Capital Funding for Small Businesses: All You need to know!
Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy. Running a small business is a dream come true for many entrepreneurs who have the passion and drive to succeed. However, a major challenge facing small business owners is access to capital. Capital funding is essential for businesses to grow, meet obligations, and run smoothly.
This blog post will provide you with all you need to know about capital funding for small businesses.
Explore the different types of capital funding, how they work, their advantages and disadvantages, and how to secure working capital funding in the United States with Fiscus Capital Funding.
Tumblr media
What is Capital Funding?
Capital funding is the injection of money into a business to support its operations or expansion. There are two types of capital funding: debt and equity. Debt funding involves borrowing money that must be repaid with interest, while equity funding involves selling a portion of the company to investors in exchange for capital. Debt funding is more common for small businesses.
How Does Working Capital Funding Work?
Working capital is the money a business uses to run its day-to-day operations. Working capital funding is needed when a business has a cash flow gap or requires an injection of funds to maintain and grow the business. Working capital loans are typically unsecured loans with shorter terms than traditional business loans. The lender commonly bases the loan amount on the borrower’s creditworthiness, with some lenders only requiring a minimum credit score. Working capital loans can be used for inventory purchases, payroll, rent, marketing, and other business expenses.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Working Capital Funding
The advantages of working capital funding include improved cash flow, flexibility, and the ability to seize business opportunities. With flexible repayment options, working capital loans can be tailored to the specific needs of a business. The downside of working capital funding is that it may have higher interest rates than traditional business loans; and lenders may require a personal guarantee, which puts your personal assets at risk if you cannot repay the loan.

"Leave our country alone!" they say "This isn't your land - go back to where you came from!"
And as my brother's being shoot, And my sister's being paraded naked - For their great sin of: living [Re'im, Israel, 2023]
As my great-grandfather was pushed down in the streets And his beard was brutally shaved As they raped and enslaved and murdered- [Birkenau, Poland, 1943]
[just like in 1941 Farhud, Iraq ; Jedwabne pogrom;  1945 Tripoli pogrom, the 1946 Kielce pogrom, and the 1947 Aleppo pogrom]
In 1934 there were pogroms against Jews in Turkey and Algeria.
Other parts of my family were lucky enough to survive the 1929 Hebron massacre during the 1929 Palestine riots. [Mandatory Palestine under British administration]
In 1919, soldiers marched into the center of town accompanied by a military band and engaged in atrocities under the slogan: "Kill the Jews, and save the Ukraine." They were ordered to save the ammunition in the process and use only lances and bayonets during the Proskurov pogrom.
[Proskurov, Ukraine, 1919]
[100 years, and nothing changed, huh?]
You know, my grandma's arab. I still remember sitting in class in high school, hearing about the 1840 Damascus affair, and thinking: hu.
I'll skip several years and countries, but:
Their grandparents were there to witness as the outbreak of violence against Jews (Hep-Hep riots) occurred at the beginning of the 19th century.
The 1821 Odessa pogroms marked the beginning of the 19th century pogroms in Tsarist Russia
That's  Khmelnytsky Uprising of 1648–1657 in present-day Ukraine.
So they said, during the attacks against Jews also took place in Barcelona and other Catalan cities during the massacre of 1391.
Their ancestors were cast away and murdered in Spain, 1492.
The same way we were banished and cast away from  Bern (1427) and Zürich (1436) for almost 400 years?
Let us not speak of  the alaughter on Holy Saturday of 1389, a pogrom began inPrague that led to the burning of the Jewish quarter, the killing of many Jews, and the suicide of many Jews trapped in the main synagogue; the number of dead was estimated at 400–500 men, women, and children.
Brussels massacre of 1370.
Or - do you want to hear about the 510 jewish communities that were destroyed? (1348-1350)  including in Toulon, Erfurt, Basel, Aragon, Flanders[16][17] and Strasbourg.[18]
Just like Rhineland massacres in 1096
Some of them made it to England, around 1060. It took less than 30 years for the first Podrom in 1189-90 in England,
Oh, and let us not forget 1066 Granada massacre [again, in Spain].
Or the  Alexandria in the year 38 CE, followed by the more known riot of 66 CE.
The Jewish population of the land on the eve of the first major Jewish rebellion [66 CE] may have been as high as 2.2 million. The monumental architecture of this period indicates a high level of prosperity.
In 66 CE, the Jews of Judea rose in revolt against Rome, sparking the First Jewish–Roman War. The reverse seized control of Judea and named their new kingdom "Israel"
The revolt was crushed by the Roman emperors Vespasian and Titus. The Romans destroyed much of the Temple in Jerusalem and took as punitive tribute the Menorah and other Temple artifacts back to Rome. Josephus writes that 1,100,000 Jews perished during the revolt, while a further 97,000 were taken captive. The Fiscus Judaicus was instituted by the Empire as part of reparations.
[And here we come to a full cycle of blood, land, and pain].
