Detta Yao | Identity: bisexual (women and nonbinary) | Media: Doctor Aphra Comics

Detta Yao is an archeology graduate student of Shadow University. Her doctoral thesis on the Rings of Vaale led to her recruiting Doctor Aphra, her crew, and Eustacia Okka. She found the Rings of Vaale, which were stolen by Just Lucky’s secret employer Ronen Tagge. She joined Aphra in her scheme to get the rings back. She appeared in the comics again when Sana recruited her to save a possessed Aphra. 

She is ambiguously an ex of Aphra, but definitely has started a relationship with the non-binary Kho Phon Farrus.

Kho Phon Farrus is a non-binary archeologist specializing in the Ascendant and one of Doctor Aphra’s many exes. The Ascendant were a group of people living under the ancient Sith Empire who developed technology that mimicked Force sensitivity, their ultimate weapon being an AI/memory echo known as the Spark Ascendant. Her quest for the Spark Ascendent ended up with Aphra being possessed by the entity. Before being recruited into Sana’s team to save Aphra, she was recruited by Qi’ra into the new Crimson Dawn to help her use a dark side artifact known as the Fermata Cage to trap Palpatine and Darth Vader in TIME PRISON.

Farrus has a flair for the dramatic and an obsession with the Ascendent, leading her to cosplay as a dark side adept using their artifacts. She has started a relationship with Detta Yao, but we still need to see how that goes.

I'm so glad I read the entire Hidden Empire event book before the Aphra issues coming out at the same time. Like we really had Kho Phon Farrus out here spoiling one of the twists of the series (what was inside the time prison) months before the comic came out just because they had a little crush and had to report back to the ex-girlfriend brigade abt what was happening. I mean Kho has THE worst taste in women (they did have a crush on Aphra im p sure) so like I could see it but like. Editorial. You're chill with this?

Merrin | Identity: pansexual | Media: Established in Jedi Battle Scars

In Jedi Fallen Order, Merrin was intended to be pansexual, although it only made it into the text of the game in a conversation Cal could overhear where she reminisced about Ilyana, a Nightsister she was close to. However, it was still ambiguous if they were lovers. The novel Jedi Battle Scars clarified this, as well as being her messy sapphic romance with the Imperial defector Fret.

Unfortunately, despite her previous relationship being pretty relevant to whether or not she and Cal should act on their feelings in Jedi Survivor, it doesn’t come up in any optional conversations in the game.
