For the uneducated, that's pea soup, Kalakukko (Fish and pork baked in a rye bread), Rössypottu (Black pudding soup) and blood sausage.

Ce soir c'est Lohikeitto ! 🇫🇮

And of course it's not just the two quite famous cuisines that have morphed over the years. To look at that are considered "traditional" dishes in my home country (Finland), they are often based on one of more of the following:
Potato (only introduced to Finland in the mid-1700s)
Wheat (cultivars that actually survive in the Finnish climate were only introduced in the 1800s)
Macaroni pasta (only introduced to Finland in the 1800s)
Rice (impossible to cultivate in Finland; first records of rice imports to Finland are from the 1600s but before the introduction of modern logistics in the 20th century rice was luxury dish available only to the rich)
Atlantic herring (not found in local waters; introduced to the country by a local fishing company in the 1940s)
A special mention also to the centerpiece of a traditional Finnish christmas dinner: a leg of pork. A piece of an animal that can only provide meat and nothing else, which would have been historically been available to only to the rich.
Well I would give a medieval peasant some spaghetti.

My quest for homemade vegan mooncakes has morphed into a quest to make mooncake-joulutorttu hybrids. Fusion cuisine, baby!
First test today is a semi-failure (joulutorttu dough will not keep the mooncake pattern on its surface), but they are still cooling so I haven't tried them yet so I don't know how the joulutorttu jam fared...
But if the jam didn't fail then the next step is using mooncake dough and joulutorttu jam.
Terra Vegane Megga Exx is playing the role of egg wash, and whether that is enough of an egg wash for mooncakes I don't know yet (what is the purpose of the egg wash anyway? is it just to get the golden color to make the mooncakes look like a golden moon type thing, because Megga Exx is making the joulutorttu golden at least...)

Finnish Pannu Kakku Recipe A family favorite, this recipe is handed down to each generation. This rich, airy treat is best when served hot with jam or jelly. 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup butter, 2 cups milk, 1 teaspoon salt, 4 eggs beaten, 1 cup white sugar, 1 teaspoon baking powder

Cornish Finnish Michigan Pasties These hearty and flavorful pastry pies have a generous amount of ground beef and pork, rutabagas, potatoes, carrots, and onions inside. After being baked, these mouthwatering pastry-filled packets can be enjoyed warm or room temperature. This dish makes eight pasties. 1/2 cup hot water, 1/2 pound lean ground pork, 1 teaspoon ground black pepper, 1/2 cup diced rutabaga, 4.5 cups all-purpose flour, 1 cube beef bouillon, 1 onions, 5.5 cups thinly sliced potatoes, 1 cup shortening, 1 teaspoon salt, 1.25 cups ice water, 1.5 teaspoons monosodium glutamate, 2 carrots shredded, 1.5 pounds lean ground beef, 1 tablespoon salt

Are we supposed to vote for the best food or the most evil food?
(I enjoyed most of the ones listed. The fact we didn't always have food at home might have been a contributing factor though. But I never learned to like the evil pasta salad).
