A Playful Bath Time

(This is the first time I've ever posted something like this, so if it's actually NSFW, or labeled wrong in general, please let me know and I'll fix it.)

She walks into the apartment, exhausted from a long day of work, and half hazardly throws her keys in a small dish next to the front entrance. As she walks further down the hall, she can hear faint music and singing from behind one of the closed doors. She stops and listens to assess the situation, a habit she developed, because of her job.

"Everytime you look at her, I close my eyes / Does she keep you up all night, keep you up all night? / Why'd you say forever if you change your mind?"

Along with a female singing, she hears water splashing every few seconds. She decides it's safe to knock, but doesn't receive an answer after a few tries.

"Lost in her own world again..." She thinks.

The woman slowly opens the door, to try and not scare the other, but failed. The girl in the bath tub screams and desperately trys to find anything to use as a weapon.

"Uh, no, it's just me."

The woman at the door stopped in her tracks to try and calm down the other girl.

"Uhhhhg! Winter! I thought you were a burglar!" Shouted the scared girl.

She's a well known friend of Winter's. In fact, she's the longest friend Winter has managed to keep around. The apartment is one that they started to share after Winter ran away from the Moriarty house. Her friend was living in Japan and recently broke up with her boyfriend she was living with. Winter had business she had to attend to in Japan anyways, so she decided to move in. The timing couldn't be more perfect.

"I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to check up on you. You were singing one of those songs again."

She goes silent for a moment, her face almost looking as if she's searching for something on Winter's face, then replies after blinking a few times.

"No, no, no, I'm fine. I just really like that song."

Winter picks up her friends phone and inspects what's showing on the screen.

"You're listening to the whole playlist."

"I'm ok, gease! Just drop it!"

Winter puts down the phone and starts stripping off her clothes.

"Mind if I join you?"

"No, go ahead." Is barely heard inside the tub.

Winter situates herself in the other side of the tub, while her friend looks away. She noticed this behavior since she's moved in. When they were younger, they used to always bathe together like this, having serious and deep conversations. Both of them have also said things that they never thought they'd voice to another person. For them, as silly as it sounds, bathing together has a similar effect that alcohol has on other people.

Winter put both arms on either side of the tub and leaned back. She closed her eyes and let the swaying of the water and the music coax her into a peaceful state, despite the sadness behind the words.

"Then I saw a picture of your smile / something I haven't seen in a while / you know the one, the one you love to hate / but everytime, it takes my breath away."

"You know, as a kid, I used to look forward to when we could just sit in the tub like this." Says the other girl.

"Mmmh... Not anymore?"

"No, I still do, but as an adult, I didn't think we'd be able to continue."

Winter slowly opens her eyes and watches the girl across from her. Her head is still turned away and her body looks stiff. Her face is a little pinkish, too, but Winter can't tell if it's from the bath, or something else.

"In my heart is where you'll be / Holding on to all our dreams / With everything, everything but me / do you know how much it hurts? / To go and leave it all behind, leave it all behind / I see you in my mind / You are right there all the time."

Winter closes her eyes and tries to relax down again.

"You're thinking too much, it doesn't suit you."

"Wha- hey! I'm just trying to be realistic here!"

"Is that what he wanted from you? You're not the kind of person who thinks realistically, that's my job to do for you. You should keep living in your fantasy. You're happier there."

Winter doesn't hear anything, so she cracks her eyes open to find her friend glaring daggers at her. Once she realizes what she has said, she sits up quickly and starts saying the first thing that comes to her head to try and calm her friend down.

"That is not what I meant! I swear, it came out worse than I meant it too! See, I like it when you live in your fantasy world, cause it helps to keep me grounded. You remind me that I don't have to be serious all the time and I always enjoy being with you and I like listening to the silly stories that play out in your head. Gah! I'm just, I'm sorry!"

The girl fails to hold back a chuckle and breathes out a sigh.

"Ok, ok, just let me go and I'll forgive you."

At some point, Winter had placed her hands onto her friends knees while giving her an apology. Winter looked her dead in the eyes and she quickly looked away, quietly repeating what she said earlier.

"If you let go of me, I'll forgive you."

Winter just kept staring in curiosity and couldn't help but wonder why her friend was acting this way. She has found her friend always looks away when she's wearing clothing (or too little, in some instances) that's too revealing. Winter decides to do an experiment and tease the girl. After all, if her thinking was right, then this would be a very interesting turn of events.

