It's home cinema manufacturing time! 🏴‍☠️ Gonna put my pirate show on my shelf! (I'm doing an Arts and Crafts Project and I'm making it everyone's problem.)

After seeing how much they cost, I abandoned the idea of getting a Blu-ray writer for now. For the time being, good old DVDs is what it's going to be! My TV is old and not very big, so DVD resolution is gonna be fine.

It's been ages since I last burned a DVD. For the full experience, I'm gonna create nice menus and pretty sleeves for the boxes. Graphic design is my passion! Um.

Well. First needed to find a program to do stuff with. I'm a Linux guy, so I'm using Devede. (Which is free, btw. In case someone else wants to do a low cost spot of putting pirate show on the shelf.)

DVDs fit a maximum of 120 minutes of video. So, four episodes, I thought. But after a quick attempt, the program refused to do more than three (maybe because of the menu also taking up space, and four episodes cutting pretty close to the 120 min mark?). Anyway, three episodes per disc it is. It's a pretty nice runtime for watching the entire disc, IMO. An hour and a half, and then you can return to reality to realise you should probably eat something, or go to bed because it's midnight.

OFMD with its current two seasons has a total of eighteen episodes, which is divisible by three. You get the following setup:

Disc 1: Pilot, A Damned Man, The Gentleman Pirate - That's pretty good, Stede's introduction to piracy all on one disc!

Disc 2: Discomfort in a Married State, The Best Revenge is Dressing Well, The Art of Fuckery - All bangers. Great to watch together, our boys meet and shenanigans happen!

Disc 3: This is Happening, We Gull Way Back, Act of Grace - Many romantic moments, lots of great scenes, shit hits the fan at the end there. Alright!

Disc 4: Wherever you go, there you are, Impossible Birds, Red Flags - ... Pain and angst! What have I done!?! The disc of horrors. Gotta make sure to have tissues at hand when I watch this. But hey, it also has messy bun Ed! Small mercies.

Disc 5: The Innkeeper, Fun and Games, The Curse of the Seafaring Life. - Another disc with all winners. I love all these episodes so much! (You can watch this disc to recover from the trauma of the previous one!) But seriously, this one slaps.

Disc 6: Calypso's Birthday, Man on Fire, Mermen - Great combination again. Season finale! Love and excitement!

... Honestly, except for the psychological damage of putting all the most painful episodes together, this is coming out pretty cool. Says a lot about how good the show is. I actually really love all the episodes (yes even the painful angsty episodes of massive depression). Thinking about this little project really reminded me how much I love this entire show.

So, we got a tracklist, now menus, then we can burn this stuff!

I did the menu backgrounds in GIMP. Realised I have a big folder full of screenshots I took myself, screenshots someone else took and posted on Tumblr, official promo pics for the show, and I have no idea anymore where most of them are from, because I named the files according to what's on them. Which is useful for when you want to find pics (Need a picture of cursed suit Stede? I have files named that, easy peasy!), but not so great if you wanted to give credit to whoever took a given pic you used. (It's probably @sherlockig or @ofmd-ann or @blakbonnet. Please feel credited, your beautiful screens and gifs brighten my day, and some of them are now probably part of my DVD menus. Shrunk down and cropped, but, yeah.)

I originally wanted to structure my menus as having the title of an episode, then some pics from it, then the next episode, then pics from that, and so forth, but I couldn't convince the program to give me the necessary padding between the menu items, so I ended up just putting the episode images below the menu. Still like it.

"Last Temptation"

After episode 4 and the possible flash-forward, I just need to talk about this soundtrack. We haven't heard it in the show yet, and I'm pretty sure we're going to have to wait until the season finale. Bear McCreary is a master at combining leitmotifs to musically represent a scene, and I truly believe that this is the track that will play during the inevitable confrontation between Sauron and Galadriel.

Spoilers ahead for potential predictions, because I'm breaking this fucker down.

