And not just the eyes but the way the fight was formatted too!!

What made this fight interesting is that unlike normal ussop fights when we can tell his confidence is fake and we get to see his internal thoughts which are his massive fears and negative outlook on himself, in this fight we didn't get to see that. I have no doubt ussop was just as scared and cowardly in his mind during the luffy versus ussop fight, but we didn't get to see his thoughts, only his lies. Or rather his true lies. In this fight not only do we see ussops full potential, but we also see ussop from the enemy's perspective. Not knowing wheather his lies are true or not. His imposter syndrome is the biggest thing that makes him weak, and when he overcomes that, hes one of the best strawhats to date. Ussop you absolute goat I adore you

i’d been debating on whether or not to make merry a goat or a dog ! goats are so cute !! but as of right now merry is a old barbet that belonged to usopp’s mom before him, retired from service dog duties. my thought process was like, the ships help their crew right ? translating that into the modern world, with the disabilities i think some of them would have, i could make them service animals. also i love ur idea that is so good WAGH

the need for mobility aids depends on the severity 🤔 i imagine luffy’s symptoms are sporadic, his pots symptoms even more so. some days he can move much more and better than others. i think he could wear braces/compression garments to provide stability and less injury. ring splints he may use just because of how much he likes to use his hands while forgetting that sometimes it can hurt (plus they also help with stability in general). helps that he thinks they look cool ! 🙂‍↕️

symptoms fluctuate, so mobility aids aren’t always needed, but it’s possible luffy could have one 🤔 it also helps that he loves to go out, it keeps his muscles strong, he just often has to be reminded not to overdo it. a wheelchair could possibly be used for worse days, when he’s feeling more fatigued or pained ? like situationally. still not positive on that one yet, i’ll have to look into it more 🙂‍↔️

but luffy would definitely have his friends push him faster than they should probably be going on a wheelchair LMFAO

I just we wanted to say that I love your content and everything that you do. It’s a joy to see your posts and read how you expand everyone’s posts.

I wanted to know if you were willing to write like One Piece x Beast Boy Reader. It would be funny to see how Strawhats interact with someone who can transform into any animal they see. Luffy, Ussop, and maybe Chopper would be so amazed and the most cheerful!

-When they first met you- they didn’t really know what do think of you, mainly due to your green skin. However, you and Luffy have very similar personalities, always cheerful and happy- he would instantly like you and demand you join his crew, without even knowing you or your abilities.

-You were polite, having good manners when Sanji and Nami yelled at their idiot captain for not even knowing who you were, just sitting there until they were finished.

-You beamed brightly, telling them your name before you stood back, “And as far as what I can do~~” you morphed into a goat, then a lion, then a turtle before turning back to yourself, “I can change into any animal!”

-Usopp, Chopper, and Luffy had sparkles for eyes, cheering loudly for you, telling you how cool your ability was, which made you beam brightly.

-Robin was curious, asking if it was a Devil Fruit ability and you shook your head, “No I’ve been able to do this for as long as I can remember- and I can swim since I can turn into aquatic animals!”

-Franky and Brook joined the other three, calling out different animals which you changed into easily, showing off which made them all cheer while Nami was shaking her head, a bit exasperated, but she could see the benefit of having someone like you as you could get into places easily, like looking for information.

-Sanji was quick to like you as you had table manners, especially compared to Luffy, and you always offered to help with the dishes, something he did appreciate.

-Zoro was a bit standoffish with you, not really knowing what to make of you, until he asked you to turn into a rhino and used you as a lifting weight, much to your surprise, but you were happy to help!

-Jinbei enjoyed your youthful personality, your joy- it was warming to him, and he enjoyed having someone he could go swimming with, at least without equipment and it was astounding to see how many animals you could turn into.

-You loved your crew, they didn’t treat you like a freak, like others in your life, who thought you were weird for your green skin, not knowing your story or why you were even like this- they made you feel like you belonged and that’s all that mattered to you!