"Winter, let go."

Winter adjusts both of her hands to have a tighter grip on the girls knees. She spreads her legs, so fast, that the sound of her knees hitting either side of the tub could be heard throughout the apartment. The gasp that her friend made, well... There's no way you could call that a gasp...

"Are you-"

"Shut up! The last time we bathed together was when we were kids! I- I didn't expect for your body to... Mature so much!"

"Clearly, my body isn't the only thing that has matured... You're mind has, too."

"I said shut up!"

She starts hitting Winter on her head while Winter covers her head and laughs at the situation. She moves back to her original position, with her arms on both sides of the tub, to try and calm herself from the laughing.

"I can't give him everything, not all of me / when you still got me / If I'm being honest / I don't know if I'll feel love / As I did when I was young / Anymore / He's all that I wanted / But you're the one that I adore / there's two things I know for sure / I love him / but I'll always love you more."

"I think we've been in here long enough, so why don't we get out?" Winter says.

"Fine. Just don't try anything funny again!"

Winter watches as she gets out of the tub and dries off. She stays in the tub herself even after her friend takes all of her belongings and leaves the bathroom. She leans back and sighs, letting herself get lost in thought.

"Winter! I thought we were getting out!" Her friend calls out from another room in the apartment.

"Yeah, I'm comin'!"

Winter gets up and drains the water, then grabs an extra towel from underneath the sink and wraps it around herself. She walks out into the living room to find her friend already dressed and making tea.

"Wanna watch a movie with me? You can pick it." Winter asks.

She replies without looking up.

"Get dressed, and I'll gladly watch a movie with you."

Winter smirks and heads to her room to get dressed. She found out something very interesting about her childhood friend and there's no way she can go on without teasing her about it, at least for a little while.

-So, Winter isn't too fond of romance in general and finds it hard to even understand the feelings in the first place. It takes them a while to even accept the fact that they do have a crush on you and they think it's unbearably awkward even when you don't know about it.

-Seeing someone as pretty as you makes them question themselves. How should they act? Do they look alright? Do you like their style? Are they being too blunt? Poor Winter overthinks it seeing as they've never experienced it before.

-It's not too obvious that they have any sort of crush on you and you'd honestly guess that they are annoyed by you more than anything. In reality, they can't help but look over when you brush against their arm or hand and try to keep themselves from going pink.

-That being said, if you're very expressive about the crush you have on them, it might take a little bit for them to pick up the hints. Winter doesn't realize that what you're giving is hinting towards a crush. They might be smart but romance is all new to them!

-Just knowing that you like them back (when they eventually realize the hints..) would give them the biggest sense of relief.

-If you're more shy/less obvious about it, they'll just treat it as normal, thinking that you only think of them as a friend. They wouldn't want to ruin the relationship they have with you just in case.

-As for confessions, it could either be you confessing or Winter. It really depends on how you drop hints. Less subtle ones will cause Winter to be more confident in their confession while if you don't drop many/only subtle ones, you'll have to confess.

-Winter's confession would be very straightforward with little beating around the bush. They'll be a little bit nervous and hesitate at first but, it'll be a honest confession. They won't make it romantic (because they don't know how..) but they do try to make it honest so you know they're not lying about their feelings!

-While if you were the one to confess, you'll catch their cheeks growing pink as you say it, whether it be straightforward or not. It's honestly endearing to see such a serious and blunt person get all embarrassed over you telling them how much you love them <3

Your marriage to William James Moriarty was a secret well-kept until a snowy winter day in December. 

It had been a simple courthouse wedding. His family had been there. Albert and Louis as witnesses. But the rest of his little ‘entourage’ had shown up in celebration as well. James Bonde and Sebastian Moran had shown up with bottles of wine to celebrate what they said was “a day that they thought would never come.”

Fred Porlock had been sweet and gifted you a bouquet of daffodils. He had told you later that they represent new beginnings, and he wanted to welcome you to their little family.

It took all your strength not to burst into tears right at that moment.

You hadn’t even worn a wedding dress, for heaven's sake! Instead, you wore a simple white blouse with beige trousers because you didn’t want to purchase much less tailor white ones. William had worn his regular brown suit and red tie.

Oh, how your mother would’ve had your head had she found out. How improper you were!

