When you have some hours traveling and spend it furiously writing a fix-it fic outline out of pure spite. The show tried to say ‘no open ending here’ I’ll be the judge of that.
Story deviates at the diner of Fives where the Five tallying apocalypses picks up on something different about this new Five.
Proceeds to follow him back/intervene and screws that entire suicide plan. (These two versions of Five exist for the duration of the story and frequently clash.)
Proceeds to take them back in time to the start of s4 and explains things like how Five got into the CIA (thanks to Abigail behind the scenes, Five didn’t question how that was so easy for him because of ego lol) and all the other things he should have realized.
Explains how Five started taking pills (like Viktor in s1/Reggie in s3) to deal with how lost he felt, thus explaining his entire extremely mellow s4 attitude. This leads to Viktor picking up/discovering this and confronting him.
Explores WHY Luther went into stripping because he was finally comfortable about his body, gives him back his depth.
Explores how Five tried to find Sloane with his connections but since that’s grown cold Diego steps in when Luther mentions it because screw you, Five and your fancy CIA bs (after possibly reuniting with Patch to help, because I said so)
Explores Ray leaving Allison after he started struggling with the new timeline and joined the Keepers, which alt!Five discovers and alerts Allison.
Klaus gets an entirely different journey once alt!Five gets involved.
Explains why the squid and gives Jennifer an actual character.
Some other bits are still getting worked but I’ve got it solved. Anyway this is happening. I’ll post the first snippet once I’ve got that down to gauge interest tyvm.

Okay, I'm having to delete some of the comments on my latest fic because it's delusional Buddies thinking what I wrote is actually about their ship, or even Tommy hate or something like that... I can handle that, but... wow. I hope all of you who've written fix-it fic for 8x06 don't get any of those strange comments. And if you do, just don't go for it, delete them and move on. It's not worth it.

Hi!
I really love your works!
Especially those related to the Voltron fandom.
Unfortunately the fandom is a bit stagnant but it's nice to see how you keep it active. Just for Voltron I wanted to ask, what would you think of a Canon au where Lance is possessed by an alien god and the team has to save him, and in the process face the fact that they treated him poorly and were a mediocre team?
Aw, well thank you ♥ It's definitely a pretty dead fandom these days, but doing my best to at least finish posting Here and wrapping up that trilogy on AO3 :)
To your question, I will admit that I don't ever envision or write the team as ever purposefully treating Lance poorly as I don't think they are like that. I think they are human (or Altean or part-Galran ;p) and like all of us sometimes we can get so wrapped up in our own problems or concerns or even our own past experiences that we can inadvertently hurt someone we care about through our actions (or inactions). So that would not be a story I personally could write or design as it goes against how I view the characters.
That said, I've explored in a few of my stories elements of where members of the team have unintentionally hurt Lance. I think it's very reasonable to hurt someone you care about like that in the short-term (with the exception to this being Kuron!Shiro whose actions can hurt in longer term because he's not quite himself) when there are outside factors and even internal ones that can skew your perception of the situation and how it might affect another.
If you're interested, a few of those off the top of my head are:
Quiet Your Pain, Suffer in Silence
Summary: Lance has never liked the quiet and he likes it even less on this big, empty castle far away from home. He tries to fill it with stories and laughter so it doesn't feel quite as lonely.
But lately whenever Lance opens his mouth all he seems to do is upset people, annoy people and now… now he’s hurt them too. So there’s only one solution.
He just won’t ever talk again.
Icy Notes: This one is probably the most 'team hurts Lance' story on the list as everyone (save my sunshine boys Hunk and Coran) do indeed hurt Lance by their words and actions. They all realize though in the end what hurt they caused (thanks, Coran!) and resolve it.
The Poison of Deceit
Summary: This diplomatic mission is not going the way Lance had hoped. The diplomacy part on behalf of Voltron is going fantastic and Lance doesn’t think he’d be remiss in saying he had a large hand in that. But the whole impress Shiro bit is an epic fail as Shiro doesn’t seem to notice his efforts at all and it’s only worse with Keith showing him up at nearly every turn. The aliens they’re working on the alliance though have noticed his efforts. But as Lance stands here now, Shiro and Keith’s lives along with a vial of poison in his hands, he isn’t so certain that was a good thing.
Icy Notes: This one might be the closest take to your comment about the alien God in the sense that an outside party is also involved. This one is just focused on Lance, Shiro and Keith so not the whole team, but those two do get a very hard lesson in what it means to be a good friend and is definitely going to stick with them.
Feast
Summary: Lance is well aware he's the weak link on Team Voltron. He knows he's not the brightest. But he's not stupid. And he's always thought that even despite his shortcomings he had not just a place with Voltron, but friends who would look out for him just as he would do for them.
But that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. While there's no knife to stab him in the back, the ones his friends wield with their cruel, heartless words cuts just as deep. And by the time Lance realizes that something is wrong, that these people are not his friends, it's too late.
The feast has begun.
Icy Notes: This story has a lot of other plot points other than just team treating Lance poorly, although it is the most literal interpretation of the team hurting Lance (legit torturing him) even if it's not quite them... But it explores the show post Game Show and how those actions made Lance feel and again, unable to confide in his team and feeling like no one values him.
Worth(less) (please note this one is rated M!)
Summary: On their journey to Earth, Voltron stops at a planet for supplies and finds that its inhabitants are not only incredibly generous but powerful and would make strong allies in their upcoming fight. In order to secure the alliance, the king assigns a member of his council to observe each Paladin and judge their worth.
Lance is delighted to find out his evaluator is the king’s own son, Prince Barin, who is a formidable fighter and pilot, and he’s determined to prove himself worthy and make Voltron proud, especially following the horrible game show experience with Bob.
Except Lance discovers that the prince isn’t interested in evaluating his worth as a Paladin; he's just interested in his body. And for the sake of the universe… Lance knows what he has to do.
Icy Notes: Like Feast above, there's a lot of other plot at play here and definitely heed warnings if you read it, but a large part of said plot is Lance's reactions and feelings from the Game Show where he felt like the team didn't care about him and so he's unable to trust them now. Horrible consequences for thinking so little of himself and unable to go to the team for support, but comfort and resolution at the end.

