In a fight, skulker accidentally throws Danny through a natural portal, and now Danny is stuck at Pluto, what the hell you bony bastard?! So now he has to fly all the way back to earth and hope the satellites don’t pick him up, but it’s actually Hal Jordan who sees him, and when later telling the justice league about a glowing boy in space who doesn’t need to breath and definitely wasn’t a lantern, zatanna cuts him off to mention the urgent need of addressing the insane amounts of dead following what feels like an insanely powerful god of death that definitely wasn’t in this dimension the day before. Bats is obviously the first one to notice they’re talking about the same person.

Back with Danny, he can’t seem to find his way around the states with how tired that flight made him, so he crashed down onto a farm on accident, while two sweet parents see this glowing boy fall from the sky and decided yeah. Might as well have another.

Clark, meanwhile, has no clue that the god of death sending the league into chaos is the same kid his parents have been wanting him to meet back at the farm.

tumblr annihilated the quality of this so i added a text free image of him so ppl could actually see him! the quality will probably hold up better on my FA lol. i wanted to use a text tool in paint or sai to write all that out but they were either crunchy or just straight up not working for me today

anyway i have had levels boyfriend-adjacent guy in my head for months (almost a year honestly i think) but i only had a fuzzy idea for his design itself in my head and the many attempts i made to just find smth by doodling weren't promising. so while i still think this is a little complex for him (probably kinda overdesigned especially cuz im still so pleased with levels design and her color blocking and she has a great 'looks more complicated than she actually is to draw' design to me) and ill likely mess w it a bit in the future, im happy with where i ended up this time! i have a lot less experience drawing robots than i do just normal furries so figuring out pleasing shapes, lines, and plating for more inorganic stuff isnt rly second nature to me, but i'll get there, and im happy with him for now :-)

one thing i was trying to translate w his design that i couldnt fit on the ref was that since he's level's mechanic and he also does as much of his own servicing as he can, i wanted some of their plating and (minimal) greebling to be similar. zag has some plating styles he likes i think.. i did want their colors to contrast but still look good together :) i had to fight everything in me to not make him just teal. i love you teal. level had enough teal in her design lol. zag got a greener teal for highlights than level's 'beachier' color scheme bcuz i cant resist at least a LITTLE bit

Actually I really wanna write a role reversal gerrymichael au and let me be so, so transparent when I say it is literally just bc I wanna fantasize about the tall, gangly blond man beating monsters to death

Everyone else has the same roles. Mary Keay is still Mary Keay in all her abusive and obsessive glory; Gertrude is still the Archivist.

Vaguely spiral aligned Michael who Does Not Like It. Pretends his connection is a hell of a lot looser than it is.

The only benefit (that Michael thinks of the Spiral) is how he can move around the Institute with relatively little interference and watch, after all, it is hard to behold something that is both nothing and everything and never was all at the same time.

Gerry ran away from home really young and actually succeeded. Spent a few years fucking around and learning what kind of benches are best to sleep on before applying to the Magnus Institute because that's what his dad did. He lied to hell and back on the application, but was hired quickly because of how thoroughly touched by the entities he was (thanks Mary) and Gertrude was running low on assistants. Gerry also felt completely justified in faking stuff and that he was perfectly qualified bc he grew up in a bookshop and how much different could it be (very different, as it turns out).

They first meet each other when Michael is prowling through artefact storage like it was a shopping mall, and pocketing everything he saw that didn't immediately mesmerize him. He was nervous and jumpy as all hell, even though this was not the first time he's done something similar and he's fairly certain Gertrude doesn't care, so when Gerry first spotted him from behind, he was immediately suspicious even before he saw Michael try to shove a lamp into his jacket pocket. This led to an altercation that eventually led to the lamp being accidentally turned on, Michael smashing it to pieces with a hammer Gerry had not realized Michael had, and Gerry suddenly being a lot more consciously aware of the supernatural than he was.

Gerry's mother was still obsessive over Lighteners, and she didn't make an effort to hide what she did, but she didn't actively try to educate Gerry on anything to do with the Fears. So he is fairly knowledgeable on the supernatural, but he doesn't know anything concrete about the Fears themselves and their categorization. The role of a stand by sacrifice instead of an errand boy and heir.

Michael still trusts Gertrude, but this time he knows he shouldn't and hates himself for it. Gerry wants to trust Gertrude, and she does hide him from anything Fears related and behaves around him like she did Michael in cannon, but he just feels something off about her and doesn't like it. She's just a bit too much like his mother for him to let his guard down.