You didn’t even take a proper honeymoon persay. William had instead surprised you with a trip back to Egypt to visit the locals of your latest dig. You hadn’t been on an excavation in ages, and they were more than happy to welcome you and your new husband with open arms.

Husband…

You were officially married. No longer a Holmes and no longer tied to your family.

You were free.

Well… as free as a woman could be, that is.

All that was left was to tell your parents and brothers.

The aforementioned secret marriage was kept a secret for approximately thirteen months before it got out. In fact, you managed to keep it a secret up until William asked if he could break the news to your family over Christmas dinner. 

He asked you over breakfast around a week before Christmas Day. You had moved into his estate soon after the marriage was finalized. 

“Might I ask you a question?” He asked politely, and you looked up from your ham and eggs, raising an eyebrow as you did so. 

“Sure.” You said as you swallowed your mouthful and cleared your throat. 

“How do you feel about telling your parents about our marriage?” At this, you choke on your inhale and proceed to cough until you almost feel lightheaded. 

William—used to your dramatic reactions by now—sits patiently as you try to gain some semblance of control over your body. 

“What brought this up?” You demand, and he shrugs, taking a sip of his tea. 

“It’s been over a year now. Don’t you think it’s time to tell them?” You look down at your hands, fisted in your shirt, and grit your teeth, mulling it over. 

He was right… it had been over a year since you went no contact with your family save for Sherlock. Of course, he relayed messages from them to you. But you never responded besides telling them to sod off. 

At least Sherlock understood where you were coming from and didn’t push the issue too much. Perhaps then he would know why you had kept your marriage a secret until now? 

So… with that in mind… you agree, and William sends out invites to Sherlock, Mycroft, and your parents that day. You also send out an invitation to John and Mary and their new baby girl as moral support. 

Sherlock responds almost immediately by phoning William and enthusiastically saying he’d be delighted to come to the Moriarty estate for dinner. Mycroft responds via phone the next day, confirming his and your parents' attendance at this growing Christmas party. 

The day of the surprise comes all too quickly. 

You dress that day in a white blouse, a bold, crimson suit coat, and matching trousers. Just as you’re buttoning your blouse, you hear a knock on your bedroom door. 

“Come in!” You call as you finish the last button and turn to see William closing the door behind him. 

“Are you ready?” He asks, and you shake your head almost immediately. 

“I never am when it comes to my parents.” You say honestly, and he offers a smile that you like to think is reserved just for you. It crinkles the corners of his eyes and curls his lips rather attractively. You smile back and then head to the bathroom connected to your bed chambers for your jewelry box. 

It was William’s wedding present to you. A beautiful cherry wood box that contained jewelry you had collected over the years. Most of it was gifts from the locals you had gone on expeditions to. 

But…

There was one piece of jewelry that was not a gift to them. 

And that was your wedding band. 

It was a plain gold band, nothing too extravagant. Just the way you wanted it. And while it was simple and nondescript, you only wore it if you were going to events with William as his wife. He wore a matching one for the same reasons. And he slid his onto his ring finger just as you did the same for yours. Then, your husband extends a hand.

“Shall we go downstairs to greet your family? Sherlock is already in the parlor, and we are expecting everyone else soon enough.”

Your parents arrive just as it’s beginning to snow outside. 

Mycroft is watching disapprovingly as you coo over baby Clara, John, and Mary’s baby girl. She’s almost a year old and already starting to crawl and toddle about. You could practically smell his disapproval of your outfit, but you paid him no mind. Once this announcement is done with, you never have to speak to him again.

Your parents burst into the parlor, spooking you and Clara. The baby girl starts to whimper, so you hand her back to Mary and go to greet your parents. 

“Oh, dearest, couldn’t you wear the Christmas dress we purchased for you this year?” Your mother says immediately as you approach, and your face sours. 

“Well, hello to you too, Mother.” You grumble but give her a hug nonetheless. Your father extends his hand, and you shake it. Luckily, it was your right hand, so you simply kept your left with the ring in your trouser pocket. 

“If I might interrupt,” Comes William’s smooth voice, and you jump. You hadn't heard him come up behind you. “Dinner is served.” He finishes and ushers everyone to the dining room. He offers a comforting smile, and you reach out boldly to squeeze his hand. 

He doesn’t pull away. At least not until you reach the dining room and have to separate to sit with your respective families. 

