Still indecisive about the name, renamed it from Shattered core to Mirror-mori cause I figured it'd make more sense ^^'

ANYWAYS, this au takes place in a medieval/fantasy world where everybody is all different types of creatures ranging from vampires, trolls, fairies, centuars, dragons; etc.

The core is the main source of magic for Sunny and Mari's kingdom, Nearby Kingdom, it's kept hidden deep within the castle. After an argument between Mari and Sunny, the core was destroyed in collateral, and Mari had 'vanished'.

The kingdom had lost its vibrant color due to the destruction of the core. Nobody knows what truly happened, and a missing case was opened for months for Mari until they had given up and declared her dead, leaving the friend group completely destroyed. Aubrey, Kel, and Hero managed to stick together while Basil and Sunny completely isolated themselves.

Mirrors in this au are incredibly important, as due to the core shattering, multiple mirrors throughout the kingdoms are a gateway to another realm, or basically, portals. There are 3 realms: Real World, Mirrorspace, and Blackspace.

Though not everybody can go through mirrors, it takes some pretty powerful magic to be able to do so. However, if specific mirrors are broken (mirrors with the strongest magic presence), then whatever is inside said mirror can come out. Sunny, being a royal, has access to the mirrors in his castle (specifically the one in his room) as it's a portal to mirrorspace. He accesses it throughout the night, but lately has been staying longer and longer.

Due to Sunny staying in mirrorspace longer and longer, he ends up getting hallucinations sometimes. Specifically of Mari, and is unable to tell what is real and what isn't sometimes. Surprisingly, these hallucinations end up leading him to open the castle doors for Kel after four long years...

There is one mirror in sunnys castle that he keeps hidden away. His fear of it is very strong, and he refuses to even enter the room it's in. It calls out his name. Sometimes, he can even hear the faint sound of piano keys playing from it... He can't hide from it forever, though. The truth will always catch up eventually...

I refused to draw anything else till I finished these refs cause they've been on standby for a while now 🥲 I hope what I said makes sense, if not then I'm sorry 😅 Feel free to ask any questions tho if I ended up not explaining something right! Thank you so much for reading ^^

The first time I posted about the concept of doing a sports anime piece with the aftg cast was October 2021 based on this post by @impavid-ish from July 2020 (yes I did go digging for the original post.)

I posted the "sketch" version in June 2022 and told myself that eventually I'd finish it and give it the full color treatment. Well, I finally did that - two years later.

Finally! I've finished drawing that emotion practice! I drew EVERY single character (minus the Monokubs, Monokuma, etc. and the UDG cast)... It's done... I actually feel kinda pleased with this.