….might have forgotten I had this WIP comic on my desktop I need to finish of Monkey Luffy finding an old baby photo of him and cat Nami expressing surprise and awe at how cute it is — followed by Sanji goat kicking luffy out of the way to show Nami how cute HE was as a kid (haha get it), her reacting positively, Zoro walking in and deciding that Sanji can’t be better at him in anything so smugly flashing HIS baby photo (Nami and Luffy BOTH reacting even MORE positively to the closed eyes spring green Tiger Cub) — Sanji rolls his eyes and Franky interrupts wanting to see what’s going on (Sanji and Zoro now both embarrassed by the older male commenting on how cute they both were in their photos) before showing off HIS baby photo of baby rhino play-head-butting adolescent elephant iceberg — everyone reacting positively, with siblings now brought up Nami gloating about how cute HER baby picture of sister kittens playing is — Luffy and Franky reacting well, Sanji OVERREACTING, Zoro mumbling under his breath about how he was still the cuter kitten — Robin joins in (someone invites her idk Franky or Nami) big eye fluffy baby owl photo — everyone big “AWWWW” reaction. Chopper joins in, someone points out that chopper is STILL a baby so it’s not the same, chopper insists it is and shows a photo that the viewer can’t see but the rest of the crew can, they are all CRYING at how unbelievably cute it is. Luffy calls Ussop over and insists HE shares a photo, Ussop resists but reluctantly shares one. Weird freaky nearly-bald baby anteater. Awkward silence from everyone. Maybe luffy laughs about how bad it is.

So I have just finished watching the live action One Piece.

Not bad. I'll give my thoughts below. Spoilers, sort of.

So we start with Romance Dawn

So to just give how much I know about One Piece. I read the manga and have read all the parts of the East Blue saga and safe to say, Arlong Park and Baratie were my favorite arcs ever. Especially, Arlong Park.

So with that said, Romance Dawn. Luffy meets with Koby who saves Koby from Alvida. That's how it went but I did wonder how they were going to get Alvida thin as shown in the anime and manga. I actually thought that it might've caused an uproar with the woke crowd but in the end, she's still fat and did team up with Buggy in the end, which happened. Fun.

I don't have much to say. This was the beginning. It's to test the waters. And if you like what you see then yeah, you are in for a ride.

Next is:

The Man in the Straw Hat

Buggy the Clown. One of the first major enemies that appeared in One Piece. Let me tell you, the actor who played Buggy gave it his all and he is one of the best things that happened. Fantastic work by the actor. Kudos to him!

The crew gets captured by Buggy and all that. A lot got cut out like Zoro having this sword fight or some such. Memory is a little hazy but I am making this after binging the show so do forgive. Nothing really bad happened here. Buggy is just very menacing. He's like Joker. He's exactly like Joker.

Moving on, we got:

Oh god, Usopp. Ussop's arc, man! Tell No Tales is about Usopp and fuck me if it wasn't the worst shit I've seen. This kind of crap took too long. It shat on a lot of Ussop's character. He is a shot, a marksman and the fact that he ain't got his friends nor the epic showdown between Kuro and his crew against the Straw Hats is just damn disappointing. A lot was cut out. This will feel like a test for some because it gets boring to slog through this crap. This arc could've been done better but goddamn. This was a memorable arc from the manga but this was butchered in love action.

Next we have a continuation of the Ussop arc but with Sanji's backstory now. It's still as insufferable as the last episode but Sanji's past is not bad. Could've been done better. All I can say. Epic fight between Sanji and the other members of the staff that was with Kuro who were not in the anime nor manga I believe. So yeah.

Next up Baratie. Holy shit. This was it. The Sanji arc. I didn't really get my hopes up but two things were done here that made me consider this as the best live action anime adaptation. Sanji's backstory and Sanji's goodbye.

Suffice to say, both were done so well, so damn well that I cried. I cried when I read the scene in the manga and now I cried when I saw it in live action. My god. It's so wonderful.

I do see some folks comment that Sanji should've bowed to Zeff when he left Baratie but to me the bowing never really was the point. It was that Sanji was crying and said his thanks. Sanji crying while saying goodbye was the highlight of that scene for me and the live action delivered. We also get Mihawk and a look on Arlong. So there's that.

Just a continuation of the Zeff, Sanji Arc stuff. Said what I need to above.

Arlong Park. The arc that I said would be the basis of whether I would consider this to be a good live action. They should be thankful that they chose to put Sanji first before this because the emotional scene from Nami was fucking shit. It was shit. That's what it was!

THEY FUCKING RUINED THE EMOTIONAL SCENE OF ARLONG PARK!!!!!!! FUCK!!!!!! THEY BETTER BE THANKFUL THAT SANJI CAME FIRST AND THAT HIS ARC WAS MY SECOND FAVORITE. IF NOT, I WOULD HAVE CONSIDERED THIS TO BE AS SHIT AS THE REST OF THE LIVE ACTION TRASH!!!!!!