Dinner was brought out, and just before everyone dug in, William stood and tapped his spoon against his wine glass. 

“Before everyone tucks in, we have an announcement to make.” He says, making eye contact with you, and you realize very quickly what he is doing. 

It’s time. 

Your heart starts thundering like horses in your veins, and you hear blood roaring in your ears. But you get up and make your way around the table to his side and take his hand just as he says,

“I suppose I should say my wife and I have an announcement to make.” 

It’s silent for a beat. Then two. 

Then noise. 

Your mother promptly bursts into tears. Whether out of happiness or disappointment, you have no idea. Your father grew red in the face and nearly started shouting before he remembered his manners. Mycroft simply sits back in his seat, stunned into silence. Sherlock’s face broke into a brilliant grin.

“I knew it!” He crowed and slammed his hand down on the table happily. 

You stand awkwardly as you wait for the noise to die down. William doesn’t let go of your hand the entire time. But… eventually… your parents get their emotions under control.

“Absolutely not! I will not have you associating with someone as stained a reputation as the Moriartys!” Your father bellows, and you hold back a flinch. It wasn’t often he got this angry.  And, of course, you knew what “stained reputation” your father was talking about. The burning of the Moriarty estate back when they were mere children had been quite the scandal. You remembered hearing about it when you were but a tiny tot. 

“You asked that I marry. I did. So now you have no right to judge whom I court, much less marry. I expect my dowry is still in your hands? And that you’ll keep your promise?” You say quickly, curtly, emotionlessly. You didn’t have the patience for his antics right now. He wanted you to marry in order to fund your excavations but didn’t want you to marry certain people? Where was the logic in that? And your family was all about logic.

“Please, dearest, think about what you’ve done! To marry into the Moriarty family is to stain our family name!” Your mother pleads, but you just roll your eyes. 

“I don’t see you chastising Sherlock about his choice of friends.” You snap back and very nearly leave right then and there. 

William is the only thing keeping you here. You can feel the tears burning as they threaten to fall. You just wanted your family to be happy for you. Was that too much to ask?

“That’s different!” Your father all but shouts, and you watch your husband raise an eyebrow. 

“Pray tell me how it is any different?” He says, and you shiver at his frosty tone of voice. 

“She’s a woman! That’s reason enough!” Your mother blubbers, dabbing at her falling tears with a handkerchief. Now, it’s William’s turn to roll his eyes. He takes a moment, entwining your fingers together as he looks at the ceiling. 

“Your daughter is perfectly capable of marrying whom she wishes. This is precisely why we didn’t say anything when we married nearly thirteen months ago.” 

That sentence sends your father into another shouting fit. 

“Thirteen months?!” He roars, and William smirks, letting go of your hand in order to lean both palms on the table. 

“Yes, quite right. And you will listen closely to my next words.” He said smoothly, and your parents both went silent. Mycroft still has yet to say anything, and Sherlock is simply sitting back in his chair with a shit-eating grin on his face. 

William leans back once again to take your hand. 

“You will fulfill your promise to your daughter. And hand over her dowry. Though we have little need for the money. But imagine the scandal that would erupt if you didn’t?” Your mother swallows audibly, and your father glares at your husband. He looks back cooly, not backing down. 

In the end, William wins the little starring contest, and your father averts his eyes. 

“Fine.” He growls, and William smiles,

“I’m glad we could come to an understanding. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I am going to go comfort my wife.” He says and gently turns you around to head for the dining room doors. 

“Wait, Liam.” Sherlock’s voice breaks through your raging emotions, and you stop, turning to face the middle child of the Holmes family. Your husband turns and looks at him,

“Yes?” Sherlock stands, that same smile on his face as he studies the two of you. “Was your marriage the only announcement you had to make?” He asks innocently, and you glare at him. 

Of course, he knew already.

William hums briefly before his lips curled in a devious grin,

“Oh yes, I almost forgot.” He says and puts a hand on the small of your back.

“We are expecting.” He says and leaves your brothers to deal with your dramatic parents once again.

1. “Let’s watch some movies from Studio Ghibli (or Disney, or Pixar)!”

