There's way way too much to talk abt in one post (trust me I have tried I have hit the photo limit and the post started to crash while editing it) bc we're talking 40 years of content for a musical that changes from production to production even in the smallest of ways and in big ways with the non-replicas so really the best I can do for you in a short amount of time is give u a general idea of it and point you to less insane sources dfjsjsfd.

It's Cats' sister musical, written by the same dude, but it's not just "Cats but with trains" I swear, it's honestly easier for me to understand than Cats. The general gist is that there's a little kid who goes by Control, who sets up a World Championship Railroad Race with their little toy trains (I say their bc the 2024 london non-rep introduced us to onstage Control and some of them are little girls), and those little toy trains come to life as people on roller skates in hella heavy and intricate costumes. It's got everything. Underdog steam engine as the main character, lots of flashy weirdness bc this show was originally and 80s musical and also at its core was built up by super talented performers and queer actors (Michael Jackson's dance choreographer was the original Electra and the original C.B. was played by a gay man). It's a sort of cinderella story but with intense train races, REALLY banging music, a train god, and it's all done on roller skates. Also some rlly cute romances. Blasts you with silly gifs from various recordings (these are not my gifs I must elaborate they're just from my collection).