Michael gets referred to by "it/its" pronouns once by Gerry as a teasing joke before Gerry fully knows what he is and is absolutely terrified by how happy the pronouns make his feel. (He thinks, maybe, that the Michael of his childhood liked something similar, too, but everything too far back is all twisted and he doesn't know what has been touched by the Spiral and what hasn't, so he doesn't trust any of it). He/it Michael ftw

At one point Michael just started putting black lipstick on himself because some of Gerry's always stuck to him when they kissed anyways n this gave them plausible deniability. Michael will never admit to the little spiral thrill it gives him when people do a double take upon seeing his face, the black lipstick contrasting literally everything else about his style.

Gabriel attempted to track Michael down exactly once, a few years before he joined the institute. He had heard about Michael's unsavory... Hobby... (<- reckless destruction of artefacts and throwing himself at all monsters and avatars he sees with a murderous rage regardless of their affiliation) but spiral avatars capable of holding a conversation are so few and far between and the Great Twisting was almost prepared, so he thought a meeting would be worth it. He showed up at a cafe Michael frequented one day expecting lovely, but tense, conversation, only to promptly lit on fire (mostly) in the back alley behind the cafe after he introduced himself. Gabriel survived, but some of his clay body still hardens unexpectedly or shows signs of firing from time to time.

Occasionally Michael's eyes will change colors and shapes, so he likes to put contacts in (he used to just use tinted glasses, but after one time of Gerry getting lost in his eyes in the far too literal, not at all romantic, sense, he decided to invest in smth a bit harder to take off and forget about). Unfortunately, this sometimes means other, very much not his original eyes will pop up around his body and in his hair as protest when he puts them in. It's not very fun to have to chase off eyes at 6am, but he does it regardless and complains the whole time about how he shouldn't have to deal with eyes when he very clearly isn't of The Eye.

Gerry: Oh hey you were running pretty late. I was starting to get worried.

Michael, not about to admit he spent an extra thirty minutes to get ready yelling and brandishing a lighter at a door that was following him around like a lost puppy: Ummmmmm I forgot my wallet. :((

I hope we see Lucifer training Charlie in Season 2. Plus it'd be cute if Vaggie was watching and Charlie decided to see if she also wanted to join in. Because Cmom, you know if she asks him to train her too he's gonna fold like Adam.

Are you me??? I literally left a reply on someone's post about wanting to see Lucifer more in season 2 and being scared it's not gonna happen cuz he's so OP and the main character is charlie and she has to solve her own problems

and I just went in with a reply like "OKAY BUT WHAT IF HE GETS TO TRAIN HER???" That solves both problems???? We get to see more of him AND Charlie gets to problem solve without him needing to just OP his way through the story

seriously tho the exact thought that's been on loop in my head is Charlie accidentally activates some sort of mega-angel beam or whatever, hits Lucifer in full, and she just panics CUZ OMG DAD, DID I JUST KILL YOU??? and then from the pile of rubble, Lucifer sticks out a thumbs up and you hear a muffled "THAT WAS AMAZING SWEETIE DO IT AGAIN"

i love love love the truth curse fic so much, especially how dipper twists it so that he can still irritate bill with it.

it does make me think though, there was one smut fic where it was mentioned that if bill could he would rip all of dippers fantasies out of his head and use them against him.

part of me wants bill to ask for even just one or two bedroom fantasies while dipper is forced to blab the truth just so bill can abuse the fuck out of whatever idea dipper comes up with

and part of me wants the curse fixed, everything back to normal and no more truth telling. with dipper and bill relaxing after everything, maybe even a few days pass. before bill just loudly and out of the blue shouts ‘FUCK!’ as he realized he missed a great opportunity and now its too late.

I can guarantee you that Bill has that 'FUCK' moment afterwards! Turns out that too many Shenanigans in the interim kind of interrupted his train of thought - and Dipper's a little too clever to be caught by ham-handed or distracted questions. Too bad, Bill; you didn't get to pick Dipper's brain nearly as much as you wanted.

moved out of the apartment today with my mom's help and got to clean and pack with her for two days while she was off from work but actually there was an emergency so she also had to work the whole time and on the way back i got a wonderful opportunity to listen to her monologize in the car for hours and hours about how she's disappointed in what i've become and i wasted three years and wasted her money and her support and i'm ungrateful and i didn't do anything right and also i should start caring about my health and about my appearance because i will never be happy in this (ugly, hairy, fat) body and also she doesn't root for me or believe that everything will be okay but she doesn't understand why i don't feel secure and why i don't trust myself or believe that everything will be okay.

Burning Puppets

Brushing her teeth, Hero readied herself for bed. Her music was on, her tea was ready for sipping -despite the steam rising from just below the rim, and now it was time for lip balm.

She laid down in bed, grabbed the tube of lip balm, and twisted the bottom of it until the surface of the balm peeked from the top, all glossy and shiny from the lamp across the room. The buttery product slid easily across her lips, but putting it back on her nightstand was less swift. She dropped it, and, of course, it rolled.

