it actively holds everyone back when you equate femininity and femmeness to weakness. whenever you imply that feminine people and femmes are inherently weak, in need of protection, inherently submissive, incapable of hurting others, and pathetic, you are holding everyone back: women, men, people of all kinds, trans, cis, intersex, non binary and beyond.

femmes do not inherently need to be protected. feminine people do not inherently need to be looked after. femmes are not incapable of defending themselves, of being strong, of being capable of protecting others, of being independent, of being masculine as well, or being assertive or dominant. femmes and feminine people are capable of being just as diverse as any other group of people and when you insinuate that femininity is inherently tied to weakness you fail everyone.

mascs and butches aren't inherently strong, and they don't have to be. femmes and feminine people aren't inherently weak and they don't have to be. perpetuating these cisheterosexual norms in the queer community does no one any favors.

I feel like the bigender identity fits Sanji a lot and I've seen a lot of trans women, trans fem and other headcanons, but there's something about Sanji embracing both genders and preforming them - sometimes separately, sometimes together - that just resonates with me a lot.

There seems to be a wave of appreciating girlhood and traditional femininity and while this is great we have to remember that there is space “masculine” traits in girlhood and femininity and there is room for men in girlhood (nonbinary people, some transmascs, Multigender people, gender-fluid people, two spirit people etc) and femininity

I wish that the ‘traditionally’ feminine agere aesthetic wasn’t so ridiculously white washed because I feel like a lot of people treat it as the antithesis of inclusivity in the community and it’s so frustrating.

I don’t think people are taking into account that regression is — for a lot of people — an act of self-healing. A lot of young women and girls are not allowed to be feminine. Black women are often told they’re not feminine enough, fat women, and disabled women are all often told the same thing. There are so many women and girls who are told they don’t reach certain standards of femininity.

Hyperfem regression is not just for white littles or skinny littles or any one group and I wish it would stop being set up as the ‘default’ regression that everyone trying to get away from. There is a very diverse crowd that benefits from it and finds it deeply cathartic.

I am so blessed to have learned makeup from watching drag queens and doing theatre. As a trans person (he/they) who is very stereotypically effeminate, it really helps to understand aesthetics and makeup from a queer perspective.

Makeup and looking fem are things I love, but I don't think I'd have taken to them if they were presented as "women only." I have dysphoria and know that I am a man, but I was taught that makeup is for me too.

Thank you queer spaces for teaching me all the ways that I am beautiful.
