Okay, that episode annoyed me. Was planning to never share this in respect for Ocon wanting to keep things private but i'll break it by saying Ralf Schumacher was right about why Ocon and Gasly aren't friends.

Alice, Ocon's ex-girlfriend, is the reason for their falling out. They broke up in 2017. The picture cropping and Gasly telling the world about his and Ocon's relationship all started in 2018. Did Gasly ever talk about them not being friends prior to 2018?

If you were lucky enough to be on tiktok last August, she, Alice, made a couple of post boasting about being the reason and having the numbers of two F1 drivers. She literally named both of them and even tagged Ocon. That's how I saw it. It was icky. She even liked a comment asking if she was the reason for the falling out. Those post are deleted now, I have copies but i'll never share them.

But honestly, anyone with basic logic would know Gasly is lying through his teeth about karting being the only reason. Just the picture of them on vacation together proves it.

Gasly lost a friend, Ocon got rid of someone he couldn't trust. This explains why Gasly seemed to be the one trying to fix their relationship and constantly talks about it while Ocon doesn't care anymore and simply wants to remain professional.

You don't have to share or respond to this. I just needed to let this out.

i always figured something definitely happened between 2017 and 2018, since we got pics of them hanging out in 2017 and then suddenly it was super tense in 2018. that could well be the case. and like you said, gasly only started saying it was a karting rivalry turned sour in 2018 and not before, afaik.

I think that Father Of All… would’ve probably been considered a really good album if it was anyone BUT Green Day’s album. Seemed kinda foreshadowed by Green Day’s own legacy, it was a catchy album. Were this a new band we’d have been talking about how cool the dance punk vibe was. Or maybe we weren’t yet that into ‘new rock’. A lot of that seemed to happen through and after the pandemic.

imagining that in their teens the losers club always laughed at valentine’s day. after all, none of them ever got chocolates from secret admirers at school (unless it was a prank), none of them ever got confessed to behind the school (unless it was a prank), none of them ever got asked out on dates (unless it was a prank), and they all soon grew to roll their eyes at the “holiday”.

instead, they liked to spend february 14th together, as friends. by the time they were 16, it was sort of a tradition for them to all go to the movies on feb 14th, spend their allowance on candy and popcorn and junk food, and binge watch all the bad rom coms that the movie theatre is showing and laugh at and make fun of them, and it was a tradition that they all loved.

until…

when they’re 19, richie and eddie start dating. and when their first valentine’s day as a couple rolls around, they find themselves in a bit of a dilemma. of course they love their losers club tradition and still want to do that, but now that they’re in love they don’t think valentines day is as stupid as they used to, and they want to do something together. but of course they can’t without their friends being suspicious, and richie and eddie haven’t told any of their friends that they’re dating- well, except for stan, but stan figured it out on his own.

so a few days before valentine’s day, richie and eddie come up with a plan. the losers are planning on watching 3 movies. richie and eddie will watch the first movie, then stay for the first 10 minutes of the second, before sneaking out the back (thanks to stanley for helping them sneak out unseen by distracting the others) and going on their valentines date.

their date is perfect. richie had a picnic already packed and ready to go in his car, and they went to a small field clearing not too far from the movie theatre and have their picnic in the bed of richie’s truck. sure, it was february and still freezing and not exactly picnic weather, but richie and eddie both still think it’s the best date ever.

eddie’s had a timer set on his phone from the moment they left the theatre, so he can keep track of how long they have before they have to return. they’re just finishing up their desert when eddie gets the fifteen minute warning, and they quickly scramble back into the car and richie speeds back to the theatre. stan keeps them updated, sending texts of reassurance that nobody has realized they’re missing, and when they slip back into the seats behind the rest of their friends just as the movie ends and goes to the credits, richie and eddie bask in their success.

the only thing they don’t know how to answer, is when the lights turn on, and the losers club turn around and ask richie and eddie why they’re so out of breath.
