there is some interesting lore from The Warriors video game and the movie that probably carry over too the album because LMM is a big fan.

Cochise used to be a soldier before joining the Warriors.

Rembrandt there's most likely some form of queer because her counterparts are.

Cleon and vermin (I'm actually curious who they would have picked to play her) used to be a part of a gang called the destroyers but left because of how much of a drunk dickweed they're all leader was and she holds a grudge against Cleon

Snow is like the PowerHouse of the group alongside Ajax but it is the most openly friendly member outside of Cowgirl.

Ash is a member not many people know about but is essentially like the handy woman of the group I don't know if she's going to die like her video game counterpart because if it was they would have already talked about her since she died prior to the meeting with Cyrus.

The Warriors break Ajax out of prison.

cannot believe this musical concept album gave me Real Feelings about a character from the Odyssey who appears, like, twice

#Polites is described in the Odyssey as Odysseus's bestest bestie and then like never features in any of the subsequent drama #to the point where there's no 'canonical' version of how he died #it's either by Scylla and Charybdis or when Odysseus's whole fleet gets got for eating Helios's cows #so I genuinely think it's a super interesting adaptation choice for Jorge Rivera-Herrans to pull him out to be a major character #and then make him the first to die on the trip home #Odysseus's first major miscalculation results in the death of his best friend #Which then immediately frames his taunting of Polyphemus not as hubristic smugness but grief and rage #It IS very funny though how much more heroic and moral JRH made Odysseus (by modern standards) than he was in his stories #Also a long-standing adaptation tradition when you are the writer director and star #Will always make fun of Kenneth Branagh for making Victor Frankenstein a mostly well-meaning guy Trying His Best. Not a selfish coward nooo #And y'know. famously. there's Lin-Manuel Miranda as Alexander Hamilton #Anyway. Jorge Rivera-Herrans and Steven Dookie gave me real feelings about Polites. It was all shaping up wonderfully.

A nice, peaceful match. Minimal disturbances for the return of our prodigal son. The ideal setting for a comeback. After all, who’d ever heard of SV Darmstadt anyway?

But then

BUT THEN

A WILD JO KIMMICH APPEARS

Entirely boyfriend-less and ready to throw the match into complete disarray

Which he did, with a beautiful red *ahem* parting gift

And just like that, Manu went from this

And we may never know what happened in that locker room at the half, but I think we can safely assume Manu (or Thomas on his behalf) threatened to ground his rambunctious, misbehaving kids. After all, perhaps shaken from the record 3 sending-offs, they basically spent the opening 45 minutes playing tiddlywinks and giving Darmstadt way too much leeway. They owed Manu a better performance, and they seemed to know it too. They charged into that second half inspired, and waltzed their way to an 8-0 victory, restoring balance to the force and crinkly smile to their illustrious goalkeeper’s face.

tldr: Manu’s son got sent off a mere 4 minutes into the match. And pretty much 90% of his kids disappointed him throughout the rest of that first half. But it’s ok, because they made it up to him with an 8-0 victory and now we have happy Manu back 🥰

Every time I see a post complaining about Moana 2 and how bad of a movie it was I want to scream because IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A SERIES

Like it’s no wonder that it’s worse than the original no one expects a series to be the same quality as the original

And its not even like I’m mad at the people complaining I’m mad that the movie got turned into a movie in the first place

#like no shit Lin Manuel wasn’t rehired cause they didn’t set out with the expectation that it would be a feature film #but also with Moana 2 bringing in money even with the obviously worse quality how will this reflect in future movies #especially future movie musicals #I could go on and on about how not hiring Broadway writers and instead hiring pop writers is such a bad way to go #just look at wish…#anyways I shouldn’t expect less from Disney (derogatory) but come on man #side txt

Can't imagine how hard it's also been for the VAR F2 drivers after what happened yesterday in Spa.

JM obviously getting massively reminded of his own accident at Spa and Richard apparently knew Dilano quite well.

So massive respect to them (and of course all of the other drivers that were affected by the events in Spa) and congrats to Richard for the win. Was nice that he dedicated the win to Dilano.

DC's latest superhero origin story plays up its immigrant Mexican family element to much delight. Xolo Maridueña stars as a recent college grad and the first Latino-American superhero seen on the big screen in a fun but somewhat vanilla comic book adventure with all the usual story beat expectations while adding some refreshing diversity twists to its tale of resilience.

What’s like most promising and enjoyable is the world and family it sets up. Set over the course of a only a couple of days, Blue Beetle efficiently barrels through decades of convoluted superhero backstory and legacies despite some ludicrous decisions made in the pursuit of an unexplained evil plot to create an army of super soldiers.
