The Blood Mender

The Brigade's war on the Cruor Sanguis Blood cult has been going on for more than a decade now. While undeniably costly and with mounting casualties on both sides, it has not come without its benefits. One of them is understanding of the Blood magic and various rituals that can be used both to cause harm and mend even the most grievous injuries. The Brigade has captured a few cultists at the very beginning of the conflict and managed to free them from the cult's influence. Some of them left, never to be heard of again, but some stayed and joined in the fight against their former captors. One of them is Borgia, the veteran leader of the Brigade's Blood priests. A small, secretive unit comprised mostly of former cultists who seek redemption and some of them most likely revenge. While not as formidable as Octavian or Alanna Vex, the feared Blood Countess, Borgia is a powerful spellcaster in her own right. Over the years, she has managed to mend injuries that resisted the efforts of the more conventional healers at the Brigade hospital, and has proven to be an invaluable instructor to those few who attempt to master the crimson arts. I have finished this piece some time ago, in an attempt to bring back Borgia in a more stylish and 'modern' fashion - opting for the stained glass I've recently fallen in love with. The last piece I've done of her was back in 2017.. 6 whole years, unbelievable.

Quick Bio: Arachnea Hellspider

Race: Sindorei Class: Demon Hunter Specialization: Felcrawler Pronouns: She/Her

Arachnea is an Amazonian-coded female with black hair and fel-green eyes, hidden behind a red and gold blindfold. She has curled demonic horns, crimson Illidari tattoos and slight fel cracks in her skin. She also has spikes, large, protruding fangs that look like a spider's mandibles, and two sets of arms. She gained these traits from consuming the souls of Aranasi demons and taking on their power, which also granted her the ability to shoot webs, climb walls and secrete or conjure poisons. Deep down, Arachnea is devoted to her rank in the Illidari but would love some company for once.

The Honey-Tongued Countess

   Hello everyone! Today we are going to meet the last person introduced through the March faction focus of House Vex. After meeting the matriarch and the two older sisters, I'd like to introduce you to the youngest countess of the trio - Dorothee Vex.    With Birgitte Vex handling the gritty and dirty business of the House and Vivienne dealing with more combat oriented threats and missions, House Vex needed someone to step up and act as a front, the face and the voice of the House. None of the Vex siblings is more suited to this task than the youngest of the three countesses - Dorothee Vex. Her youthful appearance, positive attitude and warm, honey soaked words and gestures tend to win favor of many who come to deal with her. She is always elegant, always well dressed and always in control - of everything.. or at least she tries.    While Dorothee seems to outwardly have no obvious flaws and personal vice, her ever smiling face actually hides a calculating mind that craves control and power above everything else. Her carefully crafted facade and power aspirations have earned the young countess the rank of the Brigade Commander at a very early age. Those who have come to deal with the House and got to know the trio of countesses closer would much rather crossed Birgitte on her sadistic spree, or Vivienne during her bullwhip training lesson, than get on Dorothee's bad side. Those who end up on Dorothee's bad side do not stay there for very long. Simply put, while the first two might leave your body with a few scars and a lesson or two learned, the third one would plot and tirelessly labor to manipulate everything and everyone in order to teach her enemies a lesson. For this, those who have gotten to know the young countess closer have given her a nickname of 'Devil'.    And that concludes the faction focus for the month of March! I hope you have enjoyed both the art, characters and the expanded background story of House Vex. There is a still a couple of days to influence the vote on the faction focus for April. Sharing these I did in February, using Photoshop. And yeah, I got pretty bored of using PS for digital art again, no idea why, maybe the work flow? It works a lot differently when it comes to digital art as the software were never originally meant for that. And I feel I can get a smoother and faster work flow without being sloppy by doing traditional art than PS, so I turned my back on digital, until recently when I tried out CSP :3 which has the smooth work flow I was after ^^

Anyway, back to talking about these portraits. Portraits of my husband’s blood elf warlock and a portrait of my night elf rogue from World of Warcraft. And yeah, the belf’s neck is slightly fucked up, like he’s on some weird form of steroids :P and the eye brow on the nelf is just off as hell... just to mention a few flaws that slaps you in the face :P

But yeah, I’m also curious about the rest of you artists that are working with digital art. Which software do you prefer working with and why? :)