No matter where Hero touched, no matter how far she reached, it was impossible to find the tube which fell to the floor. Eventually, miraculously- given the small space between her bedframe and her beside table, she bent over enough to see the tube rolled halfway across the floor beneath her bed.

With her hair acting a shield, and with a flashlight in front of her eyes, Hero didn't notice the light in her room going out until she sat up. The hairs on her arms stood and a chill ran down her spine.

Someone was here.

And it was Villain.

"This is the closest I've gotten without you noticing me. What gave me away?"

Hero heard him chuckle in the dark, and her shoulders fell from their stressed position.

Villain was still by her lamp by the sound of it, which meant his question was rhetorical. He knew what he was doing; he always did.

"What do you want this time?"

There was always a meaning to his visits, and they always ran the same way. He would break in sometime in the night, taunt Hero, kiss her, then ask something of her: a piece of information, a deal with Leader, a betrayal of a teammate.

"You think I would cut straight to the case?"

"Turn the light on."

Villain took this as a dare, Hero knew, because she heard him walking closer to her bed.

"The light," she repeated, and she attempted at a voice of malice. "Turn it on."

"But we always have fun in the dark."

"You have fun in the dark, but I don't want to do this anymore." Hero put her lip balm away on her nightstand, then laid down, and pulled the sheets over her stomach. Maybe if she ignored Villain, then he'd get the message. She wasn't interested anymore.

"You think you're any more valuable to Leader than you are to me? You're her puppet."

"And that's not what I am to you?" Already, she'd forgotten she didn’t want to respond. But he was fuelling her fire, fuelling an anger she was failing to see for so long. Could it have been the lip balm falling that sent her over the edge after a long day of work, or was she simply- and finally- seeing reason?

Hero could feel Villain’s figure at the foot of her bed- could see his silhouette if she focused hard enough. It was imposing, but she kept her sheets firmly below her chest. She didn't clutch it. She didn't let it loose.

"What am I to you, Villain?"

His silhouette moved to the side of the bed, closer to her. She held her breath. Villain would never hurt her; she knew that, but his proximity worried her regardless. She deserved better than to be played by two people in her life.

Leader gave out commands like she was a dog, and Villain thought he could have anything he wanted if he only gave her a few small pecks on the lips.

"You're sweet. You're...I don't know, Hero. You're asking me a question that-"

"That what? You have to think about?" Hero rolled her eyes. "Get out."

"Come on- don't be like that."

Villain's feet shuffled away and before Hero knew it, the light snapped on. She squinted to adjust.

"I'm serious, Villain. Give me one good reason not to call Leader."

Hero didn't like the way his face changed. He smiled- and it wasn't in his usual romantically suave way. His smile resembled something that made Hero regret every last word she spoke.

"I don’t suppose Leader told you about our partnership, did she?���

“You’re lying.”

Villain was still. Still in frame, still smiling, still empowered by deception.

“How long?”

He shrugged. “Long enough.”

After the faintest moment, Hero shook her head and licked her lips. “This doesn’t change anything-”

“-Doesn’t it?”

“I know how you are with your dignity. Why don’t you go ahead and excuse yourself before I have to call the agency?” Hero worried the agency was as involved with Villain as she was. If Villain was being honest, and Leader really was partnering with him…what hope did anyone have?

Witch a gentle mock-surrender, Villain said, “Alright, alright. I’ll leave. But remember, Hero”- he smiled- “I have connections everywhere. I’m not afraid to burn one puppet if I have to.”

“I’m sure.” Hero smiled sweetly back. “Tell me what you want, or I call for help. Those are your options.”

“Banquet- tomorrow, at midnight. Be dressed in something fancy by eleven. Silver accessories.”

“You think you can dictate what I-”

“If you want what happens in this bedroom to stay in this bedroom, you’ll wear silver.”

“And if you did that, I’d get to tell the world how much I had to accommodate for beneath these silky sheets.” Hero liked moments like these- when her control was shaking and she got to grip it in her fists. “Dignity, remember? I have cards to play, too.” Before Villain could make some offhanded comment, Hero continued, “Black ballgown with gold hoops, and you don’t get to complain.”

Villain huffed. This had happened many times in the past; Villain would smile coyly, only to be let down by Hero’s oppositional blackmails. “Red lipstick, at least?”

“If you buy me a corsage with red roses.”

“It’s a banquet- not an American prom.”

Hero brought her thumb and first finger together into a near pinch, then looked between her fingers at Villain. “The world won’t care that we slept together if they thought-”

“You’d be lying.”

“They wouldn’t know that.”

His huff became a sigh, became a pinched brow. “Fine. Fine, I’ll get you your dumb rose corsage.”

“And you’ll smile when you give it to me- treat me nicely.”

Without another word, Villain flicked Hero’s lamp off, and he was gone.
