” I commented as we walked.

“Sometimes it’s good to just listen and not judge, right?” He smiled, glancing around at the streets around us. “Speaking the language is important, but so is feeling welcomed, even without understanding everything.”

There was something different about walking with him, something that made the city seem more accessible, more inviting. He showed me a small square where there was a fountain with a soft, calming sound, and a local bakery that, according to him, made the best "ensaimada" on the island. Everything felt simpler by his side, no rush, no judgments.

“And you? What do you do for a living?” I asked, genuinely curious.

He smiled but didn’t answer directly, just shrugged.

“Ah, nothing too interesting. I have a pretty hectic life, but here I like to slow down and forget all about work.”

I respected his silence without pressing, and we continued to explore the city at night. He took me to a higher point, where the view of the city and the sea stretched out before us. The city lights reflected on the water, creating an almost surreal sight. I was speechless.

“Wow...” was all I could say.

He looked at me, smiling sideways.

“And they say Madrid has the best views in Spain.”

We stood there in silence for a few minutes, just absorbing the moment. I felt strangely comfortable next to him, as if he wasn’t a stranger I had just met, but someone I could share moments with without the need for explanations.

Finally, he looked at me again.

“If you want, I can show you more places tomorrow. But I promise I won’t take you where the tourists go.” I smiled, feeling a wave of gratitude. “I guarantee I’ll be the best tour guide you’ll ever meet.”

“I’d love that.” He nodded, satisfied.

“Perfect. See you tomorrow, then.”

“Deal.” I smiled.

“Give me your phone number.” He handed me his phone, and I typed it in, saving it as “bar girl.”

We said goodbye, and as I walked back to the hotel, I couldn’t stop thinking about how the night had taken such an unexpected turn. I still didn’t know his name. He hadn’t asked for mine, and somehow, that felt right. We weren’t strangers, but we weren’t acquaintances either. Just two people meeting on a warm night in Mallorca.

And maybe, just maybe, I was ready to find out more about him.

I shared this w/ deerling before she’d deactivated. I’m sososo happy for her! she will always be loved n missed! But, I never got to hear her thoughts! And I thought you might humor it too!

I’m not sure if you’re familiar w/ the song Imitadora by Romeo Santos? A week or so ago I was hyper-fixated on it n it made me think about law. Growing up when the Donquixote pirates would have galas and such celebrations, would he watch Rosi dance w/ partners and just praying on his downfall? He needed something, some type of material to tease & embarrass Rosi w/ to get his lick back. But honestly? the only thing he picked up from observing Rosi dance was the way he danced.

I’m not very familiar w/ the correct type of dance that should be associated w/ this song, and anyone please feel free to correct me if I’m wrong! But the most common one I’d found was bachata, which originated in the Dominican Republic. I know you’d already written something in your series for Bachata, but just hear me out!

Law, after watching Rosi dance during celebrations when he was younger, would have to had learn something and picked up the basics at the very least. Now, I raise you this food for thought. Would Law be a good partner? Would he be rusty? Or maybe just outright refuse and dismiss it? Would he be embarrassed? Or would nostalgia wash over him when you offer, take him by the hand and pull him towards the floor? A bit more willing w/ alcohol in his system. Hand on the small of your back, one knee slotted between your thighs your palm falling to the nape of his neck n fingers threaded through the soft wisps of baby hair a bit before his nape n finally falling into the music. Now! Would he experiment w/ all of the fancy dips and twirls he’d remember Rosi do? I like to think he’s more seasoned n cocky even going as far as trying something on the fly!

Hello my love! I have so many thoughts and fics written and coming up for this particular concept. I love the thoughts, 🪼 Anon!

1. Donquixote Rosinante can dance.

This man can absolutely dance. He dances Flamenco, Tango, Salsa, Bachata, Conga, Rumba, Cha Cha: anything that involves hips swinging, feathers flying, legs intertwining, and passion igniting. This is the only time he is absolutely not clumsy. He was also taught the marines waltz while in basic. Donquixote Doflamingo, however, can not. He thought it was a waste of time.

2. Imitadora Romeo Santos

I am not familiar with the song, but now that I've listened to it on repeat a few times, Rosinante dances Bachata to this song. Hips flush against yours, one hand on your lower back while the other is expanded to the side in the hopes you'd take it to spin. Always with a smile on his face, twirling between the rapid brush of drums on the snare, tapping his feet while dragging his toes. He loves it, and makes it known my whispering the lyrics without vocalising them.

3. Bachata

I love Bachata. When my host-sister came back to my country for a visit, she took us all out dancing Bachata on the beach - something that I would love to take up on the regular. It's sultry, romantic, playful, everything you want wrapped in one dance. I see Luffy, Ace and Sabo dancing Bachata - and Rosinante also excels at it.

