FAVORITE INSTAGRAM POST

This is probably one of the best posts I’ve ever done on Instagram…

Back in 2023, my older brother graduated from college, and at the same time, I had just finished Senior High School. It was such a joyful day because both my parents were there, and my mom was still with us. I’ll never forget how proud she was of us, smiling so brightly that day. She told me to look up to my brother and to finish college no matter what it takes, believing in me with all her heart.

These pictures from that moment are more than just memories—they're a reminder of my mom's love and her dreams for me. Every time I look at them, I feel her presence, and it keeps me going. This day will forever hold a special place in my heart.

What a year! 2018 was the year I sold my first commission followed by several more commissions, my first product purchases, and was when I took my first steps towards breaking away from my mental illness. I never thought over 10,000 people would look at or even show love for something I made. Thanks to you guys, I finished my large project of the year, #YoungifiedLegends! As promised, here are my personal Top 9 favorites from 2019. Some of you agree with my picks through your likes, some you didn’t. Or perhaps I created it too late in the year to get traction. But regardless of their number of likes or internet exposure. I love these pieces. They are my little art children and all of them have a bit of a background story or personal connection to me. For example, in the floating lantern piece the gentleman is about to propose. That is why his hand is in his pocket and why he looks a little less excited about the moment. His stomach is flipping around and his throat is pretty tightly constricted. She has no idea. Or another example is the lady in the fine hat and the pink color block. She reminds me of my childhood, watching My Fair Lady over and over again in my grandmas basement. I loved Audrey Hepburn’s amazing outfits and simple beauty. It’s the first time I remember wanting to transport myself into another time. With nothing but brothers at the time, it was also the first time I actually wanted be a girl and liked girly things. This piece is not supposed to be Audrey. But I really channeled that memory into it. Anyway, thank you for following me and cheering for me in 2019 and each year before that.