We start out with a soft soprano humming the melody of "Where The Shadows Lie". For those who don't remember the full version from the first season, it's the one with lyrics:

Three rings for the Elven kings under the sky Seven for the dwarf lords in their halls of stone Nine for mortal men doomed to die One for the dark lord on his dark throne In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them One ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie

So far, we've already heard this melody quite a bit, since it's often played when something sinister and ring-related is going on. It also plays with a full symphonic orchestra during the Annatar reveal in he soundtrack called "Emissary at the Forge", which I'd personally say is actually Annatar's theme. I could go on a rant with that one to, but to put it briefly: We've got "Sauron" and "Where The Shadows Lie" played on Elven-coded instruments. Does it get more Annatar than that?

Okay. So. The scene opens with dark ring shenanigans and/or Annatar. It's dark. It has tension. It's the eerie calm before the storm.

At 0:40, the mood changes. We get strings, followed by male choir and sharp brass, leading us straight into Sauron's theme. It's not as chaotic as "Sauron" from season 1. We have a steady 4/4 rhythm compared to the whatever the hell is going on in the original theme. The core melody and the ostinato on the strings are unmistakable though. We're dealing with Sauron.

1:05 is where things start to escalate. We move between sharp female vocals and softer orchestral interludes that almost seem to fight each other, leading up to the magnificent 1:36. Galadriel's leitmotif on brass, with a note lowered just a half step to give it dissonance. If "Emissary At The Forge" is Elven-coded "Sauron", then this is Sauron-coded "Galadriel". It's not ethereal. It's not harmonic. It's intense, and I can't wait to see what Galadriel is actually doing here during this part. Fighting, most likely. Viciously.

After a brief breather, we reach 1:59 where Sauron's leitmotif returns, sung by a single soprano. No string ostinato. Just the main melody, performed with the same eerie vibe as "Where The Shadows Lie" in the intro. The orchestra builds, losing some dissonance as more instrument joins... and then we're suddenly back in a much more triumphant version of Galadriel's theme at 2:25. Something has shifted here. The dynamics are different. Maybe she's getting the upper hand? But here comes the kicker, Sauron's ace up his sleeve: Halbrand's theme.

A soft whisper of a dulcimer breaks free from the symphonic orchestra at 2:30, followed by a Nordic nyckelharpa at 2:35. There are hints of Halbrand's theme in other season 2 tracks too, but not like this. We're not just dealing with elements of Halbrand's theme here. This is Halbrand's theme, with the original instrumentalization. In episode 4, we catch a glimpse of Sauron in a flickering montage of images, looking almost exactly like he did during the battle in the Southlands. I strongly suspect that when we get to that scene, it's going to be backed up by this exact part of the soundtrack. It lasts for almost half a minute. The battle has been put on pause. Has Galadriel's feelings for the man she thought she knew caught up with her? Something emotional is happening here. Something that involves their time together, back when they were still allies.

At 2:56, the battle is on again. The sharp female choir is back, sounding even more erratic. More urgent. Galadriel's leitmotif returns, now with the right note but at doubled speed. She's retaliating.

The next major point happens at 3:47, where things suddenly go quiet. We shift into Sauron's leitmotif on soprano again, which transitions into Galadriel's, and then back to Sauron's. It's really, really smooth, and I can only applaud Bear for the execution. The themes should be incompatible, but nope, he makes it work.

At 4:53, something really interesting happens. Both "Sauron" and "Galadriel" have string ostinatos. Ostinatos are short, reoccurring melodies, and Bear often use them to back up the "main" motifs. At this time stamp, we're hearing a new ostinato that sounds an awful lot like Sauron's and Galadriel's combined. It's not as dissonant as Sauron's, but it's not as clean as Galadriel's either. I can still hear both in it, though. We're no longer just shifting back and forth between the soundtracks - they've actually merged. I have no clue what that means but I can't wait to find out. Is this her "Last Temptation"? Did he give her the same proposal again? Is she tempted?

The music builds again. At 5:27, we hear a short, explosive burst of Galadriel's theme on brass baked into an epic soundscape. Whatever it was that just happened, she's snapped out of it. She faced her temptation and turned it down. We hear the direct result of this at 5:39, where we get Sauron's theme sounding a lot more like the one from season 1 again. No more soft soprano. We're back to male choir. (I think it's worth mentioning that traditionally, male choir more evil-coded than female, so that's neat.)