I'm just damn mad at how they just meh-ified it. Nojiko's actress was awful. Woman can't act and her child counterpart was equally awful. It was the arc I was waiting for the most but it didn't deliver. The emotional scene of the Arlong Park arc was the goat! THE FUCKING GOAT AND THEY BUTCHERED IT! FUCKING HELL!

I'm just peeved man.

A continuation of the Arlong Park Arc. Fight scene was meh. Garp's fight with Luffy is kinda neat though so I'll give them that. Damn.

Anyway after all that, I'll give this series an 8.5/10.

My Unrequested Opinion on One Piece Island Collection.

hello i'm back! i've reviewed the other set of characters song the one piece franchise made (One Piece 47 Cruise). i recommend you go check it out before reading this one. check it out here. (both )

Ok, you ready? Let's start! Today, I'm reviewing One Piece Island Song Collection (2017) each song revisits the vsrious islands we encountered during the serie. from what i understood, these characters songs are related to OP's 20th anniversary.

01. MONKEY D. LUFFY (DAWN ISLAND)

First i wanna say that the musically and quality is already better. Instead of the typical "Goofy" aspect of Luffy's personality, they went for something more mature but it almost feels "out of character". It feels like i'm listening the VA singin and not Luffy (if you catch my drift?). Maybe, i'm asking too much... (a little bit a change wont kill honestly) Decent. as long as it's not Wa Wa wa worldo then i'm good It's a good start.

02. COBY (GOAT ISLAND)

I know he's not the first male character to be voiced by a women but it almost sound akward (at least to me since i've only heard his voice in flim RED). i'm not gonna come after the english pronounctiation... The songs feels like Coby is singing the outro to his own show. It's not my cup of tea but it's actually not bad.

03. ZORO (SHELLS TOWN)

i just wants to get this out way; I have a negative bias against Zoro in the singing/musical department but let's see for this song... Bro got lost and is now a Koroko no Basket protagonist (of any shonen for that matter). To be fair, the song is good. also the VA voice seems to... (im not sure how to say it), it seems that he uses a lot of voice to stay in character which affects his singing at times, it's not that bad but noticeable which is unfortunate for this good intrumental track.

04. BUGGY D. CLOWN (ORGAN ISLANDS)

I understand Buggy is a clown but gotta slow down on the circus theme stuff, i was excepting sometihing different (props to the VA btw). Not to be mean, they could get somebody else than Buggy. Anyway... WTF is this track. The bazooka drum sequel... it's not good. Musically decent for a moment and then go doodoo. Bro is just yelling. Who wrote that?! WE NEED TO TALK ASAP.

Unpopular Opinion: I preferred Buggy's Cherry Bomb. (i never tought i would EVER say this)

05. USSOP (GECKO ISLANDS)

An overall more emotional and chill track. Great musicality and voice.

I coulndt stop laughing, his 2 first sentences in the song sounds like Destiny's Child - Independent Women pt.1 chorus or maybe i'm trippin but still hilarious to me.

06. SANJI (BARATIE)

I hope they fix the issues they had with his previous song... AND THEY DID. I genuinely like this song. a slower song fits more his voice. Great musically, voice control (the VA sing well). I was kinda surprised, to be honest, and fits Sanji's character more.

07. NAMI (CONOMI ISLANDS)

A POP SONG... YES! Her voice is amazing. Sounds like a 2000s-2010s Anime intro. Nothing to say aside from REALLY GOOD.

08. SMOKER & TASHIGI (LOGUETOWN)

WHO THOUGHT PUTTING THESE TWO TOGETHER WAS A GOOD IDEA?!? The instrumental is good and Tashigi could have sang the entire song by herself without being interrpted by Smoker's lung cancer voice. The voice different is so... dissonant it's MAJORLY taking away from the song, enough for me not clicking on the replay button.

09. VIVI & IGARAM (CACTUS ISLAND)

i welcome to the stage, the one & only, the golden witch, Beatrice!

Jokes aside, i don't have any particular feelings oh wait... it's forgettable and definitely sits on the lower tier of this character song collection.

10. MR.3 & MISS GOLDENWEEK (LITTLE GARDEN)

(What a interesting choice for a duo to sing a song...) This song sounds exactly like what you think it would be.... Trash.

