BDS doesn't have netflix on its list (it does request a certain series to be dropped), and the current boycott i can find online seems to be mostly the MAGA crowd upset that netflix backs kamala harris.

if you're talking about any support of kamala being an implicit support of the genocide, that's a complicated issue that i don't feel qualified to unpack.

what i will say is that i try to do my part to support palestine, but i also believe i can care about more than one thing at a time. and i also care about the state of creative labor and art in this country, and about representation not disappearing in the wake of an anti-LGBT, fascist cultural wave.

If there's one thing Republicans do better than Democrats, it's organise. They don't engage in in-fighting or noble self-sacrifice on election day. They band together in mutual rage and hatred and they storm the halls of power. Sometimes literally. So you gotta show up people. You gotta vote blue. You gotta let go of your exceptionalist moral purity just long enough to do the ONLY. SANE. THING.

NO EXCUSES. NO BUTS. NO ARGUMENT. Because here's the thing:

There IS no valid argument for voting for drumpbpfth.

There IS no valid argument for NOT voting.

We've heard the arguments in favour of a protest vote. (Yep, even for Palestine). We've heard e v e r y t h i n g the dumpsterfire has done and intends to do. And NO argument in favour of either option stacks up. You aren't gonna surprise me with a "but what about...?". NOPE. SHUT the FUCK UP. Sit down. Use your brain. Because here's ALL you need to know about the ONLY candidate actually deserving of the title of the President of the United States.

She served as Vice President under President Biden (who did an incredible job given what he inherited)

She's a former prosecutor and actual career politician (not a conman)

She's a woman of color (which means she has had to work approximately 527x harder than ANY white cis-het man to have reached the equivalent position)

That's it. That's all you need to know. Literally. That's what you knew when she put her hand up and just that SHOULD, if there is anything fair and logical about US politics, put Kamala Harris in the lead. That alone should by rights earn her the presidency. Because those things things tell you these:

She can represent your country with pride and professionalism and without embarrassing you daily on the world stage

She adheres to the values of the Democratic Party

She can work with other stakeholders, inc. internationally

She can form whole sentences and logical arguments

She's interested in social justice

She can function within structures of accountability

She has political experience

She is capable of drafting and negotiating policy

She's smart and hard-working

The reason you don't need policy from her is because you know from her resume that she is actually capable of coming up with policy. The reason you don't need to know whether she can be held accountable is that her whole career shows she can. More to the point, she's running against someone whose resume and history shows he isn't capable of either of these things. He has no policy. No concepts of a policy. He's incapable probably of even spelling the word. He is also entirely uninterested in structures of accountability. dump doesn't care about America or Americans. He cares ONLY about himself. Sure, if republicans had put forward a legitimate candidate for Kamala Harris to run against THEN you could talk about inspecting policies. Then you could have debate and critique and some kind of productive and meaningful back-and-forth negotiation. But 'Merica, sweetie, honey. There's nothing to discuss. There's no great and glorious tussle here. You have ONE solid candidate for president who WILL serve you well. And frankly, you are LUCKY to have her. You barely deserve another shot at this. Trump was never a serious politician or reasonable candidate for president. He may in fact be EXACTLY the president America wants and deserves. THAT is now up to you to prove or disprove.

But please stop pretending this is some kind of a race. Please stop holding Harris to standard you don't apply equally to her opposition. The bar for her is in heaven while the bar for him is in hell. He's sloshing cheap champagne at the bar and hawking bitcoin while you press HER ON POLICY????!! Come the fuck on. That is a collective choice. The social media campaign for Harris is a brilliant strategic move and possibly the only thing that could at this point compete with dump's seemingly unstoppable narcissistic brand of bs. Dems have to play to win. Lives depend on it. And right now, Dems can't win with policy. And principle. And intelligence. And compassion. And experience. And progress. Because (some) Americans won't vote for it. But they WILL vote for memes. And THAT? That is on YOU.

The fact that the uk government is using the never-before-used “fuck you” constitutional order to reverse Scottish bills and desires is just. simply, finally, the most physical and legal manifestation of what the uk has been treating scotland like for decades. it’s being employed because making trans peoples lives easier fundamentally conflicts with their fascist regime. abhorrent, and we knew this. and we are angry and we are assuming this finally must mean something. it must mean change will come ?? There were good days, there really were some great days where Eoin and Paddy could just be one , together in their little cottage that thy had bought in the rural and wild outskirts of Ireland with only the birds and animals to keep you company. Sometimes it was pure and utter bliss. 

