Dialogue with Gemini (22) Italian Prime Minister Meloni is charming.

Giorgia Meloni
My Question:
Italian Prime Minister Meloni is said to be a far-right politician. This is reflected in her Italy First and anti-immigration policies. Still, on the other hand, she also seems to be implementing down-to-earth policies. She has raised concerns about France's colonial policies in African countries and the CFA franc issue, making her a bit different. How do you evaluate her policies at present?
Copilot’s Answer (Gemini refuses to answer):
Italian Prime Minister Meloni is known as a right-wing politician, but her policies are evaluated from a wide range of perspectives. Below is a summary of her policies and evaluations.
1. Response to immigration issues:
o Prime Minister Meloni has set strict immigration measures and implemented measures such as maritime blockades. However, the number of immigrants from Africa is increasing rapidly, and she is struggling to deal with it.
o In 2023, the government will expand the quota for regular entry from outside the EU and approve immigration legislation. This is intended to address the aging population and labor shortage and does not seem to have affected the government's approval rating.
o If the immigration measures are not effective, the government's approval rating may decline, but the government's base is said to be relatively stable.
2. Cooperative approach with the EU and NATO:
o Prime Minister Meloni places importance on relations with the EU and is avoiding a situation in which he will not be able to receive the reconstruction fund.
o After the Ukraine crisis, he continued to take a cooperative approach with NATO. He has announced his support for Ukraine and is increasing his presence as the chair of the G7.
3. Economic and Fiscal Management:
o Prime Minister Meloni has indicated his intention to maintain fiscal discipline and has set a policy of reducing the fiscal deficit in the medium-term fiscal plan.
o Despite market turmoil, the sovereign rating has been maintained and market concerns have subsided.
Overall, Prime Minister Meloni's policies are sound and she seems to have received a certain degree of praise for his management of domestic issues and foreign policy.
Impression:
Italian Prime Minister Meloni is a beautiful woman who has struggled since she was young, so she seems to understand the feelings of ordinary people. Despite her reputation as a far-right politician, her politics are solid, and she is a politician who can be counted on in the future.

My Cabinet of Tiger Ministers is in shambles.
#fallen london#tiger ministers#The continent full of intelligent tigers lets me go hang out with some of their most influential politicians. On the regular.#Mind you I have to call in a lot of favours and host tea parties a lot to earn the right to do so.#We have:#Tiger you get high with (sell the horrible visions you have from the too strong weed to trade with rats)#Tiger who is so deep in secrets even their gender is redacted. We have tea sometimes.#Tiger who is responsible for managing the military who rather enjoy the peace and quiet.#And a tiger who probably thinks coffee and cigs are a balanced meal. You have until she finished her 3rd cigar to ask your questions.#I wish I understood the lore to know more than that. I am oblivious to any crimes they have committed.#This is far less funny than I had hoped it would be but I'm posting it anyways.#This one is for the tigers fans. Not the the comic this time. The other tigers fans.

I will never fear undocumented immigrants anywhere near as much as I fear Republican law makers. And that is something that will never change.
#people coming to a country to seek safety and better opportunities in peaceful manners (a good chunk of them being literal children) versus#dick riders of the top 1% who advocate consistently for taking away my right to marry and choice over my body as well as wanting to erase#trans people silence BIPOC and freeze out poor people#I’ll pick undocumented immigrants#and this isn’t even including me talking about book bans which I could talk about for hours if one person sends an anon#this is all over the place#it’s so frustrating as a history student because it’s just another case of scapegoating that’s all there is to it#far right politicians thrive off of scapegoating#rather than breaking down why each sector of the economy and our political system is flawed it’s a lot simpler to just point at an#underrepresented group and blame them#that’s all there is to it and it’s not new#and it’s so frustrating to see people who have witnessed scapegoating and how stupid it is over and over in their lifetime fall for it AGAIN#all of these boomers watched different racial groups and political groups be scapegoated for decades and saw how bad it was only to fall for#it AGAIN#it’s so obvious and so painful to just sit here and watch#rae’s rambles#us politics#immigration