If there was ever any doubt whether or not she resisted the temptation, we get a confirmation at 6:03. Galadriel's theme on harp, backed up by a soft female choir. She chose the light. Again.

The final half minute is orchestral, but the battle is over. There's peace. A touch of triumph, a touch of melancholy, but there's definitely peace.

Okay. I think I'm done. Bear is a genius so I'm sure there are even more easter eggs in there, but these are the ones I caught.

EDIT: During that final half minute, we actually get a bit of Elrond's theme. Is he the one who interrupts the altercation? Is that how the fight comes to an end? I'm really interested in seeing how that plays out. TLDR: Bear created a Sauron/Galadriel/Halbrand medley and I'm in awe.

Some rambling personal thoughts on Astarion's endings since I can't sleep.

I find myself really loving Astarion's spawn endings and ALL of their variations even more the more I think about them (the exception ofc being the cursed af endings where you don't help him AT ALL and he either gets turned into a zombie or is still being hunted by cazador even after the game, but I'm obviously not talking about those).

I think I, like many others who grew very attached to his character, were left feeling very torn over his initial spawn ending before the added epilogue. Because Astarion being free from cazador and learning to truly relish in that freedom AND use it towards more positive ends is the entire point of his spawn endings. But we don't really get the chance to see that fully paid off in the narrative. One could argue that we do see the very beginnings of it with the graveyard scene and the morning after scene and how he makes several comments about never being a slave again after he kills cazador. But then we get a rather painful reminder of the fact that he's still been forced to give up something he's come to love and cherish so much over the course of your journey. And then we just kinda end on that note.

I definitely didn't regret keeping Astarion a spawn, even after that. But I will admit there was a part of me that still really wanted to see more for him. And that's why I really do adore the epilogue. I know people have their issues with it and say it's unrealistic for Astarion to be so "healed" after only 6 months but I disagree with this take because we're literally only seeing a glimpse of him on one really good, happy night, it's not necessarily a reflection of how he usually is. He could very well still be having days where he struggles, and he almost certainly does. But comparing his previous 200 years to his possible (good) spawn endings, it's not really surprising that he's thriving. Same with the "counterweight" comment. He's not saying the 6 months you've been together completely negates and erases the 200 years of torture. He's saying his freedom and your love have been such a HUGE contrast to what he's had to live through for so long that they feel like a counterweight to the horrors.

I think about how far he has to come for him to actually get to those endings. His bounty hunter/adventurer ending? Amazing! He's relishing in violence and living his best rouge life. Leading the spawn in the Underdark? Speaks so much to his character development that he actually cares enough about them to even attempt such a massive undertaking. Lots of potential for healing of course but also: Holy shit the potential for unhinged shenanigans as well. Going to the hells with Karlach? Incredible! He's not just getting to enjoy tearing up cambions all day he's devoted to Karlach and helping her it's literally so beautiful.

Something else I really adore about his spawn ending vs. his ascended ending is that he burns down cazador's palace in his spawn ending. Burns it to the ground and destroys it for good. Whereas ascended Astarion literally moves into the palace and like...sure you can headcanon that maybe he eventually has a new, even grander palace built. But the mental image of Astarion wandering those halls is just so fucking sad to think about. He could go anywhere and do anything but he's still physically occupying the space that hosted so many horrors and tortures for him. And it to me that just screams that he's still there mentally.

I'll always defend people who like the ascended ending because I understand the appeal of it. As a dark romance enjoyer, I very much understand the appeal of the dark consort ending. And I don't even think this is the "worst" ending for Astarion because there's at least still potential for him (as opposed to the endings where he dies or is still being hunted, which ARE the worst endings for him). But it does feel like a step backward for him. And I think the people who go "Well this is just NATURAL character progression for him he's selfish af of course he would want this" Think too little of him or at least underestimate his capacity to care for others.

Because he very obviously DOES care. And allowing him to get to a place where he can foster that sense of compassion for others is truly so beautiful and so profound to see. I'm someone who is easily moved by fiction already but Astarion's story really touches my heart just because of how rewarding it is to see how far he comes in those endings.