Other times it was a living and breathing nightmare. 

Wars a tricky affair you see, just because one country has declared itself to be the victor doesn’t mean it is. This little shit island called the UK is the perfect example of that. The SAS and other soldiers had made it there life’s goal to keep their homeland free from the fascistic clutches but at what price? Their own sanity. War soaks good and innocent people with the blood of their victims, and Paddy was no exception, he was practically swimming in that sea of red.

So yes, while life was splendid in their little cottage with chicken and hens clucking away it was also a living and torturing nightmare for Eoin who really at his core felt useless, a piece of rag that would be used to clean a coffee spill and then thrown into the bin without a second thought, and all this loathing , all these self deprecating thoughts came from one person. Paddy. Eoin felt horrible for saying or even thinking that , he loved Paddy , he would give everything to see the older man smile , he would killed for him, he has killed for him and by god he’d do it again without a milliseconds thought.Yet now as he cradles Paddy’s body into his chest whispering words of affirmation after the older had been thrashing and whimpering in his sleep awaking both of them to the reality of war, and while Eoin keeps signing Paddy Gaelic tunes and humming him the sweetest melodies known to man he knows deep down , something is horribly wrong. It’s the third time this week Eoin had been forced awake by scream and whimpers, thrashing of the bedsheets. For all Paddy portrayed himself to be in the war the facade had came down. Hard, the older man could barely even be around guns or the mere mention of the war sent him into a horrible state of panic that once he had pointed a loaded gun at Eoin convinced that he was a German spy all along, spying on him. The voice of reason in Paddy’s mind had gradually started to become faint, a mere whisper while the voice of paranoia was shouting at him and his body with what actions to take. God, Eoin hated this, he wanted to scream at God himself climb up the stairs to the pearly white gates and attack the Creator himself for what he had rendered his lover too. 

“Eoin” Something croaked but the Belfast boy payed no mind to it “Eoin” that accent was familiar though… 

“Eoin” Ah, it was Paddy. With his shaky and hoarse voice. Eyes bloodshot , hair dishevelled and tears streaking his face.

“Paddy” Eoin said in that voice , that voice that before could melt all of Paddy’s troubles, now it was just like putting a tiny drop of water on a raging bonfire.Insignificant.

“Eoin I can’t do this anymore… I want the nightmares to stop , Eoin I need them to stop” Paddy was pleading, begging but what could Eoin do but watch and lie to him even if it meant his heart would break in a million pieces

“Shh, it was just a bad dream okay? We are okay?” Eoin guided Paddy’s trembling hands to his chest to reinforce the truth that they were alive. Paddy could hear Eoins heart beat and his own. Granted Paddy’s hands were wet due to sweat and gave the impression of fine China but they were still his. 

“No Eoin” Paddy gruffly interjected “ I need a fuckin drink, a whiskey or a scotch I need something”

No. That’s all Eoin wanted to say. Paddy’s methods of coping infuriated his lover to no extent. Their whole kitchen was practically filled with empty bottles and the permanent stench of spirits had imprinted itself on Paddy. A smell that no amount of scrubbing would make it go away. Eoin has tried.

The silence from Eoin had given Paddy enough information to know how Eoin stood on the matter, he wouldn’t expect anything less from a catholic boy.Blurs started to paint Paddy’s eyes, there were tears. Paddy dint want to be like this , he wanted to be something to Eoin not this wreck 

“No Paddy, fuck, don’t cry baby don’t cry I hate it when you cry”

It seemed whatever Paddy did Eoin hated.

“Baby breathe, you need to breathe.”

Paddy was broken, Eoin deserved the moon and the sun not a broken toy

“Paddy.”

Eoins voice drowned out from paddy’s brain, dark spots danced on the edge of his eyes. The exhaustion and the stress bringing the whole pantomime to a end.

It was now 5 in the morning. Eoin was lounged across their chair watching Paddy sleep monitoring his pained noises and whimpers. Clutching his lovers left hand and his rosemary in the other. 

Paddy may not get better , Eoin knows this.

But if god thinks Eoin won’t kill him for not even letting Paddy or Eoin have their life he’s got another fuckin thing coming. Eoin will stay by Paddy’s side , like Anne Boleyns lady’s in waiting stuck by her. If Paddy is the mad god , Eoin is the mad devotee. He does not mind losing sleep if it means he can watch his love.