And those are only those I found out about. Only those we have a record of. Only those we know to this day. They were so massive, or left enough impact so we still remember.
[I could go on, this is just a short list.]
It seems like no matter what we do, we'll always be accused for
Let me know, please - where can I be a jew, and just
Live?

what are the coolest dragons?
GUILD WARS 2 SPOILERS!!!!
Outside of D&D I think Guild Wars 2 has the best Dragons and uses them incredibly well, with each expac / living world season being dedicated to one of them at a time (with one exception)
Each Dragon in GW2 represents a kind of Metaphysical force on top of their respective flavour of magic, with each expac story revolving around how to destroy an Elder Dragon in a way that doesnt end up destroying the world by unleashing that concentrated primal energy that makes up the universe.
my two favorite of the group are Kralkatorrik and Mordremoth.
With Kralkatorrik, his whole deal is they represent Crystal and Fury- They have the power to pop in and out of the psudo-afterlife-time dimension called the Mysts and their Crystal breath turns you into a glass pincushion demon bound to their will.
One of the consequences of them being able to use the afterlife as a napping nook is the human gods nope the fuck out of reality leaving the human race AND THE HUMAN AFTERLIFE to fend for themselves leaving The Mummy from The Mummy (Played by Nolan North) to take free reign over godhood.
Oh btw they are fucking huge...
Tumblr media
The sheer size of Kralkatorrik is insane- one quest has you flying inside of its maw, and its expac postgame zone is its entire body
And Kralkatorrik is not even the BIGGEST Elder Dragon (that tiny spec on the platform is a big metal golem)
Tumblr media
So yeah, one expacs deal is trying to find a way to kill Titanus Doug in a way that doesnt end up breaking the firmament, plunging the whole of the physical realm into a primordial soup
(BTW not once... but TWICE can you have to fly into the maw of an Elder Dragon)
Now lets talk about Mordremoth, the Elder Dragon of Plants and Minds.
Tumblr media
"Hey man, got any games in your brain?"
Now hold on, hear me out. Mordremoth is fucking sick as hell.
So after the main game, the first expac starts off with the main races starting a zeppelin crusade against Mordremoth, flying into their domain and blowing up every fiscus that even looks at you funny.
Which immediately goes to shit after 1/4 of the crusade goes insane.
One of the main races- One of the PLAYER RACES has their brains scrambled by Mordremoth because hey, they are plant people and Mordremoth's whole deal (who we know very little about at this point) is messing with plants and brain (Including plant King Arthur who is leading the crusade with LITERAL EXCALIBRE)
So his expac has you lead a nearly annihilated party of scouts across Uncle Fern's Naked Puzzle Greenhouse to his lair in the hopes of killing him and BREAKING HIS HOLD ON 1/4 OF THE GAMES POPULATION. The last stretch of which requires you to play a MOBA game against his Generals before reaching his true lair.
Now hold on, hear me out. It is a MOBA-like game... but you arent the heroes. You and 50 other players are the creep, the little things that get fucking gutted by try hards in League.
That picture above is just his psyche you have to fight inside plant King Arthur's mind, his physical form actually looks like this.

In summary, then, the remains of the apartment buildings at Ostia reflect a tiered system of urban leasehold that is detectable also at Rome in legal and literary sources. Those at a certain distance above the lower classes rented, for long terms, relatively large and high-quality apartments, in which they might sublease rooms in order to help pay their own rent; while the poor made do with short-term leases in tenements that physically resembled inns. This is the model that I promised above, and it is subject to the limitations I mentioned. This model is interesting for its evidence of how thoroughly a basic economic structure like the urban rental market was, in the Roman world, not ' economic ' in the modern sense of maximised profit, but instead interpenetrated by considerations of social status and subjected to social restraint and regulation. To such an extent was this true that the Roman market remained economically wasteful in many respects, particularly in its tendency to multiply risks; for example, the widespread use of entrepreneurial middlemen (above, n. 8) drove up the rents of everyone. The rich paid more because of delayed-payment leases, which had the disadvantage of being risky for the landlord; so too did the poor, above all because of the shortness of their term of lease. In neither case was the form of lease determined solely by the market's operation; delayed-payment leases, in particular, may have been an inherited feature, formed perhaps on the analogy of farming leases where delayed payment was economically rational. The survival of the delayed payment, one might hypothesize, was precisely due to the element of social trust it seemed to imply. No impetus to the improvement of the rental market's efficiency appears to have existed. Even the simplest devices to eliminate local inequities in the market, such as public or private clearing-houses for rental information, are never attested. The owners of insulae were apparently for the most part wealthy members of the upper classes, casually investing in the hope of a guaranteed return; freedmen, by contrast, do not seem to have bought up urban housing, though Trimalchio did own an insula (Petron., Cen. Trim. 7I. 2). What is even more significant is the absence of class-consciousness among tenants; for example, no source ever complains, in the fashion of the modern age, about the landlords of Rome as a class. Contrast the result when in 68 Nero, despite economic circumstances already very trying for the urban population, attempted to divert tenants' annual rental payments from their landlords to the fiscus (Suet., Nero 44. 2); the measure brought on open resistance from tenants, who probably feared (quite rightly, as Suetonius points out) that the agents of the fiscus would be far less tolerant of payment compromises than were their own landlords. The perennial outcry of ancient authors about high rents in Rome does have an ironic aspect, therefore, although admittedly high rents were largely the result of over-intensive use of land.