You know these scenes where Bruce just switches between his personas like a tennis match? Like the thing Adam West's Bruce Wayne did? I love them SO much! And now I'm here imagining all kinds of scenarios.

Like. He's with the JLA and he's Bruce Freaking Wayne, so he has all kinds of contacts and reach and stuff. And bc of shenanigans he has to call someone in a high position of power and convince them to do something. Now here's the problem: The guy doesn't care for any heroes and blackmail wouldn't work for whatever reason, but he owes a huge favor to Wayne but also thinks Brucie Wayne is legit a huge dumbass and can't get anything done. That's where the Justice League comes in. The League is the serious party that makes the terms and Brucie cashes that enormous favor in, EXCEPT, they want that powerful guy to do something in Gotham, which means he wants to talk with Batman, and also have Wayne there as a way to get him to back out and forget about the favor. He thinks that would work because he expects the Bat to do something to piss off Bruce or for Bruce to think this is too much responsibility for him to have. Which basically just boils down to Bruce having to argue with himself, which he should be a master at at this point, and change his voice and word choice every two sentences.

And the League jumps in a few times to help settle matters and soothe bruised egos (between B and B and the guy. Batman just subtly insults the man the longer this goes on) while being really weirded out by a Batman with Brucie Wayne's voice. Like, they'll play along but how did they get here???

Or this but with the Batkids. Just imagine a four-way-version of this, except Bruce plays the roles Father of Five(or more, depending on how you look at it) and Batman and then Damian comes in and speaks as himself plus someone he can't stand (he has perfect voice mimicry as far as I know), so he'd be forced to see things out of the other person's perspective while keeping his own stance and not loosing his temper when he starts insulting himself bc they would be arguing at this point. And the rest are watching while eating popcorn, silently shaking their heads, bc what insanity is this?

OR Bruce gets arrested in his early Batman years and his plan involves making it look like he's been interrogated by Batman. He deactivates the cameras and blocks the door and covers the two-way mirror, so only his voice can get through the door where the cops are listening in and halfheartedly trying to break the door down. They have to help the billionaire, so he doesn't make them problems like sue them, but they also don't care or hate him bc he gets in their way a lot with his "no-corruption" policy. And no one asks themselves how Batman could have possibly entered or escaped the room without anyone noticing, bc "that guy's a freaking vampire or some shit, obviously he can do that, Steve".

Anyway, just wanted to share my ideas. Feel free to ignore this, or use this as inspiration if you want. Or anyone else.

We learned about disney in film class this week and my mind was infected by images of twst boys lmaoo this game is a disease

I've had a turbulent week but its finally time for the holidays which means.... more schoolwork because our school doesnt subscribe to mental health

Lately, Riddle has been unfocused in class. This is very much unlike him, and he realises this. For him, being this distracted is like a death sentence to his perfect test scores.

He needs to get to the bottom of this, and quick.

Classes are over for the day and he's returning to his dorm to check up on the rose maze. Soon, it will be time for an unbirthday party and he must make sure everything is progressing smoothly.

Especially the painting of the roses, which was started a little late this time.

Ace and Deuce ended up complaining to you about the workload and since you have nothing to do anyways you decided to join them in painting the roses. Grim opted out of it this time since he "has better things to do".

You hummed to yourself as you painted the first rose on a heart shaped bush by yourself.

"What are you doing here?" a strict voice stopped you in your tracks. You'd recognise that voice anywhere. You probably should have asked if it was fine for you to help out beforehand, but you've helped without his permission before, even if it was on account of a certain first year's stupidity.

"I was bored and Ace and Deuce were complaining, so I decided to join. Don't tell me you're mad about free labour from the good of my own heart?" you added the final spot of paint to the rose, pouting back at him dramatically.

"I am thankful for your help, I don't know why you would make such an accusation." And yet, he still looked pissed off for some reason.

You stepped off from the stepstool, moving closer to him and humming. "Then why do you look like an old grumpy persian cat right now?"

"What- I do not!" he defended himself, cheeks turning a little pink as he crossed his arms.

In reality, he's angry that you're doing more work than you have to. He knows how horrible it is to be overworked a little too well and he wants you to be well rested and happy under every circumstance, not helping out when you really don't need to.