4. Law and Dancing

Growing up in Flevance, Law's cultural dances would be something similar to the folk dances in Austria and Germany. There is no way he wouldn't grow up learning these dances with Lami. Watching his parents engage in social events, letting loose with their colleagues, some of his happier memories would be watching them in the warmth of each other's embrace and slowly swaying to a waltz. Hearing a 3/4 rhythm beat on the den-den shoots him back to that moment: his parents love for one another swelling his heart and having him yearn for a fragment of the past.

5. Rosinante and Law Dancing

Law would gruffly pout in the corner at these social events, far before Rosinante had bothered to pay him any mind. He hated the events, especially when Doflamingo ordered him to dance with Baby 5 as "an aspect of his training". Once they opened up to one another, baring Corazon's secret mission with the marines, Law paid far more attention to his guardian protector. Watching in earnest as he demonstrated his skills by engaging with partners.

6. Law past the time skip

This man wants to dance. He would never admit it to anyone, but he wants the opportunity to keep a part of his heritage alive and pass on the knowledge of his cultural dances to anyone willing to listen. After Dressrosa, he is far less pent up and full of wrath, and wants to express it through dance. He is so rusty, he forgets a few of the steps, and will need reminding.

7. Law and Sanji

Sanji knows some of these cultural dances. When the Supanova trio catch up and engage in social drinking, firstly: the Victoria Punk crew demonstrate some of their highland jigs, and teach them to Luffy. Luffy, in turn, teaches Killer how to Bachata. Given how large he is in comparison to Luffy - he would opt to teach "Traffy" in response. Law knows these dances, has seen these dances with Corazon, and actually enjoys relearning how to do this dance.

And to repay Luffy, he would offer to teach him a dance from Flevance.

Given how long it's been, he forgets a few steps and slips up with the spins: finding the follow position rather than the lead. With how poorly he seems to remember the steps, Sanji lets out a huff of exasperated cigarettes and opts to "cut in" for Luffy: immediately takes the lead position, and guides Law through the steps flawlessly. Law would become extremely overwhelmed and quite emotional afterwards, having to excuse himself as he takes a moment to remember what was lost to him. After paying his respects to his parents, Lami, and Corazon's memory - he would return and witness Franky attempting to impress Robin with a dance fit for the Cossacks.

8. Dancing with you

After the event with Sanji, you would go and ask the foreign captain if he was feeling alright. You, being the councilor and negotiator for the Straw Hats. Waving away your worries with a flick of his tattooed hand, the music would change into a reminder of the Bachata earlier. Offering to pay you back for checking in on him, he would lead you into a dance immigrating Luffy's earlier twirls and sways.

Demonstrating a particular motion Luffy didn't teach, a twirl that had your back to his chest, hips pressed flush against your ass, and knee slotted between your thighs in the same way Rosinante would catches your breath in your throat.

Feeling a little more bold with his control, he wouldn't let you leave the floor until he was completely satisfied with the way you moved with him. Having cheers from Luffy, and taunts from Kid, would spur him on to keep you in his arms and hum to the music. He remembers his friend, he remembers his parents, he remembers his sister, and he remembers his past through dance.

He also remembers how to flirt. And he enjoys making you blush while he's so close to you. Eyes half-lidded, lips spurring soft praise, speaking his native tongue with a combination of Corazon's to have you squeak out a "thank you" with a hot flush igniting your face.

I am incredibly grateful you shared these thoughts with deerling. She was such a joy to this fandom and I'm so glad she found her happiness. I have no idea how long this has been in my ask box, considering it had been not working properly for quite a while. Thank you for blessing me with some dance headcanons for the favorites. - Would flourish and live on that island forever

- Would re-establish Hippo society and would leave his career as a boxer behind

- His short term plan would be to locate himself using the stars, build a raft, and follow the northern star to civilization- his long term plan would be to build a shelter and find/purify clean water

- Would def take shelter in a cave since I don't think he'd be the building type of person

- Would make it out alive!

- Would befriend all of the animals on the island and use them to get back to civilization (Would absolutely ride a dolphin or an unrealistically huge manta ray back to NY and he'd act like it's normal)

Favorite country + city he visits: Los Angeles, United States. He loves the big city, and L.A. has a day-life and a night-life. NYC comes in second place for that same reason.

Favorite cultural cuisine and specific favorite food: It’s stated that he likes cherry pie, so he probably likes food from the U.K. (I looked it up and it said that cherry pie originated from there)

Favorite drink: Strawberry green tea with popping strawberry boba. Riddle’s taste for strawberry has rubbed off on him, and since L.A. has a lot of boba shops, he loves it.

🎶 MUSICAL NOTES — what type of music does your oc like? do they listen to music very often?

Cepheus- star music is his favorite. Ofc they differ from court to court.

