In the dark alleys of Harlem, where shadows danced to the tune of hustlers and conmen, there lived a man named Rufus. Rufus had a peculiar talent; he could feign ignorance like no other. With a tilt of his hat and a shrug of his shoulders, he played the fool to perfection, fooling even the sharpest of minds.

Rufus wandered the streets, his eyes glazed with an air of obliviousness, but beneath that facade lay a mind sharp as a razor. He would stumble into conversations, feigning confusion at every turn, yet absorbing every word like a sponge.

But as Rufus delved deeper into his act, something strange began to happen. His pretense of ignorance became so convincing that it began to seep into his very being. He found himself forgetting things he once knew, his mind clouded by the haze of his own deception.

Day by day, Rufus slipped further into the abyss of his own making. He forgot names, faces, even the streets he once called home. His once keen intellect dulled to a mere flicker, drowned out by the relentless tide of feigned ignorance.

And so, in the heart of Harlem, there lived a man who feigned ignorance until he knew nothing at all. A cautionary tale of a mind lost in the labyrinth of its own deceit, echoing through the streets long after Rufus himself had vanished into the shadows.

Bingqiu AU where Luo Binghe's the chosen village sacrifice to the evil deity who lives up the mountain.

Normally the village sends maidens, but they've more or less run out of expendable girls of the right age and, ahem, "virtues". So of course Luo Binghe's early life bad luck kicks in. In the wake of his mother's death there's no one to really care about what happens to him, he's fairly pretty, and the village leaders decide that if they dress him up like a girl the teenaged homeless kid should pass well enough. And hey, y'know, he's probably got a hard life ahead for him anyway -- dying in a brothel of some venereal disease or on the streets of exposure or starvation. At least as a sacrifice, everyone else gets to benefit from his loss! And the kid will get added to a shrine and be remembered as a hero! If anything, he should be happy about this!

Binghe is not happy about this.

But he's also a skinny underfed nobody who is easily overpowered, dressed up like a bride, and tied to a post. So. Not much he can do but wait for the evil deity to come and do whatever horrible thing he's gonna do to him.

Meanwhile, Shen Yuan is pretty sure he's been isekai'd into the over-powered hero of some kind of supernatural adventure story? He's not totally sure because he doesn't recognize the setting, but the signs are there. He's got a shrine-like base of operations (though it seems to have become corrupted/ruined, probably he has to restore it somehow), he has a very resilient and handsome new body with spiritual energy of some kind flowing through him, and a very clearly magical sword. Plus lots of neat starter powers! Though it feels like he has other abilities that have been blocked somehow? Probably he has to level up in order to access them.

When he treks out of his "base" and finds what seems to be a distressed maiden, he takes it for his beginner hero mission. The girl claims that she's been doomed to be sacrificed to an evil god. That sounds a little above Shen Yuan's pay grade for dealing with, so he unties her and decides that they had better just get out of the whole region altogether. He already packed up anything useful from his base, anticipating he might get caught up in an adventure once he left, so they follow the river away from the settlement until they reach another one.

While they travel, Luo Binghe tells Shen Yuan about the cursed deity, Shen Qingqiu, who was cast out of the heavens for slaughtering one of his brethren and has apparently being do-who-knows what to maidens from the local village in exchange for his "protection" ever since. Sounds like a real asshole! And also mid-level boss type bad guy at least. Shen Yuan hopes he doesn't have to fight him, but he probably will.

Thank goodness he found Binghe, though! Clearly the helpful little sister type! He's definitely going to require her assistance if he's going to figure out how to navigate this world and level up his skills enough to take on a god.

I hate men because today after years of my brother mocking me whenever I talk about something I’m well informed on by saying I did no research I finally told him how much it upsets me. So straight after he brought up my male assault statistics and called them fake before leaving.

The worst thing you can do to Alastor is... ignore him. Good attention, bad attention, he'll take it all, he'll make it all work. But ignoring him? Giving him nothing? Not a shred of attention, of acknowledgement? Oh this will drive him nuts!

If Lucifer and Alastor'll get into serious squabble, not their silly arguments, but something that shouldn't cut as deep from where they are now, Lucifer will take everything in his power to ignore Alastor's presence. Which wouldn't be easy with his reactionary nature. And Alastor... usually he just comes and takes what he wants. It worked before. And now... he is denied, and he is not the one to ask.

So they just slowly and painfully wear each other out.

I don't think we need to be constantly assuming good intentions, especially from people who regularly say offensive, insensitive and harmful things, then feign ignorance. Our permissive and forgiving nature, and our second-guessing and assuming they could still possibly mean well, is exactly how they can keep feigning ignorance, and a solid way to insure these people stay offensive and hurtful forever.

If people are simply 'not aware they're being rude and offensive' then we should tell them, every time, that they're rude and offensive. How else are they going to learn, if everyone keeps just going with it and accepting their behaviour as normal? If they mean well, they will apologize for being offensive, and learn from it. They'll never do it again.

If they attack you for calling them out, insisting you shouldn't call them out because they 'mean well', then they do not mean well, they want to be above criticism, above learning, they want their words to be accepted no matter how offensive they are. They don't care if they're offensive and there's no reason for us to forgive them or to tolerate it.

If every person who says offensive and ignorant thing, always has a horde of people insisting 'you can't call them out! they might have meant xyz! they might be raised to think like that!' then these people will feel perfectly safe and protected in their ignorance and believe they're right to be hurtful, and right to trash others. They'll feel safe attacking anyone who ever tries to call the out.

There's no need to fight for the world to stay insensitive, ignorant and harmful. Calling it out is not aggressive, it's stating a fact, it's supposed to be a neutral act. Offensive people do not need to be protected and catered to, they do not need endless defense of their feelings and actions.

People who are hurt, ostracized, trashed, devalued, dismissed, humiliated, and upset by the offensive crowd, they might use some defense. They need their feelings to be taken into account, because they've already been discounted by the aggressor. Defending the aggressive party only makes sure that the feelings of the victim are further ignored, walked over, and dismissed as non-important. We do not exist to forever take offenses and have our feelings walked all over, only to be expected to 'understand and forgive'. We are people too. Our feelings should matter just the same.

tbh it's still crazy 2 see progressive (ie western slash european & american i guess? yanno wat i mean. places wher we r nawt radicalised & illegalised into it oblivion) audiences have such (understandably) high standards 4 queer media or even queer representation as a whole & won't take less than. like i understand it's cause ya can expect better so ya will, in sum cases ya can even demand better. but it's simply nawt an option 4 many of us.

like idk perhaps a bit too harsh of me 2 say but regardless of the political atmosphere there's still a difference between livin' in a place where ya still have rights, have pride & can walk into a store etc & find queer literature & rep & even merch, have resources 2 support yrself & find yr community. & a place where as much as wavin' a pride flag or even havin' a pride pin, OR G-D FORBID holdin' yer partner's hand WILL get ya arrested & jailed. an' yr lucky if ya don' get assaulted or killed be4 dat can happen 🫥

It’s not like I can help much since I don’t have a twitter account but there has to be something we can do to pressure dream into actually releasing that goddamn video because I think we all know at this point that his plan is to continue to delay it until everyone “forgets” about the allegations, I think there should be a tag on twitter that everyone posts to once a week at the same time each week so it trends, proving that no one’s forgetting any time soon