"I'll paint the roses. Don't bother yourself. I am much faster because I can simply transform them with my magic anyways." He moved past you, stepping up on the stepstool (which was unnecessary since he can use magic from a distance).

He doesn't really know why, but he gets the urge to protect you sometimes. Even from a task like painting the roses.

"If you say sooo..." you sat down on the soft grass, watching Riddle paint rose after rose. You have to admit, the slight smile on his face is quite adorable.

You could get used to watching this.

"Hey! Get back here, you stupid weasel!" you heard Ace's voice from somewhere in the rose maze. Weasel...? There's only one weasel you know.

And sure enough, in a few seconds Grim was running past you with a mischevious look on his face and a magical pen in his mouth, which you presume belongs to Ace.

Seems he got bored of "all the better stuff he had to do" and decided to cause trouble for poor Ace again. You got up, trying to grab him but ultimately failed in doing so.

"Wait right there!" Riddle yelled after Grim, attempting to stop him with his magic but he was a moment too late with Grim dissapearing behind a corner.

A few moments after him, Ace came running around the corner. "Where did he go?!" he asked frantically, whipping his head around at all the paths where Grim could have gone.

"That way." you pointed casually, already used to their shenanigans.

Ace quickly ran past you, accidentally moving the stepstool in the process and making Riddle stumble and fall over.

You quickly caught him, softening his fall. Thank god you were standing so close to him.

"Wha..." he whispered, cheeks turning red again. What in the world is this feeling? It feels like his chest is tightening, but it feels... good? Being caught in your arms is strange.

"Are you okay?" you asked, concerned by the look on his face.

"I umm.... I am completely fine." Riddle cleared his throat, straightening up and taking a singular step away from you.

"Are you sure? Because you look pretty shaken up to me." you moved close to him again, inspecting his face up close.

"You must be doing that on purpose." he felt like his heart was about to explode out of his chest. Now that he thinks about it, this feeling is similar to the one he gets during class. The one he can't get rid of for the life of him.

"What do you mean?" you asked innocently. You really want to kiss his red cheeks right now, but with Riddle you never know if they're red from anger or... something else. You don't want to take any chances, but it's hard to hold back around him sometimes.

"Nevermind. Just do something about those two!" he huffed, turning his head away, face now completely red.

Oops, looks like you ended up painting the housewarden red instead of the roses.

Rodimus losing the battle against his carrier instincts as the minis use it against him. They want to get up to a little mischief, and their other friends probably won't help, so they have to go for their laidback captain who has a soft spot for them that he desperately tries to hide! They use classic manipulation tactics on him, and it's not until after they walk off does Rodimus realize "wait a klik..."

And yet he still finds himself arguing against Ultra Magnus and Megatron with three not-so-guilty minibots hiding behind him.

Whirl is blatantly snickering, Cyclonus and Chromedome are at least trying to hide their amusement. How kind, Rodimus almost can't tell, he just needs to ignore their field.

All the while he's just wondering what his life has come to. At least they got a new minibot onboard who hasn't caused trouble yet, but that's probably because they're heavily traumatized and haven't received help yet because their piece of shit sire left them out- Megatron, stop looking at him like that.

Ooh stop! Because now i’m having thoughts of

- Megatron being like the sire to the sparkling on accident because yeah he’s huge and scary but he took off his helmet so the mini he mistook for a child would feel calm after being so overwhelmed.

- the mini woke up in the medbay and Rodimus wasn’t beside them since he had to take care of the paperwork and get the ship ready for launch.

- the mini has seen Megatron as a sort of sire ever since watching his finials flicker and wave. The mini is so entranced with the finial colors and how they flicker and dim they reach out to try and touch them. And oh boy does that almost make Megatron cry since he’s never let a soul besides his creators touch his helm finials.

- megatron is sitting locked away in his room shaking trying not to cry with the mini swallowed up in his arms, all comfortable when Rodimus finds them and takes an image capture. Or 17.

- Rodimus is the type to let the carriers off with their shenanigans but Megatron does not. Stern, simple punishments that get the point across are given but when it comes to the mini they basically adopt and co-creator, they both just melt since the bitty is so sweet and never does any wrong.