11. TONY TONY CHOPPER (DRUM ISLAND)

Ok props for not doing a high BPM track and being a better song overall than his other character song but if i'm being honest the automatic ''goofiness'' attached to Chopper (and his voice) is a major turn off. it STILL sounds like it's straight out of Lucky Star .

12. CROCODILE (SANDY ISLAND)

ok i need to accept that crocodile's voice is not made for singing. i doesnt matter at this point, but at least at didnt have a heart atack like his other song... bruh they trying to make him into some 90s rock or blues singer or whatever they trying to do... the intrumental is good but thats it mate.

13. BELLAMY (JAYA)

I EXCEPT NOTHING BUT SCREAMING. Mmmmhhh, it'S like Zoro's song where he tries to sing his shonen anime intro but his "throat filled with mucus" voice gets in the way. No hate cause i know the VA in extra talent and the musicality is not bad (according to generic anime rock rules). the only way i could see this being given a pass is if you're a Bellamy fan.

14. ENEL (SKY ISLAND)

ONE PIECE NATION STAND UP! ANIME EMENIMEN HAS ANSWERED THE CALL!

THIS SONG MAKES THIS CHARACTERS SONG COLLECTION INTO AN AUTOMATIC WIN IDK WHAT ANYBODY SAYS!!!!

i tought it would have been hilarious if he rapped and he did, i cant ask for more. the song is actually not bad, you can see they did their homework and stayed whitin a Eminem adjacent style.

15. FOXY (LONG RIN LONG ISLAND)

OUT OF ALL PEOPLE YALL GAVE FOXY A TRACK?!? I understand the theme of revisitiong all the island the Strawhats visited but i'll agree giving a song to Judge Vinsmoke before this man. anyway let's see... *actually listens to it*. Drunk man singing on Long Rin Long Island's Latin KAraoke Dance night... SKIP!

16. FRANKY (WATER 7)

dont even ask me if i like it... its 90s rock music, the research on the musicality is great,

17. NICO ROBIN (ENIES LOBBY)

I had anxiety when i heard the guitar riffs cause i thought it would be too harsh for Robin's characters. SURPRISINGLY, the soft rock goes when whit her voice and the song is great. It'S like this soft dark rock and not only that but emotional due to what "wanting to be alive" means for her character. I like it.

18. BROOK (THRILLER BARK)

19. KID & LAW (SABAODY ARCHIPELAGO)

Rock is the only style they they can do together! An overworked health college student and his drop out punk friend finally decided to record a song after spending years practicing in Killer's garage.

Update 2023: Seeing Kid singing about being a headliners is interesting (i'll spare you the spoilers)

20. HANCOCK, MARIGOLD & SANDERSONIA (ISLAND OF WOMEN)

PLEASE CUT OUT ALL THAT TALKING, IT's ANNOYING AS HELL. outside of that, SLAY! Again coming with Koda Kumi-esque songs, ive listened to it many times.

21. MAGELLAN (IMPEL DOWN)

Germany from Hetalia in Impel Down. (ok ok, i couldnt help it for this one)

22. ACE (MARINEFORD)

Oh Ace, Now Ace-Taylor D. Roger Underwood. My boy decided to returns to his Texan roots. which i think fits him well. they did a great effort by giving him an authentic country track (add yeah ayyyy from back up singer). Musicality on point BUT it's time to be real, singing is not the VA strongest card. I know i've said it for his other track but it's still true for this one. Outside of that, good song.

23. SHIRAHOSHI (FISH-MAN ISLAND)

24. CAESAR CLOWN (PUNK HAZARD)

WELCOME TO AREA 51! Caesar singing like we are supposed to take him more seriously or like he's doing something BRUH. Great VA but ill pass this one with sleep paralysis intrumental sounds.

25. DOFLAMINGO (DRESSROSA)

So Doffy actually and went and hire a better production team for his song. Out of all people, he came back due to his desire of collecting the praises for being a singer for his own narcissictic behind. it shows only his mom told him he was cut out for the singer life. Somebody revive Corazon ASAP, i need some silence, THIS IS NOT GOOD.

26. WANDA (ZOU)

IN MY OPINION, THE BEST SONG. When i mean good, i emphasis on its REPLAY VALUE. i've listened to it many times. It's Really good, like Jennifer Lopez could sing that. A nice Latin-inspired track with a good VA. I mean there's the Na-Na-Na adlib, i'm sold.

