Went to the doctor for my annual physical on Monday morning and I kid you not, almost burst into tears when I saw the number on the scale. I’ve done a pretty good job of not letting that number ever define me but I’m now realizing I allowed that to be an excuse to not take care of my body.
Between the nurse checking my vitals and my doctor finally coming into the room (about 15 minutes), I bought @fitnika’s Holiday Mini Challenge.
I want to see change in my body, and I’m going to make it happen.

Back and Bicep day! 💪🏻 ❣️dead lifts bonus I was able to add additional weight to the bar ❣️back extensions with a 3 sec. negative i has trouble keeping my butt in the seat so I had to reduce weight. I think that helped ❣️TRX bodyweight pull ups these are hell 🙃🙃 ❣️lat pull downs with SS DB bicep curls my biceps did not like these ❣️cable rows SS cable curls hello difficult ❣️15 minutes of cardio.
This is day four following program. I thought I could insert some of my marathon training into this program too on rest days but I’ve been so sore that it just wasn’t going to happened. I’ll try during week two or maybe over the weekend. I’ve been able to squeeze in a few miles though this week!

Changes
In honor of @crushfit supp launch, I have decided to commit 100% to them. Crush60 has shown me results soooo fast I'm going to stick with it everyday in the gym. And I'm switching my circuit workouts back to GO! I started using bbg a few months ago to use at home, and as much as I love it...I'd rather have my focus with this fam. And I honestly think GO! Is just as hard. No joke. I think I stopped GO! Because it was hard...lol. But I'm determined now. LETS GO FAM. Oh and I bought like 90% of Crush's gear so I'll be repping them most days anyway. I CANNOT wait for those supplements to come in. I haven't tried them yet and already bought both flavors of GO! And yolo. It's what you do for a company you love and support 💙

So my first experience at the Arnold in Columbus, Ohio was amazing. We left Boone, NC at around 12:45 in the afternoon and started on the 6 hour drive to Columbus. My girlfriend and my future roommate Hunter came along for the trip. The scenery along the route made me realize how beautiful the eastern United States is compared to where I used to live in Minnesota. Around 7:15 pm we made it to Ohio State University and caught a Buckeye hockey game. It was fun being right at ice level but they lost to Michigan State! (Insert eye roll here). After the game we got to the hotel and settled in for the night. I'm not gonna lie, I had trouble sleeping because I was so damn excited for what I knew was coming the next day. Promptly at 6:30 am I woke up, got in the shower, brushed my teeth and got ready for the day. Then I woke up everyone else and they got ready, as well. We grabbed a quick breakfast at the hotel and made our way to the Columbus Convention Center. I can't really explain what I felt walking into the Expo floor. I felt like a kid seeing the candy store for the first time. Honestly, I felt really overwhelmed. The amount of people there right when they opened was more than I would have expected and I knew that there would only be more as the day progressed. The first day (Saturday) we went around to the booths and picked up all the free stuff we could get our hands on (as any person would have). I was able to meet Mat Fraser, Rich Froning, Katrin Davidsdottir, and Josh Bridges, at the Rogue booth (and Margaux Alvarez, Cole Sager, Dan Bailey, Matt Chan). As the day went on I met 3x Mr. Olympia, Jeremy Buendia. The highlight of the day was meeting Aubrey and Nika (Aubernutter and FitNika) randomly walking through the expo. I'm a really introverted person so I don't talk a whole lot but I was able to get a video of them saying hi to my friend Caitlyn who freaked out when she watched the video. I've followed Aubrey for a few years now and she's one of the biggest inspirations. As weird as that might sound, I found myself laughing at her videos and snapchats when I first moved to North Carolina after the everything good in my life got ripped away from me. Anyways, enough with the sappy shit, after the expo I took my girlfriend and Hunter to Raising Cane's for the first time and I think they both fell in love with the chicken fingers. There was only one Raising Cane's in Minnesota but I would drive an hour to eat there when I was living in Rochester. Sunday, the last day of the expo, felt like it was going to be an eternity because I was NOT looking forward to the 6 hour drive home after being on our feet all day. We waited in line to meet Christian Guzman for almost two hours and it was well worth the wait. Christian was by far one of the friendliest and welcoming personalities we met that weekend. He took the time to ask where I went to school, how long the drive was, and personal questions about myself. I was surprised at how nice this guy actually was. So fast forward a few hours, we ended up getting kicked out of Steve Cook's meet and greet line because he had a strict schedule and was going to leave before we got to the front of the line. MAJOR BUMMER. But I suppose it wasn't all terrible because I got to meet Taylor Chamberlain. The main reason I wanted to go was to meet the Live Fit crew. I can't remember a whole lot of the interactions I had because I was so star struck meeting them. But I do remember talk to Nick Dompierre for a few minutes, reminiscing on how I used to watch his video parts before I would go out and skateboard during my high school days. But the atmosphere at Live Fit was amazing compared to any of the other booths we visited. Hey genuinely enjoyed what they were doing and it definitely showed. As we walked out of the convention center, we all decided that we would be back in 2018. The drive home sucked and I didn't get into bed until 3 am and had morning classes on Monday but I'll deal with being tired in exchange for that amazing experience.