- you can find the bitty looking small in the crook of Megatrons arm or attached to Rodimus’s hip like a sparkling.

- every decepticon knew Megatron had a soft spark for sparklings so it wasn’t a surprise but no one knew Rodimus was a carrier or had a soft spark in general for new sparks.

- drift is extremely shocked the very first time he sees Rodimus being a creator for the mini that didn’t even have a designation!

- Rodimus was so focused on taking care of the mini he didn’t stop to think how odd it must seem to others or that he exposed himself as a carrier.

- Rodimus definitely lives up to his status when they see him easily command ship or do paperwork with the mini laying in his arm recharging while he works with his only free servo.

- Drift is not expecting to see this or Rodimus with a mini on his hip that looks happy to be there! The others minis will literally climb onto Rodimus and sit on his shoulders and he lets them! Rodimus doesn’t mind and they know this but its still so odd for Drift to see his carefree amica be so responsible and do a complete 180 while still being his regular self!

- Tailgate sits on Rodimus lap with the traumatized mini and has the easiest time getting the mini to relax besides Rodimus and Megatron.

- its an observation for Cyclonus but a teasing joke Whirl makes. The traumatized mini looks exactly like a mix of Megatron and Rodimus. They have a spoiler and helm like Rodimus with red optics like Megatron along with Megatrons color plating.

- whirl doesn’t make too many jokes about the mini anymore. Not after he made a particularly poor tasted joke about the mini’s sire trying to offline them and their carrier letting it happen. The crew forgets how violent Rodimus can be and how hard he can hit. Their captain is often so happy go-lucky around them being immature, that they forgot he was one of high command for a reason.

- Whirl is in the medbay for a fee weeks after Rodimus finished with him—when they could successfully pull him off— the mech gives a short apology to the traumatized mini and the medical staff don’t have to worry about Rodimus coming in to finish the job.

-every bot gets a valuable lesson only the oldest bots among the ship were able to witness before the war.

Never mess with a carriers sparkling.

- Rodimus spends days in his hab with the mini right alongside Megatron who takes shorter shifts and spends most of his time with the two. They don’t even notice how close they’ve become while taking care of the mini.

- its not until the mini asks them to name them do they realize they’ve become co-creators.

- panic ensues.

- panic between the two of them. Both physically and verbally.

- their mini creation just sits back and watches it unfold and when they try to say something, the response from Megatron and Rodimus is a simultaneous—

“Not now Nebulas.”

“Nebulas? My designation… is Nebulas?”

They..didn’t plan on that. Don’t even know how they said the same name at the same time or where it came from. Rodimus assumes its their love of freedom that the stars give them and Megatron thinks its the hope spaces endless possibilities grant them.

- in the end they calm down and celebrate their mini’s designation while trying not to blush at each other

Hey there lovelies, I hope your Monday started your week off well <3 As I'm sitting here typing this I have my son asleep under one arm, so I apologize if this is a bit scattered. I saw this infographic today and it made me think of you all. I don't know about you, but I spent a lot of my life thinking I had to do everything, excel at everything, have all the money, and the car, and the house, and the kids, etc. But you know what? Life isn't about having everything. It's about finding the things you love and matter most to you and focusing on them. The things that matter most to me will absolutely be different from everyone else (we may share some of the same) but no two people are exactly the same when it comes to interests, and thats beautiful. Dig deep into the things you love crew, and remember you don't have to feel any shame for the things that mean the most to you. Do you like video games? Or Ornithology? How about fanfiction? Or maybe Indy 500 races? Do you find joy when you're alone in the woods? Or sitting out with friends at a bar? Do you enjoy being alone? Or maybe you love to sing your heart out at karaoke? Whatever it is you love-- embrace it, whether it's "Weird" by someone else's standards or not. If it makes you smile, if it makes you enjoy your time on this little blue dot-- dive in lovelies, with no regrets. It was a boring day at the scrap yard. The team was taking things a bit easier as the Decepticon activity had gone down. Less patrols and more free time. It didn’t take too long for some members of the team to grow restless of being stuck in the scrap yard. The best solution was to simply go out for a drive.