FINAL REVIEW-----------------

Overall Quality (8/10) WOW! One Piece really came through with these character songs. it's really a huge improvement since One Piece Nippon Judan! 47 Cruise CD by lowering the number of title tracks. they have SIGNIFICANTLY improved the music and its quality in EVERY aspect (musicality, vocals, production, etc.). MAny times, They offered us nuances in the character's expression instead of going for its ''stereotyped/default emotions'' or way of acting. There is something for every taste so all One Piece fans can eat. Even my least favorites are based on preferences and are STill well-produced. This smaller series of song to me give more justice to the franchise of One Piece, can't wait for the Charlotte Family Special Album...

Spinability (6/10) (Can i spin this? Would i listen to it again?) ok here comes the issue, it may be shoking for a song collection having such a high score but if im being honest only few songs (among those i consider decent or good) will succeed to win a replay button. It doesnt take away from how good the songs are btw its just my personal opinion. I'm saying this also basing myself on other characters songs and how i would rank their spinability.

So to set the scene: Nami, Ussop, and Luffy are all in water 7 hoping to get the merry fixed with the money they got from skypeia, and ussop is the one holding the money. The Franky family kidnaps ussop and takes the money, which leaves nami and luffy to split up and nami to find ussop.

Yk how you don't really notice someone getting taller if you see them everyday, but if you go look at old pictures or haven't seen them in a while it's like "woaahhh dude you got so big!!"

That's how I feel about one piece character development. Maybe it's bc of the pacing and length of the show or maybe bc it's done more subtly then modern shows but like

There was an anime filler arc abt some mf who steals memories and the gang got reverted to their prior selves before going on their adventure and it was really cool to see the dynamics of the crew like that

Nami being untrusting and focused on money was expected bc she's basically still like that but with luffy and her crew as the exception to the rule. And even down to the way the characters talked there was some fun call backs like luffy calling his hat his treasure which to my knowledge he hadn't said since back in orange town when the episode numbers were still in the 2 digits (cries)

Ussop was fsr more annoying then normal however, mostly bc of his excessive lying. I didn't like him at first, but over time he just sort of got better and I could quite figure out why. Until in this arc when I realized that ussop lies less over time. I mean yes lying is still a big part of his character yk but like he only rlly does it when nessisary/its a fitting moment now which makes him a lot more sympathetic. I wish he had a worse origin then having a deadbeat dad and dead mom tho lol

Anyway all this to say he is still a coward (but now much more reasonably so and does put up a fight when he has too) and still a liar but slowly over time it gets less so and he becomes more responsible and even becomes a temporary shipright of sorts like how vivi was a sort of doctor before chopper (MY GOAT)

So we see ussop beat up and bloody after the Franky family takes the skypeia money and nami rushes to him asking him to wake up, asking if the Franky family did this

Her face seems really concerned and frustrated that someone did this to him, emotions we pretty much haven't seen from her in the series up until now, ussop let's out a few shakey breaths before awnsering "yeah. because I'm weak. They- they took all the money..."

He begins to cry and the voice acting is seriously superb at showing these emotions and he continues "Nami, how will I face the others?! We were about to have the merry reparied!! I'm so ashamed.. damnit!"

Heartbreaking scene but also it really shows the level of character development ussop has gone through. He's always one of the most shameless characters in this show, I mean half his character is lying and cowardice you can't get much more shameless then that. And to see him be ashamed like that is so like holy shit wtf sjsosjdjdir

AND THEN

Nami reassures him that it's okay and she understands him and that they'll get the money back. And I'm just fucking blown away at how far they've come. Her whole thing in the east blue is money and her own skin over everyone and everything else, and for her to be so much more concerned with ussops safety and health then the money is so fucking sick dude. She's actually come so far dude from pirate theif to pirate im going to cry 😭😭😭😭

Oh also in skypeia Enel basically gave her the same opertunity arlong did of sticking with a super powerful evil dude until the time comes when she can leave/double cross him but she actively chose to fight even without knowing sanji and ussop were coming to save her, showing how she's moved passed that tattoo on her shoulder that represents survival as her number one priority and how she's part of something bigger then herself now and all of this without even MENTIONING Arlong like say I'm reading into it too much but I'm telling you the subtle subtext goes FUCKING CRAZY IN THIS GODAMN SHOW ABOUT PIRATES AAAAAAAAAJEKDJROEJDJD 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭ITS SO PEAK
