Something different from my usual content! But hey, I listen to new music too. Which means, I listen to rap. What a shocker! Lmao. Anyways, I've been interested in Megan Thee Stallion for a long time ever since Th0t shit and Body came out, and I was one of the people bumping "HISS" until it hit #1. Even after that too... but yeah. Anyways. To the point- Megan dropped a new album! Megan act 2. And i thought... I want to listen to it in full and just give my thoughts. I liked around half of the album last time - my favourites were Mamushi, Otaku Hot Girl, B.A.S., Moody Girl and Accent - but this time I'm hoping for more bops from Meg!
Track one starting off strong as heck! Not only is the beat nostalgic, but Meg just SLIDES. Like, it's the same flows and cadences that we know from Megan, but that's what fits on the song and I really love the beat. I also love how she shows her Houston roots and her people! This could have been a banger in the summer - eventhough Mamushi did that already - but I would have lived to bump this alongside Not Like Us. It's breezy, braggadocious, very very quotable, and super enjoyable. 8.5/10
OH BANKROLL ON THE BEAT This is the HISS of this album. Hiss episode 2! She is going to have Nicki in another spiral this time even with the direct imitation of her voice. I live how Megan disses tbh. I HAVE to look the lyrics up just to bask in the lyrics. Like, I JUST KNOW Megan put so much of her old Tina snow persona in it - 9/10
Another strong beat and this time it's for all the trash boys in her Megan's life! Yep. GIRLS DONT CHASE BOYS! Oh the last two songs were pure anger and energy, this is a bit more "fun" but still serious. In the Act 1 album she branched into more other chill genres and went into her comfort zone, but she brought in so so much energy in her beats this time. It's crazy. - 8/10
OHOOOO Goodies by Ciara! It was the number one song in the US when I was born... that's funny! I haven't looked into her because I am yet to familiarize myself with her songs... but on this song, she does sound really good and really grooved on the beat. Until now, we've been on a streak of really strong and loud beats with very energetic lyrics, let's see how the rest goes! - 7/10
I don't recognize the sample if there is one, but the singing voice caught me really off guard. Is it Megan's? Like... the autotune is really throwing me off, she could have easily gotten a vocal feature but somehow the vocal parts aren't really doing it for me - 4/10
Ooooh this brings me back to the 2018 trap era! The piano beats and all that. Megan has a more slower flow that I really like. The beat is super hot. Like... idk it makes me feel *things*. Yep girl. You're making gangsters and girls blush for sure! Aaaallll i would have needed is another verse - 7.5/10
This is the fabled TWICE remix of Mamushi - and I'm not FULLY on board. Mamushi grew on me after some time, and I'm sure this will too. I like the second part of Megan's new verse and the first part of TWICE's verse with Jihyo and Nayeon. Jeongyeon and Dahyun's verses fell pretty flat in delivery - I needed more energy to support the brag! Chaeyoung's part should have been moved directly after Nayeon and shoudl have been delivered with a bit more energy! Like... girls! Where's the "TWICE" shout? Tzuyu was almost not even there, but she held up. And, obviously Mina, Sana and Momo on the chorus did their best. Overall, I felt that Jihyo and Nayeon really shone. - 7/10
Okay WHATTT??? This is a wild af beat. Like... GODDAMNN MEGAN IS ANGRYYYY and the rock/metal beat with the guitars is... damn. Loud. I can only imagine how much the rock girlies will love this. This is a really damn good crossover and this MUST go hard in the concert. I don't know who Spiritbox is but seems like they're a rock artist? But this is a newer style for Megan too and I'm definitely intrigued. - 7.5/10
Ooh this is giving 2020 Megan! Like... her lyrics and the flows! This also falls pretty short tbh I would have loved more of the beat. But she is mad throughout the entire album and I love the vibes it gives the album! - 7/10
HEY HEY ITS THE 808s! Old school boom bap beat and some fun lyrics about a baddie falling in love. But I'm the grand look of the album, this is kinda fun and breezy but not really memorable. 6/10

Ninezero song (NOTE: no song was submitted, this was taken from the song list on vocaloid lyrics wiki):

Stardust song:

Alt song 1:
Alt song 2:
She is one of, if not the best and most versatile Synthesizer V Voicebank in my opinion. Due to SynthV Pros Crosslanguage feature she can sing English, Japanese, Native Mandarin, Cantonese and soon Spanish! And her english is amazing due to being recorded around the time it was implemented, so she was one of the first to have english language samples recorded! Her Vocal Modes are also quite varied, so she fits many styles of song. She can sadly only be bought in the chinese store TaoBao but there are Proxys or ask helpful people on the SynthV unofficial discord to proxy for you to buy her, and shes sill cheaper than most Vocaloid Voicebanks. Her Voice is mature and calm which I really like, as many vocal synths tend to have high pitched, cutesy vocals. But most of all, I really like her design the most. Her Vocaloid 4 Design will always be my favourite, but i really like the Quadimension X-1 Album Outfit they've been using instead recently for her SynthV as well. Her Shooting-Star Twintails are super cute and her having four tails to fit with the companys name is so smart(*QUAD*imension). I'm also very interested in her lore, which she was supposed to get a game for, but that is currently put on ice sadly.

my official ranking of (basically) every song by hozier
(ignoring some collabs/songs from soundtracks etc)
(this is just my opinion no one shout at me)
(he has no Bad songs, only Less Brilliant ones)
52) To Noise Making (Sing) (the sing chorus at the end goes on just *that* bit too long
51) Sunlight (slightly repetitive)
50) Nobody (maybe this is controversial? does however contain one of my favourite lyrics “it’s suicide Tuesday back in LA”)
49) Sedated (the lowest ranked song of his self titled album and it’s not because it’s not good it’s because his discography is fucking insane)
48) Someone New (only ranked this low because it was very overplayed in Ireland when it came out)
47) Almost (Sweet Music) (this was never my favourite song but who can resist “i laugh like me again she laughs like you”)
46) Son of Nyx (hozier made the best study music song of all time)
45) Wasteland, Baby! (sounds exactly like the album feels, if that makes sense?)
44) Swan Upon Leda (would be higher but i keep accidentally forgetting to add it to my playlist because it’s not on an album. also Free Palestine)
43) Better Love (hozier’s voice is so beautiful)
42) Dinner & Diatribes (ever since someone said he sounds like Count von Count in this song i can’t un-hear it)
41) It Will Come Back (so sexy. one of the sexiest songs in his oeuvre)
40) NFWMB (an under appreciated classic. i remember playing this in the car when my dad was dropping our friend’s kid to school and getting in trouble for the cursing)
39) The Parting Glass - Live from The Late Late Show (not only a beautiful rendition, but it was also performed during covid when everyone was feeling very hopeless and he just captivated ireland for a few short moments. gorgeous)
38) Anything But (we are reaching the territory of songs that are so goddamned good that it feels a crime they are so low down. he has dozens of such songs)
37) In the Woods Somewhere (eerie vibes which are beautiful and exacerbated when you find out he based this on a dream he had)
36) To Be Alone (again, CRIMINAL that this is so low down. blame hozier having so many good songs. don’t blame me)
35) Angel of Small Death and the Codeine Scene (a bop AND a banger AND a jam. triple threat)
34) Damage Gets Done (their voices are soooo beautiful together)
33) Be (“When Atlas acts the maggot” is one of Hozier’s best Irish culture lines)
32) The Jackboot Jump - Live (BUT THE JACKBOOT ONLY JUMPS DOWN ON PEOPLE STANDING UP!!!)
31) Shrike (this song made me cry when i first heard it and i am Not one to cry)
30) To Someone From a Warm Climate (Uiscefhuaraithe) (GAEILGE MENTION!!!!)
29) Jackie and Wilson (one of my first ever favourite hozier songs)
28) Talk (i love the myth of orpheus and eurydice and i ALSO imagine being loved by hozier)
27) Moment’s Silence (Common Tongue) (blowjobs)
26) Eat Your Young (hozier wrote this for all first year trinity students who had to read Swift for their intro to irish writing lectures)
25) All Things End (don’t be sad. we begin again :). hozier said so)
24) I, Carrion (Icarian) (soft, sad, beautiful. like hozier)
23) Nina Cried Power (feat. Mavis Staples) (also very overplayed in Ireland but this time it really deserved it!!)
22) Cherry Wine - Live (one of the most beautiful and recognisable guitar bits of all time. yes i said guitar bits i don’t know anything about guitars)
21) As It Was (the drug the dark the light the flame…)
20) First Time (“anyway”)
19) Who We Are (makes me feel like my chest is being lifted to god)
18) No Plan (“As Mack explained, there will be darkness again” is one of the all-time great Hozier lyrics actually)
17) Would That I (it’s illegal for anyone to dislike this song)
16) De Selby (Part 2) (he wants to run against the world that’s turning!! he moves so fast that he’d outpace the dawn!!)
15) De Selby (Part 1) (AN ENTIRE VERSE AS GAEILGE)
14) Like Real People Do (once again, how is this so low? hozier is too good. “we should just kiss like real people do” lyrics of all time)
13) Butchered Tongue (i wrote an entire essay post about this song. with citations)
12) From Eden (time has maybe made us forget just how fucking insanely good this song is. IDEALISM SITS IN PRISON CHIVALRY FELL ON HIS SWORD INNOCENCE DIED SCREAMING. also reminds me of verse 2 of Human by The Killers)
11) Work Song (WHEN MY TIME COMES AROUND LAY ME GENTLY IN THE COLD DARK EARTH. NO GRAVE CAN HOLD MY BODY DOWN. I’LL CRAWL HOME TO HER. also special mention for: “in the low lamp light i was free” aka the name of one of my criminal minds fanfics. moving on)
10) Run (SOOOOO underrated. literally rare is this love keep it covered! run to me run to me lover! run until you feel your lungs bleeding!)
9) Movement (i played this song every day on repeat for 2 months when i was 17)
8) Arsonist’s Lullabye (wario of better love. don’t ask me how or why)
7) In a Week (feat. Karen Cowley) (the most gorgeous beautiful song of all time their voices are perfect for each other - I’D BE HOME WITH YOU)
6) First Light (BUT AFTER THIS IM NEVER GONNA BE THE SAME!!! AND I AM NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!)
5) Francesca (AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. URGAAAHHHHHHHH. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I’D TELL THEM PUT ME BACK IN IT!!!!!! DARLING I WOULD DO IT AGAIN!!!!!! IF I COULD HOLD YOU FOR A MINUTE!!!!! DARLING I’D GO THROUGH IT AGAIN!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)
4) Unknown / Nth (DO YOU KNOWWWWW I COULD BREAK BENEATH THE WEIGHT OF THE GOODNESS LOVE I STILL CARRY FOR YOU!!!! he had no right to sing this. and as beautifully as he does. makes me cry. sha-la-la)
3) Abstract (Psychopomp) (this wasn’t originally my favourite when i first listened to Unreal Unearth has grown on my heart and will not let go. did you know the memory hurts but does me no harm. and did you SEE HOW IT SHINESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
2) Take Me To Church (this being his debut single. DEBUT. SINGLE. no one else was doing it like him. the vocals the lyrics god the beautiful lyrics the MUSIC VIDEO!!!! ireland’s best living artist.)

For ask game: 1, 4, 5, 10
Hi there! (I think we are neighbors?)
1. favourite place in your country?
Already answered here.
4. favourite dish specific for your country?
I think the most famous is Gulyás (goulash), which is actually a soup originally made from beef and a shitton of paprika. My favourite ones are however lángos, which is a fried sort of bread-like street food with sour cream, garlic and cheese (there are a lot of other versions now), and túró rudi which is a... chocolate bar kind of thing with cottage cheese. I know it sounds disgusting, but it's better than it sounds, I swear! This one has a lot of different versions now too, my current personal favourite is flavored with chestnuts. I also like töltött káposzta (stuffed cabbages), it's usually prepared for Christmas, and I think our neighbor counties also have a dish very similar to it.
5. favourite song in your native language?
I have a lot! I listen to Hungarian alternative/underground rock a lot (unfortunately it's not that popular genre here nowdays), so from the top of my head, I'd pick these three:
Tánc by Kiscsillag. I just like the vibe of this song, I can't really explain why.
Magam adom by Quimby. It's my number one heartbreak song because of the lyrics.
Beszorult mondat by Kispál és a Borz feat. Krúbi. They are an old band who reunited last year after almost a decade of silence. This song is from their newest album, and they had a collab with a new popular rapper, which shouldn't work, but somehow this track is just so good?!
10. most enjoyable swear word in your native language?
We have so many swearwords, it's very hard to pick just one! We can get very creative with them, we can swear for multiple minutes straight without saying the same word twice! Also, the meaning of our words are quite nuanced, so we have a lot of phrases which technically contain no swearwords but are used as swearing. To illustrate this a bit, lets start with a "basic" phrase: kurva anyád = "motherfucker", literally meaning your mother is a whore. The phrase still qualifies as a swearing if the actual swearword ("kurva") is not included, to the point that we use "anyázni" (mentioning someone's mother) as a synonym for cursing. So if we ask "Anyád hogy van?" (How is your mother feeling?) it can mean fuck off. "Menj anyádba!" (Go back into your mother!) is more direct and also means fuck off. "Anyám, borogass!" (Mother, please bathe me!) can be used the same way, but it's milder and now a little archaic even, it's mostly used as a sarcastic remark like "no shit, sherlock". Speaking of shit, we are very creative with this word too. We use it as noun and an adjective too, "szar" can be used for anything that's bad. If we say "Szarjál sünt!" (Go and shit hedgehogs!) that can also mean fuck off. I can go on and on forever, especially that I swear a lot. Or in Hungarian, "kibaszottul kurva sokat káromkodok!" (I swear so fucking much.)😅🤬

song ask meme!!! tagged by @hybridcitrus, thank you for the tag!!!!! >:3c i do so love inflicting my music taste on others :3c
Shuffle your on repeat playlist and list the first 10 songs, and then tag 10 people
God's Plan - Mother Mother y'all, the new mother mother album FUCKS HARD. i missed their old sound so much and it's back with this album!!!
The Glow (feat. Kimbra) - Big Data great song to blast in the car while you're driving to feel cool and also if you love heavy bass which i do :3
Kill All Your Friends - My Chemical Romance i actually only discovered this song like, recently??? by recently i mean like in the last two years, but considering i first listened to the Black Parade album like........ 10-12 years ago??? cannot believe. anyways this song gives me oc brainworms (shaoyuan my beloathed) for some fucking reason.
Astral Travel - Kikuo & Hatsune Miku i've been listening to Kikuo's stuff for a while but somehow i didn't notice that they dropped a new album?? honestly that's how it goes most of the time for me, it's always a fun surprise
Whisper - The Dear Hunter i'm kinda surprised it took 4 other songs before i hit a TDH one tbh but yeah this one!!! the migrant album was the album that got me into TDH, actually, and it's in my top 3 albums i think??? this song is especially fun to scream-sing loudly when you're feeling emotions. what emotions, you may ask? who knows! just as long as there's lots of it! just look at the lyrics cmon. also not to sing casey crescenzo's praises to the sun and back but, this man's voice. when you hit the chorus, man oh man. i love it.
The Carousel - Best Frenz & Joywave JOYWAVE joywave my beloved!!!!!!!!!! joywave's another band that i completely failed to follow along with and then suddenly i re-found some of their music, went "this is so good please tell me there's more" and then found all their albums??? and then there were NEW ALBUMS??? this is one of the tracks from one of them. this ALSO gives me tremendous oc brainworms (shaoyuan my beloathed again)
The Moments in Between - The Reign of Kindo if you like TDH, you'll probably also like the Reign of Kindo, because that's how i found them lmao. completely unrelated, if i have enough brainworms about an oc, i inevitably end up associating them with a band/multiple bands, and this band i strongly associated with tora. not even sure why!!
Burning Pile - Mother Mother wow, what a blast from the past. i used to listen to this as a sad depressed teenager!! and now i am a sad depressed adult, and i have different music i listen to, but this one still hits the same. damn. i'm such a sucker for a song that sounds happy and then you listen to the words and you're like fuck.
Ring 1 - Tower - The Dear Hunter ANTIMAI MY BELOVED. i cannot, for the life of me, decide which my absolute favourite song from the album is, because i love them all. but this one is definitely one of the top top faves. when the music slows down around the 2 minute mark?????? and the narrator in the song gets all smugly menacing?????????? and the instrumentals get all chill????????????? i simply die
Sword of Drossel - OSTER Project i think i found this track when i was in my late teens?? and then i forgot about it for a while, and then relatively recently (in the last 2 years) i had a sudden vocaloid nostalgia kick, and then i actually found this one on my streaming service and i was like oh shit???
man this was really fun!!!!! thank you again for the tag :D
i shall tag... @fangirling-phoenix @exilley @saiyanblood2 @bumble-b-goode @aboxthecolourofheartache @strawberry-hyacinth @mintchocolateleaves @artemisrockatansky @simplyaskeleton @skadren and anyone else who wants to do it!!!

My ultra-thorough, borderline psychotic, song-by-song review of The Tortured Poets Department, Pt. 1
Some people have shared that they're interested in hearing my thoughts on The Tortured Poets Department and I have quite a few. I decided to review it, song by song, in order to give myself space to focus on some of the small details worth discussing.
My overall perspective is that I think it's a fantastic album, full of tiny details ripe for near-infinite parsing. There's an intricacy to the songwriting hear that begs for Talmudic study. Further, I think these songs were, for the most part, thematically unified enough to belong together on the same album. The theme is clearly one of books, storytelling, mythology and poetry, with dense references to a variety of authors, poets, songwriters and folklore. Even on her upbeat songs, like "So High School," Taylor is referencing Aristotle and playing with inner rhyme and Emerging from her highly private relationship with Joe Alwyn, Taylor has returned to her zone of excellence: high melodrama, bipolar extremes of emotion, desperate yearning and intense anger. Yes, she is a global superstar and holds the music industry in her fist--but my god, the songwriting is good.
My review is too long for Tumblr's character limit, so here's part 1, and find part 2 here.
“Fortnight” (feat. Post Malone) (Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff, Austin Post) I would encourage people not to search through this song for details about Taylor's specific relationships. I believe this song is a composite sketch combined with a work of fiction. Like most of Taylor's lead singles, it seems to have been chosen to appeal to the widest variety of people (rather than diehard fans), for its length (under 4 minutes, which makes it more appropriate for mainstream radio play) and because it represents the general theme and aesthetic of the album. I wouldn't have chosen it for a single, but then again, Swift never chooses her best song as the lead single. I think she likes to let fans discover the hidden gems! Like most of the songs on the album, it discusses a relationship gone wrong. Now, I'm not a Post Malone fan and I've never listened to his solo music, but I actually appreciated the small contribution he made to this song. My favourite moment is, "Moved to Florida, buy the car you want..." As for Antonoff's influence, it's pretty apparent from the beginning--repetitive beats, an electronic vibe, stripped down instrumentation. Antonoff and Dessner have this kind of McCartney-Lennon duo effect where you can tell exactly which songs were co-written with each partner. Antonoff is definitely the McCartney in this relationship, contributing more to the lead singles and music videos, while Dessner contributes to the fan favourites and slow ballads.
“The Tortured Poets Department” (Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff) I'll be honest-- the first time I listened to this song, I nodded along patiently until I heard "You're not Dylan Thomas/I'm not Patti Smith/This ain't the Chelsea Hotel," at which point I practically screamed. I LOVE that she's drawing on and acknowledging these influences (especially Patti Smith and Leonard Cohen, who I would argue is tangentially referenced.) When the bridge came around and Taylor swift "that's the closest I've come to my heart exploding" (in response to her unnamed partner placing a decorative ring on her ring finger), I felt stabbed in the gut. As a woman in her 30s, Taylor is really aware of the "ticking time bomb" and the pressure for marriage, and here she acknowledges that she WANTED marriage but it didn't work out. The lyrics of this song feel so intimate and personal that I felt almost embarrassed, like she was showing the whole world her underwear drawer. Still, if you pay close attention, there's an artistry and a craft to these lyrics that distinguishes them from mere diary confessions. Notice the flexibility of "Who else ____ you," allowing for Taylor to switch out the verb from "decodes" to "holds" to "knows" to "loves." She's always understood that listeners notice and appreciate slight lyrical changes from one chorus to another. Taylor was also willing to toy with us in announcing the title of the album back in February, and letting us wonder who the "tortured poet" of the album was, finally allowing us to discover that she is not the poet, but the exasperated amanuensis who wants out from pretentious and perpetually angst-ridden relationships. As an English teacher, I also enjoyed the double entendre of "Who else decodes you?" Obviously, decoding can mean solving a cypher, but in education, decoding refers to the process by which the brain recognizes letters and translates them into sounds. It's the fundamental process of reading, which connects back to the album's overall literary theme. As for the musicality of this song--it's a pretty typical pop song, with the trademark Antonoff beat and staccato verses. Some of us just love pop music, okay?
“My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys” (Taylor Swift) From what I've seen online and heard from people I know, this song is quickly becoming a fan favourite. Honestly, this song is giving 1989 energy, and 1989 is my least favourite album. Just listen to that bridge It's ironic that Antonoff is not credited as a co-writer on this song, because it's a very Antonoff-sounding composition. I would also compare the bridge of "Toys" to the bridge of "Getaway Car," ("We were jetset Bonnie and Clyde, oh...") Further, I'm not a fan of the obvious Barbie references. It just feels... commercial, like product placement. When she sings, "I know I'm just repeating myself," I agreed a little too much.
“Down Bad”  (Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff) I really love the extended alien metaphor of this song--I was imagining the adorable alien from Asteroid City. There's a Phoebe Bridgers influence present in Taylor's willingness to be a little weird in the lyrics of this song. As for the swearing, I think it was used effectively in a way that enhanced, rather than detracted, from the song (which is not always my opinion on swearing.) It's a fun beat that I can't stop listening to in the car. My favourite lyric: "They'll say I'm nuts if I talk about the existence of you."
So Long, London” (Taylor Swift, Aaron Dessner) "So Long, London" is full of both anger and grief, the kind of song only a woman who wants marriage and children and just lost six years of her late twenties and early thirties to a loser who ultimately wasn't willing to commit could write. Yeah, I'm "pissed off" on her behalf, and that's the strength of the song. This song references "All Too Well (10 Minute Version)" by referring to a relationship so dead that CPR can't resuscitate it. All these lyrics are set to a Trainspotting era muted synth that echoes just so, foregrounding the subtleties of Taylor's phrasing and intonation. I just know I'll be listening to "So Long, London" next time I'm enraged and grieving a breakup. P.S. Notice the clever application of a zeugma when Taylor sings, "I loved you for so long, London." A zeugma is a literary device in which one word with two distinct meanings is applied to two other words, which each rely on a semantically different meaning.
“But Daddy I Love Him” 5:40 (Taylor Swift, Aaron Dessner) At this point, it's pretty clear that "But Daddy I Love Him" is the "august" of TTPD. It's the fan favourite, and I won't be surprised if Swift later comes out with a music video for it, the way she did for "Karma." Note that it's probably not ideal for radio play due to being almost 6 minutes long, hence not being a single (it's also not the most characteristic or representative of the album.)The plucked guitar is signature Dessner, and the melody and vocals evoke early 2000s pop. Listen to the chorus of "Summer Sunshine' by the Corrs, or instrumentation of Kelly Clarkson's "Breakaway." But what do I love about the song? It's iconic Taylor Swift---all deranged love, crazy infatuation, fuck you and pretty princess in the same package. The kissing-in-the-rain Taylor Swift of Fearless is back.
“Fresh Out the Slammer” 3:30 (Taylor Swift, Jack Antonoff) FOTS would be my first cut. On its own, it's certainly a functional pop song, but FOTS can't compete with the better and more original tracks on TTPD. FOTS treads the same territory as other songs on TTPD that are more creative, more funny, more angry and more sad. That said, "wearing imaginary rings" is delivered just right for maximum emotional impact. I wish she had ended the song right on that line.

MY MOMENT
I really loved it. I love music and I love talking about music.
But as a deeply eclectic person, it's humanly impossible to choose 5 songs that I like, and I don't have 5 favourites either. So I'm going to take the opportunity to share with you 5 current Brazilian songs by incredible and current alive artists, just true poems that I believe with all my heart that everyone deserves to hear and tif you decide to translate them, you won't be disappointed.
Not because I only listen to Brazilian music, but because I'm very proud of Brazilian artists and believe that they deserve to be recognised all over the world.
However, if you decide to listen to one of them, feel free to visit the rest of they discography
1 . CAJU | by Liniker
Liniker is perfect! She's a trans woman, black and has been awarded the title of Immortal by the Brazilian Academy of Letters, which is an indescribable honour for an artist, even more so in life. My favourite album by her is Indigo Borboleta Anil, but Caju is her latest and a close second.
2 . O Piano | by Coruja Bc1, Jonathan Ferr and Margareth Menezes
This one in particular is a song from a collective album with various artists, where each of the lyrics has its own musicality and proposals, but I had to mention this one in particular because it brought tears to my eyes more than once. It tells a very beautiful and very sad story (which even deserves to be drawn, so here's a possibility for a future WIP). The album itself, Brasil Futurista, is a great nomination and all the artists involved deserve to be here.
3 . A Ordem Natural das Coisas | Emicida (feat. MC Tha)
I could name so many songs by Emicida. From the most famous to the least played. 'AmarElo' is incredible and I seriously thought about putting it here (that's nomination 3.1). 'A Ordem Natural das Coisa' doesn't even remotely show the complexity of the artist's work, but it has a delicacy that can't be ignored. Think about how much life happens before the sun rises and the poetry he sees in life. It's just too beautiful.
4 . Torto Arado | Rubel, Liniker and Luedji Luna
This is perfect, because it refers to a book of the same name, which won the Jabuti Prize in 2019 (Jabuti is the highest national literary prize awarded by the Brazilian Academy of Letters). It's good to put her here, because I'd like to recommend another wonderful artist who sings pure poetry in every song she sings: Luedji Luna, another woman for the list and a wonderful one without any flaws.
aaaaaaaa there's only one more
okay
5. Ainda Aqui Sonhando | Leo Cavalcanti
I didn't want to put this one here. I was thinking of a more upbeat beat so that the list wouldn't be so quiet, and this was the opposite. But I think it's actually the most on topic and I couldn't decide which one to put last. Spotify's metrics show that I listened to this song for over 52 hours in March this year. This particular lyric touched me on a very personal level, so I don't have any great recommendations for the artist, but anyway, if you want to listen, Leo Cavalcanti.
Thanks for tagging me, and I hope you enjoy the nominations, I know I love making this list.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ━ ☆ ❱ WICKED GAMES is BONNIE's sixth release and third FULL ALBUM. Still reeling from the success of THE GOOD WITCH, BONNIE decided to wait and release this album later. Finally, on 12 APRIL 2024, the highly anticipated album was released. The title track SOOEASY got BONNIE 9 wins, but it was the b-side THE BOY IS MINE that really broke the charts worldwide. BONNIE is known for telling stories out of order, and this album is no exception. It could be about a love gone awry or a couple overcoming their problems and powering through.
☆. TRACKLIST !
01. INTRO : ILLSN II ── setting the tone for the album, this intro establishes the theme of people not being able to let go of each other. no matter how hard they try, they have been captivated and there is nothing they can do about it.
02. NBDY KNOWS ── in this second song, BONNIE talks about pursuing someone while everyone else is none the wiser. when asked if the song was about a real secret relationship she was in and she just laughed. the rnb sound made it a fan favourite song.
03. TRUE STORY ── although she has not said so explicitly, many speculate that this song is about her and her former company / ceo and it wouldn’t be the first time she’d sung about it. from the perspective of a now ended relationship, she sings about not caring about being treated like a villain for another person because she knows the truth of what they were like when they were together.
04. BAD BOY ── the song may be about the singer falling in love with a nonchalant boy who is kind of rude, but BONNIE clarified on live with a laugh: “i only like people who are nice to me”. it is a fun and catchy song that she promoted alongside the title track for two weeks and it managed to bring home 3 music show wins.
05. SOOEASY ── this album’s title track marks the first collaboration between BONNIE and ZION.T. the song follows BONNIE as she talks to her potential lover about how easy it would be for her to have them if she wanted.
06. LOVE WAR (FEAT. YEONJUN OF TXT) ── when the tracklist was announced and fans saw that YEONJUN was featured on a song, the internet lost its mind. the song tells the story of a love gone sour where it seems like all the two partners do is fight and argue, despite being happy once.
07. THE BOY IS MINE ── in this fun, dance pop track, BONNIE sings a rather sexy song stating her claim on a boy. the track interpolates the iconic BRANDY and MONICA song of the same name. surprising fans by speaking so frankly about a man, and just being an overall great song, it went viral almost instantly.
08. BLACK PEARL ── hidden behind a relaxing city pop beat that just makes you want to dance lies lyrics sad enough to make you cry. in it, BONNIE questions why her lover even likes her when she believes she’s ugly and too hurt for them, to the point where she begs them to just leave her alone.
09. EUNOIA ── following a somber song about not feeling deserving of love, EUNOIA is about two people who are just perfect for each other. they are the best for each other and when they are together. this is another example of how BONNIE chooses to tell stories not in chronological order. where does this bright, bubbly love song fit in the grand scheme of the album?
10. BLUE FLAME ── using blue fire as a metaphor, this song is about knowing something is dangerous or bad but choosing to do it anyway because it is so enticing. fans theorise that BONNIE could be talking about “the relationship”.
11. SOS ── once again telling this love story completely out of order, BONNIE sings about how she knows falling for this person is a bad idea but she just can’t help it and needs to be saved. when talking about it, she said: “it’s really just me being dramatic about — hm — i guess a crush. crushes are the worst! and they ruin my life!”
12. GENIE ── it is a very bright and fun song, produced by kpop legends B.E.P, however, because of its placement on the album, there is something disconcerting about it. BONNIE sings about being her lover’s “genie”, that whatever they desire, they can find it within her. but because she already expressed the insecurities she feels within a relationship, her willingness to be this person’s “dream girl” just seems sad.
☆. ERA HIGHLIGHTS !
── 𖤐 ⋆ㅤㅤㅤthe album was a roaring success on all accounts. from the moment promotions ended for THE GOOD WITCH to its actual release, the public had been anticipating this album for months and she did not disappoint. at the time of its release, it sold 890,00 copies and made it onto the BILLBOARD 200 chart. THE BOY IS MINE made it onto the HOT 100 and peaked at 27
── 𖤐 ⋆ㅤㅤㅤ YEONJUN joined BONNIE in performing LOVE WAR on INKIGAYO 240414 which was a surprise for the fans as he was not present for her pre-recording. when he walked out onto the stage, the crowd went insane, BONNIE had to hold back a smile. it was a fun moment for both of them and the fans loved it. the chemistry between the two of them had them trending online for weeks
── 𖤐 ⋆ㅤㅤㅤas they do with every release the other has, P1HARMONY had a listening party live when the album dropped. they reacted to and loved every song, obviously, making jokes here and there that only friends can make but it was when THE BOY IS MINE that stood out. for reasons fans chalked up to older brothers teasing their younger sister, as the song played, the members could not stop giggling and nudging each other, but especially JIUNG
── 𖤐 ⋆ㅤㅤㅤspeaking of TBIM, the speculations on who the song could be about were rampant. they were simultaneously invasive yet ridiculous. while majority of BONNIE’s fanbase is respectful and tries not to engage with rumours, a few fans were convinced this was confirmation that she had a boyfriend. every moment she ever shared with a guy was overanalysed to the moon and back
── 𖤐 ⋆ㅤㅤㅤBONNIE went on LEE MUJIN SERVICE for the first time and stunned not only him, but the whole band with her musical knowledge. she brought her violin and played THE LAST ROSS OF SUMMER, a notoriously hard song
── 𖤐 ⋆ㅤㅤㅤshe performed at COACHELLA week 2, bringing in a whole barrage of new fans. pictures of her just walking around the venue with friends were going viral prior to her actual performance and by the time she actually got on stage? locals didn’t stand a chance.

Now playing: Little Simz - Selfish (feat. Cleo Sol)
I am probably in the minority of people who are lucky enough to say they saw Little Simz perform live 'before she was famous'. It was a week after my 19th birthday, December 2017, and I was on my way to see the Gorillaz play live in Manchester. I had made it to the venue in time to see the support act; a rare event for me when it comes to attending gigs (mainly because I never give myself enough time to get ready).
At this point I only knew of Simz' name as she had been featured on one of the Gorillaz' new singles. I remember liking the song, but at this point I had genuinely forgotten she was even performing that night. However, after her 45-minute opening set, I had to say I was left intrigued. Her music was fun, easy to dance to, yet her lyrics were interesting and different. I left that gig not only on a high from seeing one of my favourite bands live, but also excited to discover more of her discography. She only had 2 albums out at that point - A Curious Tale of Trials + Persons (2015) and Stillness in Wonderland (2017). Both are strong, conceptual, albums, mixing soul and funk with grime and R&B in equal measure, while each maintaining a distinctive whimsy. As the title 'Stillness in Wonderland' suggests, Little Simz does an excellent job of inviting you into the unique worlds she creates.
When her third album 'GREY Area' was released in 2019, there was a noticeable shift in the energy Simz was bringing to her music. The zaniness she brought to Stillness in Wonderland had been left behind, and instead replaced with an unmistakable level of honesty, maturity, and at times, unapologetic frankness. I could go into detail about how GREY Area is not only my favourite album from Little Simz to date, but also one of my favourite albums of all time, but instead I'll just focus on my most-played track from the album - Selfish (feat. Cleo Sol).
On a blog almost solely dedicated to style in all forms, Selfish couldn't fit more perfectly. Before you even hear any lyrics, the impeccably-produced mix of snappy drums, crisp piano and a ridiculously smooth bassline tell you everything you need to know about the track - it's just pure elegance. Little Simz proceeds to rap perfectly over the beat, shortly delivering one of my all-time favourite lyrics - 'I'm a woman who could teach you a little something about class' - and she isn't lying.
This song is the epitome of a woman knowing her worth and gaining the confidence to show it - not only in the industry in which she operates in, but in her relationships with friends, family and romantic partners. Cleo Sol's angelic backing vocals compliment Simz' deadpan line delivery flawlessly, and by the end of the song you can see why the two artists have collaborated more than once. The music video has a laid-back, sophisticated quality to it, yet the use of dim, alternating red and yellow lighting throughout remind us what Simz' is really trying to say at the root of it all.
Despite the vulnerability in Simz' lyrics, she still makes the song laid-back and easy to listen to, even to dance to - which she openly encourages whenever she performs it live. I just watched her recent Glastonbury set and it was really beautiful watching everyone's reaction to this song - it really brings crowds together.
I find that it delivers something new with each listen - admittedly, I have both danced around an empty bedroom with a glass of wine and come close to tears to this song on separate occasions, but no matter what, I'm left feeling as if I've just heard something special every time. If you like soul and R&B and are looking for a contemporary, stylish song to listen to, then look no further. And for any owners of dimly-lit, expensive cocktail bars out there - please consider adding this to your playlists. It's what the song deserves.

ok i've had enough time to process post human: nex gen and i think this is one of my favourite bmth albums ever. it's so good and i love the concept.
so song-by-song thoughts below (not including [ost] dreamseeker bc that's just an intro and too short)
youtopia:
the first time i listened to the album i was honestly surprised that this was the first song. it's a lot calmer than i was imagining for the intro into the album. it also has a really hopeful tone which i wasn't expecting. after listening to the whole album though, i think it's the perfect first song. the lead into kool-aid and the rest of the album too turns it from hopeful to sinister, and makes me think that youtopia is actually the cult that’s overarching this whole concept
kool-aid:
fuck i love this song. i think it would be awesome to hear live, especially with the chanting of "is this what you wanted? no! do you want some more? yeah!" it's just so fun
top 10 statues that cried blood:
this is my favourite of the new songs. the chorus is perfection and i will fight anyone who says otherwise. the breakdown is also soooo good. 10/10 no notes
limosine (feat. aurora):
i love the tempo and melody of this. i think aurora's voice blends so well with oli's and her verse is probably my favourite part of the song. the switch up at the end is great too
darkside:
another banger of a song. heart-wrenching lyrics. nothing more to say
a bullet w- my name on (feat. Underoath)
i really love this song too. second favourite of the new ones. i don’t actually know underoath, but holy shit that screaming is awesome. also the lyric “the beat in my chest sounds like a swan song” just hits and the gun shot at the end… oof
[ost] (spi)ritual:
distorted cult chanting with an added "oh shit somone's coming," what more could you want? it's a great lead into n/a too, like were the people chanting also the group meeting?
n/a:
i’m sorry, i know it’s just what people say at n.a. meetings, but i can't hear the beginning without thinking of i'm not a vampire by falling in reverse. it is what it is. more heart-wrenching lyrics. the melody is so fun though. i love the juxtaposition of dark lyrics with a fun melody that makes you wanna jump around
lost:
another chorus i absolutely love. this song just resonates with me, i feel it in my soul. also the breakdown breakdown is top tier. saying “i think i’m gonna breakdown” in the breakdown, hello???
strangers:
heard this one live last summer, so amazing. i love the line “we’re dying to live and we’re living to die”
rip (duskcore remix):
this is such a good hate song, high school me needed this. awesome bridge. and then the lead into amen! with the funeral speech👌
amen! (feat. lil uzi vert, daryl palumbo & glassjaw)
this song goes hard, a heavy banger. also i can’t believe we’ve had the title of the album for a year and didn’t know it. all hail nex gen
[ost] puss-e:
i don’t even care what the deeper meaning of this is, the absolute ridiculousness of one of the only clear audio snippets being “what would you do for puss-e?” is fantastic
die4u:
what do you mean this song has been out for 3 years?? what is time?? also heard this one live and again so amazing. i adore the bridge
dig it:
ending it with probably the most conceptual song of the album. “life is a grave and i dig it.” the lyricism. the glitches and distortions throughout are very smart. and then the minute and a half of absolute silence. i had to check to see if the album was over my first listen bc i knew there was no way that was 7 minutes and i was so confused. m8 has such a cute robot voice (i know that’s not the takeaway here, but it’s my takeaway lol). i think it’s the perfect way to end the album and drives home the post human concept.

💜🥰🌸 Bonjour! Send this to the wonderful people on your feed if you want them to gush about their current favourite song to you and also 1 nice moment from the past week! (no pressure) 🌸💕💜➰💐😈🌸
Bonjour, my darling 🌼
Let me start with one good thing from this week: I had my first driving lesson in several months, and my driving instructor told me he thinks I am ready to take my exam in May!! That was so unexpected, and made me so happy. Being able to drive would make some things so much easier. So yay 🥳🥳🥳
I'm not really the kind of person to have favourite songs. I am more of a listen to one artist or one album on repeat kind of gal, but I'll use this opportunity to gush about Sondre Justad and his latest album "En anna mæ" (2022), that I've been listening to a lot lately. Because I love the sound of it, and these are some of the most honest and brave lyrics I ever read. This is his third album, and he has been known in Norway for years. Before releasing this album he came out as bisexual, and talked about how he felt he had needed to hide this part of himself for years, and how that had a negative impact on him and his relationships. And he poured a lot of those feelings and thoughts into this album.
So I am going to share some lyrics from the song "Sorry", because I think he says it so well here:
Man blir sliten av å bær på hemmeligheta/ One gets tired of carrying secrets
Kan sov i tusenvis av tima, men fortsatt vær helt koala/ Can sleep for thousands of hours and still be all koala
Og når man e svak, tar man dårlige valg/ And when you're weak, you make bad decisions
Fins ikke kraft til å se heile bildet/ There is no strength to see the whole picture
Eller til å stå opp for sæ sjøl/ Or to a stand up for yourself
Og til å vite ka du egentlig ville/ And to know what you really wanted
(...)
Har blitt en jævel på kvite løgne/ Have become a master (lit. devil) at white lies
Ingen har lurt mæ mere enn æ sjøl/ No one has fooled me more than I did myself
(...)
Sorry, men æ e ikke hjemme/ Sorry, I am not at home
Har ikke vært det på lang, lang tid/ I haven't been for a long, long time
Æ har begynt å lign på en fremmed/ I've begun to look/feel like a stranger
Vær så god, noen andre får lev mitt liv/ Please, someone else better live my life
🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷🪷
Well, it's not really the same without the music, and the rhythm in Norwegian is definitely better than my translated English. (And this became long. Oops.) Still, I just love it!
Thanks for letting me gush 💜

Jukebox January: Day 1
This is a tag started by @esskuesli ! Here is the info :)
I know it's past midnight in my timezone but uuuuh please let's pretend it's still January 1 and I'm not late (or let's pretend my lateness is totally intentional in honour of birthday boy and notorious late boy Jan Peteh)
Also I hope you won't mind, I kind of want to bend the rules a little bit... there are things that I want to include on some days that are not songs (but still start with each letter), like albums, genres, etc. I hope that's okay.
I included some spotify links for convenience but it's limited to 10 per post, so not all songs have them, sorry.
Anyway, here's my list for today:
A sem ti povedal - Live from Arena Stožice by Joker Out
Considering the nature of this blog, I just had to kick this off with a Joker Out song. I love both the studio and the live versions, but in honour of the concert movie (which I haven't watched yet lol), here is the Stožice version with the beautiful trumpet intro.
Aikuinen (feat. Vinttikoira) by Käärijä
Aaaaand here is a Käärijä song as well, of course. Aikuinen is one of my favourite of his songs, both for the music and the very relatable lyrics (or at least their translation, I still don't speak Finnish).
Avalanche by Leonard Cohen
A good portion of the songs I listen to are because of some other brainrot, be it tv shows, movies, books or anything else. Honestly you could track whatever I've been obsessed with in any given year just by looking at what Leonard Cohen song is on my spotify wrapped (his songs are good for soundtracks, what can I say). This one was used in Our flag means death, but also it's just a damn good song.
Look, is this a bit cringe? Yes. But is it fun to belt out while drunk at some lame village party? Also yes. It's a classic 80s French song (if you grow up in some rural swiss village that didn't know rap existed until like 2005 you'll know a lot of those)(yes i'm exaggerating a bit but still)
While we're on the topic of slightly cringe, I don't listen to them anymore, but shoutout to 15 year old me who was doodling little aliens everywhere because of this album. It's gonna be okay buddy I promise.
Literally nothing I love more than a good overdramatic 80s power ballad. Hell yes.
I love this song and also I have a little bit of a soft spot for Paulo Londra (even though I know nothing about him other than his music) because he's from Córdoba (Argentina) where I lived for a little bit, so it reminds me of good times :)
I used to listen to Charlie Winston when I was much younger and honestly his new album is a banger, I've enjoyed getting back into his music.
A Curious Thing by Amy Macdonald
This is not a song but an album, and it's very dear to my heart. Amy Macdonald is one of the artists I've consistently been listening to for the longest. I love all of her albums, but A Curious Thing is one of the first albums I bought with my own money as a teenager, when I went to London with my mom. It was the first time I was ever on a plane, so now every time I fly I listen to this album. Very silly ritual, I know, but I still do it.
And now a bunch of miscellaneous songs about which I don't really have anything to say but I still enjoy:

BTS Rapline Triptych '23 - surrealist painting
i wanna be a human 'fore i do some art - yun by rm (feat. erykah badu)
(05/2023)
it's been nearly 5 years since my last rapline triptych, and 3 years since my last bts fanart, but after listening to agust d's latest album (in conjunction with rm and jhope's releases last year) i got a sudden wave of inspiration to do a surrealist inspired work!
this is based on the lyrics and general vibes of a few of my favourite songs from the albums (such as polar night, yun and equal sign!) as well as an interpretation of my own journey through the last 3 years or so...
see the individual panels below with a lil explanation to my thought process~
Tumblr media
i had actually originally planned to have suga be surrounded by flames (very similar to my 2018 triptych), but decided that the flames suited jhope's panel more (because of the connection to the song arson), so settled for a bathtub filled with... a red liquid (is it blood? is it wine? you decide lol)
part of my thought process was focused on the way his album in particular comments on how we change, and also how that can be a painful thing to reckon with. the last few years have felt very much like we've all been forced to choose either to sink or to swim, and while we decide we remain in some sort of limbo... the closed door and empty room are a part of this feeling (and also something i was inspired to do after watching his music video for amygdala).
Tumblr media
the 'shadows' connected to rm (which also cross over into the first panel) are supposed to represent the concept of past selves. rm's album 'indigo' emphasises the idea of the self, and how to feel much more at ease with who you are now whilst not completely letting go who you were then.
the central black splotch (technical term) is based on work by the artist yun hyongkeun who was the inspiration for the song 'yun' (which is also where the written lyrics above are from). i liked the way his works looked like voids, with rough unfinished edges, drawing you in like a cave. i wanted this part to be the only real dark part of this central panel. i was a little worried this panel would look out of place because of that, but i kinda realised that that's the point!
this panel is very much a reflection of what it is to be an artist, and a human. and in the sea of soulless ai and the commercialised art market, it was kinda refreshing to create something that i didnt try and harmonise. the colours dont feel like they necessarily go together and the glitched flames from the final panel create a confusing mess in the centre of the piece, as a central focal point of the whole piece it honestly looks kinda bad to me, but i dont care! mess is an integral part of being human, and being human is an integral part of being an artist.
Tumblr media
i originally planned for there to be lightning to coming out of the cloud because of the storm-y vibe of jhope's album, but i thought it'd clash with the fire so went with some rain instead lol. the album carries a lot of themes of the pressure of success, living up to other people's (and your own) expectations, and struggling with what you want out of life vs what you need! and i tried to reflect this in the cloud 'hat' on his head.
i wanted to add some open doors to contrast with suga's closed door, but whereas suga's door has a thin gleam of light coming through the seam, jhope's doors all lead to darkness. the fear of what lies beyond those doors isn't lessoned when the door is open, if anything it's heightened! the doors could also be empty, given that a lot of my motivation for art has felt lacking in the last 3 years lol...
the additional faces came about by accident but i really like how they came about lol. in a way i was trying to give the portraits a traditional ink drawing style, as well as continuous line drawing to fit with the surrealism theme. they represent the 'self' in all its forms, who we are inside, who we are to others, who we want to be etc. all three of the albums explore themes of self, and in their cases specifically who they are in a world where their success is almost unparalleled. i dont relate to this (ofc) but i do relate to the dilemma of how to stay true to that self whilst grappling with our commercialised and over materialistic world.
finding that faith in yourself as well as faith in art to bring you back to yourself has been hard for everyone and i found it really humbling to see that same pain i feel reflected back in the form of music.
ultimately this piece is about finding reasons to live and to keep going, and desperately doing that all through my art. something i've always done, but has been especially difficult in recent years. and like the albums themselves, this isn't the end of a journey, but instead a midway point, a crossroads, where we can look back and look forward in equal measure trying to make sense of everything...

@deadly-neutrino-radiation tagged me to do the 10 songs on my spotify repeat list! Hoh boy alright let's see what we have here
1. Loser - BACK-ON
2. Beyond sadness - BACK-ON (been listening to their most recent album a lot and these two songs r my favs)
3. Knight-Night - Endo Yurika (it was just the anniversary of Emotional Daybreak on June 1st, so around this time lots of her songs are back in my rotation every year ...)
4. METAL KINGDOM - BABYMETAL (absolute banger new album.)
5. 20km/h - We Butter The Bread With Butter (shown to me by a friend, absolute nonsense lyrics but a banger. Bonus for it being in German but it's so much screaming that I had trouble even understanding the lyrics at first LMAO)
6. Hypa Hypa - Electric Callboy (so many mental AMVs are happening)
7. Dynasties and Dystopia (from Arcane) - Denzel Curry (best song of that series, no competition)
8. Wonderful Life - Two Door Cinema Club (UH OH super secret character playlist...)
9. Kingslayer - Bring Me The Horizon feat. BABYMETAL (uh oh, another song from a yet unreleased, but different character playlist... 🤭)
10. If There Is No Sin, That Is A Sin (from Revue Starlight's Arcana Arcadia Act 3) - sung by Koizumi Moeka, Iwata Haruki, Kurachi Reo, Waki Azumi (the voices of Nana, Mahiru, Fumi, and Ichie respectively) (honestly gotta be my favourite AA song, it's such a banger. Even though it sounds like a rejected harmoe song)
I think by now my entire dnd party has been tagged so I'm giving it over to the revue moots, tagging @transimailisa @dongslobber @leefi ❤️