Chapter Twenty-Seven: Waking Up with Porridge
When Luke drifted into the Force after he faced Kylo Ren, he thought perhaps, finally, he was done with suffering and loneliness and so much loss. Instead, he wakes up in the body of his eight-year-old self with a haunting whisper vibrating in his memory:
One more chance, little sun, you deserve one more chance.

Supergirl Series Finale Fix-It Recs (karamel edition)
I think we're all in agreement. That finale sucked ass. Luckily, amazing fic writers are up to the challenge! So in no particular order...
1.
Number order aside, this might be my favorite out of all of them. It's just so beautiful, the language and the way the characters interact. And @handlewithkara does such an incredible job at Mon-El's POV, oh my god.
2.
This one follows canon a lot more closely, but @raisedbyfandomwolves managed to make it make actual sense, which is an impressive feat on its own. Again, love me some well-written Mon POV :)
3.
Not particularly connected to the series finale, but it's a fix-it nonetheless and too amazing not to include. I love all the different alternate universes @facepalming-since-chernobyl gave us a sample of, interactions between our fav characters spanning from an old married couple to secret lovers to reluctant spouses to people who will never meet but impact each other's lives regardless. It's just... *chef's kiss*
4.
Unlike the others, this one changes nothing about the actual series finale but takes place after it, where the consequences of Kara's reveal are very real and cost her everything. Heartbreaking, and then heartfixing at the end. Totally worth it, highly recommend.
5.
Yeah, this is me selfishly promoting my own fic. 😅 Whatever, I think it's cute and worth a read if you're up for it <3
I'd love to hear what awesome fix-its you've read! Please reblog with your own additions 🥰

I just had a supper angsty idea.
A story that includes a scene of two characters talking about fix it fics and why people write them. (The characters can also be oppisites / rivals)
Then, later in the series, they get stuck together in some possible life ending situations (such as a collapsed building or cave being flooded with no way out that they can see) and one of the character speaks up.
"I think I understand why people write fix-it fics now.."
"Well, what is it?"
"I think it's because they cared for them so much that even if they were fictional, they felt like they deserved to be happy and decided to make a story where they get their happy ending"
"Huh.."
...
"Do you think there's people who would do that for us?"
The first character leans their head on the second ones shoulder
"I hope so.."
Anyways yeah, feel free to take this and run away with it. Use it for any heartbreaking scenarios you want :)

That scene still gives me watery smiles when i think about it, I love Eccleston's doctor for that!
Also, thank you to all of you, amazing writers, who grace the mere mortals that we are with your divine spark of alternate paths and better, brighter, happier (sometimes easier, but not always) stories for our beloved characters.
And thank you too to those who try other things, explore darker paths, make us suffer along with the characters we want to cherish, destroy us ever so softly with your gilded words. Sometimes it feels good to die a little.

[ID: "I could not write that story myself. Not that I have no hope of Susan's ever getting to Aslan's country; but because I have the feeling that the story of her journey would be longer and more like a grown-up novel than I wanted to write. But I may be mistaken. Why not try it yourself?" Lewis in a letter to a young reader -- The Collected Letters of C. S. Lewis Vol3: Narnia, Cambridge and Joy /ID]
Even C.S. Lewis did not like the Problem of Susan! I was outraged by her fate as I identified with her as an older sister and not a Lucy. But I would and have read some great Susan Pevensie fix-it fics, here are two:
Yearly Reminder that C.S Lewis encouraged his fans to write fanfiction about Susan Pevensie becoming a friend to Narnia and reuniting with her family once again.
Literally inviting his fans to write Susan’s adult, angsty character development with a happy ending.
Do your duty fans. Write that fanfiction.