Every evening was a kind of ritual and the best form of relaxation for you, your husband and your two children; first you had supper together (usually delicious sandwiches with cheese and lots of vegetables, baked sausages and oatmeal cookies that your daughters absolutely loved), then it was time for a bath full of fun and laughter – your girls liked so much spending time in a bathtub filled with white foam. They also enjoyed to splash William with water and thus pretend to be two cute whales. At the very end, it was always time for fairy tales and conversations between the four of you. Of course, your daughters were the ones who set the rules so they always chose your evening entertainment. With a bowl full of popcorn, hot tea and dimmed lights, everything seemed to have its own unique atmosphere. When winter comes, the only light brighten up the living room were golden Christmas lights and candles. However, due to the fact that it was currently summer, only one small lamp in the corner of the room was on, not disturbing anything.

“... Let’s watch some movies from Disney!” Lily – your older daughter – screamed and jumping on the couch, and you just laughed as you turned on the TV. Netflix really was a useful thing in your apartment and you definitely couldn’t function without it. Especially when you had two kids.

“Yes!” Added your younger one – Sophia – and William caught her mid-jump and sat her down on the mattress, handing her a bowl of still-warm popcorn. “Let’s watch some movies from Disney!” She repeated the words of her sister two years older than her, then busied herself eating the salt corn, which crunched loudly in her mouth.

“I want to see Ariel!”

“Mommy, no! Please, please play movie with Merida! I miss Merida!” She spat a few grains onto the sheets. William sighed as he picked them all and placed everything on a handkerchief on the glass table next to the huge sofa.

“Hmm... How about Mulan?” You asked quite seriously, putting your hand on your left hip in the process. In your right hand you held a small black remote control and you were ready to turn on one of the fairy tales on the platform. Your daughters looked at you with wide eyes, then at each other and squealed happily, clapping their hands and nodding their heads in agreement. You sighed with relief. In the last month, you’ve watched ‘The Little Mermaid’ twelve times and ‘Brave’ fifteen times...

“Mulan! Mulan!” They screamed as they ran across the couch and you turned on the movie. William, on the other hand, tried to calm your kids, fearing that one of them would fall or, worse, break something. Although your daughters were your perfect little versions, they definitely had Albert’s character...

“Shush, peanuts! Focus on watching Mulan and Mushu’s adventures!” Your husband said seriously, though out of the corner of your eye you saw him fighting the urge to laugh at the sight of your laughing children.

When the Disney fairy tale began, and you sat next to the younger girl, you turned your head slightly to your partner, who was watching the well-known story with curiosity.

“... Wouldn’t you like to have third daughter?” You asked with a chuckle escaping your lips and William raised his right eyebrow.

“I’d prefer a son... At least we could watch ‘Cars’ or ‘Toy Story’...” He replied quite seriously and you just grabbed your stomach lightly. In the darkness, however, your beloved did not notice it.

Well... Maybe this time you both will have the son Will wants? But you didn’t want to tell your husband yet. His birthday was coming up soon, so you tried to keep it a secret until that day and make it a present.

So over time I’ve grown to realize that, in terms of fictional characters I tend to gravitate towards, I have a type. Namely, the “she’s really fucked-up, but maybe I could fix her” type of female character.

The earliest example I can name is, of course, Princess Azula from Avatar: the Last Airbender. Later on, I gravitated to such characters as Jamie Moriarty from Elementary, and Sarah Manning and Delphine Cormier from Orphan Black. There’s another character I’m choosing to omit for reasons (but if you know, you know). Then when I got into RWBY, Winter Schnee, Raven Branwen, and Cinder Fall drew my affections — especially Raven.

In the realm of anime, there are definitely a few characters who fit this type for me. Altair from Re:CREATORS, Katsuragi Misato (and Akagi Ritsuko to a lesser extent) from Neon Genesis Evangelion, Jean from Claymore, Medea from Fate/Stay Night, Kiryuuin Satsuki from Kill La Kill, and Croix Meridies from Little Witch Academia.

Observe the weird finger-like marking made by one of the bloodstains and the scratches on the suitcase. The latter was probably forced open.

Considering the number of signs the killer left, he was clearly in a hurry…

Well, based on that shoeprint we can find the killer if we can find traces of blood on his shoe.

Ah! If it was raining in Durham, then there would be traces of mud on the killer’s shoes. I remember early on in Detective Conan Shinichi, then newly shrunk, deduced Agasa was running in the rain based on the mud on his pants…this is similar.

The “washroom” (apparently a Canadian term, the British term is “water closet”) has privacy and a place to get rid of the evidence, to some extent.

