It's inspired by just one of the countless horrors experienced by Palestinians during the Catastrophe of 1948. 

(If you live in certain regions of Europe, you might need to use a VPN, because it’s not on their local Netflix, to absolutely no one’s surprise. Certain governments would never admit to the atrocities committed by the Zionist regime, because they enabled it. Two sides of the same coin they are, and it would involve them having to face their own selves and their own history in the mirror.)

Support the movie as Israel is jumping through hoops trying to ‘cancel’ it and ruin any chances of it seeing the light or be nominated for an Oscar.

let me just add that I was ready to witness violence when I turned on the film “Farha”. As children of Palestinian refugees we heard countless accounts of tragedy and violence. We saw it on the Arab news channels-it was the only time the violence was shared to audiences unbiased. If it was ever on western television, the issue was danced around or painted as a “conflict”, not a genocide, apartheid or colonizations. We’re used to being tucked away in the minds of Americans, as if we don’t really exist or that our problems are simply “Israel vs. Palestine lol”. Except we heard our grandmothers crying as they told us about their parents being slaughtered in front of them, being thrown out of their homes with no one to help them, forced to walk to whatever nearby country with nothing but their house keys in their pockets. We heard our cousins and uncles recount their imprisonment and torture as young men for standing up to Israeli soldiers with nothing but rocks and slingshots. We heard the stories of families completely annihilated and removed from history. Houses evacuated, homes torn apart, bloodlines erased. Entire villages no longer existent.

and yet. I watched farha and deeply wounded. I knew what to expect, and somehow, seeing it through the eyes of a young girl, as she witnessed the horrors for the Nakba before it was called the Nakba, just shook me. Just a few minutes prior to the violence, she and her father were embracing each other. She was on the swing with her friend. They spoke in the same dialect as my family. Her dad had the same mannerisms as my father, down to his frustrated sighs. It was like hearing all those stories from my family members all over again, all at once. And seeing all of it, the culture and traditions, the tragedy and violence, so vividly brought to life on a screen that isn’t an Arab news outlet, had me simultaneously proud and so utterly heartbroken. Once again, I’m sobbing over the lives so brutally ended 74 years ago, the ones who were so deeply scarred they could do nothing for their dead brethren so they walked aimlessly until they found shelter.

we are farha. She was our grandmother, our aunt, our neighbor. She was someone we knew. And we finally saw her account brought to life.

Every time I find a new piece of my culture, I just get inexplicably exhausted.

How many more time am I going to have to pick up the pieces of my culture? How many more times am I going to have to fight to find a piece of it? How many people have had to do this before I? How many more will have to?

Farha, a movie about the real story of a young woman surviving the attack on her home at the hand of Isreali militants, is being reviewbombed on every streaming site and review site. Zionists have deployed bots to engage in this, and to drown out it's publicity.

Make sure that doesn't happen. The reality of the colonization of Palestine can never be drowned out, and we need anyone we can to help.

Watch the movie, talk about it, post about it, review it honestly. Please, we can not continue to stifle the truth of what Isreal is doing in their violations of human rights.

Farha (Arabic: فرحة, romanized: Farḥa) is a 2021 internationally co-produced historical drama film about a Palestinian girl's coming-of-age experience during the Nakba, the 1948 displacement of Palestinians from their homeland. The film is directed by Darin J. Sallam,[1] who also wrote it based on a true story that she was told as a child about a girl named Radieh.[5][7] It premiered at the Toronto Film Festival on 14 September 2021 and began streaming on Netflix on 1 December 2022.

Remember to keep protesting, keep boycotting, keep pressuring your politicians and keep calling for a ceasefire. Don’t stop talking about Palestine. Don’t stop talking about all oppressed people going through genocide and other atrocities around the world. Our struggles are interconnected, a fight for liberation is a fight for all!
