Dialogue with Gemini (22) Italian Prime Minister Meloni is charming.
Tumblr media
Giorgia Meloni
My Question:
Italian Prime Minister Meloni is said to be a far-right politician. This is reflected in her Italy First and anti-immigration policies. Still, on the other hand, she also seems to be implementing down-to-earth policies. She has raised concerns about France's colonial policies in African countries and the CFA franc issue, making her a bit different. How do you evaluate her policies at present?
Copilot’s Answer (Gemini refuses to answer):
Italian Prime Minister Meloni is known as a right-wing politician, but her policies are evaluated from a wide range of perspectives. Below is a summary of her policies and evaluations.
1. Response to immigration issues:
o Prime Minister Meloni has set strict immigration measures and implemented measures such as maritime blockades. However, the number of immigrants from Africa is increasing rapidly, and she is struggling to deal with it.
o In 2023, the government will expand the quota for regular entry from outside the EU and approve immigration legislation. This is intended to address the aging population and labor shortage and does not seem to have affected the government's approval rating.
o If the immigration measures are not effective, the government's approval rating may decline, but the government's base is said to be relatively stable.
2. Cooperative approach with the EU and NATO:
o Prime Minister Meloni places importance on relations with the EU and is avoiding a situation in which he will not be able to receive the reconstruction fund.
o After the Ukraine crisis, he continued to take a cooperative approach with NATO. He has announced his support for Ukraine and is increasing his presence as the chair of the G7.
3. Economic and Fiscal Management:
o Prime Minister Meloni has indicated his intention to maintain fiscal discipline and has set a policy of reducing the fiscal deficit in the medium-term fiscal plan.
o Despite market turmoil, the sovereign rating has been maintained and market concerns have subsided.
Overall, Prime Minister Meloni's policies are sound and she seems to have received a certain degree of praise for his management of domestic issues and foreign policy.
Impression:
Italian Prime Minister Meloni is a beautiful woman who has struggled since she was young, so she seems to understand the feelings of ordinary people. Despite her reputation as a far-right politician, her politics are solid, and she is a politician who can be counted on in the future.

I will never fear undocumented immigrants anywhere near as much as I fear Republican law makers. And that is something that will never change.

I truly, desperately need the Democratic party to focus at LEAST as much on the undecided progressive as on the undecided right-leaning moderate.
If you really want to earn the votes of undecided people, or--perhaps more importantly--inspire a young generation of first-time voters to vote for you, you HAVE to fucking talk to them and meet them where they are, and then prove to them that you've got their backs.
Like, yes, I'm voting for the Democratic candidate either way because the electoral college two-party system precludes viable alternatives. But forget the discourse about voting, not voting, voting third party, etc. for a minute and just acknowledge the fact that there are going to be people who are not going to change their minds if all you can give them is "not as bad as the other guy." Just, speaking purely in terms of pragmatism and sustainability, "not as bad as the other guy" is a dead end for a large percentage of voters, like it or not. Democrats have got to do better than that if they want to genuinely improve their chances of beating the other guy -- in this election and every other.
(ETA: I should probably clarify that I also don't like or trust the Democratic party, for the record, and this isn't me white knighting on their behalf. I'm just saying if they actually want to court progressive voters, they have to stop being... you know. Like this.)

I’m going to need everyone to do me a favour and anytime someone tries to use “It’s just common sense” as an answer to something - especially if that thing is political in nature - I need you to keep asking follow-up questions until you get a real answer. Ask them to explain. What is “common sense”? Keep pressing and pressing despite their attempts to make you look like an idiot for not having “common sense”.
Because I can guarantee their “common sense” is different from yours.
Common sense used to actually mean something. Not letting your kids play on a busy highway was common sense. Wearing appropriate clothes for the weather was common sense. Common sense used to mean being sensible in a manner that was socially accepted by most people.
But now I see that term everywhere, and it is always coming from the mouth of a far-right politician or one of their lackeys who are incapable of thinking for themselves. They rely on people not wanting to challenge them because they think they have the ultimate comeback. “Oh what? You don’t know what’s common sense??? Wow, and you think we’re the stupid ones!” But their point falls apart quickly if you continue to demand what exactly do they mean by “common sense”.
Because their common sense is usually discriminatory. Or science-denying. Or willfully ignorant. Or misinformation. And, most importantly, it usually is not actually what the majority of society thinks.
If someone uses the term “common sense” and they can’t easily explain what exactly that means without immediately delving into racist/homophobic/hyper-conservative nonsense then that is a red flag

Do any of the Democrats that’re currently demanding Biden step down have an actual solid plan for who else can defeat Trump and how? Oh yeah and their only legit option for replacement is Harris, anyone else they provide (ie Gavin Newsom) would be overriding her position as Vice President/Vice Presidential candidate and likely lose a LOT of Black and women voters. But if 2016 is anything to go by, as much as I believe she’d make a decent and competent president (and I’d still vote for her in a nanosecond if she actually was the candidate) she’s unfortunately incredibly unlikely to win against Trump at this point in time. And plus I don’t think she’s even entertaining the option; she has said she’s standing by Biden as his running mate. Here’s the thing: there’s only ONE PERSON in the ENTIRE COUNTRY who has EVER beaten Trump in an election, and that’s the person they’re currently trying to unseat. They’re gambling our democracy against the SINGULAR tried and true method of defeating Trump, and it’s a gamble I’m personally not willing to take.

See I would love to enjoy this Aleix and Jorge being gay on live tv but I just found out that Aleix supports trump and that has kinda ruined that for me like I was a little shocked and then I was like well I guess it’s a good thing I don’t have to watch you race next season cause I would probably hate it.
Aleix does???
why am I surprised when rich men are conservative lmaooo
it also checks out bc I know martin has shown support for conservative spanish politics but I guess in my head I assumed they wouldn’t have opinions on trump

Seeing people (probably people who didn't vote and don't want to accept the blame they deserve) say that it's Kamala or the Democrats' fault if they lost, talking about what they should have done differently, is killing me. The other option was TRUMP, you shouldn't need to do shit to win against someone like him. The Democrats could have chosen a one-leg pigeon with the intelligence of Hei Hei from Moana as a candidate, and it would still be a better option than Trump.
You had the choice between stepping in some slime or some shit, and you are justifying stepping into shit with "Well, the slime was turquoise instead of fushia..." It's not the slime company the problem, it's the people who stepped in shit deliberately.

very tired of ppl on this site using the boar's head recalls as justification for voting against trump when biden's admin was Also directly responsible in cutting USDA testing ahead of the listeria outbreaks
im not gonna discourage anyone from voting for harris tomorrow esp those in swing states, but this is why it's important for your politics to be about policy rather than blindly trusting politicians bc theyre "blue." if we only fight back on bad policies when it's a republican pushing it, but not when it's a democrat, we will never be able to stop our government's continuous ratcheting towards fascism