Tax Collection in South Africa: SARS Intensifies Efforts
Tumblr media
The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has recently intensified its focus on tax collection, underscoring its commitment to collecting unpaid taxes and ensuring compliance. In a media statement on October 18, 2024, SARS highlighted its renewed efforts, including a notable legal victory against businessman Roux Shabangu. This case sends a clear message that SARS will go to great lengths to recover what’s owed to the national treasury. With a sharpened focus on discretionary trusts and corporate structures, SARS aims to prevent tax evasion and enforce compliance across South Africa.
Increased Focus on Discretionary Trusts for Tax Compliance
A major outcome of the Shabangu case is SARS' attention to discretionary trusts, often used for estate planning. However, such trusts can be susceptible to misuse for tax evasion. Latita Africa's Tax Debt Specialist, Jay Manikus, emphasizes that taxpayers who have assets in discretionary trusts must ensure compliance with tax regulations. With SARS now closely examining these structures, individuals and businesses should seek professional tax advice to avoid compliance issues. SARS' scrutiny of discretionary trusts aims to eliminate any tax evasion practices, further reinforcing its commitment to tax collection.
Piercing Corporate Structures to Ensure Tax Collection
In a move to dismantle tax evasion mechanisms, SARS has shown its willingness to “pierce the corporate veil,” pursuing Shabangu’s assets held under various business entities and family trusts. His discretionary trust, Majestic Silver 275 (Pty) Ltd, was used to shield assets and delay payments. After years of attempts to delay compliance, SARS finally succeeded in securing a provisional Preservation Order in February 2023, confirmed in April 2024. This order allowed SARS to manage Shabangu’s assets through a Curator Bonis, ensuring full asset accountability. This case illustrates SARS' ability to cut through complex corporate structures to recover tax debts, regardless of how assets are shielded.
SARS’ Stance on Tax Evasion and Non-Compliance
In a recent media release, SARS Commissioner Edward Kieswetter stated that the Shabangu case serves as a powerful example of SARS’ determination to enforce tax compliance. Kieswetter reiterated that SARS would continue to utilise all legal avenues available to fulfil its mandate, including “piercing the corporate veil” when necessary. This move targets trusts, commonly used as vehicles to evade taxes, with SARS declaring it will pursue all tax evaders “without fear, favour, or prejudice.”
Managing Tax Debt Proactively to Avoid Legal Consequences
The message from SARS is clear: tax compliance is not optional, and outstanding tax debt will be pursued. Non-compliant taxpayers face potential consequences, including liquidation and sequestration. For businesses and individuals with unresolved tax obligations, acting now to manage tax debt is essential to avoid such severe consequences. Latita Africa advises those with outstanding tax debt to seek assistance from a tax debt consultant or tax specialist to ensure compliance with South African tax laws.
SARS’ Focus on Discretionary Trusts and High-Value Entities
The Shabangu case underscores SARS’ growing interest in high-value entities and discretionary trusts. SARS is determined to prevent any misuse of these structures and ensure all taxable entities contribute appropriately to South Africa’s fiscus. This focus signals the need for individuals and businesses with discretionary trusts to engage a tax lawyer or tax advisor to ensure that their trusts and other structures are compliant with South African tax regulations.
Latita Africa: Tax Debt Consulting and Compliance Support
At Latita Africa, we understand the complexities of South African tax law and the growing scrutiny from SARS. Our team provides support to individuals and businesses alike, helping them manage tax debt effectively and avoid legal complications. From negotiating with SARS to advising on discretionary trusts, we offer comprehensive tax consulting in South Africa for clients seeking to stay compliant.
Take Action on Tax Debt Before SARS Takes Action
The Shabangu case serves as a reminder that there is no longer any “hiding from the taxman.” Taxpayers who proactively manage their tax debt and ensure compliance can avoid severe penalties and legal action. In this era of heightened tax enforcement, Latita Africa encourages all South Africans with outstanding tax obligations to act now, ensuring compliance and reducing financial risk.
Conclusion: No Hiding from the Taxman
With a clear focus on discretionary trusts and complex corporate structures, SARS has sent a strong message that it is committed to fulfilling its tax collection mandate. The Shabangu case highlights SARS’ resolve to enforce compliance and pursue outstanding tax debt, regardless of how assets are structured. For individuals and businesses alike, now is the time to ensure all tax matters are in order.