…Oh, almost didn’t notice it until Hifumi hid behind Doppo and the angle changed to confirm the jacket was on the bed, but Hifumi doesn’t have his jacket on.

I think I saw a tweet that said something about a wall being wrecked (specifically “Wall: Ow…”) but I wasn’t sure of the context, so I saved it in my bookmarks…LOL, so that’s what it means?

Samatoki, I know you don’t like Ichiro…but please stop trying to preach what his 2nd character song says in the title…(i.e. Break the Wall, LOL)

Jyuto’s very much a “I’ll leave this problem to the other guy” guy.

When the Funi subs say “dame”, I think Samatoki is just referring to an “onna” (woman). It’s a bit of an odd choice, really…although I can’t go and interrogate whoever was responsible for it. I don’t have the authority or the contacts that will allow me to.

This is not the time for fighting one another!!!

Notably, in the manga, Jakurai was going to chaffeur Hifumi and Doppo to their place, but then he had to go to work and so they rode the train with their prize money. This “run from Special Forces” ending is better, I think, since people got grumpy at Jakurai for having to abandon them with the money.

*screams* I was thinking Tom, Rex and Iris worked for a foreign government! They work for Ichijiku – why didn’t I think of that?!

LOL, I couldn’t even tell what Tom was saying until I played it back…it’s English, just…said in a spot where you don’t expect it.

“…that scares me.” – This may be nitpicky of me, but osoreru is actually a derivative of osore (fear), so “it strikes fear in me”…? “It strikes fear in my heart”? What would sound right…?

Go, host mode Hifumi! (...but does that imply host mode Hifumi is the only “version” of Hifumi able to rap? Certainly, he was able to do Wrap and Rap without his jacket, right…?)

You can tell Tom still respects Jakurai after all this time because he (the former) calls him (the latter) “Sensei”. Also, this’ll be interesting, we haven’t seen many mics and speakers beyond the standard bad guy ones (depicted in both the anime and the manga).

My gosh! All I knew of this song was that m-flo, also responsible for Human Lost’s theme song (and notably they’re a hip hop group with techno influences), was responsible for this song. Man, this s*** slaps! It’s great! (Sorry, I’ve just never really had the chance to capitalise on all the info I gathered on EDM DJs when talking in terms of things from Japan…m-flo is basically the only act I know which does that, so I’m really excited…can’t you tell from how verbose I’m getting in this note?)

That’s interesting that Matenrou won and Tom still took the gold chair symbolism to represent him and the Secret Aliens as the victor instead.

Iris’s parts are awesome. M-flo has a female vocalist and so I’d assume Iris takes on Lisa’s (m-flo’s vocalist’s) parts.

…Hmm, Gentaro’s made a reference to the track “Me Against the World”, has he?...Maybe.

I’m not quite sure, but I think Ramuda said “majo” (witch) when he was referring to Beauty and the Beast in the English subs.

HypMic 13 (FINAL)

This is the beginning of the end and the end of the beginning…y’know, considering how stuff trended on Twitter, I’d say this anime’s gonna get a 2nd season, but you can’t really say that until it actually happens. I mean, Boueibu is much less popular than HypMic and that got a 2nd season…

This is the 1st episode where I woke up early enough to watch without spoilers and had no obligations to place over it, so…this is exciting, in its own sense, but in a sense, it could also be called “profoundly disappointing” because this experience is only available to me as of the final episode.

One of the tweets I saw a few weeks back came to mind – someone became interested in sakuga houkai (terrible animation, literally “animation collapse”) because of HypMic…I don’t know if that’s a good or a bad thing…

…Dude, you probably shouldn’t answer a call from someone who just revealed themselves to be a traitor last episode…*sweatdrops*

(Spoiler for rest of franchise) Hmm…Dice’s face is pretty straight. Assuming at this point we knew Dice was Otome’s son, this is a good poker face from him…!

This thing about gangs was mentioned in their profiles (although the words used implies they “went delinquent”), so it actually doesn’t surprise me.

I wonder if this subway exists in the mainline story…?

According to the next ep. preview I saw on Twitter, TDD will reform to take down the Secret Aliens. I’m not sure if that was a guess or whether that’s true, so I’m waiting for the shoe to drop on it.

There was definitely the word “team” in Dice’s line, so it’s “what the legendary team was made of”.