musing about what a translation of the silt verses would sound like and immediately running headfirst into the problem of whether and how to translate 'Sister Carpenter'
#Faulkner too but i feel like his reads less immediately like an occupation#for him i think 'broeder Marlon' has the right vibes and still alludes to falconry without being too in your face about it#but carpenter... oof. a literal translation doesnt work A) because its basically the surname of a v well known politician#and B) it ends in man#dutch has too many compound words that prevent most trade names from the possibility of gaining the extra meaning of a proper name#or at least make that more difficult. or maybe its cause im not natively english but i did know what a carpenter was#however smthn like 'furniture-maker' would never work as your protagonists name. but thats how most of these names are in dutch#so far ive got Molenaar (:/) Coster (sounds better but the meaning is off) Kuiper (sounds like a football stadium) or Tichelaar#(good cadence and an actual trade but idk if the vibes match 'carpenter'#)#tsv#the silt verses#de zavelverzen#joos yaps#dutch#broeder Valkenaer kan ook wel eigenlijk#i already found yet more options for carpenter... but none of them rlly snap into place#Zuster Sagher? I truly, desperately need the Democratic party to focus at LEAST as much on the undecided progressive as on the undecided right-leaning moderate.
If you really want to earn the votes of undecided people, or--perhaps more importantly--inspire a young generation of first-time voters to vote for you, you HAVE to fucking talk to them and meet them where they are, and then prove to them that you've got their backs.
Like, yes, I'm voting for the Democratic candidate either way because the electoral college two-party system precludes viable alternatives. But forget the discourse about voting, not voting, voting third party, etc. for a minute and just acknowledge the fact that there are going to be people who are not going to change their minds if all you can give them is "not as bad as the other guy." Just, speaking purely in terms of pragmatism and sustainability, "not as bad as the other guy" is a dead end for a large percentage of voters, like it or not. Democrats have got to do better than that if they want to genuinely improve their chances of beating the other guy -- in this election and every other.
(ETA: I should probably clarify that I also don't like or trust the Democratic party, for the record, and this isn't me white knighting on their behalf. I'm just saying if they actually want to court progressive voters, they have to stop being... you know. Like this.)
#i guess what i'm saying is: fear-based advocacy only goes so far#give people reasons to vote FOR YOUR candidate instead of just reasons to vote AGAINST THE OTHER candidate yknow?#go to the people on your own end of the political spectrum who hate your candidate#and have honest conversations with them about WHY they hate your candidate#'cause ignoring them and just hoping they hold their noses and vote for you? not a winning strategy lmao#and yes this is somewhat of a cynical take because in a humane world it wouldn't take political disapproval#to convince someone to condemn genocide or support marginalized people#it should be enough to just like. do those things because it's the right thing to do.#but there are very few politicians who do things just because it's the right thing to do so. cynicism it is#u.s. politics

ppl calling Harris brat while she and Biden gleefully send bombs to aid the genocide of Palestinians, you would've been holocaust supporters 100 years ago. You're holocaust supporters now.
#will probably delete this later#im just mad#neolibs are fucking gross and weird#you're not a leftist you're a centrist cosplaying leftism without knowing a thing about it#ppl who think liberal is a badge of honor just cause conservatives don't like you#just not being trump is less than the bare minimum#the overton window has shifted so far right and it's on purpose so “democrats” dont have to make any real progress#and so they can leave in the shit republicans implement and even do their own fucked up shit and no one can say anything about it#Harris supports a police state too#No politician will save you#and that includes your darling Bernie Sanders#the democrats want project 2025 too they just aren't saying it out loud

I’m going to need everyone to do me a favour and anytime someone tries to use “It’s just common sense” as an answer to something - especially if that thing is political in nature - I need you to keep asking follow-up questions until you get a real answer. Ask them to explain. What is “common sense”? Keep pressing and pressing despite their attempts to make you look like an idiot for not having “common sense”.
Because I can guarantee their “common sense” is different from yours.
Common sense used to actually mean something. Not letting your kids play on a busy highway was common sense. Wearing appropriate clothes for the weather was common sense. Common sense used to mean being sensible in a manner that was socially accepted by most people.
But now I see that term everywhere, and it is always coming from the mouth of a far-right politician or one of their lackeys who are incapable of thinking for themselves. They rely on people not wanting to challenge them because they think they have the ultimate comeback. “Oh what? You don’t know what’s common sense??? Wow, and you think we’re the stupid ones!” But their point falls apart quickly if you continue to demand what exactly do they mean by “common sense”.
Because their common sense is usually discriminatory. Or science-denying. Or willfully ignorant. Or misinformation. And, most importantly, it usually is not actually what the majority of society thinks.
If someone uses the term “common sense” and they can’t easily explain what exactly that means without immediately delving into racist/homophobic/hyper-conservative nonsense then that is a red flag
#getting real annoyed that reporters just let this term go#I see it the most here in Canada by poilievre#PP uses it so much he’s turned into half of his campaign slogans#but I noticed trump has started to use it more too#be VERY aware of people - especially politicians using this term#sometimes they do actually mean common sense#but lately it’s mostly a far right dog whistle

