Had to take a break for a few days after Marineford! I was emotionally exhausted after all that... But now I'm back, and I'm so excited to see all my fav characters. [ I watched up to episode 516 before my break.]

When ussops eyes do this thing

Absolutely peak adore this he needs to do it more often

And not just the eyes but the way the fight was formatted too!!

What made this fight interesting is that unlike normal ussop fights when we can tell his confidence is fake and we get to see his internal thoughts which are his massive fears and negative outlook on himself, in this fight we didn't get to see that. I have no doubt ussop was just as scared and cowardly in his mind during the luffy versus ussop fight, but we didn't get to see his thoughts, only his lies. Or rather his true lies. In this fight not only do we see ussops full potential, but we also see ussop from the enemy's perspective. Not knowing wheather his lies are true or not. His imposter syndrome is the biggest thing that makes him weak, and when he overcomes that, hes one of the best strawhats to date. Ussop you absolute goat I adore you

Catching up on the Fishman Island log and Chopper's following the imposters completely 100% believing that they are his friends and is confused why they aren't talking to him even though the fake Chopper is *right there* and once again I have never felt more seen in my whole faceblind life.

Sanji and Zoro were roaming around together, sanji got distracted and lost zoro, he found him again but now they're fighting.. who would've thought?

Okay someone explain to me how an entire island can not decipher that fake straw hats are fake??? Literally everyone has access to their bounty posters.. so what?? Everyone is dumb?? Civilians and navy both? Children, adults old people? This shit is so funny but also perplexing

Ussop and Chopper going crazy over franky is the best thing that has happened in many episodes😂

Awweee brook!!! This whole scene was great! But every time one of the crew states that luffy will be the pirate king I get so happy. It's just the way they say it.. like they know it's a fact and nothing else is acceptable. Love it!!!

It's really interesting how the coating works.. i get so excited by all the new things i see like the transponder snails, vivre cards, sky islands and now this.. really excited to see fishman island!!

the first episode of the fishman island remake looks promising, the animation isn’t spectacular, but that’s to be expected. i’m not sure how reworked the scenes were, whether it’s just new compositing, redrawing the same stuff, or completely creating new scenes, but they do look very similar to the old stuff. its definitely to be expected, the whole reason they are on hiatus is to focus on production quality and if they spend a bunch of time making the remake have the same quality as the current stuff, they won’t be able to actually improve anything. the compositing looks decent, but i don’t think it compares to wano or egghead compositing. the textures are overbearing and the lighting looks a bit amateur, but basically anything is better than pre wano one piece compositing. i was hoping the sound effects would be receiving their upgrade for this remake too, not just the original anime, but it’s okay.

so far my expectations are being met, my only hope is that they at least do some upgraded animation for the more important scenes later on instead of just copying the original. i’m fine with just a simple remaster of most scenes, but i think some of the most important ones deserve to get all new animation.