squinting at the 'fix it fic' tag on any given story on Ao3, trying to discern if it's intended in the sense of:
I genuinely think the story had bad writing and I am taking my toolbox and improving it [and i the reader agree]
I genuinely think the story had bad writing and I am taking my toolbox and improving it [and i the reader disagree]
The story's ending was Tragic and I Respect that but also i just want to read about my faves having some kind of joy and fulfilment okay?
The story's ending was Tragic and I do Not Respect That please God Damnit Let Them Be Happy
We Are Literally Fixing The Canon With The Application of Time Travel or Reality Warping or some other Wild Plot Device
I am going to fix one obscure detail or plot element that 95% of the fandom has never thought about in their life
(because these are all extremely different vibes)

let me drown
you meet qimir for a morning swim (qimir x fem!reader)... because i couldn't be normal about that scene.
warnings: 18+, minors and ageless blogs dni, an ode to manny jacinto's collarbones and also his shoulders and arms, slightly painful sex (but like... in a hot and consensual way), possessiveness, pwp basically (wc: 800+)
Droplets of water pool in the hollow of his collarbone, running down his broad shoulders in rivulets, shimmering in the morning sun like jewels, as Qimir cuts through the water. His muscled arms effortlessly slice into the still surface, sending ripples in every direction.
He looks ethereal, swimming in the cerulean pool. A long forgotten sea god, waiting to hook you by the ankle and drag you below the surface, drown you and breathe new life into you at the bottom of the sea.
It's beautiful and frightening in equal measures.
You wait on the shore, seawater lapping at your ankles and bare feet, arms around your knees, ignoring the puddling water that's soaking through your bottoms.
You wait for him to notice you there.
He doesn't keep you waiting – or maybe, Qimir sensed your presence from the moment you'd stepped onto the shore, from the moment your eyes had opened in the cave and looked for him, finding him gone.
A suspicion that's confirmed when Qimir lifts his gaze, unsurprised, sweeping escaping strands of damp hair from his face, and calls out softly, "Aren't you going to join me?"
His voice. You love his voice, as smooth as the surface of the water lapping at his strong shoulders, as the salt-licked rocks on the shore and the cliffs, as the weather-beaten pebbles that dig into your soles as you stand.
You undo the robe in a smooth motion and let it fall from your shoulders, baring yourself to him in the morning light, and Qimir doesn't look away.
He catches his lip between his teeth, dragging his gaze down your naked form, drinking you in with a kind of possessiveness that feels heretical; coveting you without so much as laying a finger on you, owning you with his dark eyes.
You wade in, and Qimir drifts toward you, moving silently and swiftly, predator-like.
An uneven rock catches on your foot under the surface, sending you forward. You tumble into him with a soft curse, and Qimir catches your arms with wet hands, steadying you, guiding your hands to his shoulders.
Flexing your fingers is almost an instinct, searching for a hold, like scaling a cliff, digging in to the muscles, and Qimir shudders, long lashes brushes against his cheeks, inclining his head to meet your gaze.
"Careful," Qimir cautions, soft and honeyed, a kind of music, and you don't know if Qimir means to be careful with the rocks or with your wandering hands.
You gamble on the former and let them wander further, moving over him, mapping him like an uncharted planet. One of your arms slips around his neck, giving him your weight, and Qimir's hand slips under your knee to catch you.
His hand is rough, guiding your leg around his hip, finding a balance.
He is pressed up against you now, cock hardening against your stomach. An involuntary gasp escapes from your mouth, and Qimir nips at the sound, sucking at your lip, beads of seawater dripping from his mouth into yours.
"Careful," Qimir repeats, only this time, it sounds like a question.
Should I be careful? Do you want me to be?
You shake your head slowly, a fine mist of salt water blowing in from the sea, coating your lashes, and Qimir's lips part in a half smile, pleased.
He's not careful. Careful is gentle caresses and the press of his mouth between your legs, warming you from the inside out, drinking from you like a nectar.
This isn't careful.
He doesn't get you ready, doesn't warm your cunt with his fingers, doesn't press you open in increments. He invites your legs around his hips, grasping at your ass with one hand for leverage, and pushes into you in one long and interrupted stroke that knocks the breath from your lungs, knocks your bones from your body.
You press your face into his shoulder, biting down with a whimper, probably leaving marks. That's okay. He likes marks, likes the feeling of your nails dragged down his back.
You're at war with yourself, split in the same way that Qimir is splitting you in half with his cock; a need to squirm away from the overpowering sensation; a need to invite him deeper, harder, faster.
He makes a soothing– borderline mocking – sound against your cheek and strokes your hair back from your wet cheeks; and holds you there, pinned open for him, fluttering and adjusting to the size of his cock.
"Oh? How does it feel?" Qimir asks, still stroking your cheeks.
"Good."
He smiles and lifts your chin with his knuckles and drinks a salt water kiss from your lips. "Good. You're ready for more."
It's not a question.
Seawater runs down your stinging cheeks, sensitive from the stubble on his carved jawline, mixing with the moisture that streams from the corners of your eyes as Qimir finally moves inside of you, dragging his cock out and pushing back in with a sweet and lethal slowness that borders on painful, so controlled; reaching inside and unraveling you from a place so deep that no one else could ever hope to uncover it; no one but him.
He likes it that way. Just him.