Do any of the Democrats that’re currently demanding Biden step down have an actual solid plan for who else can defeat Trump and how? Oh yeah and their only legit option for replacement is Harris, anyone else they provide (ie Gavin Newsom) would be overriding her position as Vice President/Vice Presidential candidate and likely lose a LOT of Black and women voters. But if 2016 is anything to go by, as much as I believe she’d make a decent and competent president (and I’d still vote for her in a nanosecond if she actually was the candidate) she’s unfortunately incredibly unlikely to win against Trump at this point in time. And plus I don’t think she’s even entertaining the option; she has said she’s standing by Biden as his running mate. Here’s the thing: there’s only ONE PERSON in the ENTIRE COUNTRY who has EVER beaten Trump in an election, and that’s the person they’re currently trying to unseat. They’re gambling our democracy against the SINGULAR tried and true method of defeating Trump, and it’s a gamble I’m personally not willing to take.
#‘he’s too old’ well so is Trump#and Trump is a lot worse off mentally#but also Biden is old RIGHT. NOW. and he’s STILL doing 100000x better as president than Trump ever did#he’s our best fucking bet against Trump and these people are kidding themselves to believe otherwise#especially when they don’t have an actual. solid. and better-than-Biden plan on how to better guarantee a win against Trump#plus any attempt to get rid of Biden could also be seen by voters as an attempt by politicians to unseat a duly elected candidate#and replace him with someone they didn’t vote for#(because remember: he’s winning the primaries so far)#election 2024#politics#joe biden#donald trump#kamala harris

it’s heartbreaking to have gotten to the point where when my dad says “I love you” I don’t feel it or even really believe it
#like sure maybe yes in his twisted far-right newly hyperreligious and conspiratorial way#but eventually I hope he sees reality for what it is#and realizes that when his actions don’t match his words#it can be hard for people to believe he has their best interests in mind!#especially when what he does or says or supports actively harms them!#if anything it just makes me more pissed off at the systems and politicians that made my parents see even their own children as monsters#just bc two of us happen to be bi!

See I would love to enjoy this Aleix and Jorge being gay on live tv but I just found out that Aleix supports trump and that has kinda ruined that for me like I was a little shocked and then I was like well I guess it’s a good thing I don’t have to watch you race next season cause I would probably hate it.
Aleix does???
why am I surprised when rich men are conservative lmaooo
it also checks out bc I know martin has shown support for conservative spanish politics but I guess in my head I assumed they wouldn’t have opinions on trump
#also at least in america many of our most hateful conservative politicians are repressed gay men#lots of scandals of far right leaders#so like#the call is coming from inside the house aleix 👀

Seeing people (probably people who didn't vote and don't want to accept the blame they deserve) say that it's Kamala or the Democrats' fault if they lost, talking about what they should have done differently, is killing me. The other option was TRUMP, you shouldn't need to do shit to win against someone like him. The Democrats could have chosen a one-leg pigeon with the intelligence of Hei Hei from Moana as a candidate, and it would still be a better option than Trump.
You had the choice between stepping in some slime or some shit, and you are justifying stepping into shit with "Well, the slime was turquoise instead of fushia..." It's not the slime company the problem, it's the people who stepped in shit deliberately.
#us politics#usa#politics#“killing me” as “everytime I see it I want to bash my head in a wall and that's not going to end well for my health”#“democrats should have done things differently” mf don't change the subjet from you choosing Trump#once again Trump isn't the same as other far-right politicians these are manipulative and smart he is a moron#Trump is very open about how much of a pos he is contrary to other far-right politicans so it should be easier to make the right choice#yeah I'm not usamerican but I care about people and I know this man is going to ruin lives#also the usa is an imperialist entity they have a ton of impacts on the world#I remember when France wanted to tax Google and Twitter more and Trump stopped us by making French wines more expensive#it's not the worst thing he has or can do to other countries but the smallest things are still an issue

very tired of ppl on this site using the boar's head recalls as justification for voting against trump when biden's admin was Also directly responsible in cutting USDA testing ahead of the listeria outbreaks
im not gonna discourage anyone from voting for harris tomorrow esp those in swing states, but this is why it's important for your politics to be about policy rather than blindly trusting politicians bc theyre "blue." if we only fight back on bad policies when it's a republican pushing it, but not when it's a democrat, we will never be able to stop our government's continuous ratcheting towards fascism
#anyways if u havent seen harris' most recent cnn townhall then u prob missed her voicing support for finishing out trump's border wall#or her backpedaling on fracking#and medicare4all#or going ''states rights!'' when pressed on gender affirming care#there's valid reasons to advocate for a harris presidency such as blocking trump from increasing the conservative supreme court majority#but. and i feel like i really shouldnt have to say this but that doesnt mean her or biden are free from criticism#if u need to obfuscate an admin/politician's complicity on an issue in order to get ppl to vote for them#maybe the problem is said politicians and not. ya kno#voters who want them to be more electable#ANYWAYS down ballot voting will arguably impact ur daily life far more than the presidency so yes pls go to the polls and RESEARCH#who is running in those races + ballot measures#text#uspol#void.txt