UPDATE ~ WEEK 1
So I’m about 1 week into consistently working out with @crushfit and there are some interesting things to note.
1.) I upped my carbs based on the macros given to me with the Crush at Home guide. I was terrified at first. Trust me, I’m the first to admit I don’t have the healthiest relationship with food. But with a lot of reassurance from the Crush Community on FB I followed through. And let me tell you. I FEEL AMAZING. So much more energy. I’m concentrated at work. I’m not hangry anymore. Lol but really this was a good check for my mental health.
2.) My body is more sore than ever before and I love it. I’ve been doing Crush60 WITH Go! I know, I have a death wish. But Go! Helps me get a quick, but hard, cardio circuit in at home before the gym. Then I head to the gym and can concentrate 100% on lifting with Crush60. My body is changing so fast too. I can feel my abs forming! You can’t see them yet but I can definitely feel them. They’ll come out sooner or later. Lol. But also ALL of my muscle are just popping out. And I know this is in part from the carbs but I feel strong. I’m actually starting to get a small bicep cap. On my way to Aubrey’s arms!
3.) I’ve never sweat so damn much than with Crush’s pre-workout! Today I only did day 6 of Go! For my workout and I was DRENCHED and dripping in sweat. I usually sweat with Go! In general because those workouts are not easy, but not nearly as much as with the pre. Also, it’s a very clean energy. I don’t get jittery, but a very smooth hyper feeling. Haha if that makes any sense. Like I realize I don’t sit still in between reps. But it’s not a jittery feeling. It’s more I just want to go go go. And the flavors are perfect and delicious and addicting.
Thanks again team! I can’t wait to see what else my body and mind can do with Crush!

I wish so much that I could be happy with how I look but I am struggling so much right now. I struggle with compulsive eating and binge eating. I am not ready to declare it a full out eating disorder (me being in denial.) I see my goals and what I want and I will be SO GOOD for like 3 weeks and then I am completely thrown off and eat EVERYTHING and lose all my progress. It is so frustrating because I work so hard in the gym (I am muscular and have good definition but I am holding fat where I desperately want to get rid of it) but I am positively addicted to food.
Its the worst when I am in a buffet/potluck style situation I will literally eat myself sick. I have done it so many times where I will stuff myself so hard and fast to the point where I uncontrollably throw up. This is not balanced, this is not normal. The weeks that I go eating really well I feel SO GOOD. Why can I not retain that feeling? Why am I so freaking addicted to food.
I know I have literally 0 followers and it is highly likely this is just me putting my thoughts out into the universe but if you are like me and you are reading this, how do you push through your crashes? What advice do you have? I just need a sounding board because mental health is not something I really feel comfortable talking about in my social circles and I could really use a mentor or a helping hand.

I’m on week 3 of FitNika’s Fall Challenge and I know that while I’ve stuck to my nutrition the whole time, I had a rough first two weeks of getting into the workouts.
I’m disappointed that I’m not seeing better results but the only person I have to blame is myself.
If you want something you have to work for it, and if I want to start seeing changes I have to start working harder.
I am 4 pounds down between photos but I feel like you can’t even tell 😭