In terms of human music I think if he were living during our times he’d be a MASSIVE fan of David Bowie and Prince.

Asha- I imagine she’d have a wide yet structured taste of music that she likes to listen to depending on her mood (the side of Rosa’s where she’s from exposes her to a lot of different music while she grew up like Flamenco, and a ton of music from all over the world that sort of developed her tastes and Rosas' musical identity.) As a child, Asha always participated in school plays especially musical theatres, so a lot of her tastes in music also stem from there (she tends to like dramatic or dynamic music). ((Her favorite instrument is the violin!)) In modern times, I imagine that she'd love to listen to anything ranging from classical music (like Swan Lake, Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata) to smooth jazz, to even Gorillaz (her favorite album is a tie between Demon Dayz and Plastic Beach- but I can see her leaning towards Demon Dayz).

💯 HUNDRED POINTS SYMBOL — share three random facts about your oc that others may not know.

Lol I'll give you six because I'm feeling strangely creative today.

Asha:

-Asha is a better fighter than you think she is. Growing up as the granddaughter of the captain of the guard, Asha's been practically training in self-defense for as long as she could remember. Sabino's taught her a variety of stuff- but the martial arts she uses is heavily based off of those that many warriors from Rosas' predecessors learned. She's pretty good at it (I honestly hope she'd be at this point, considering that she's been training in it since she was 5) but there's a reason why Safi, Nachos and Dario would not want to square up with Asha, despite all being bigger than her.

-Asha invented Nachos cookies! (This will probably be revealed in the story) So in one chapter Asha reveals that when she was sick the prince came to visit. She was devastated that she didn't meet him (yes- a younger Asha did have a crush on Ignacio) and when he came back, she stayed up all night to make Ignacio cookies. Long story short, he ended up spending the whole day annoying Dahlia and never got to try the cookies. (Asha then lost her crush on him)

-Asha hates astrology. No seriously- integrating magic with astronomy? It irks her to no end, which was probably why Magnifico tried to make her study it along side magic. When he found out that she had no potential for magic, he stopped trying to teach her. If you ever want to make an enemy out of Asha just tell her astrology > astronomy.

-Young Asha always dreamed of being a princess. Now when she was super little, it was admittedly for the castle, adventures and sparkly dresses. But as she grew older, it was not necessarily for the affluence, but simply because deep down, I think she saw it as a 'it's not the treasure, it's the quest sort of ordeal.' I believe that in this world, royalty has always had a sort of 'divine' connotation to it. You're given the right to rule via birthright through divine power- (Magnifico will talk about this in the upcoming chapter) so there are people born into this world to lead and the rest to follow.

Asha as a peasant girl didn't really buy into this idea- simply because she looked up to her father- a man void of all noble blood, but was crucial in helping Magnifico establish Rosas. Which, not to go on a tangent is another reason why his loss hurt Asha so much. Her father was pretty much an inspiration to Asha that you didn't need to have a rank, wealth, or magical powers to help and impact those around you, something which she aspires to do now, even though she's more or less assimilated the classist views into her self-perception.

But let's get back on track to the princess part, shall we? As a child Asha admired princesses, because of what they did to either become a princess or achieve a goal. They always defied the odds to save/inspire those who they loved or change things for the better.

I'm not sure if this dream persists- as the discovery that she couldn't do magic along with the passing of her grandmother/father definitely took a toll.

Asha's grandmother taught her how to sing! When Asha was little her grandmother would take her outside and teach her to sing!

Cepheus: (only 2 facts here because I really can't spoil anything)

-Contrary to popular opinion, Cepheus did not like Asha that much when they first met: Now I know you're probably thinking- wait but wasn't he super friendly and curious when meeting her? Yes. He was. But I'm talking about that night on the ship when after reuniting, Asha fell asleep. Cepheus is finally left alone with his thoughts and begins thinking about his situation/Asha herself. None of which I can really divulge because it's rather, ya know, spoiler-y. But I can confidently say that his opinions on her has changed.

But they're still complicated.

-Cepheus is on good terms with his nannies now. It took a lot of time to track them all down and apologize, but they're 'even' now.

-Cepheus says that annoying Asha is like six months of therapy for him.

not all Spanish culture is Andalusia, yes, it’s extremely rich in culture but the rest of Spain has also A LOT of culture. For instance, in Toledo (Castilla La Mancha) had for a long time 3 religions living together peacefully. Just Toledo has so much culture thanks to the 3 religions.

Not everything here is flamenco and bulls, in fact a lot of people are against bullfighting (I don’t have a really strong opinion on this bc they will be killed no matter what so we can eat them)

In Spain we don’t speak only one language, depending on where you are, the people speak Spanish and another language ex: in País vasco they speak Spanish and Euskera, which is older than the arrival of the Roman civilization