Notably, Iris’s rap in English missed the word “charisma” where it could have fit (unless I missed reading it the first time).

Note Samatoki does actually use the word “shinsensa” (freshness), so there’s no lie there.

I still love how much they went in on Rex’s theme, even in his raps.

…based on the rock intro, this is Rhyme Anima, the OP, or something that sounds similar. What I’d need to confirm this is the “nautilus” line and the “ends corruption” line, which are the OP’s two biggest tells for AMQ.

Not only is Iris a “ramen shop owner”, it’s Tom’s favourite food…No wonder ramen has significance to her.

…I knew it was far too early to say if there was an s2 – the DVD’s live events go until September 5th and the 2nd DRB finishes in March. That almost felt like a stinger right there. Oh well, I’m more than happy to call this anime a success, even if I would call it the worst of the arms of the franchise. All HypMic’s anime had to do was deliver fun, before anything else, and it delivered on that front. See you around!

Anime burnout means I’m coming back to the anime after the day it finishes.

This dancing scene is kind of like the one at the start of ep. 2 of IWGP, except it has the owl to represent the setting as well as the dance stage.

Leo doesn’t seem to know kanji or katakana, only hiragana.

Even though this part of the anime is set in London, the characters are still speaking Japanese (lel…?).

One more ep after this. I’m gonna miss this anime, even if it was crazy over-the-top and I didn’t finish it until after the day it ended.

I think the scariest scene in all of Akudama Drive is the one where the “cleaner” tosses the girl aside.

“This nowhere place!” – Around this time, the bunny and shark’s shirts say “morning”/”afternoon” (shark) and “evening” (bunny).

The blue bird of happiness…literally. That character on the birds is the one for “happy”.

…LOL, that one glitched Courier looks more like Cutthroat.

Hacker’s drone matches Courier’s head angles, LOL.

I guess if you think you’re falling in Kanto, you’re falling in Kanto and if you think you’re floating (like Courier did), you float. I always liked that concept.

War Games. Now the title makes sense!

…but they can be together if they stay here in Kanto as vessels for the citizens? (That sounds mighty antagonistic of me, but…that logic does compute.)

Akudama 12 (FINAL)

This episode isn’t named after a movie. It’s named after the anime itself.

The TV says “Please watch away from the TV”, i.e. stand back from the TV while you watch.

“They came and stole the offerings…” – At this point, bunny’s shirt says “freedom” and shark’s says honpou, meaning “wild, uninhibited, rampant, extravagant”.

…where did Shikoku come from? Is that where Swindler and Sister landed after they tried going to the moon?

Ohh! That Christian imagery! That’s scary!

Is Akudama Drive a tragedy? No, I think…on the contrary, it’s a story of hope.

LOL, “s*** guy”.

I thought the girl had a bomb. Turns out she has a gun, which is…far worse, come to think of it.

Instead of red characters which say things about the situation, now Shark and Bunny have Hacker’s symbol on them.

There’s no way anyone who wasn’t immortal would survive the attack Courier took…

…why is it that falling over represents vulnerability in children in all of these stores where a war has happened and/or there’s a chase? Hmm?

This blog was originally “theenigmaofkirkwall”, honestly just bc I couldn’t think of anything so I tried random phrases from the da wiki till I found something that worked. Then I figured if I linked them more it’d make it easier for people to possibly associate and work out it was me so Kirkwall+gremlin ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Something I’m Grateful For: I’m back at work with my kids and man it’s really reminded me how much I absolutely adore my job ❤️ teaching from home absolutely suuuucked and even more so now I’ve been reminded how wonderful it can be. And I’m also super grateful for everyone who’s validated and supported my creative pursuits over the last what, 9 months? And also that I’m living somewhere where we managed to crack down on the current pandemic situation pretty quickly and I’ve ended up relatively unnaffected.

Japanese Fans Pick Their Favorite Fall 2020 TV Anime by Online Voting

    One month after the "anticipation ranking" in early October, Japan's largest mobile phone operator NTT Docomo reported the result of its regular online research survey to ask the users of its streaming service dAnime Store which fall 2020 TV anime they were still watching as their favorites.

  The survey was conducted for one week between October 23 and 30, and a total of 151,791 votes were cast for the 46 titles that were available via the service. How have the Japanese viewers' opinions changed or not after they actually started watching the fall 2020 series?