Well, everyone could except Grimlock.

“C’mon Bee! I’ll even wear my disguise so no one can see me!”--Grimlock

“Why can’t you do it?”--Grimlock

“I’m not planning on throwing out my back struts just yet.”--Bumblebe

Buddy decided to help with that problem.

“Psst! Grimlock!”--Buddy

“Buddy?”--Grimlock

“Shh!”--Buddy

“Oh okay. What’s up?”--Grimlock

“We are going out at night. Just you and me.”--Buddy

“Cool!—”--Grimlock

“Shh!”--Buddy

“Where are we going?”--Grimlock

Soon enough evening came in, and Buddy was ready to execute Phase 2 of their plan…

Sneak Grimlock out without anyone knowing.

After a series of silly shenanigans Buddy had successfully gotten Grimlock out of the yard. How did they do it? They don’t even know, its just their luck.

“C’mon Grim! We’re home free!”--Buddy

“Do you think anyone is going to notice us gone?”--Grimlock

“Nah. It’ll be a bit before anyone really notices anything.”--Buddy

The ‘Dad’ Sense is tingling.

“…Somethings wrong…”—Bumblebee

Now their next stop.

Grimlock had offered to give Buddy a ride as they were reaching rougher terrain.

“You need some help there?”--Grimlock

Looking at the big rocks

“… If you don’t mind…”--Buddy

After a bit of walking the two reached a small patch of green. The long blades of grass tickled at Grimlock’s pedes.

“Hey, put me down a sec. I’m gonna show you the surprise!”--Buddy

Buddy stood in the waist high grass then started running a bit in the grass. Little lights appeared.

“Wow!”--Grimlock

“Fireflies Grimlock! Here’s your surprise!”--Buddy

“What’s a firefly? Wait, are they going to hurt you?! Are they safe for bots?!”--Grimlock

“…Buckle up Grimlock. I’m about to info dump so much buggy knowledge on that Dino brain of yours…”--Buddy

As Buddy started ranting all about the little buggy’s, they instructed Grimlock to gently wave his tail over the top of the grass. More little lights appeared with the movement of the grass.

“This is fun!”--Grimlock

“I know right! So much better than hearing Bee trying to come up with a catchphrase in secret!”--Buddy

Meanwhile with Bumblebee.

“…Somehow I feel insulted…”--Bumblebee

They eventually laid down on the grass and began looking at the stars. Buddy soon began ranting about fun facts about fireflies and some astronomy. Grimlock, while he didn’t understand everything, he listened intently.

“What star sign do you think I am Buddy?”--Grimlock

“Hmm… I don’t know maybe a—”--Buddy

“Grimlock!”--Bumblebee

“No not that—”--Buddy

“Buddy, I know you’re there too! You two are coming back to the scrapyard with me!”--Bumblebee

“…”—Grimlock and Buddy

Hey there and welcome everyone!

I’m Mintaka Tyrone Pines (the guy on the right), but please, just call me Taka. You might be a little surprised by how I look—yeah, I’ve got heterochromia, which means I literally have one of each of my parents’ eye colors. But let’s not get too hung up on that. At least my hair is a natural blonde, I'm certain of it, and not half-half!

So, welcome to the blog my sisters and I set up! Nita’s the one with all the brains (definitely the smart one), and Nilam, well, she’s got seven fingers, which is kinda cool. As for me, I’m the "dork" with the journal chronicling all of our adventures. You might’ve heard of our parents—Dipper and Pacifica Pines? Yep, we’re their kids. Besides sharing some tips and tricks for surviving the weirdness of Gravity Falls, we might just spill a few juicy secrets about our parents. Hehe, just make sure they don’t find out about this blog, alright?

They love dragging me into their shenanigans while I’d much rather stay out of trouble. Sometimes I wish people could see me as more than just my dad's mirror. I might look like my sister, but trust me, we’re pretty different. I’ve got my mom’s blue eyes, and apparently, I take after my Aunt’s impulsiveness and artistic side. I love embracing who I am, and if anyone thinks otherwise, well, I’ve got some karate and judo skills I’d be happy to show off. Besides that, I’m really into arts and crafts, and I play the piano!
